Admiral Falkirk McGowan has lost a lieutenant on crime-syndicate controlled Kragus. It’s up to Bosun Gus Johansson and the crew of Corvus to get her back, fast, and in secret.
Someone forgot to tell Gus the most powerful crime boss on the planet wants revenge and is willing to start a war to get it. He has an ancient Imperial Confederation assault carrier headed for Kragus and Corvus is the only thing standing in its way.
Can the crew pull off an against-all-odds rescue, stop a war, and escape destruction?
I'm not sure how it's done but it's still works. You are reading a perfectly average story and suddenly find that you have these invisible hooks keeping you tied to this story.
Any book that features a grumpy, smart opossum deserves 5 stars. But beyond Ophelia, there are all the AIs, especially Corvus, and the crew of Corvus, and a great story with excellent world building. There are definitely some character deaths in this one, but I loved the story and the series. I read the books on KU but will buy them as soon as I can to reread. I'm looking forward to book 3.
This second installment continues in the same theme as the first. Lots of character threads to follow, with plot angles providing intersecting storylines. We still have the occasional technology surprise to provide plot relief. Character development continues, new cast members are added, and this book ends on a positive note. Looking forward to the next release.
I thoroughly enjoyed this second book. Such fun, adventure, battle scenes, witty dialogue and a touch of romance. The characters are developing beautifully and the storyline is getting more interesting. I can’t wait for the next book.
I have enjoyed the first two books in this series and am reading and liking the third. This would normally not be a genre I read much but these books are fun and fact-paced. I hate to have to put one of them down.
This was a very good read. I have enjoyed this story so far. It is well written with a minimum of grammatical and spelling errors. The story is very entertaining, I will read he other installments.
