A compelling story about love, loss, secrets, lies and ultimately Hope.......
Some secrets are too terrible to hide.
When Hope's perfect life is derailed by a devastating twist of fate, she starts to lose control.
Plagued by strange dreams and memories of the childhood home she left behind long ago, Hope embarks on a journey to rediscover the truth behind her fear of butterflies.
Will she find peace at last or will she find the truth more painful than the lie?
Not only was this a great, interesting book that sometimes made me cry, it was so full of surprising twists that really kept me guessing until the end. Can't wait for the prequel.
Loved the roller coaster of emotions on Hope's journey of self discovery and her search to find out about her traumatic childhood. Read this book in one day, just couldn't put it down. Highly recommend. Can't wait till the next one.
Great job Nicole, well done You kept me engaged, not a book you'll want to put down, it flows nicely and had me hooked, I look forward to reading your next book. Thank you xx
Brilliant book only just started reading again after about 30 years glad I choose this book it kept me interested all the way through can’t wait to read China doll
When tragedy strikes her mother, Helen, Hope runs away from the beautiful Cornish town of Port Merdow to build her own life. She becomes a respected architect with a loving husband until problems in her life drive her back home. In order to move on with her life, she needs to come face to face with her past to find peace. Thorne has written an intriguing novel that I found hard to put down. The only thing that could have made it better was a good edit.
The cover grabbed me first, the story then sunk its hooks in. I found myself getting quite emotional reading this. A gripping read that forces you to turn the pages, as we learn about Hope's life little by little. My heart broke for her as her life fell apart, but it was wonderful watch her on her journey to finding herself again. I loved the descriptive writing and the way the author bonded you to Hope. Great Read.
Fantastic book from start to finish. Some lovely funny moments in this book but also deals with some really difficult and emotional issues along the way. Thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and will definitely look forward to the prequel.
This is a good book that hits home for me. When you have struggled with having a baby you just feel alone and misunderstood. This book gives you the side of the story that many of us women miss because of the pain we feel it also gives us home
Brillaint, very well written you know when you read a good book and you finish loving the journey, really enjoyed following Hope through her real life journey even if she is a fictional character, I recommend reading this if you enjoy real emotional stories.
