Eve is the daughter of a shipping mogul and has always had everything she ever wanted. She decides to ditch her security and go to Cancun where she ends up being kidnapped. Max volunteers to rescue Eve but he is surprised by the feelings he has for her. Fast paced read with loads of drama, suspense and steam. Great characters with sizzling chemistry and a story that draws you in from beginning to end. I loved it!

2.75 stars. My least favorite book in this series. I liked the drama part of the story however the romance just didn't click. How can you possibly have a romance/connection when you've been kidnapped, paraded around as a trophy and surrounded by women who have been kidnapped, beaten and sold and treated as a sex slave?!?! The romance imo was completely unbelievable! I like both main characters, loved Knox I just didn't enjoy the dynamics of this story. And can we just acknowledge that you get some questions answered but each story just leads to more questions and no answers so you have to read the next book. Can we get a conclusion in one book. Will we get the answers of how is Eve's dad involved & will they find the other sold girls!??!? I'm going to give one more book a chance then I'm going to go in a different direction for a while!

Eve Deverough is the kind of strong independent woman I like to read about in books. She is kidnapped and held hostage by an sex trafficker, Tomas Benefield. From the jump I started to suspect that there was more going on than just a simple grab and sell in Cancun. She is told that if her father pays her ransom she will be freed. For a large part of the book I thought she was targeted because of her family's wealth, but was she? She does what she has to do to survive and remain untouched. As the months go by she cant help but wonder why her father hasn't paid her ransom? Why has he knowingly left her with a vile sex trafficker?
Max, a Guardian, hasn't had the easiest life. He struggled academically due to Dyslexia, but excelled at anything physical. His physical strength makes the Navy one of his only options to make a better life.
Out of the Navy he is recruited to be a Guardian. They rescue people who are taken and give them their life back. They teach them to be self sufficient in all areas. As soon as he sees the picture of the pretty brunette his protective instincts come in full force. He realizes that he has seen her before as this case relates to a mission they just finished. When he finds out her father has been paying increasing ransom demands he knows her fate is not pretty if they don't get her out of there. The only way in is to pose as a buyer in need of a "slave" which goes against everything he believes in and will cause him to do and say some things that will change a person.
When Eve and Max collide sparks instantly fly. Unfortunately, Eve doesn't know that Max is just pretending to be a sadistic abusive sex trafficker. She doesn't understand her pure lust for such a disgusting individual. Max is trying to figure out whether or not she actually wants to be there. He doesnt know that standing next to Mr. Benefield "willingly" is the only thing keeping her mind and body intact and unbroken.
When it is revealed that Max and his bodyguard, Knox, were actually sent by her father to save her she falls apart. With the help of his team they escape into the jungle but not unscathed. Before Eve will leave the house she makes them go into Benefields office and get his journals which contain every detail of his sex trade. While she is gathering the journals she sees papers with her fathers name going back the last decade. Why does it look like her father is Benefields partner? Does that mean her father knew she was going to be kidnapped and let it happen? They spend a few days in the jungle running from Benefield and his men. While they are running the fall in love and do their best to survive. When Benefield catches up with her will Max be there to save her? Will she find out what her father really has to do with a sex trafficking ring? Will Max still want to be with her now that they are going back to their normal lives? This book is so freaking good. I have thoroughly enjoyed reviewing the Guardian Series. I love it when a woman finds herself and also finds her soul mate in the process. If you want action look no further... If you want a mystery look no further....If you want to fall in love this book will do it! You wont regret getting to know Eve and Max. So if the book is so great why did I leave a star off? Well the ONLY thing I didn't like in this book was the fact that by the end I STILL DIDNT know how Eve's father, Carson Deverough, was involved. I really dislike cliffhangers, but that's just my preference! Other than that small thing this book is an AMAZING READ!

Rescuing Eve by Ellie Masters is another highly charged emotional story about a rescue mission that is full of drama, danger, suspense, angst, heartbreak and passion. Max is the leader of Alpha One and a member of the Guardians, who volunteers to rescue Eve Deverough when she was kidnapped in Cancun by sex traffickers. Her father is a wealthy shipping mogul who is being used by her captors as he is being forced to pay numerous ransoms without his daughter ever being released. Now it is up to the Guardian Hostage Rescue Specialists to get her out. Eve fears her time is running out will she be the next woman auctioned off? Now she is left wondering why her father hasn't paid her ransom, but this determined young woman vows to fight for her freedom. Max is this edgy sexy alpha man who has high moral standards and respect for women is now on his way to Columbia to save Eve. The interaction between these two will be full of misunderstandings and underlying sexual tension. Max will have to pose as a buyer which will have Eve hating him with his overbearing brutal way he needs to interact with her in order to not blow his cover. Eve feels he is another entitled wealthy man who uses and abuses women for his own satisfaction and will fight him all the way. Max finds he is being tempted by his surroundings within The Retreat and the Oasis, can he resist the temptation?

How do they just keep getting better?!? Ellie has done it again with Rescuing Eve.
Kidnapped while on vacation in Cancun, Eve is taken to Columbia where a ransom is demanded of her shipping magnate father by the evil Tomas Benefield. Months go by, payments are made but Eve is not released. Finally her father calls in the Guardians to bring her home.
As Alpha One of the Guardians, the length of time Eve has been gone makes Max very suspicious about Eve's father. Adding to the concern is that she was taken at the same time as two previously rescued women saved by the Guardians, Zoe and Moira, all of whom found themselves in Columbia. When Max first lays eyes on the photo of Eve as part of their planning, something possessive shifts in him and he is determined to bring her home. In order to do so he must go undercover as a man who barters women to get an invitation from Benefield to an auction.
During her captivity Eve is treated differently than the other women at the "Retreat" where they are held. Due to the value placed on her and the money paid by her father she is not subjected to the horrors of the other women. Once she realized that perhaps her favored status may be coming to an end she has to make a difficult choice to save herself in order to survive in the world of Tomas Benefield.
Eve and Max meet at the Retreat and the chemistry is immediate although in Eve's mind because he is there to buy a woman, Max is no better than the man holding her. This is their story of survival.
This is my favorite so far of the Guardian series. Max and Eve are electric together and like the other books we also get a glimpse into others on the team, specifically Knox. What is so great about these stories is that they pick up right where the last one ended so it's one continuous story and evolves and changes with the characters.

This is book four in The Guardian Hostage Rescue Specialists Series and it is Eve and Max's story and omg what a absolute page turner. Eve is the daughter of a shipping mogul who is cold and distant so she decides to get away from her bodyguard and have fun in Cancun only to be kidnapped with other girls and be sold into slavery and this was definitely not what she had in mind but she needed to bide her time and see if there was any escape from this situation. Max is one of the leaders of the guardian rescue team and with his brother they rescued women in this situation and when he decided to go in as a monster and buyer to rescue Eve something that is against everything that he stands for he feels uneasy and hopes that he can get her out. Eve and Max have a connection and chemistry between them that is so strong but will they be able to get out alive and be able to have a chance of a future together. Omg these books are just getting better and better and each new story becomes my favourite. There are many twists and turns that you definitely don't see coming but that is what keeps you on the edge of your seat and turning the pages to see what would happen next and along with the emotional situations that are written with compassion. This book pulls you in right from the first page until the last and it is so addictive that I couldn't put it down. Ellie Masters is an amazing author and writer and she certainly knows how to keep her reader's attention and that is why I definitely recommend you read this book, series and other books by her and you will definitely not be disappointed.

A stunningly romantic book set in such a devastatingly hellish situation, this book will pull at all your emotional levers.
There is a lot to feel empathetic for Eve about, though a rich girl given every opportunity and grace in life, she has also known hurt when her mother died and now finds herself fighting for survival in the worst situation any woman might find herself. And they way she fights is so clever, so deceitful and wonderfully written that whilst you might accept what she has had to do merely a price to pay, you can’t help but be impressed by how she goes about it and the fortitude she demonstrates. When the inevitable happens she fights with such strength to still have some semblance of control and not be just used by the monster (who she doesn’t know is actually her protector)
Max is a wonder. Strong, steady and willing to do anything - even fight to the death for a woman he has barely met, hardly spoken to, had to pretend to be the total opposite of the man he is towards. He doesn’t let his fear that she will hate him forever stop him doing whatever he has to do to secure her freedom. And bubbles…..*sigh*. The respect and openness he had for her was just adorable to read.
And talk about instalove…..I do adore how these guardian boys jump in with their hearts firmly feet first.
A fantastic read from start to finish with the authors trademark all encompassing storytelling filling in the storyline from every angle and timeline needed.
The situation was dark, as is the series, but treated with respect and feeling.
Another awesome read 5* from me.

My heart is bursting. The pain, the unshed tears, the hopelessness, the struggle to survive. Eve knows that to survive, countless others will suffer unimagineable torture. It takes all the strength she can find and more, in the knowledge that all she is doing is buying herself time. That time could be hours or days but it will come.
Max, has taken part in many rescues, its what he and the other guardians do and do very well, but why from the moment he sees a picture of Eve does this feel different? This not like the other rescues, Max knows that this time to succeed he must become one of the monsters. Something which goes against everything that Max is and stands for. Max must play his part, watching his each and every move, each and every word.
When Eve and Max do meet, its like a huge storm, building up and building up just waiting for that moment to explode, to destroy anyone and everything in its path. Eve feels that Max is different from all the other monsters, yet he is one of them. The connection they both feel is dangerous. Max, despite what he feels for Eve must stick to his role, whilst Eve has no idea who he really is and cannot let herself open up and trust a monster.

I've just had my Guardian Protector fix and I'm very happy, these fierce Alpha males will do anything to protect those in need. Even infiltrating a Columbian human trafficking ring to rescue a kidnapped girl. These men are on a mission and nothing will stop them.
I love this series by Ellie Masters, it's action packed, very intense, with dark elements, dangerous missions and smoking hott romance. It has something for everyone and it's a must read for romantic suspense lovers.

Eve is such a strong character, who's literally been thrown to the wolves but she doesn't simply cower like you'd expect scared victims to do, she evolves and does whatever it takes to ensure her survival. I loved and admired that about her.
I really liked the slow burning chemistry between Eve and Max it strengthened their connection and added to sexual tension between them. I loved them together and wished we'd had more time with them.
I'm really excited that my two favourite characters from the series are next....Knox and Wolfe. I can't wait to see what Knox is packing ;)
I'm still very intrigued by Wolfe, he may just surprise us all...bring it on. 👏
I love this series by Ellie Masters, it's action packed, very intense, with dark elements, dangerous missions and smoking hott romance. It has something for everyone and it's a must read for romantic suspense lovers.

I absolutely adored this book. It was a non stop roller coaster ride from beginning to end. Just impossible to put down. I found Max and the boys just wonderful and this book in the similar vain to Janie Crouch and Susan Stoker. Just brilliant!
This was about Max, part of a team of ex seals who get back those that have been kidnapped. Eve is one such girl taken and the mystery, drama, suspense and intrigue behind this is just mammoth. The layers of the plot such as Eve with Tomas and her with Max and Knox. Just to name a couple of instances. Not to mention the team and behind the scenes working to get the job done. All valid points and given their own attention in this book.
Very well written, with fantastic characters, situations that are so weird, and suspense that doesn't let up.

Rescuing Eve is one heck of a rollercoaster ride. It's exciting and intense. It will make you gasp out loud and put you on the edge of your seat in anticipation of what could happen next. Ellie Masters knows how to thrust her readers right smack dab into the action by painting remarkably vivid word pictures. I liiterally could not put this book down. It was the wee small hours when I read the last word on the last page.
Max is a protector and all Alpha male. He is 100% Guardian. It's what he was born to do. Eve grew up privileged. She learned refinement and how to be dignified in all circumstances. She's also a survivor and doing what she has to do now she's in the hands of a monster. All it took was seeing a picture of Eve for Max to be captivated. When Eve meets him for the first time she is inexplicably drawn to him. But wait, he's depraved just like all of the others who come to The Retreat. Convincing her he's not may be harder than rescuing her.

From page 1 this book was intense. The saying, "walking on egg shells" doesn't begin to describe how Eve was living her life one step, one hallway, one hour, one day at a time under the watchful eyes of Mr. Benefield. Several times I caught myself as I wanted to yell at Eve, "don't go down that hall, don't go out into that garden, don't go for a run on that path." I read in fear for Eve. Max? I tensed up, expecting him to push to hard, be to bold, to generally screw up. I know this is Max and Eve's story, but the watchful eye of Knox was a beautiful thing! And the Alpha Guardian team worked together better than a well oiled machine. They moved fluidly as one. The week for Max and Eve was the equivalent of a hundred years in the emotions that Eve felt towards Max. For reasons I can't share (would be spoiler), I truly choose Rescuing Eve as my favorite of the Guardian Hostage Rescue Specialist series! But I'm anxiously awaiting Knox's story!

This is the fourth book in the Guardian Hostage Rescue Specialists series. This book has everything. Danger, intrigue, mystery and of course, romance. Ellie Masters has definitely woven a story that I couldn't put down. Evelyn Deverough was on Spring break in Cancun, Mexico. Everything was fine until it wasn't. She was snatched off the street in broad daylight. The "paradise" she's been transported to is the stuff of nightmares. Eve has been trained from a young age never to show her emotions. This skill has served her well when she is dealing with the madman in charge of her current situation. Max, leader of Alpha team, feels something deep inside the minute he sees Eve's picture. He and his team are determined to rescue her no matter what. He will battle the devil himself in order to bring Eve home. Max and Eve will do whatever it takes to get the HEA they deserve. Sorry, no spoilers. I received this ARC and here is my honest review.

She was the daughter of a wealthy shipping magnate and instead of training and selling her, her captor, Tomas Benefield, was asking for a ransom. He kept telling her that her father didn't pay, when in fact, almost $30,000,000 was paid, but she was not released. He finally contacted The Guardians to get her back. Max was tasked with going undercover as a slave buyer to get close to Eve with Knox acting as his bodyguard...but was she a captive or was she complicit in her captivity since she walks freely about the enclave and seems to be Tomas' confidant and companion...but all is not as it seems, so you will need to read this story to see if two former SEALS can take on a small army in the jungle...I voluntarily read this book through an Advanced Reader Copy..

There is a point in this book at which my heart broke for Eve, and you’ll know it when you get to it. A courageous woman, Eve is alert for any opportunity to escape, aware of what her fate is if she doesn’t, and, at her core, terrified of this happening. And Max – the Guardians are… well, they’re who I’d want on my side. The blurb has the basic story, and I won’t repeat it, but this is a book that takes some courage from the reader too, to read about the “broken” girls – never explicit but my imagination could fill in the blanks and their treatment was horrific. Believe me, you will want to know more when you’ve finished – and I’m on tenterhooks to find out more about Benefield’s business partner. We have brief glimpses of Forest and Sara too, which is always a treat, and there is some more insight into the different teams of Guardians and their focus.

This has been one of the most amazing series I have come across in years! The strong yet gentle at heart alpha hero, Max, is someone we all dream would swoop in to the rescue and Eve…. Oh yes, she may seem like she is the desperate little pampered princess needing to be saved, but she will shock you will her desire to survive and in the end, grow even stronger. Ellie Masters has continued to weave such an amazing and oh so gripping series filled with some of the best characters ever!!! Totally swoon worthy alpha heroes, strong heroines who will fight their way free, heart pounding suspense and action that will have you flipping the pages all through the night, and all the feels of a romantic connection that although hard fought, will be so worth it in the end! Truly a masterpiece! Highly recommended!!!!

I have greatly enjoyed all of this series – this one is a bit different as our heroine has a greater ability to affect to results while still being in a very precarious situation. The dynamics between these characters and the tension and intrigue make this a phenomenal read!!

Wow this is another fantastic installment of the Guardian Hostage Resxue Specialist Series. An excellent read with plenty of danger, heat and the unthinkable. We are back in the search for human traffickers and trying to find Eve, daughter of a weathy man. She was one of the woman alonag with Moira who were kidnapped right off the streets. They weren't in the same place at the time they were kidnapped. Her future is uncertain and believes she'll never be free of her monster owner. Loved Max's character, he is defintely a strong alpha males and leader of his team. He'll do whatever it takes to get her back, he's become obsessive about it, but in a good way. HEA. Recived this book for a voluntary review.

OMG --- this is the next installment in Ellie Masters Guardian Series and it is FANTASTIC!!!!!! Quick paced, full of intrigue, angst, and of course the heartfelt romance between the hero and the heroine. The buildup to the rescue of Eve was AWESOME!!! Perfectly paced without rushing or dragging. I loved it!!!! We get more clues for the next books on who the bad guys are. Can't wait for the rest. I need to get to the bad guys demise!!! This is a wonderful story and is 4th in the series. Please start with Rescuing Zoe to get to know all the characters.

I am loving this series. Rescuing Eve is the fourth book in the Guardian Hostage Rescue Specialists series and it is one intense, action packed page turner from the beginning to the very end. This romantic suspense read is Eva and Max's story in a very unconventional situation. Eva is a woman that is strong and does what needs to survive her situation, and Max is a man that knows what he wants and keeps his moral standard throughout this story. The connection they form despite their situation is one that is intense, sizzling, and that grows in strength day by day. Ellie Masters continues to amaze me with her stories in this series and puts a spotlight on a very heart-breaking real world problem.

"Onward and upward." Each book in this series is better than the last. Eve is in trouble, but she's making the best of her situation and it's tearing her apart day by day. Max is sent in to recover her, but it's not as easy as they had hoped. I was on edge the whole book, each page brought a different emotion and thoughts for the characters. Loved the intensity of the poker game, loved the banter between the guys, and "bubbles", loved the insight about silence in the jungle, and loved the chicken bus. Totally loved "Energizer Guardian Bunny". Always a pleasure to read this series or any book by this author.

Another emotional rollercoaster of emotions from Ellie's masterful story telling mind.
What a strong and determined woman Eve is, she is trapped in a nightmare situation and protects herself by accepting the unacceptable. She desperately wants to be rescued and can't believe her instincts when her white knight arrives in the shape of her Guardian.
I love how this story drops even more background into the horrific trade in innocent girls. I look forward to watching the empire be destroyed in the next few books.
