This is a young middle grade book. This is about a girl that has a youtube channel. Honestly, this is not what I thought it would be, and it is not my type of book. I did not love this book, but I did not hate it. I did find some of this book to much for a young girl to be doing like doing so much makeup. I requested this book because I thought it would be a book I could read with my 11 year old daughter, but I really do not want my daughter to read this book. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Sourcebooks Young Readers) or author (Mia Fizz) via NetGalley, so I can give honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.

I read this AS A JOKE pls don't come for me. honestly though, even though i didn't like it and it was really cringey at parts, this book wasn't made for my age range so I guess a younger girl or boy might enjoy this.

I'll admit it, the cover is what caught my interest on this one. It just screams 'teeny', energy and fun...and it does portray exactly the atmosphere of this read.

Mia's swimming in success, thanks to her Youtube videos, and keeps more than busy. She's loving every moment of it and still keeps her family at the top of her priority wish. Well, mostly. Her younger sister's birthday is quickly coming up, and Mia still has no clue what to give her. To complicate matters, her sister points out that the Youtube videos have been following the same theme—makeup. Well, it's time to shake things up (at least, that's what her sister and parents say, and Mia does take their advice seriously). So now, she's adding a little pizzazz with a fan-takeover. Add the still missing birthday present and a cute guy and everything might go topsy-turvy fast.

I'm always a little cautious when I grab up a book written by a well-known figure, especially when it circles around their own lives. But in this case, it works wonderfully. Mia Fizz might be using her own life, but she allows the Mia in the tale to take on a very independent role. Mia, the character, never feels like a copy, nor does the book ever come across as if it's a telling of someone's life. This one feels more like one of those wonderfully, wholesome and simply fun to watch Disney shows (like iCarly, Victorious, and Co.).

The book is short, sweet, and packed with energy. There's never a boring moment as Mia swings from one event to the next. While some cause slight problems to be solved, others are simply enjoyable. It's a nice mix, keeps a very light-hearted atmosphere, and touches upon simple, day-to-day problems, everyone faces in one form or another. There's also an atmosphere of honesty as friends, acne, crushes and family meet the ups and downs of everyday life. There's moments of embarrassment, which are funny and yet, hit home, nervousness, and stepping out of the comfort zone...and not necessarily in huge, amazing ways, but circumstances teens simply experience in life. So, I'm giving this one a huge thumbs up and believe lots of tweens and middle graders will enjoy it.

I received an ARC and simply enjoyed the read.

A great book aimed for children aged 7 - 12. That being said I still enjoyed Mia's story. The book is based on Mia's life but is a work of fiction. For such a young age Mia has inspired hundreds if not thousands around the world with her YouTube channel "Mia's Life" she isn't afraid to talk about anything like puberty, embarrassing moments, she goes bare faced when she's having breakouts to show other young girls that it's okay and completely normal. This book is no different as Mia includes embarrassing moments that she encountered. While on a mission to shake up her content on her YouTube channel and trying to find her younger sister Sienna a birthday present she meets a guy. We read about a week in Mia's Life as she asks her fans what she should do. A great story filled with funny, embarrassing and touching moments. What I liked: The storyline was interesting. Mia's writing style was simple and easy to read. The story moved along nicely. Overall a great read. Also loved the illustrations throughout. What I didn't like: The book was so short just about 100 pages, I wish it was longer but I get it. Mia is still young and I'm not expecting massive novels by her. Can't wait to read more from this YouTube star. A great book, would recommend.

It was just so... saccharine and curated. Very cutesy and unrealistic. Say what you will about YA dramas, but at least in those books people tend not to talk like a modern day 'Leave it to Beaver' (i.e. unrealistically, cloyingly wholesome).

I read this on a whim (I have zero knowledge of this girl) and IDK maybe I'm just biased, because there is no force on earth that will ever convince me that a child should be allowed to be a social media star. You attract way too many weirdos that way.

I loved the book; it was amazing. The story is about Mia Fizz. She is a YouTuber and in the book she always does make up videos and her sister Sienna says to change her channel a bit by doing a fan takeover. Mia goes to a rock climbing class for a YouTube video. While she was at rock climbing she remembered that it was Sienna's birthday and she still had to get a present. She knew that Sienna loved space and while she was climbing she saw a poster of a space camp so she signed Sienna up. Mia got Sienna the best present.
