This book is inspired by Jon Rappoport's work on imagination: his many writings (https://blog.nomorefakenews.com/ ), books (e.g. "The Secret of Secret Societies" and my favourite "The Magic Agent"), and videos (https://www.youtube.com/user/JonRappo... ).

If you are familiar with Rappoport's oeuvre on imagination, particularly his vast collection of imagination exercises, then you will already know many of the exercises that Weigert describes here, though there are plenty of new ones from other sources.

Some exercises are embedded in interviews with certain remarkable people that Weigert met and communicated with.

The actual exercises are scattered here and there throughout the book, making them difficult to find. The book has a long lead-in: you don't get to the actual exercises until over half-way through.

The good news. Weigert includes interviews and references to some remarkable people he has known. The interviews are very interesting, and some include some exercises, too. Some of the people he describes are Steve Hudson, creator of neoideograms, Vikram Gandhi, creator of a fictional guru complete with "inventions of yoga routines, symbols and meditations that bordered on silliness [nevertheless] he had success and even created effects"; Steve Jobs, Wolfgang Beltracchi, an infamous art forger of incredible skill who wrote how he used his imagination to get into the minds of the artists he was copying, Kim Anami, Peter Moon, Jack True, hypno-therapist extraordinaire whom Jon Rappoport interviewed extensively.

There is a rich collection of quotations from various writers and artists and inventors, including Rappoport, William Blake, Jack True, Steve Jobs, and (one of my favourites) Henry Miller.

Overall, Weigert does a good job of bringing to his readers' attention the importance of imagination and its richness, its apparently limitless capabilities and also how our society downplays its importance or power, even degrades or demeans it and casts it aside, like a child's toy, important at one time but not something for adults. And English is not Weigert's mother tongue, tho you'd never guess if he didn't tell you so.

After reading this book, I was inspired to re-read Henry Miller, and to listen again to Jon Rappoport's audio books on imagination and to start practising them again.

What is imagination? It is the ability of the mind to be creative or resourceful. It influences everything we think about and create. It can lead to theories, dreams and inventions. There are several benefits for using imagination as enhancing your problem-solving skills, preserve your memory, improve your social interactions, develop self-confidence and pique your curiosity. The author gives you exercises that will help you start your imagination.

It’s a fascinating book that will help you by learning how to use your imagination. It can be a personal journey of discovery which can help you in so many ways. The book kept my attention that made mr not to want to stop reading it. I know I will be doing the exercises!

"The best read I ever read!" still won't do justice with the amazing experience of reading this book. Live this book rather than just reading it like other self-help or motivational books.

I find Christoph Weigert's voice very unique. On one side of spectrum, there are people who do a nine-to-five monotonous job all their life. They don't have any dreams and passions or anything. Then, on the other side, there are people who are filled with dreams, passions, desires...fantasies yet are great procrastinators. And then they meet some motivational gurus who perform their soul-uplifting by telling them that all they need is be relax and everything will fall in its right place. Everything that happens in the universe has a purpose that works to realize their dreams. They can keep sitting repeating a mantra I-am-a-great-whatsoever and there is a cosmic plan already to make them "whatsoever". What I like about this book is that it tells you to beware of those kind of dopey philosophies. It incites you to action and has real stuff.

Some of the lines I am copying from the book here:
"Don´t give up because things are not immediately coming your way .... Do whatever it takes to regain your zest...Throw yourself with zest and conviction into the exercises. Get into them. Do them as if your life depended on it. Don't be shy. Use your body.".

I have a hunch that there are a few people in the world who've got it somehow, and Christoph Weigert is one of them.

This book consists of lots and lots of quotes and passages referring to others' work, combined with the author's own story, experiences and opinions. Most of the practical exercises don't start 'til the second half of the book.

Projection. Grounding. The dark room. Digital detox. Creating a kingdom. Becoming. These are all things I do on a daily basis and I absolutely love them! So, I didn't find anything new to try but I do highly enjoy and recommend the exercises mentioned.

The epub format I realise probably isn't the best way to consume this book and I'm sure it would look different in print - but the execution is a little dry. Considering this is an imagination book, I was honestly expecting a lot of creativity in regards to the aesthetic of the pages. Unfortunately, it's just pages of plain text which isn't very inspiring.
