"She's actually a woman. She just presents herself as a male in her profile pic and author notes. ;-) I had to confirm with Japan myself. :-D " - Jennifer LeBlanc, SuBLime editor
SIDE:A Smells Like Green Spirit 1 / スメルズライクグリーンスピリット
In this second volume, the story starts to explore more about Nagisa, so it’s not just focused on Yanagida’s life.
And like I predicted, the disturbing elements in this volume have ramped up. You really need to be in a good mental state, or at least be in a really zen mood, to read this.
Even though Nagisa’s background hasn’t been fully revealed yet, I’m already feeling pretty sick just thinking about how this could be happening in real life. What Nagisa goes through is truly heartbreaking, and I’d call it a tragedy. The fact that he’s even able to survive is honestly amazing to me.
I’m not sure if I want to continue reading the third volume or not, especially since the second volume ends with Nagisa meeting someone who seems shady. It left me feeling pretty desperate.
