I definitely enjoyed this book, but it's very brief. It's more of an introduction to the topic than a definitive guide, but it's a lovely place to start in order to inspire you toward further study from a more in depth text. This book's strength is in its approach to performing a reading. It focuses on intuitive connection and merging of energies between reader and receiver over the technicalities of lines as well as correlations with other energy healing techniques such as reflexology and reiki. The author does a lovely job of connecting the scientific with the spiritual. Would have given it four stars if the text had better coordinated with the visual aids -- as it stands, the text often refers to terminology that has not yet been explained and for a reader without prior knowledge of the art this can be confusing.
There are a lot of different perspectives when it comes to palmistry - I appreciate the perspective that this book has to offer, but it did seem to gloss over the history and Vedic/Indian traditions of chiromancy. Perhaps the Vedic does not resonate with the author, but I would have enjoyed to see a bit more of that. With that being said, this is a great guide for energy work and for better understanding of palmistry. There are good visuals and simple explanations. I think it’s important the way she includes exercises to strengthen your intuition!
It was alright. Rather brief and succinct, to the point. Some spots had me raising my eyebrow: tapping into 'alpha energy' in particular. I found the comment on the paleness or rosiness of palms seemed ignorantly white-centric. Some of the diagrams seemed to be poorly placed compared to where its elements were explained. Fine for an introduction, but I'd advise people to read a diverse range of texts by a diverse range of people on the topic, as with any spiritual endeavor.
Palmistry and tarot reading always gets my attention. It excites me! I love to learn both someday and this book doesn’t hold enough information, I think, for me to learn palmistry. I like that it has the basic information for a beginner like me.
