And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, “Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth.”
Revelation 16:1
Emilio Vega has managed to stay alive for the first six years of the Great Tribulation but things are about to heat up with the coming of the Bowl Judgments.
Tensions are high among the members of Emilio’s underground compound. The constant pressure to find food in what has become an utter wasteland only adds to the animosity.
Faced with starvation, other survivors around the Mammoth Cave area have resorted to cannibalism. These flesh-eaters represent an existential threat to Emilio’s group. While on a routine patrol, Emilio runs into one such tribe known only as the forest people. It is uncertain whether or not he will survive the encounter. Even if he does, the world is becoming less hospitable by the day.
Emperor Lucius Alexander issues a temporary amnesty for those holdouts who still have not received the mark. He promises to provide food and shelter to all the refugees still living in the deserted badlands once known as America. However, some believe this may be just another one of his schemes.
Emilio has a strange dream. He feels impressed by the Holy Spirt to go to Jerusalem. But Israel is an ocean away and Emilio is still a fugitive from justice in the eyes of the Global Order.

As with all works by Mark Goodwin, this book contains no profanity and no embarrassing sex scenes. However, if you are offended by conservative principles and references to Scripture, this book might not be for you.
Mark Goodwin is a Christian author and host of the popular Prepper Recon Podcast which interviews patriots, preppers and economists to help people prepare for the uncertain times ahead. His previous fiction series, The Days of Noah spent several months at number one on the Amazon best-sellers list in multiple categories. His first series, The Economic Collapse Chronicles, also hit the Amazon best-sellers list in several categories.
Megiddo is the final installment of two 3-book series' covering the 7 year Tribulation. Although the author & I disagree on a few little things, I loved how he wrote this story according to Scripture! I cried throughout the last chapter! Tears of Joy!! I felt that, even though this is a fictional story, I was meeting Jesus face to face myself! Although, as a PreTrib believer, I would have met Him 7 years earlier! I urge you to, if you haven't already, accept Jesus' Gift of Salvation NOW!! You never know when your last breath will take place!! Don't wait to "do it later"! You may not HAVE a "later"! Once you have taken that last breath, it will be forever TOO LATE! God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, LOVE YOU! That's why you were offered His FREE Gift of Salvation through the shed Blood of Jesus, THE Christ! HE IS The Great I AM, THE ONLY WAY to the Father! Do NOT be deceived by this "ME first" generation! Put God in His place! HE is FIRST!! And last! The Alpha & the Omega! Get right in His eyes while you still can!
Well, I have finished all 6 related books and because these were put in the timeline of the Tribulation, my all time favorite novel types, I am pleased with how Mark got things done. I wonder Mark, why didn't you include the 100 lb. hail stones falling on enemy troops? Never the less, I still enjoyed the way things were written. I always say, a book is the author's baby, and he has the responsibility to bring up his child as he sees fit. This baby was a winner. I especially enjoyed the way the first three book series led to the next three book series with ongoing characters. When the Rapture happened on Rosh Hashanah or Yom Teruah, that fell right in with what I happen to believe, with the exception that it happens mid-trib in this case, and I believe in pre-trib, then when The KING of KINGS arrives on Sukkot, I was blown away, as that too is what I believe will happen. It was nice to know that someone else feels that way also. The people living in these books were subject to all together unimaginable difficulties just to survive what was going on around them. These trials in this series shows just what might happen to those Left Behind and what they must do just to live through this period. As for me and my house, I will take NO Mark, I too will remain faithful to our KING of KINGS and LORD of LORDS. Wonderful series of books Mark, keep them coming, I love your Bible based novels, good reading and hopefully a help to turn those who do not yet believe to look into scripture for themselves and learn the truth and be Saved.
I did not like the way Mackenzie was portrayed in this book. Her behavior towsrdo Annalee contradicts the life of Christ. Granted toward the end it worked out. Her attitude was very off putting.
I remember reading the prequels to this series. It was a long time ago and I had to really work hard to remember what happened in the first series! This second half of the entire series was SO MUCH BETTER! Not that the first series wasn’t good because it was, this series just moved faster, was much more exciting and I couldn’t put this one down!! I read straight through all 3 books in two days!! The only part of the book I could have TOTALLY DONE WITHOUT was Mackenzie’s school girl antics. It was futile, no reason at all for it to be in the book and REALLY took away from all that WAS important. This side story either should have been completely left out (my preference!) or shut down right away. I’m actually offended that Mr. Goodwin actually thinks that a grown woman would behave in such a ridiculous fashion and keep it up for MONTHS in the middle of the Great Tribulation, no less. I, for one, at 59 years of age have NEVER once even entertained the thought of that type of frivolous behavior. And I’m not even in a battle against Satan (yet). Please don’t belittle grown women with this stupidity, Mr. Goodwin. All I can tell anyone who reads these books is that when you get to that part in this last book, just speed read through it. The series is phenomenal and you will truly enjoy it. The ending is spectacular.
SPOILERS. Okay so the book was amazing. getting to the final battle was great. Happy for Emilio and the group. They survived the tribulation. Get to be part of the new world. Met Jesus and General Michael( St. Michael???" Good beat Evil. Now comes to the personal beef. As a believer of UFO's and life outside our own, never would I have thought they would be on the side of Evil. Could some be evil, yeah but with evil comes good too. Yes, i know this is an apocalyptic Thriller with religious scriptures but that blew my mind. May be its cuz I read many fictional books with aliens being good and helping mankind. And this book series was all about humans getting closer to god and him leading them to the promise land through faith. And thats fine. but still seeing Aliens with the side of evil and only appearing during the tribulation that I didn't like. Again its fictional with real bible scriptures but still hope in my life we see life outside of humans before this terrible period. Without them being connected to Evil. But that's just me and for all I know its really just humans. And that would be fine too, boring but fine. Overall a great read. I will try to read other books from this author. Other people should definitely read this entire series. its not boring at all. read it.

Once again, Mark Goodwin has written an astounding "edge of your seat" adventurous, fast moving novel with believable characters. I, especially, loved the description of the return of Jesus to fight the Battle of Armageddon in the Valley of Megiddo when Satan is defeated and cast into hell. I know no one really knows how things will appear for th final battle between good and evil, however, I cried while reading Mark's depiction of the events. I have imagined for many years what Heaven will be like and what I will do when Jesus welcomes me home, and Mark Goodwin described it perfectly. I will fall at His feet and weep for pure joy to be in His presence.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading the Bible and Revelation prophecy of the end times.
Thank you, Mark Goodwin , for this wonderful Series. I look forward to reading more of your eye-opening books. God bless you.
The Kingdom of Darkness Series by Mark Goodwin is a magnifier of our human weakness and God’s omnipotent wisdom and might. Book three, Megiddo, is the dramatic climax of this outstanding Christian journey to the conclusion of our sin nature. Mark does a great job of weaving a realistic depiction of end time prophesy. Megiddo deals with several character weaknesses known to mankind, but mostly what stands out is the stubbornness of our humanity to cling to our own understanding of what we see, rather that the faith Jesus desires for us in His ability to overcome all elements of darkness and evil, by His immeasurable love for each of us. Let not the days of tribulation trouble your heart, for He has a plan for each of us, that is immutable and true. Thank you Mark Goodwin for illuminating these spiritual truths to edify our faith! Keep up the good work!
The ending of a saga that is as powerful as the saga itself
Mark Goodwin does a master full job of sharing his passion of scripture and story telling in this series . Mark would tell you himself that he believes that his writing has come a long way since "Days of Noah" which was a brilliant and captivating saga in itself , and as good as that was The Kingdom of Darkness may be even better . The only negative comment that I can leave is that the series is over now,the characters that I have lived and followed since the beginning are now complete . I came across Marks works by a leading of the spirit ; in short time I have read everything Mark has written. Read this book and everything he has written before this, may it guide you to the scriptures and to.prepping so that we are ready .
I loved this series. I waited for a long time to finally get this last book in the series, and I felt a little disappointed in the narrative and events leading up to the conclusion of the series. The use of the Revelations passages and the flow of the activities related to the biblical references was really well done. This helped me to see a believable interpretation of what had been written in Revelations. I would recommend this series and other series written by Mark Goodwin. I follow him and I also believe. His writings are based on good values and the books are an easy, quick read and full of interesting and exciting events and characters.
Conclusion of the end times when good versus evil Armageddon comes true. The forces of good with General Michael, Emilio, Mackenzie, Anna lee and Hudson as well as all the believers who died in the seven and a half yrs before this last battle. Rabbi's , And I'm and the others who gave their lives and will be in Heaven where they belong . The 7 horsemen and the other signs that showed the way for the believers each step of the way. The end of Alexander the Anti Christ and his minions who were sent to where they belonged along with the ones who took the mark. Well written and exciting.
This was the final book in this series. I truly enjoyed reading all of them, especially this one. The end of 7 dreaded years of Tribulation. And our Lord and Savior coming back...I would recommend that if you don't belong to Jesus, now is the day of salvation. These books have a lot of Bible facts woven into the story of the hardships and trying times the ones left behind will face in the final 7 years of earth's history. I know that the Bible teaches us that people will be saved during Tribulation, but who wants to live through the worst 7 years of earth's history. Jesus died for each one of us. Except the free gift of salvation... today.
Both of Mark Goodwin's series - Beginning of Sorrows and Kingdom of Darkness, should be at the top of your reading list. The action is non-stop, the story is compelling, and the message is so timely.
The heros are riven, devoted, and wonderfully flawed and human. The mix of tragedy and triumph makes the story so very real. I was so thoroughly engrossed, there were times I almost expected the actual news to be reporting on the events of the book while I was emerging from "reader's fog."
This is an amazing ending to this series. I would like to see more prepping information intertwined within the story. I do have information that the author provided in reference to food storage. However the battle of souls, good against evil has been part of literature for centuries I wonder how many people actually have paid attention to the fact that it all is part of biblical history. Looking forward to the next series.
First Emilio, McKenzie and a few others leave base camp to get to get supplies and end up captured by cannibals. Second Emilio, McKenzie, Rabbi and a few others head off from Kentucky to Jerusalem dodging or confronting Global Order Peacekeepers along the way. Definitely worth reading. Scary part when Mr Goodwin's other series are being described (most of which I've read) they are a description of the world now. Great job. Thank you.
I have read all of Mark Goodwin's books in this series. I commend this author on his writing skills, but more than that, he writes accurately as fiction will allow, when using Scripture. Most appreciated us the fact that his writing is with decency and without profanity. You can trust his writing not to offend. Thank you, sir. I look forward to your next endeavor. My only regret is that you cannot write as fast as I read. God bless. Zoe Faircloth
Wow... seriously I loved this series, but this one really brought it. I really didn't expect the book to end the way it did ,but I'm so happy it did. Brought tears to my eyes it was so beautiful. I'm sad that this series is over but this author is amazing and I haven't read his other books . Guess I will do that now. Great book I absolutely loved it.
I always love reading end time stories. Mark's books are always fascinating. However, the fact that McKenzie is so negative and rude throughout the book, sort of distracted from the story. A little jealousy is fine but her character was just too continuously sarcastic. The rest of the book was great. (Post written by Sue C. Weaver-not Allan)
This was nice tie up of the storyline. This was the most difficult for me to immerse my self in. Action, tragedy and day to day strife, as well as spiritual growth is the focus of the story. Although I had difficulties stay engaged, this may have been just my situation. Worth reading, the characters are pretty interesting.
This is the final book of the Kingdom of Darkness series by Mark Goodwin. It was exciting and ended with all the loose ends tied. I enjoyed the series, as well as the previous trilogy, The Beginning of Sorrows, that featured Emilio Vega as one of the leading characters. He was left behind in the Rapture. His story was finished in this book.
What a wonderful ending to this series! Gave me goosebumps just imagining how it could be when the end comes. The battle scenes were incredible, the descriptions were amazing and the depth of conviction that the main characters possessed were downright incredible. LOVED IT!
Perhaps the best in the series, except we missed the wedding feast. There were more truth then I expected, acknowledging the Feast of Tabernacle for one. Enjoyed the faithful filled action, the character growth, and as always we win.
I throughly enjoyed this read. Mark knocked it out of the park this time. I strongly recommend you read the entire series from beginning to end, but if not available, reading Megiddo (stand alone) will bless your day(s).
Thank you Mark Goodwin ! Heart pounding stories . Clean and inspiring characters . I can't wait to read the next series .😁 I hope you will write a another one with Jesus Christ and the thousand years ! 😁
An excellent wrapup to this series. I love that this writer stays with the Bible and does not create outside what the Word says. After all there’s enough excitement already in what God has told is going to happen!!
A well written book with a message.for everyone. Enjoyed reading a book that had a happy ending and did not contain excessive profanity. Recommend it to both believers and none believers it provides its readers with a spiritual awakening
Lions, tigers, cannibals, and aliens oh my. If not for Having to sleep, I would have finished this in one sitting. Such a good read. Well done on an amazing book
I’ve read all of Mark Goodwin’s books at least once. They’re hard to put down because he puts his readers into the story. But they also uplift my spirit and make me even more anxious to immerse myself in the Word and draw ever closer to my Savior! :)
As usual, Mark Goodwin did not disappoint. I always enjoy the story line, characters, and the references to the Word of God. Anxiously awaiting the next Godly adventure and the knowledge I gain from it!
I absolutely love the way the author writes! I'm crying, laughing, and mostly rejoicing in the fact that God is ultimately the victor. I know this through Bible reading, but to see it so dramatically displayed is such a reassuring blessing!
