This is a review of the Moby Classics version of Oliver Twist (which doesn't have its own Goodreads entry) rather than this edition.
I read the Moby Classics Oliver Twist to my nine-year-olds in preparation for going to see a production of Oliver! in the fall. I read that version many times as a child. (Moby Classics books are amazing.) The kids hung along with me until the end, for the most part and seemed to enjoy it well enough. The story got a bit convoluted in the end and hard to follow for them with regards to who was related to whom, but that's Dickens. This is now another literary classic that they'll understand references to when they see them in popular media, which is another goal of doing classics with the kids.
This book is a personal recommendation by me . The climax of the book was one of the best. The villains were truly fantastic and realistic. This book is for thriller and suspense lovers. Recommended for age 8 to 12 . Anything can happen anytime. My favourite character was monks
