Adult Divergent fans will love this smart, near-future speculative, thrill-packed romance!
My name is Thessaly, and at 22, I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up. Living with my parents, going to college, and hanging out with friends is pretty much the extent of my mediocre life. The biggest drama I have going on with me is fighting a growing attraction toward my best friend Bram. Oh and avoiding needles--specifically ones that draw my blood.
See, on January 27, 2044, the DNA Networking Act was set into action. This new law provides those in authority to gather genetic information from citizens in an effort to achieve nationwide resistance to diseases and other weaknesses. Sounds promising, right?
Maybe. But to me, it infringes on a person's freedom. The act prohibits citizens from declining to undergo genetic testing when summoned, and the deadline for everyone to voluntarily submit a DNA sample is fast approaching. I'm avoiding the process as long as possible.
Until one night the unthinkable I'm ruthlessly abducted. Bleeding is no longer voluntary... it's a requirement. And as it turns out, the four guys who captured me aren't anything like I expected.

Her Reverse Genus is a soft Sci-Fi Reverse Harem Romance with a speculative spin on fated mates and a corrupt government hellbent on keeping them separated. This set contains all five books in the series—Perfect, Broken, Resistant, Expendable, and Preserved. In 2044, while the world isn’t terribly different, human rights are. Our heroines and heroes in Her Reverse Genus find themselves thrust into one unfortunate event after another where they’re forced to explore varying degrees of highly triggering topics that some readers may find difficult to read. These incidents are not added to the story for shock value or to cause contention; rather, they’ve been included to progress the story in a way that is realistic and congruent with the concept of the overall story arc.
Adell Ryan is a hubby/wife pseudonym. Adell writes unconventional love stories about fierce women and their numerous male suitors. Because let's be honest, we need more than one to satisfy our multi-dimensional needs. Right? Ryan simply puts up with Adell's crazy fantasies and toots her horn regularly. Occasionally he'll add in a shoulder pat, and a deep, sexy "Damn that's good stuff."
That southern boy (bless him) stole this northern girl's heart and they live together in the deep south, raising their three boys. When Adell isn't writing she's homeschooling — primarily working on dictation, making sure they say 'creek' instead of 'crick' and 'fire' instead of 'fer.' She also dabbles in photography and graphic design. Oh yeah, and reading. Every. Night. Much to Ryan's dismay. Sometimes she puts the steamy stuff down and gives him a quick kiss on the forehead though.
So this boxset carried a new take on...several things, and I was impressed by the cleverness, yet simplicity of it all. Where it ended was fine, but I wouldn't object to a follow-up series on what came next.
This series as a whole is so awesome! It had me at the edge off my seat just waiting for the next show to drop. It has such a perfect balance of futuristic and relatable that I could picture myself in the group, on the run. The RH aspect of the story is so crazy amd one of a kind. I've never read anything like it. The author really took the time to let the reader come to know each character and their separate relationship. As well as the harem as a whole. I'd say it was a medium burn but man once you get there the fire is hot. I 100% recommend this series. Just be ready to get totally engrossed in this world.
I probably would have rated this higher if I hadn’t slammed each book down one after another. I recommend taking a break because it got a bit overwhelming. And as a lab tech, the whole exacentrifuge invention being so pivotal bit made me kinda roll my eyes. I loved the 5 main characters but Jax was my favorite. I wish we had gotten another book to show the aftermath, them rebuilding and maybe even having a family.
I'm surprised I didn't leave a review the first time I read this series. This is the second time I've read it and I love it. This is one of those series that will pop into your head at random moments and have you wanting to read it again. Although it isn't from what's going on in the world today it isn't to far off from what could possibly happen. This is one of my absolute favorite series and I'm sure I'll reread it again and again. Definitely recommend
I absolutely love this series. I’ve read all the books individually so I *had* to get the box set too. Thessaly and the guys are some of my favorite characters. Not going to be spoiler-y, but if you like light science fiction, non traditional romance stories, and books you don’t want to put down, this is definitely a series you should read!
This is the full series of Thessaly and her boys. Set in the future, the National Agglomeration Bureau, or NAB, are trying to create the perfect world. Headed by the disastrous Zinna, the NAB are after Thessaly because of her perfect DNA. These and her guys have a lot of hurdles to get over, and they meet some great friends and get help, along the way.
If it’s me, not you were a person…it perfectly explains my interest. It started off great and I couldn’t put it down. Then, I was struggling to pick it up. I don’t know if book three is a gap filler or what, it just didn’t keep me interested. I was a little over the half way mark when I just called it quits.
Having rent the entire collection, there were lots of things to enjoy. If you're at all into the science behind DNA you may really enjoy the science part of the books.
If you're just in it for the reverse harem, the build of the characters and their relationship is great but it is an incredibly slow burn.
I really liked the deep storyline and the complexity of the main characters. The series was plenty hot and steamy, but there was a real story behind all the romance. I would recommend this series to anyone who enjoys a lot of action and a little bit of sci-fi with their romance.
Well, folks. This is where to grab the entire series of Her Reverse Genus. No more of that pesky waiting to see what happens while the author finishes the next book. It's all right here for you in one complete set.
