4 1/2 Stars. I really enjoyed Devil's Rock, so I was excited to read this book. Andrea and Cameron, make a great couple so I'm happy Hill wrote more books with them. And while I really liked Devil's Rock, this book was even better. It's a little more high octane and heart pounding. Quite a few exciting situations that keeps the reader on their toes.
Andrea and Cameron travel to the California desert to track down a serial killer that is decapitating bodies. They don't have a lot to go on, but desperately want to catch him before he kills again. As they get closer to the killer, the more dangerous it becomes. This time they might not both make it out alive.
As we saw Andrea and Cameron fall in love in Devil's, this book was about their relationship. Can it handle the stress and danger of the job, while also handling the outside influence of other people. Hill, was able to keep the chemistry up, and she kept the sex scenes steamy. This book was a good mix of continuing their love story and a thriller crime book.
I will be reading Angel Fire eventually. I know that book has some mixed reviews, but I'm not ready to say goodbye to Cameron and Andrea yet. This is an easy book to recommend, but you need to read Devil's Rock first. These books really are some of Hill's best, so don't pass them up.

Loved this book and it was even better than Devil's Rock. Great couple as main characters and interesting side characters too. There are some tense moments in this book that got my adrenaline flowing. Excited to see what the next book is like. I will, however, need to get some sleep first because I stayed up half the damn night reading this one.

I’m sure some people didn’t like the first book as much because the crime was secondary to the mains’ relationship. This one is heavy on the crime now that the mains are established. Another great listen.

Hell’s Highway turned out to be even better than Devil’s Rock, which I already really enjoyed. It’s faster, darker, and features a case that genuinely keeps the tension cranked up. Andrea and Cameron head into the California desert to hunt a serial killer, and the closer they get, the more dangerous and personal it becomes. At several points I honestly wasn’t sure they’d both make it out alive.
Where Devil’s Rock was about them falling in love, this book is about whether that love can survive the pressure of the job, constant danger, and outside interference. The chemistry is still very much there, the relationship deepens, and Hill balances the romance and the crime thriller elements really well. The serial killer plot is tightly paced, unsettling, and throws in a few twists I didn’t see coming.
We’re also introduced to a new team, all distinct and likeable, which adds depth without pulling focus from Andrea and Cameron. Yes, there's a few bits that are unrealistic, but it didn’t detract from my enjoyment.
I listened to the audiobook, and once again Abby Craden delivers a fantastic performance. I’m not quite ready to say goodbye to these characters yet, so Angel Fire is definitely on my list to listen to very soon. An easy recommendation, but read Devil’s Rock first.

Pulse pounding, serial killer terror, and two main characters who are competent and hot. Second book in the series and even better than the first. Andréa and Cameron are professional FBI agents who are partners off and on duty. A cast of characters intersect with them and make for lively discussions and action. Computer algorithms make it a bit unbelievable but that’s just my opinion. This book is a great treat to read. Love Gerri Hill as an author.

An excellent sequel to Devil’s Rock in the Ross and Sullivan series. The mystery was gripping and full of twists and drama! And it was great to see the continuing romance between Agents Ross and Sullivan!

In Hell's Highway , we meet FBI agent Cameron Ross and her newly minted FBI partner/lover Andrea Sullivan as they hunt down another serial killer, this time in Southern California. Together they must work out the professional nature of their partnership, the danger of their profession, and their burgeoning relationship.
Looking at these reviews, I'm in the minority in saying that I enjoyed Devil's Rock more than this one! But I did liked this one enough. I liked seeing Cameron and Andi more settled into their relationship. It was domestic and sweet but still steamy. It's always fun to see the women excel at their jobs and catch bad guys. Towards the end I felt like the thriller was dragging on a bit and I didn't feel as sucked into this story. I found the computer algorithms a bit convenient for the plot but it’s fiction and what do I really know about police work LOL 🤷♀️
TL;DR-A solid installment of the series. Great to see a strong romance and a compelling thriller from Gerri Hill as always. 3/5 stars.

I didn’t think it was possible but I liked this book even more than the first, “Devil’s Rock”. Agent Cameron Ross feels more real in this story. The character has smoothed out a bit. That’s not to say that the character is not edgy and interesting, but more along the lines that her personality is more well rounded. My guess is that is a direct reflection of the relationship between the two characters Cameron Ross and Andrea Sullivan. As the reader I was completely absorbed in their search for the serial killer and what would happen next.
I can only hope that this turns into a full blown series.

Action Packed!
I’ve read the previous book and I would recommend doing so to people who may not have. It gives you a good background to the relationship/chemistry of these two badasses. Fair warning, this is a book with a series killer and there are some disturbing situations with detail as to what happened with the victims. That being said, my heart was beating hard at times and it seemed like I was right their with them, adrenaline pumping. Recommend if you like crime stories with some love mixed in.

#2 was even better. Action, thrill, terror, mystery and romance everything was contained. I wanted more information about the killer. I needed a reason why he became a monster.

Once again ... between 2.5 and 3 stars. This is a sequel to Devil's Rock, with Cameron and Andi as the main characters. This time they team up with another group of FBI agents, investigating a series of headless corpses that are found on Interstates travelling through the Mojave desert. There's still some suspension of disbelief around the set up for their travels and the crimes, but I do like Hill's writing and read it in two sittings. Like In the Name of the Father, this book has the characters firmly established as a couple and as partners and I think it works better now that they have the initial angst behind them. Despite some of the leaps of logic, the mystery itself was stronger and perhaps a bit more believable.

A good sequel in the Ross & Sullivan series.
Hopefully it will not be the last part.
After reading "the Hunter's Way Series" and the more recently published "Johnston & Riley series" I must admit that I'm becoming a big fan of Gerri Hill. Again with this series, she shows that a perfect balance between thriller and romance is possible.
I love the characters that Ms. Hill creates. The so called "wounded souls" like Tori Hunter and Cameron Ross are very appealing to me.
She always knows how to match these wonderful butch characters with gentle but strong women like Samantha Kennedy and Andrea Sullivan. The couples Ms. Hill creates are realistic and interesting. There is a lot of " breaking down walls and healing wounded hearts" going on. She creates very emotional love story's, exactly to my taste.
So if you like a good serial killer suspense story and you also like to read about great and "hot" lesbian romance. Make sure you try this and other Series from Gerri Hill.

Yasss Cameron and Ross return in this sequel to Devils Rock. We get to see them work in a team setting instead of as just the two of them (which we know they excel at and only seem to get better at). I really enjoy how in love they are and how even though they try to hide it almost everyone can see it after being with them for a few hours. Andy helps calm Cameron. They really compliment each other while investigating. Andy helps reel Cameron in with the locals and Cameron is an amazing agent. Cameron is scared though. Everyone she’s loved or cared for has died. She doesn’t want to lose Andy as well. I love them together.
Another excellent murder mystery in this story as well. All the twists and turns kept me on the edge. I thought they had the bastard several times!

It's nice to see what happens next with a pair of characters after they've gotten together in an earlier book. Hill did a good job of exploring their new relationship in the context of another hunt for a killer.

It’s been a few weeks after the Devil's Rock events (I recommend reading that one first to better understand the characters), Andrea and Cameron are on the new serial killer case. I'm glad that there was no big time jump between the first and the second book, so we can still see how their relationship develops, how they learn to work and live together.
We also meet a new team. Each one of them was unique and I liked them all.
The serial killer case was interesting, the story well-paced and intense. There were a few turns of events that I hadn't seen coming. And for a moment there, I thought that the author would do to Andrea the same thing she did to Sam, thankfully no.
I did find it a bit unrealistic that everybody immediately was so okay with Cameron and Andrea's being work partners and having a relationship. But that didn't make the story less enjoyable. They still had the chemistry, but also were able to develop a deeper connection and test their love while being professional at their job.
I love a good nicely wrapped-up story and we have it here. I highly recommend it for all the fans of Devil's Rock or just anyone who loves mystery/love stories.

A sequel to Devil's Rock and another murder mystery that matches it in intensity. I seldom read murder mysteries like these but these two books were really good. The cases both progressed with such suspense and the chase were as intense.
Despite all that, it's amazing how the author managed to show the bond between Cameron and Andrea so strongly. I really liked how there wasn't any angst to clog up the mystery plot that was unfolding.
All in all, these books amazed me.

Exciting! I love Cameron and Andrea, together. I was seeing a lot of parallels to Gerri's treatment of Tori Hunter and Samantha Kennedy, but that is actually a good thing, because I love them too. I read a little out of order here, finishing Angel Fire before beginning on this one. I always get so worried for the more feminine characters in Ms Hill's novels, as they invariably end up in trouble. No spoilers here, but hang onto your hats, girls.

I liked the new friendships that developed on this crazy adventure. I enjoy who the author does not just wrap up each case but instead makes them more complex and keeps you waiting to see which direction they are going to turn.
I'm glad to now be ready for the third book in this series, and the 4th in the original series I had started. I can only imagine how both these books collide in one story with 4 amazing, powerful, bad ass women.

Not as good as Devil’s rock, in my opinion, but still was pretty decent. I did find the theme of the highway trucker serial killer to be quite predictable and recycled. But, to be fair this was published in 2011 when that was the main narrative for serial killer books/tv shows (shout out to Criminal Minds) so it’s expected.
Very well written, especially the chemistry and relationship between Andrea and Cameron. I wish they were more books about them!

Second in series
FBI agents Cameron and Andrea are off to search for another serial. This one beheads women and drops their headless bodies off interstate highways. Audrey has to deal with a new member to Reynolds team, a former lover of Carina. Lots of tension and erotic romance. Recommend Series and author.

Another great book
This the 2nd book in this series and I love it. I have the third book on audible and have listened to it three times already but since reading this one I will be listening to it again. Highly recommend her books.

This was pretty fast paced with some good action sequences. I liked the development of the relationship between the two main characters. Call me morbid, but I especially liked the case they were following in this one. Great little read.

The reviews from other readers were right — it really is better than the first one! And emotional drain! Agh! And boy, the sparks between Cameron and Andrea are even brighter than ever. Smoking. Hot.
