Great background on the Pit and Team Zero!

A great story from Rina Kent. Originally this was released as the third book in the Team Zero series, but, since it technically happens before everything in the first two books, it looks like she renumbered them so this is now book 1. I love both the Team Zero and the Rhodes series. I don’t want to give too much away because the way the story is designed, you find out what is going on as you read.

However I will say that Hades makes a much bigger appearance in this book than in any of the other books and we find out a quite bit about his background. Hades is the evil man that created the Pit and is currently keeping members of Team Zero hostage there on a killer cocktail of A drug called Omega in exchange for other members of the Pit continuing to work for him.

We know from Crowed, Ghosted and even Ruin that the survivors of the Pit need to take Hades down in order to save the Assassins that are still there under his control and that are still addicted to Omega. This book gives some background information that will most likely set up future books for that eventual takedown. Dominic’s role in all this starts at the beginning along with Hades and is detailed in this story. He also plays a role in some of the other stories, such as Crowed, book 2.

This also is a great book in its own right. I have said it before, but I just love stories about sociopaths who have no emotions or empathy, but get involved with a girl in a story. The interactions are great Dominic and Camille are perfect for each other from the start. She knows what he is from the beginning and is fascinated by him, as was I. Terrific book!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I feel like I read a completely different story than everyone else.

I’m so thrilled, and slightly scared, about what Dominic can do to me.

That's the thing... Dominic didn't do anything to me. I wasn't moved. I felt no connection to these characters. I had a middling sort of curiosity towards Hades, but not enough to invest in finding answers. I just didn't care.

And it's not because of the author's writing, because if I could rate this book for writing alone, it would get all the stars.

I appreciated that the story was told in dual perspectives, but I didn't understand why neither of those perspectives were the hero's. What. The. Heck! I'm not sure I'll even bother reading the other books. I don't care about their daughter, especially when the blurb states that this couple I barely got to know is dead. Again... What. The. Heck!

This h was STUPID!! For the sake of getting laid she went with him knowing he was a sociopath. He could have killed her but obviously that’s not as important as getting laid! I can’t like or respect a female lead who doesn’t listen to common sense but the dictates of her hormones all under the pretext of being curious about his sociopathic ways. I won’t rate as I honestly couldn’t finish because her lack of basic common sense truly astounded me!! What a moron!!!

I previously read Rina Kent's Royal Elite series and was excited to read some of her back catalog. For that reason I picked up Lured and was hooked with Dom and Cam's connection!

Lured was a great intro to the Team Zero series. I was intrigued by Dom and Cam and loved the intensity between them. This story was sexy and addicting and while there were questions in my head about the ending and the new team developed, I can't wait to start the next book in the series. 4 stars! ~Ratula

So... wait. The second book's blurb... no?!? Please???? OH MAN. This story was so steamy and full of chemistry! The intrigue was right there at the start, pulling me in. I am about to binge this series PRONTO since Kent said she's removing the books from Amazon

This book had potential, mostly the beginning of it, but from the half to its end, there were many things that gave me a second-hand embarrassment and I struggled to finish it, honestly.

In the first place, I didn't like the writing much. It didn't help that the female main character was so childish, and she constantly says the guy is a sociopath, like, thank you for clearing that up, if you hadn't told me a hundred times already, I wouldn't have guessed it...

Also, she says she would "challenge" him, but all she does is give in to him immediately every single time, with a little banter here and there, but there's not much to it other than that.

Lastly, the pregnancy trope isn't my cup of tea at all, but let alone the fact that they fantasize in their FIRST formal date about having babies.
And the guy is so bipolar, because one moment, he tells her if she was pregnant, she could abort if she didn't want the baby, even worrying that would ruin her future; but then the other, he says he would get her pregnant several times if that means that'd make her stay with him.

I know it's a short book, but it was a really fast-paced story. I didn't feel any connection to the characters, which I normally do, even when it comes to short books, I empathize and get to like them.
I'm disappointed because I have heard wonder about this author, but it seems her books might not be for me, although maybe I'll give it a second chance with the Royal Elite series when I'm in the mood to.

I felt like I got dropped in the middle of a story where I missed the info of who the main caracters and the supporting caracters were! There was not much info on the main caracters and although I got a feel for a little chemestry between them, it still did not feel right. I felt like I read an incomplete story.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I couldn't continue reading the story.
I didn't want it to be yet another book full of ONLY sex scenes. Without any character deep dive or development - which I was reluctantly expecting with this one. I needed to feel the story (which there's none), I needed to get attached to the characters (how could I - when it didn't go beyond physical attributes).
So no thank you, mam. I will skip this one.

If you haven't read any of Rina Kent's dark, twisted and dangerous Team Zero Series, what are you waiting for, start reading, because you are truly missing out on a wild and crazy ride. Although this book will be released after Crowed Team Zero #1 and 2 have already been published, it serves as a perfect backstory and introduction this 'world' that is so different, addicting and very hard to resist wanting to know everything about!

In Lured, Camille, a curious young law student, runs off to find her own adventure- a summer holiday in London to escape her overly protective parents and the secluded life she lives in the French countryside with them.

Now, as a waitress in a small cafe, she enjoys being a silent observer of the people who spend time there. She's been obsessively watching a sexy, confident man, Dominic, a doctor and a bit older, who has all the makings of a manipulative sociopath and she couldn't be more fascinated by him. His friends and colleagues hang on his every word while he gets them to do the craziest things with just a mere suggestion without them even realizing what has happened. Camille can't stop watching him make his moves.

When he turns his intense attention in her direction, of course she can't resist a bargain with the Devil in disguise with what she assumes will be just another one nite stand. What else could it be with a man like him- bossy, a total alpha man who gets whatever he wants. But, as the summer progresses, so does their strange sexual attraction. I myself couldn't look away either as Dominic and Camille play their cat and mouse, will he or won't she sexual game. It was mindblowing, dark and you wonder what his intentions are towards this curious young woman... will curiosity kill the cat, the mouse?

This story reveals some major angsty twists as bizarre revelations come to light. Dominic must decide if he wants to protect the woman he is coming to love or watch as she is used as a weapon against him as someone more powerful slips in to manipulate him. Ohhh, was this ever good..dark, unexpected! What will Dominic's next move be? How will this end? If you want to read a suspenseful, steamy, different kind of series, this might be just what you are looking for. I get SO excited when one of her new books is coming out and can't wait to see what Rina Kent's wild, imaginative mind dreams up next.

An early copy was happily received and enjoyed. This is my honest review of it.

I love the Team Zero series and Lured did not disappoint! I had no idea that the heartless and seemingly evil doctor from Crowed and Ghosted had such a story and great love! It provides back story and fills in the holes from Crowed.
Dominic is so much more complicated than I thought! Camille is sweet, innocent, and in dire need of passionate love & excitement! Dominic is in need as of passion and love as well! There is action and suspense on top of romance!

Unlike the previous books, Lured is dark and kinky! You've got to like Dom and Sub relationships to get into this book and enjoy! I enjoyed it greatly!

Knowing what happens to both Camille and Dominic makes their story bittersweet but still amazing! It is a beautiful love story that will leave you satisfied and maybe with a tear or two!

Rina did an excellent job making me love a character I was sure I hated!! That is a sign of a genuinely talented author🥰🥰🥰

PS--I Still LOATHE HADES!

RTC when released! Just know it's fabulous and I loved it❤️❤️❤️❤️ If you haven't read the Team Zero series you should! Start with Crowed! It was five⭐️ read!

This is the first book in the Team Zero series and the official start of the Rinaverse (Yes, this series is connected to the Royal Elite series and Mafia World). This book was initially published for free as Charmed but it was only 6 chapters long, it was basically the last 6 chapters minus the epilogue. It was later rewritten into a full-length novel, with a new title and cover, and renumbered as book 1 in the series. The book is told from Camille and Hades' point of view. There's an extended bonus epilogue in Dominic's point of view.

The Good:
* Dominic and Camille. They are our protagonists. It was a bit insta-lovey but I'm not complaining, they had this instant connection and chemistry. You can say they are soulmates. They were made for each other.
* Their HEA was so precious. Married with a child. It's one of my favorites.
* I like that they both stayed faithful during their separation. I get why Dominic had to push her away. He was protecting her. It was painful for both.
* This book was an introduction to The Pit and the concept of Team Zero. I feel so bad for the children that were taken.
* Hades is so creepy. He's the villain of the story. I'm intrigued.
* The extended bonus epilogue. Finally, we get Dominic's point of view. I loved his point of view. We learn a bit more about her childhood, what he was thinking when he noticed Camille, and the time they spent apart:

“The day I kicked her out of my flat was the most torturous day of my existence. I had to be harsh with her and made her believe she meant nothing to me.
With every tear that fell from her eyes, I felt like being sliced open. The moment the door closed behind her, I could hear the crumbling pieces of my heart.
I cried that day.
I don’t remember crying when I was a kid. However, when I realised that I lost the one thing that gave meaning to my life, tears streamed down my cheeks.” He dreamt that night about her “ “and when I woke up to find her side of the bed empty, I wished for death. I never wished for death before.”

The extended epilogue ends the day their daughter Eloise is born with a "We were happy" 😭💔
* Hades gave Camille Type Omega when she was pregnant with Eloise. I wonder if that will have any repercussions on her or Eloise. In the epilogue, she said she felt fine but Dominic was always monitoring her health because of it. I hope they mention that later

The Bad:
Nothing.

----
Summary of the book:
Camille is a French girl who is living her summer adventure in London. She works as a Barista. In the café where she works, she notices a recurring customer, Dominic. She was raised by her mother and military father who taught her how to read people. She noticed Dominic is charming and has all the traits of a sociopath. Still, she is intrigued. Dominic noticed her watching and one day approached her to meet in a hotel for a one-night stand. Since she wants to live an adventure she meets him. She leaves when Dominic is busy with a phone call. Dominic was apparently interested in more because he sought her out a second time. Camille is reluctant but he insists and they meet in his apartment. They then pretty much start dating and she moves in with him. This lasts for about three months.

Dominic is a doctor who works in the research field. He's very mysterious and doesn't reveal much about what he is working on. We later find out that he is working on a drug "Type Omega" for our villain Hades. This drug is supposed to help him build his own army of assassins aka Team Zero at his organization called The Pit. Dominic is reluctant to keep working on the drug as Hades wants him to test it on children and doesn't care for the consequences. Hades uses Camille to pressure Dominic. Hades has been watching Dominic in hopes of finding a weakness and he knew Dom had fallen in love with Camille. Dominic and Camille had even planned on getting married and having children. Hades threatens Camille's life so Dominic pushes Camille away. She goes back to France with her parents. 5 months later Camille is pregnant with a baby girl but has not told Dominic. She is not planning to. One day Dominic goes to find her as he can't bear to stay away any longer. He notices Camille's belly and does the math. Camille is upset but they reconcile. They get married before their baby is born. Camille chooses the name Eloise for the baby. Dominic lives between London and France for his family's safety the girls stay in France and he travels back and forth between London and Marseille. The End.

"Muéstrame tu oscuridad, cariño. Cae.

I liked the idea of the book and how it showed the beginning of Team Zero being created. However, it didn’t spark much in me when reading.
As it was a short book, it was quite fast paced so there wasn’t much time to develop the characters and plot, especially as Camille and Dominic got together really quickly.
Camille also forgave him way too fast, even though it kinda made sense since he had a reason for breaking up with her. I just thought he could’ve explained the situation instead of breaking her heart💀
Not a bad book but nothing amazing

I've read Rina Kent's works before and they are some of the best I've come across, but Book I of Team Zero didn't do much for me..

It was basically:-
Plot • Smut • Smut • Smut • Plot

I felt zero connection to the characters and by Chapter 14, I was already tired of the smut scenes and had to skip a couple more chapters to finally reach the plot.
And there was hardly any of that.

I don't like the h, i hated her first approach to him and the reasons behind it.
I wished the plot was different, maybe a virgin heroine who is attracted to this man, without knowing about him,and find out later, you know ?
Just pass. it's superficial, i skip this.

This one has been painful to read because I accidentally read 'Crowed' first, which gave me a lot of spoilers. But I wanted to see it to the end. It has a tragic ending, not in this book, but in the subsequent books after this where it has interconnection.

I really don't know how to review this because I wa well aware how it will end. But they are the couple that have engraved their roots in my heart. Dominic and Camille are the perfect bond because of how they understand each other on terrifying level.

As Camille said that she is the masochist to his sadism. And I asure you that you will have plenty of their spicy deeds.

I was going to end this review in few lines but they are my favourite tragic couple. (Again, not in this book).

Not quite sure how to make of this. Insane chemistry between the two leads but I don't understand Camille. She identifies him as a sociopath but went ahead to meet him, ALONE, anyway?
