An awesome book 😁
The two story parts were both suspenseful and well written. Though I have to admit that I found the story line including the main character Lasgol less interesting than the other one. And I’m starting to get annoyed by Onas chirping. I mean she is a snow panther!!!!!!!! Not a bird 😑😑😑😑
I loved that egil finally got some plot time. We didn’t get to see much of him in the previous books. Also Nilsa and Gert were well included and for the first time we really got to know them.
There is one thing that annoyed me however, apart from Onas annoying chirping.
Those super long, useless and awkward talks inbetween. No teenagers would talk in that manner. (😉 )
And they talk about the most ridiculous and stupid stuff too!
They are in the middle if some super important mission and all of the sudden they talk about what a big numbskull viggo is or how much they all love one another or about how amazing this plan is and works and so on. That wouldn’t be a bad thing if it was written well and not randomly. I can’t really explain it all that well.
Sometimes I just get the impression that the author uses copy and paste to write those small but seemingly endless dialogues…
Nonetheless I live the series so Imma still give it a four star rating 😂😂😂😂 I know it’s stupid

He leído por ahí que se puede catalogar esta rama del fantástico como cozy fantasy. Y ahora que lo dice, justo es así...es fantasía celta, sí... pero a lo cozy.
Pues este libro fue muy interesante a pesar de la división en 2 tramas, siendo la de Lasgol, con mucho, la menos interesante de las dos.
Como se venía barruntando, la enfermedad del otro pobre tenía truco... aunque uno muy sorprendente.
Parece que la diversidad de enemigos de los protagonistas empiezan a confluir en una especie de causa común aún por resolver, así que aunque se aclaró el caso de la enfermedad y el caso del pago por su cabeza, que ambas cosas tengan que ver y además estén relacionadas con los guardabosques oscuros me ha descolocado un poco. Intrigada. GL Bis (Sendero guardabosques)

Esta saga es un maravilla. Los personajes son puros de corazón, un cozy fantasy de los buenos; Lasgol y compañía son casi tan de la familia como Ron y Harry.

No sé muy bien por dónde empezar, pero decir que me ha encantado.
No me termina de convencer lo de separar la historia en dos grupos, pero creo que ha sido una muy buena idea. Como siempre voy a empezar diciendo algún problemilla que veo, especialmente en la narrativa, como he hecho con los anteriores libros.
Hay un problema con el personaje de Egil, no por cómo está construido sino por cómo está expuesto. Me explico: es un personaje que destaca precisamente por su inteligencia. Sin embargo, en muchas ocasiones, los momentos en los que hace uso de ese gran valor, son momentos en los que lo que está diciendo no es nada súper inteligente que los demás del grupo no hubieran podido descubrir por su propio mérito. Eso no hace que Egil parezca listo, más bien hace que los demás parezcan un poco idiotas. Y puede que a un personaje le cueste, pero a todos… lo siento, pero no.
Quitando a Egil y, quizá, a Viggo e Ingrid, los demás personajes siguen sin tener un avance acorde a su edad. Siguen siendo las mismas personas que entraron con 15 años. Tiene que avanzar más aquí.
Ahora bien, gran, pero gran avance, en la exposición de la historia. Como he dicho antes, quitar protagonismo a Lasgol no es algo que esperaba y no sé todavía si me convence o no, pero ha sido una idea que ha salido muy bien. Ha logrado mantener el peso de la intriga de las dos tramas muy bien hasta el final, callando cuando tenía que callar y dejando que el lector llegue a sus propias conclusiones para terminar el final con un buen lacito. Ahora bien, que sea o no predecible, es otra cosa. A mi me lo ha parecido, pero tampoco me parece nada descarado.
Ha sabido reponer la historia que se había perdido un poco en el octavo libro, ha mejorado mucho en cosas que se me hacían criticables y, para variar, estoy deseando de seguir con el siguiente.

Tan adictivo como los anteriores. Y la cosa se está poniendo buena.
Es agradable y extraño el cambio de seguir a 2 grupos, alejándonos un poco de Lasgol, pero lo he disfrutado mucho.

I'm impressed that at book number 9 in the series I'm still totally invested in these characters and what might happen to them next. But that being said, this was probably my least favourite of the series so far.
The only negative I have against this book is the racial descriptions the characters offer to each other when they comment (extremely negatively) on the differences between them and the people from neighbouring nations. Now, obviously this is a fantasy novel, but nonetheless, there were some uncomfortable descriptors of how "ugly" (etc.) some races were, and yet it felt like there were clear parallels drawn between the real culture/race that nation was based on. So I admit, that put a bit of sour taste in my mouth from about halfway through.
But that aside, I'm putting some faith in Urvi that that wasn't intended, as he usually puts out good messages in his books. I felt like Urvi was trying to use Egil in these moments to critique the others when they used terminology like "strange" and "ugly" in derisive ways to suggest that it's just different to what they're used to - but it didn't quite land.
What really took this down to 3 stars for me, was that not a lot truly happens in this book. It's the most "filler" vibing of the series so far.
While I did love that we got waaay more Egil time than we've had for a while, and that all characters (Val included) are involved in this instalment, there was a lot of walking towards the adventure, and not a tonne of the adventure itself.
I did enjoy the split POV of the book - with Gerd, Nilsa, Val and Egil heading up one POV, and Lasgol, Viggo, Ingrid and Astrid the other. The whole narrative very much so tied into previous events, and I feel it sets the stage for some big adventures to come. So while I don't feel this warrants a particularly high rating, I suspect it's doing some heavy-lifting to make book 10 come in with a bang.
The other thing has does rub me up the wrong way is the icky-ness of the OTT lovey-dovey relationship between Lasgol and Astrid. I cannot work out if it's just how the narrator does their scenes, but jesus these guys are so serious about how in love they are for teenagers. I'm lowkey batting for Val and hoping she wins over Lasgol because I can't stand the pet names Lasgol has for Astrid and vice versa lol.
ANYWAY. I think this does have a few tonal issues for dealing with neighbouring kingdoms and the descriptions of the people, and I hope it doesn't have a repeat appearance in the remaining books. But it was fun to get out and do some serious exploring of what the other kingdoms in their world have to offer - and I hope we get to go back to them!

Splitting the adventure in two was a win for this series. You get to see all your favorite characters and have two different anxiety attacks hoping things turn out ok. The plot twist, in the end, hurt my heart for some of the characters but leaves a lot of room for further intrigue. Excellent read.

I loved how it was mostly from Egil’s quest’s POV rather than Lasgol’s stupid “damsel in distress rescue”. I’m pretty sure that saved this book from getting two rather dull stars. I did however miss Lasgol’s “little siblings” aka his animal companions (I’m fairly sure I only like Lasgol for his animals lol).
The whole Dark Rangers thing seems to be falling into place finally along with the assassination attempts so that’s nice, I’m ready for some new “mysteries” and plot points. Although I have to say that the “plot twists” and reveals in this book were disappointing, there wasn’t even much foreshadowing except like one thing and the answers just seemed to come from nowhere and had no actual backing.
CHARACTERS
~ Egil was in this one more! I will always adore him and his insane cunning is fun to watch unfold. He had a darker side in this one which I thought was awesome. You can also tell he’s figuring out who he is more and I think that’ll play a huge part in later books.
~ I love Gerd too, but I do wish his giant-like size wasn’t mentioned after every mention of his name. I feel like something going to happen with him soon, I’m not quite sure what that might be but we’ll see I guess.
~ I personally love Val although from the second she was introduced in the second book I’ve suspected she’ll betray them at some point. I’m guessing that betrayal is creeping closer since she’s becoming more of an MC now but despite this I really do still love her. She’s flirtatious and bold, a little morally grey although still just and has a big appetite.
~ Nilsa was alright as usual. I like her more now than I did at first but I really wish she would have some character development in the “filthy magic” area.
~ Lasgol wasn’t in this one much and I’m glad, a series this long doesn’t need to be from one character’s POV otherwise you risk it getting dull (and it is).
~ Viggo seemed the same as always and so did Ingrid so I’m just smushing them into one section along with Astrid.
I will say it again: Lasgol and Astrid have no chemistry. It’s getting annoying. Astrid’s only purpose in these books is to be Lasgol’s lover despite her having the potential to be an awesome character of her own. So either get rid of her or give her a legitimate purpose of her own.
One problem I had was that the Panthers sounded very racist in this one. Not about skin color but they called a lot of people savages and barbarians and a lot of other more offensive things despite the fact that their own people are literally the same or worse. They also made fun of the neighboring kingdom’s inhabitants lack of height and I didn’t like it. Also these problems were repeated throughout the book and not just simply said once, it was a frequent topic of discussion and I don’t want to see it repeated in another book.

When he very least member of a group shoes his true strength - every one is stunned .
This is book 9 and this series just keeps getting better and more interesting! Engle - the least of the 6 members of rangers in the group called the Snow Panthers - are a strong connection - but the now Librarian of the Ranger Camp - proves several times on a mission- he has been strengthening His reasoning and endlesly gaining new knowledge in that vast library he is assigned to..
The way Engel directed and planed their moves and carried out his own part in their mission - totally shocked the members of his own group....
They were seeing him as someone they diden't recognize !
But at the same time saw him proving that he knew how to get results and lead on Engel more and more !
Engel is showing amazing skills in decisions that others are unwilling to make ! He leads His group to totally succeed their many goals and brings his adventurous group back from a various dangerous mission to save 5he life of their Camp leader who is dying and must risk every thing to survive this very trying journey with many unexpected situations !!
A masterfully done story of friends trying with determination to look after each member 8n their group to survive and to help rescue some on in greater need at deaths door back home !
I found every book satisfying my own adventurous desires and never let me down .
This book is filled with enteresting and beloved ones who find they are many times amazed at their own accomplishments and who have become that has changed their very lives!!
Friends are very valuable and many times are even more than family!
This series is growing deeper and better with every volume !!
Its my 5 star rating because it dazzled entertained and never could guess what was about to happen ! I like this part about this series !!

Este libro me ha dejado un sabor agridulce.
Empezó mal, muy mal. Aburrido a más no poder. Tenía tanto relleno que llega a ser un peluche y explotaba por las costuras. Páginas y páginas de diálogos que solo servían para repetir una y otra vez cosas que ya se dijeron en el libro 8 y en anteriores y que no aportaban nada ni a la trama general ni a la historia de los personajes. Llegó hasta el absurdo punto de que en un mismo capítulo pero en momentos diferentes los personajes repetían el MISMO diálogo que ya habían tenido al principio de ese mismo capítulo... Para mí eso restó muchos puntos al libro, me pareció extremadamente excesivo.
Peeeero, por suerte, a partir de más o menos el 30% del libro en adelante Pedro Urvi deja de hacer el copia/pega de repeticiones que tiene ya listo en un Word aparte y la trama remonta, mejora y se hace muy entretenida de leer. Desarrolla muy bien la tensión de la historia, las incógnitas y lo hace en el ritmo adecuado.
El avance y madurez de los personajes (exceptuando Lasgol y Nilsa) se va notando y acompañando la edad que tienen. Da gusto ver como algunos se vuelven personas diferentes y mucho más interesantes a cómo eran cuando entraron por primera vez al Campamento, sobre todo Egil.
Nilsa me sigue sobrando y me parece que no aporta nada en toda esta historia.

¡IMPRESIONANTE!
Es un honor seguir leyendo esta pedazo de saga, que solo deseo no acabarla nunca.
En esta ocasión nuestros protagonistas se separan una vez más para hacernos partícipes a los lectores en dos misiones muy importantes:
1) Recuperar a Astrid en el Reino Turquesa.
2) Intentar salvar la vida del líder del Campamento que tanto he querido en los ocho primeros libros. El motivo es porque ayudó a los Guardabosques del Oeste, sin importarle lo que dirían de él.
No ha habido mucho romance, pero no importa ya que lo ha sustituido en mucha más acción y aventuras. Además, he visto un cambio de personalidad de Egil que me ha enamorado, que ya no es el débil de antes, en esta ocasión nos demuestra su valentía, su fuerza y sobre todo su inteligencia.
Con muchas ganas de seguir leyendo y saber que ocurre con todos los personajes y con los Guardabosques Oscuros (que tengo algunas hipótesis de quién puede ser, pero aún necesitan ser contrarrestadas).

Este libro ha sido muy bueno.
Primero hay que establecer que aquí el protagonista ya no es Lasgol.
Las panteras de las nieves se tiene que separar para cumplir 2 misiones.
Ingrid, Viggo y Lasgol junto con Ona y Camu se embarcan en rescatar a Astrid que está en la isla de la Reyna turquesa, el problema que tiene desde el inicio es que la estrella de mar que es un objeto de gran poder la robó uno de los magos de Eiceward y dándole al duque hermano del rey información que es un objeto muy preciado, en duque ordena que se lleve a su fortaleza, algo que su codicioso corazón toma esa decisión, así que Viggo, Ingrid y Lasgol tiene que recuperar la estrella, cuando lo hacen se tiene que robar un barco para bajar río abajo, enfrentándose a la guardia de Norgana y desembocar cerca de un puerto donde los espera el antiguo capitán del buque que los llevó a la isla anteriormente, tiene que hacer esto de manera incógnita para que no sepan que ellos “robaron” la estrella, cuando llegan la reina les dice que Astrid fue a completar la misión de uno de los magos anda haciendo ejército de moluscos así que se dirigen ellos para allá a ayudarla y matan al mago y a su ejército y rescatan a los prisioneros. Viggo siempre con sus chistes de mariscos y una fogata y es algo que me da mucha risa siempre y logran rescatar a Astrid, mientras tanto la reina turquesa le revela algo a Lasgol que encontró en el cinturón de guardabosque que ellos tienen algo que la tenía intranquila y por ello se lo comento. Fueron agradecidos por la reina y les dijo que eran amigos de la isla y si querían volver eran bienvenidos.
Mientras el grupo de Lasgol hacía ese viaje Nissa y Gerd se dirigen al campamento a socorrer a Egil que en este libro fue el mejor personaje y más hábil de todos, Egil demostró que aunque físicamente no tiene gran fuerza, la mente es un arma muy poderosa y la de él una muy privilegiada. El grupo al que se les une Valeria que se ha graduado de tiradora elemental en el refugio y que ahora ostenta una maestría, se dirigen a la biblioteca donde andan buscando un tomo donde se registró una enfermedad similar a la que tiene Dolbarar y que tiene que investigar, durante el viaje Egil aprovecha hacer 2 paradas que lo ayudarán a descubrir quién lo está persiguiendo y siendo su sombra y quien ha contratado asesinos por su cabeza, en el primero entran a un lugar donde está el contable de los asesinos y que tiene el registro de todo lo que lleva el gremio y con una serpiente hace que hable, ahí es donde se dan cuenta que Egil no es un niño asustado sino todo lo contrario, que sea pacífico no quiere decir que sea débil, sino todo lo contrario y en el otro saca la información con un alacrán venenoso, es muy ágil en estrategias, planes y en llevar los asuntos a que se realicen como el quiere que se lleve la conversación, los planes son descabellados pero siempre funcionan.
Descubren en un asalto a la biblioteca que es lo que puede tener Dolbarar y es que lo están envenenando y tiene que descubrir quién es, y todo regresan al campamento así le dicen a los instructores mayores a quien Angus (director interino del campamento) ordena que se aísle a Dolbarar y que sea tendido por únicamente 2 manos inocentes y que no han estado envenenando el campamento todo este tiempo de enfermedad del líder y son Gerd y Nissa quien tienen esa tarea y efectivamente así se hace y se recupera, pro loq ir hay que investigar quien lo está envenenando y es Eyra que pertenece a los Guardabosques oscuros y por ellos tiene que responder ante el gran consejo y son presididos por los 3 líderes del cuerpo Gondabar, Dolbarar y Sigli.
Es corroborado cuando llega Lasgol a decir que hay un planta que se hecho le mando a buscar Eyra en el continente helado hace un tiempo y que afecta a la sangre.

Like many of the other books in Path of the Ranger, I loved the story line in Power Conspiracy. I do feel like this book is one of the more intense stories in the series but still just as enjoyable. The idea of having the Snow Panthers split apart to solve two different problems really made the book fast paced and jam packed with action. Whether it’s Lasol, Ingrid, and Viggo saving Astrid from a magical and tropical island or its Egil and Nilsa sneaking into a grand library to find the cure of a illness Dolbabar has been suffering from, the constant action in this specific book left me always wondering what will happen. I really did not foresee betrayal and treason by the most innocent Master Ranger at the camp, Eyra. I’m truly flabbergasted at how well thought out this specific book of the series was. The many foreshadowing and hints to the betrayal is something that brings me joy to see as many authors flat out made up the betrayal on the spot. You could see the many small details that hinted to bigger problems further on in the story. Once again, Power Conspiracy was a spectacular continuation of the Path of the Ranger!

Me gustó muchoooo, ya extrañaba leer a este grupo. Es el típico cliché de familia encontrada que juntos tienen que resolver misterios mientras se instruyen en un campamento para ser guardabosques.
Nuestros protagonistas ya son guardabosques pero no por eso ya pueden estar tranquilos. Ahora es que surgen nuevos problemas e intrigas.
Lasgol, Egil, Viggo, Ingrid, Nilsa y Gerd me encantan muchoooo. Me río muchísimo con los enfrentamientos entre Ingrid y Viggo, y las ocurrencias de este último son tantas que a veces creo que es alguien real y me gustaría tenerlo por amigo. Egil cómo siempre ha estado brillante y creo que es primer libro donde está tan presente en toda la trama.
Me ha gustado mucho, y la pluma del autor es bastante agradable, me gustaría que estos libros sean más conocidos porque en mi opinión merecen la pena.
El final y cómo se desenlazó todo me gustó, si bien es cierto que es un poco predecible, igual se disfruta.
Ya voy por el décimo libro, ya voy por la mitad de la saga y claramente voy a seguir leyendo.

Treason and betrayal what else can happen. Love this series as they have so many great characters as well as the stories are very well written.
The dual missions of this book takes some story parts away as your focus is on multiple plots instead of the full story that I am used to from this author. Makes it a bit complicated.
Don't get me wrong this is well written and I love seeing all the characters as they are like seeing old friends again. What I find hard is the multiple story lines which to me it would have been a much better option to have these two very different stories as separate books.
The stories are very intricate and delicate and I think that in this one case that they missed the mark by combining both to one book. However I still love the stories and the characters I think they could have more flexibility had it been different books.

Lasgol has to return the ‘Star of Sea and Life’ to the Emerald Queen to rescue Astrid, but the king’s brother, Duke Orten, steals it for himself from the Head Mage Eicewald. So Lasgol, Viggo & Igrid plan to secretly steal it back, return it to the Queen and get home before the king begins to suspects them.
Meanwhile, Gerd and Nilsa travel to the Ranger’s Camp to help Egil who’s found a possible cure for Camp Leader Dolbarar. But it requires a dangerous trip across the hostile Kingdom of Zangria to the Grand Library in the Kingdom of Erenal.
Footnote: 1) A ‘nod’ means yes. A ‘shake’ means no. So, if you’re telling someone you aren’t interested, you shake your head “no”.
Fave scenes: running aground, crossing the Zangria border, the Herb of Truth potion and Astrid’s arrival in the underground room.

The best part of this book delt with Egil and his side of the adventure. glad the author focused more on him and Nilsa, Gerd, and Valeria. who joins them this time around. The obvious journey to get Astrid back wasn't important til the very end. anybody reading this series would know they would get her back unless the author was going to throw a twist on us. it could have been done off book really. The key point was revealed at a crucial point of the climax reveal. Love the new side of Egil, he's very smart and I do see a possible future where what we read in this book will lead to more significant changes to Egil in future books. Overall, a great read. it was quite a page turner to see if they would find a cure and uncover who did what to Dolbarar. Can't wait to read the next book. As i'm hooked again on this ride.

Que manera de hacerme sufriiiiir.
No voy a negar que me costo mucho leer este tomo,me llevo más de un mes siendo que a libros más extensos los leo en 3 o 4 días. Tenía partes un poco agobiantes,pero,a pesar de todo,logró atraparme (como todo libro de esta saga) y me encantó el final.

Todo esta hecho un desmadre,Eyra es traidora pero aún asi,ella no es la líder de los guardabosques oscuros,osea que aún hay alguien con más poder. Mi pregunta es ¿porque quieren matar a egil? Si bien es guardabosques,el no tiene relevancia en eso más que en que es un Olaftone,si fuera un político lo entendería,pero no es así.
La saga me encanta,jamás pensé que leería 9 libros de una saga de 20,es increíble como logra atraparme.

Sólo voy a comentar tres cosas:
Primero, me ha gustado que se empiece a explorar el resto de Reinos de Tremia, sus ciudades, gentes y paisajes.
Segundo, apruebo el cómo se lleva la narración de las dos historias de forma simultánea. Creo que no es fácil hacer las historias de esta forma y en otras ocasiones me ha costado engancharme a la historia pero en este caso no ha sido así. Además, las dos historias son interesantes, aunque me ha sorprendido que el que más protagonismo haya tenido sea Egil.
Tercero, el final de la trama me ha parecido algo predecible pues te venía dejando pistas en los anteriores libros. Aún así no me ha parecido una cosa super obvia que pudiera quitarrle toda la gracia a la trama como ocurre con otras historias.

This part of the series was more of the same. The characters hardly improved, the plot still has holes, and to make things worse, had explicit content for the age group this series is intended for. Plus this series is just repetitive, and it gets boring. There are several scenes where women are in extremely skimpy clothing. One example is a woman that is completely naked besides wearing a grand total of four starfishes to cover inappropriate areas. There is also a scene where a man and a woman are naked in a pond together. I don't think any of this should be included in a series that is meant for 9-12 year-olds. Again, this series was disappointing.
