Coastal Culprit is an intriguing and suspenseful mystery novel set in the backdrop of Virginia's Eastern Shore. The main character, Michael "Murph" Murphy, finds himself entangled in a web of snake oil peddling fake preachers with hidden agendas and a series of murders that all seem to point back to him.
As Murph digs deeper into this dark and complex world of corporate greed, family business politics, and tax evasion, you can expect a thrilling and suspenseful story. The stakes are high as Murph races against time to uncover the identity of the killer or killers before he becomes the next victim.
Coastal Culprit offers a blend of mystery and intrigue in a vivid setting, making it a great addition to the best-selling Coastal Adventures Series. It can be enjoyed as a standalone novel even if you haven't read the previous books in the series.
Hi! Glad you took the time to read about me, though my Coastal Adventure Series is really much more interesting. But hey, click my "Follow" button and see what kind of trouble I get into. It beats reading the newspaper! (I try to stay out of those these days...)
I was born in Palm Beach County, Florida, and escaped in Y2K, 40 years and 1.1 million new neighbors later. I hate crowds, and by then the lines at the boat ramps on the weekends were hell... Anyway, in my early twenties I crewed on sportfishing boats. I started flying when I was old enough to see over the instrument panel and got my license at 16. I've logged time in over two dozen types of aircraft. I got my start as a real estate investor in my latter 20's. I've owned retail stores and was even a small-town mayor once. Why? I'm still asking myself that question now, several decades later.
When I moved to Virginia, I fell in love with the Chesapeake Bay, the Eastern Shore (VA & MD), as well as the Outer Banks of North Carolina, and that's why my books are set in this area. I write books because it's fun. I create characters that I enjoy 'spending time with' because I write every day.
You're still here? If I haven't put you to sleep or chased you away by now, please feel free to click the button next to the "Follow" one and send me a "Friend" request. Like Belushi said about grabbing a beer in the opening scene of Animal House: "Don't cost nuthin'!"
I've read all of Don Rich's books and have become a huge fan of his Coastal Adventure Series. In Coastal Culprit, the 7th book in the series, Rich tackles the controversial subject of television ministry, and does so extremely well. He creates a number of interesting characters that take readers on a wild ride weaving deceit, fraud, excess, and murder into a plot that will keep most of them guessing. For Rich's fans, it's important to note that the familiar crew of Mallard Cove regulars are all present. However, just as important, it should be stressed that knowledge of the earlier books in this series is not necessary to enjoy this novel. Rich does a great job slowly introducing those staple characters to his new readers. This is a terrific story that's really hard to put down!
Preachers, large yachts, marriage with mystery and intrigue
Don Rich introduces a group of preachers who are ordained under suspicious methods to take advantage of IRS TAX benefits investing in properties. All is not good among this group as they turn against each other dragging our favorite Marina characters into the action.
One Televangelist who sold his show to the other group has bought the largest yacht available from the new Mallard Brokerage Group. Disputes break out which places the action at the facility. Don Rich, using Eastern Shore of the Chesapeake Bay as the location, weaves the mystery along with some good fishing action. Throw in a Wedding, Man Overboard, lost in the Bay, some personal dispute drama and Rich has provided a book not to put down until finished. Recommended Five ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Star

If you like boats, fishing and coastal mysteries, Don's books are a must. He puts you right there, rod in hand, feeling the ocean breeze brushing over your face. Culprit is no exception with greedy bad guys, the familiar Mallard Cove crew and crazy boat chases. A great addition to his wonderful series.
It is Murph's turn to have a headache, and not from vodka. There are reverends all over the place and most seem to be misinterpreting the Word for their own profit. Well Murph sold one of them a boat. Someone doesn't like all these guys spreading false doctrine. Some of them won't be. Lot's of action in this one, told in a way that only Don Rich can tell it.
Don's latest book is just another example of his excellent story telling. The tales just get RICHER and RICHER. (Yes, Pun Intended) You won't want to put this one down, so grab it and settle in for a pgae turner.
I really enjoyed this book, each novel by Don Rich gets better and better. I liked the couple of new chareacters and the overall plot. Now I have to wait until the next book comes out.
Who killed the Mole and why??? Figure that out and you might figure out who is after the others!!! George??? I enjoyed this story and recommended the book.
