23/4/21 OUT NOW!

Usually, I tend to avoid books with heavy topics but every so often one comes up that intrigues me enough and makes me want to dive in. And this one is by Lisa Eugene so the appeal was even stronger. I was not prepared for how much this book would make my heart hurt.

Grayson and Angie look like they have it all, two beautiful children, lovely home, satisfying careers and are madly in love. But things aren't what they seem. Grayson suffers from schizophrenia. And although he is stable at the moment and taking his medication, Angie starts noticing changes that begin to worry her. As Grayson looses himself in his delusions, she tries to be there for him, support him and love him while trying to hold their family together. But as reality and illusion collide, meddling relatives and work adding on to the insanity, will their love be enough? Will they make it through this crisis, on the other side?

description

I don't have real life experience with people who suffer from schizophrenia but in my opinion Lisa Eugene did a marvellous job of portraying how a persons mind like that works without losing the reader in the ramblings. Being in Grayson's mind was heart-breaking. Reliving his experiences with him, his past, his current spiral in his delusions, his fierce love for Angie and the kids and his unrelenting need to keep them safe, all captivated me. I couldn't put the book down! I was almost late to pick up my girl from school! Grayson was compelling, commanding the pages with no effort, making you empathise and worry for him.

description

If Grayson's POV shows you how it's like in the mind of a person suffering from schizophrenia then Angie's shows you how hard it is for the people that love them. The worry of a relapse, the helplessness, the weak human moments and the fear that your loved one might be lost forever. Angie was a no-nonsense woman. Secure in her love with Grayson, she is his biggest defender, his greatest champion, always fighting for them. She saw past the illness to the person inside.

I highlighted so many quotes that I can't pick which to publish. I can tell you that I felt all of them in my heart of hearts.. I will tell you that I didn't see the twist coming. I wont tell you how it turns out. I wont say if they make it. You should read it and find out for yourselves, read it and feel your hearts beat and swell in hope for them like I did.

P.S. Thank you again so much Lisa Eugene for the ARC! Simply sublime!

I can honestly say I don't think I've ever read a book quite like this one. Can't wait to dive in!

3.5 stars.

🔹 Overall feelings:

〰 I actually really liked it! This book definitely took me by surprise, I enjoyed a lot of aspects but at the same time, some things just didn’t really work for me. That said, let’s get on with my review...

🔹 The characters:

〰 I really enjoyed all of them! Angie was a great female lead and Grayson was also a very enjoyable hero. I also found the side characters to be well developed even though there were many of them. I didn’t necessarily like Angie’s father or Charles but that’s because I always prefer the main conflict to come from outside the family. I definitely would have wished for Angie’s father to be represented differently and I kind of wanted to get a more positive outlook from Charles at the end.

🔹 The mental health representation:
〰 I loved it. Were some things a bit off? Sure. Was it still a fairly good representation of this illness? I personally definitely think so. However, I would just like to say that although I’m a psychology major and studying these different mental illnesses is a big part of my program, my only experience with Schizophrenia comes from textbooks. That said, I do not know, nor have I ever met, someone with this disorder. That’s why I would highly recommend reading other reviews until you find one from someone who either has this disorder or is close to someone with schizophrenia. That way you’ll actually know if the representation is accurate or not.

〰 Personally, I thought it was well done and I think that the author did a good job differentiating between Grayson and his disorder. In addition to that, she was able to highlight the fact that schizophrenia does not make up who Gray is as a person, but that his disorder is just something that he has to live with. Moreover, she did a great job of showing how having schizophrenia could affect those around you and I found that the slow progression of Grayson’s psychotic episode was dealt with fairly well.

🔹 The plot:

〰 Here’s where I had to dock a few stars. This book was actually going really well for me at the beginning. However, it did not need to be this long (it’s not even that big of a book but it certainly felt like it was at times). So where lies my biggest issue? With the fact that there were so many side plots. This novel is supposed to primarily be dealing with Grayson’s struggle with his disorder (and it did) but I don’t understand why so many side plots were thrown in as well. Here’s what we had to deal with throughout the book:

- Grayson’s decline and his psychotic episode,
- Charles and his threats,
- Angie’s relationship with her father,
- Alma and her whole story,
- Danny and his threats (possibly the most unnecessary addition to this novel in my opinion),
- Kristin and her bad mojo,
- Peter, his fights and his principal at school,
- Digicast, the company and their leader...

〰 Please keep in mind that all of this was happening at the same time in the book, so it’s not like we got to deal with each problem separately. We rather had to follow all of this at the same time which, to be honest, felt exhausting and unnecessary. Danny and Alma’s side story in particular was so useless that I just don’t understand why it was even added. I understand and appreciate that it gave us further insight into Angie’s personal life (an aspect that, for once, had nothing to do with Grayson) but it still felt like it was thrown in there out of nowhere since it didn’t add any real value to the plot.

〰 Moreover, I could actually see the twist with Kristin and Charles from a mile away and I can’t really say that I enjoyed it all that much. If I’m honest, I wanted Grayson’s mental decline to be unprovoked, not a result of scheming and outside sources. Having an episode like that is completely normal for someone with schizophrenia so I would have liked to see it happening for no reason instead of having it be this whole big plot against Grayson and his family (the very thing that he’s literally paranoid about).

〰 Finally, I really hate when the main character is given the chance to see what’s going on around her but then the author makes her wait for no reason. What do I mean by that? Well, I just don’t understand why Angie wouldn’t pick up Matt’s phone calls. Her reasoning was stupid and had she done so earlier she would have noticed her husband’s psychotic episode sooner. Also, the way she received the envelope from Matt but wouldn’t open it for so long just irritated me to no end. I hate it when the characters are given the chance to figure things out sooner but decide not to do so simply as a means to prolong the book. The author could have simply not had Matt call Angie and could have made sure that the latter didn’t receive the envelope so early on and I wouldn’t have been this annoyed. I don’t know, it might be just me but when things like this happen in a novel, I just find myself getting annoyed at the main characters.

🔹 Previous installment:

〰I don’t really look at this as a romantic novel to be honest. This novel mainly follows Grayson’s mental health and not his love story with Angie (which I definitely preferred cause the mental health aspect was much more interesting in my opinion). You still get a lot of cute and sweet moments but that’s not the main focus of the book. Moreover, Angie and Grayson’s love story was actually established in the previous installment so the focus here is not on their developing relationship in any way. You actually start the book with them as a married couple with kids; which I surprisingly kind of liked. There are many references made about events that happened in the previous book (which I did not read) but I’m glad to say that this is still a complete standalone. You do not have to read the first book to be able to understand this one and enjoy it.

🔹 Final thoughts:

〰 Having said all that, I’m still really glad to have read this book. The writing style was great and the story was enjoyable. I wish a few things were done differently but I still think that the author is definitely talented and worth checking out.

”He was funny, protective, intelligent, kind, sexy, layered with such complexity that his schizophrenia was only a fraction of who he was.” .

Huge thanks to the author for reaching out to me and offering me an ARC in exchange for an honest review!

➡️I had told the author that I wouldn’t be able to get to this anytime soon but I’m so glad that I actually got to read this novel within a week and a half of its release!!

4.5 The Need For Understanding Stars
* * * * 1/2 Spoiler Free
Lisa Eugene has a very special place in my author-loving heart. When I was new to Goodreads and didn't have a clue about reviewing, she allowed me to read one of her books. I was so taken by it, I continued to email her endlessly trying to guess where she was taking me and who the baddie was. That was the start of a lovely relationship and I will be forever grateful.

A few books later, she wrote Grayson, something very different and at the time, in my mind, groundbreaking.
Mental illness was not a subject that usually partnered happily with romance. Not unless the one suffering was lost, evil, or any other personality types in the negative. Instead, Ms. Eugene had our romance with a man who was fighting for his life and in that fight, he found the perfect woman who was able to understand all he was combating.

Well, leave it to Lisa Eugene to do it again. She has taken the same couple and presented us with a fresh love story with new challenges and also with all the standard obstacles those with mental illness have to endure.

This time we have our loving wife standing with not just by her husband, working together finding the assistance he needs, recognizing when things are not proper, and rejoicing when they are able to experience inroads in medicine and care for his diagnosis.

This journey highlights our need to give others a chance...recognize mental illness in the same way we do other illnesses, with the same patience. A disease is only one part of someone. It may be difficult because we fear what we do not know but with education, we can make a change our perspective.

Loving is the best medicine. It doesn't "cure" all but it definitely can make the journey easier.

Schizophrenia is a very serious mental illness. I am not sure how the writer deals with it and I do hope it won't be about love heals all but in any case, I am not interested. I have read too many books about mental illnesses and I think I have had enough. And as I said schizophrenia is too serious an illness for me to read in a romance book.

This was the first romance novel I have ever read where a main character had schizophrenia and I couldn’t put it down; I literally stayed up all night to finish it. I really enjoyed the story but I found the conflict to be a bit far fetched. There was a bit of a side plot that I didn’t care for - not that it was bad, but I wanted to spend more time with Grayson. It was very interesting being inside his head, seeing his progression from “normal” to manic. I also loved how much Angie advocated for her husband and how she was just as much his protector as he was hers.

4 stars. I will definitely be going back and reading the first book.

It’s not needed but I highly recommend that you read Grayson first so you can get the full experience of Grayson right from the beginning.

Grayson suffers from schizophrenia and while he has it under control there are certain things, he does to help keep it at bay. While most of us might never fully understand the complexity of this illness Angie does her best to help Grayson. One thing for sure is that Angie’s love for Grayson has her doing everything within her will to help and protect him from everyone!!

I must say that this book had some unexpected events that threw me for a loop, and I was not expecting that! I’m not going to share much because I want you to experience the all the feels and emotions this book will give you!

Get ready to fall in love with Grayson and Angie in this emotionally beautiful story! Kara~ 5 Emotional Stars

Emotionally gripping. I can honestly say I’ve never read a story like this and I loved every word.
Lisa brought all the feels out of me. It’s intense. It’s, at times, heartbreaking but mostly it’s about the power of love an acceptance.

Love is patient. Love is kind. Love can also be devastating. One couple will test the strength of their love against the ravages of mental illness and true brilliance in this powerful love story from Lisa Eugene.

GRAYSON’S WAY is a story of devotion and selflessness, loyalty and the strength of one woman to stand against all odds for the man she loves as he defies the labels that society attempts to imprison him with.

True love has the power to weather all storms, no matter how brutal they are. Nowhere does it become more apparent than in the words of this author as this heartfelt, raw and intense tale comes to life. Wonderfully portrayed characters become larger than life as Angie becomes her own force of nature to protect those she loves and Grayson battles the depths of the quagmire of his brilliant mind.

Lisa Eugene spares nothing in this realistic tale of how unsung heroes are all around us, fighting their own battles against society, all for love.

I read a final draft of this as a beta read, before it headed off to the editors or had any final small changes made by the author.

This book captured my attention straight away. It's written in dual POV and was superbly executed. I should note that I have not read Grayson, so the characters and the world were completely new to me. I'm sure readers of Grayson will appreciate the follow-on story (from what I think may be five-six years on) but I can attest this book reads perfectly well as a stand alone.

This book deals with mental illness and I can't say enough how important books like this are. I loved the way Lisa Eugene interwove elements throughout this book that educated me as a reader without me feeling like she was shoving statistics down my throat. Watching a character and their loved ones deal with schizophrenia through the words in this book enabled me to appreciate those that live with the disease, either themselves or by proxy.

I loved this book because although it is based mainly around Grayson and Angie's characters and how they deal with everything and everyone as Grayson spirals into psychosis, there was a mystery sub-plot that kept me guessing right up until the end. I loved that.

Although I'm not sure if this book qualifies for the domestic thriller genre, it has a bit of that feel about it which really tickled my fancy.

A man battling Schizophrenia, Grayson has been diligent in his efforts to stay in the present and never spiral into psychosis like in the past but what happens when despite all his efforts, the voice is back. It is taunting him again. Telling him he is incapable of keeping his family safe and that the “Others” are back. The “Others” will harm his dear wife, his beloved children, and he won’t be able to do anything.

There is someone dangerous after Grayson and his family who is willing to do anything to cause them harm. But is this someone real or just a figment of his troubled mind?

A poignant, raw, and emotionally rich story that delves into the troubled world of Schizophrenia patients who are never quite sure that what they are experiencing and seeing is real or not. Judged harshly by society, labelled as “mad”, and often times neglected by friends and family, Schizophrenics are rarely given the understanding, love and support they need, even now in the modern world. I cried and my heart broke as I watched a good man, a family man, and a talented man loose his sense of reality, and face prejudice from people both known and unknown.

Angie loves her husband so much and is willing to stand by him no matter what. Her life is already a struggle with her parents and society judging her for marrying a man almost twenty years her senior. Add his battle with Schizophrenia to this mix and the author shows the battles families of people suffering from mental diseases face every day. I was angered, saddened, and crushed as I watched people giving Angie heartache and trouble when what they should have been doing was supporting her!

The plot is expertly planned and executed and I was hooked right from the start. I picked this book up not knowing anything about it being a continuation of Angie-Grayson’s story but this didn’t affect my enjoyment. It is perfectly okay to read this book as a standalone.

This is my first Lisa Eugene book and I am so in love with her writing style. She brought everything out so beautifully. So many emotions assailed me as I read this soulful romance. I felt hot by the sizzling romance, bit my nails in excitement as I followed the suspense, and shed tears at the sensitive issues brought up by the author like society’s fear of mental patients, society’s prejudice towards them, and lack of support extended to them.

However, all is not hopeless and the author also showed the goodness in people by bringing to life characters that accepted and supported Angie and Grayson, and who were sympathetic and understanding of their challenges. Medical explanations and treatments are also like rays of hope and I loved how good doctors treat patients with love and understanding. The message that all is not lost if you are diagnosed with a mental illness is also brought to fore loud and clear. She shows that people with mental illness can be cured and lead a normal life. All they need is proper medical support and love and understanding from everyone else.

This is an intense romantic suspense that has so much more happening apart from Grayson’s illness. The story kept me engrossed throughout and then left me jumping in joy. I would love to meet Angie and Grayson again.

All in all, Grayson’s Way by Lisa Eugene is my new favourite romance and Njkinny recommends this intense, sizzling, suspenseful and hauntingly emotional romance to all romance lovers above the age of eighteen. Lisa Eugene is an author who has impressed me and I will be checking her other books now.

5 super shiny stars out of 5 to it from me. Go read this book and Lisa Eugene’s other books too!

Lisa Eugene did it again! I absolutely love her books. "Grayson," the first book (prequel) to "Grayson's Way," had truly stolen my heart with its emotional depth. I never wanted it to end upon being so intrigued by its characters. Well, the author did not disappoint. She went above and beyond!

Lisa Eugene writes easy to read, entertaining, and thought-provoking books full of relatable characters. I was enthralled, staying up until the wee hours because I simply HAD to see what happened next. I fell head over heels for Grayson and was right THERE with Angie every step of the way, "getting" her concerns, fears, & frustrations at a deep level.

I've worked in the mental health field and have my own related familial and personal issues. One of the many things I love about both "Grayson" books was how I actually learned a bit. I've always loved entertainment that can be educational in FUN ways. I wish more books would include some of the challenging topics that Lisa has tackled in her works. She's been a gift to so many unheard people in our world who are usually swept under the carpet.

The often misunderstood, feared, and marginalized people who struggle with these afflictions can truly appreciate their RESPECTFUL inclusion in fiction. Seen as whole people rather than as their diagnoses, the awareness and knowledge of these all-too-often seemingly invisible masses deserve a voice. Just as ANY/ALL humans, people with mental health issues long for and deserve love, understanding, and to even to grab a spotlight every once in a while.

Another thing I loved about "Grayson's Way" was the unexpected plot twists. I was truly bowled over more than once! I actually went back & re-read a few scenes just to help process a couple of the more emotional surprises. What a great thing, to be truly surprised by a book. Way too many books are utterly predictable from beginning to end.

I must also sing the praises of the humor in "Grayson's Way." When a story is emotional, painful, frustrating &/or tense, it's wonderful to have the outlet of laughter to break that tension. I literally laughed out loud so many times. Often, because of Anna, Angie's sister. Man oh mighty, I LOVE her sarcasm and sass. There were also a few embarrassing moments that really made me squirm, knowing all too well how it feels to put my foot in my mouth. Beautiful moments!

I hope Lisa Eugene continues to entertain, enlighten, and win the hearts and minds of her readers for many years to come.

Grayson’s Way by Lisa Eugene is book 2 in the Forever Love Series. Grayson is the first book. Grayson’s Way deals with mental illness, the author did a great job telling the story that dealt with a sensitive matter. There was a bit of mystery thrown in the story, that kept me guessing. I was surprised when it was revealed. Kudos to Lisa for keeping us on our toes.

Grayson is a successful businessman who lives with Schizophrenia. My heart broke for this poor man. Grayson has the love and support of his family from his wife Angie and their two beautiful children Peter and Maddy. There isn't anything he wouldn't do for his family, they are his world. Grayson has always been reclusive he prefers the comforts/safety of his own home.

Angie is a devoted wife and mother, she's the glue that holds the family together. Grayson and Angie's marriage is rock solid, they share an unbreakable bond. The perfect unity of love. When Grayson begins to develop psychotic episodes, distrusting everyone and becoming paranoid. Angie will be the only person Grayson will rely on and trust. Angie will yet again fight to save the man she loves. She will do everything in her power to save Grayson and her family. Will Angie be able to or will Grayson fall deeper down the rabbit hole?

Incredible read

What an incredible and emotional ride this book is. Grayson's Way is the continued journey of a couple, Grayson and Angie who live with Grayson's illness - schizophrenia. I loved that we get dual POV's and I feel Lisa did an incredible job with both characters. This is such a well written and beautiful love story that will stick with me.

I truly believe the more mental illness is represented in a realistic light, the more understanding there will be, as far too many people do not understand. I live with major depression and anxiety and people don't understand that so I can only imagine what someone with schizophrenia has to deal with. Kudos Lisa Eugene!

5 Blush Review - **Top Read of 2021**

From the moment I saw that Lisa Eugene was writing another book about Grayson I knew I had to read it Grayson (which came out in 2014) was a book that has stuck with me for a long time.  How can a writer entertain you and teach you all at the same time? Lisa Eugene gave us the most unlikeliest hero in Grayson.  A man suffering from schizophrenia.  I think most of us have a perception of what someone with mental health- especially schizophrenia is like and Lisa Eugene gave us everything with Grayson.  The good and the bad.  She gave mental health and schizophrenia a different view.

Grayson's way is, in my opinion, even better than the first book.  Told in dual POV of Grayson and Angie, his wife.  Seeing the one you love cracking from reality and hearing from Grayson as his reality is falling down was absolutely insightful, beautiful, and sad all at once.

The journey was often hard to read, I almost couldn't keep reading because I was so scared. Scare of what Grayson was thinking and hearing.  Scared for Angie as she watched the man she loves succumb to the voices.

This book isn't just about mental illness but a love that is unbreakable.  There are so many levels in this book.  The relationship that Grayson has with his children, his work associates, and the outside world are all a big part of the big picture of this story.  Lisa Eugene threw in a bit of suspense and intrigue too.

I would venture to guess that Lisa Eugene did her homework on schizophrenia.  I learned so much from reading this book.  I have always been interested in mental health and understanding it better.  I am not sure why as I myself haven't had any mental health concerns or close family members but books like this are some of my favorite.  They shine a light on an illness that is often overlooked.  We read stories of families dealing with cancer and sympathize with them easily. but thinking about a family who has someone in their lives with mental illness isn't always palatable and I think Lisa Eugene did a fantastic job of giving us insight in the world of mental illness! Thank you for such an amazing and heartfelt book.

A beautiful story of a family that rockened by mental illness, well written with good care of details. An intense emotional journey in the human mind and the struggle it faces not only with the disease but also with the social stigma. Worth reading.

I don't know what it is about Grayson Whitmore, but I love him to bits and pieces!!! Mental illness is heartbreaking in so many ways. Angie is so strong and fierce in her love and acceptance of him. Grayson is equally strong and fierce, but his demons run deep. In Book 2, they find themselves battling those demons as he starts sinking into a crisis. The signs are subtle at first. Easily missed. However, as the reader, we get to experience it from both Angie's eyes and Grayson's. It was chilling to know what was happening when Angie still wasn't able to see it yet. I absolutely loved Angie's devotion and support for Grayson. And his courage, fight, and unwavering desire to protect his family was beautiful. In the end, I didn't necessarily like the twist related to his decline into a crisis, but I am Team Grayngie (sorry, that's just a really lame 'ship' name) all the way!!!!

Y’all this book had my emotions going up and down and I just couldn’t put this book down! Lisa’s second book Grayson’s Way is a continuation of her first book Grayson. It has everything you could want in a book: romance, suspense, heartwarming moments, and moments that you’ll definitely need some tissues for. I absolutely loved reading through Grayson’s POV and knowing what he’s thinking and how he sees the world. Such a great read!

This is an intense, insightful contemporary love story.
It is book #2 of the Forever Love Series.
Angie is a devoted woman to her husband and family.
Grayson isn't your typical man. He is living his life as a schizophrenic.
Angie and Grayson have a marriage secured with a tight bond, full of love.
Angie becomes vulnerable when Grayson plunges into a psychotic episode. He starts distrusting everyone, becoming paranoid of the "OTHERS".
Angie will try again to save Grayson. She will fight against the forces of the "OTHERS". She must save him and her family.
A read that will pull you in and have you not wanting to put the book down.

I'm worried about Grayson from the beginning till the end it makes me exhausted.
There is so much that happen in the book.

Father issue, ill issue, work issue, school issue, stepson issue, baby sitter issue...😓
Lisa Eugene did a great job on Grayson's pov. He draws me all the way from the beginning to worry about him. I even wet my eyes when Angie find out the books.

The two things I don't like in the book.
1) The father - I don't like how he reacts to Grayson, even they have been married for over 6 years with two kids, He still can't come around. Family supposes give support to a family member not give more pressure on them right?! And it's claimed they are close family in the book. 🙄
2) Angie avoid picking up Matt's calls - She knew Matt, and she knew Matt know about Grayson issue and he is working with him for a decade, and she knew the project Grayson & Matt working on is very important to him, but somehow she avoids Matt because the project is giving pressure to Grayson. I mean how does a supportive wife end up ruin the opportunity to help her husband when he is in the mental crisis

Besides these two things I actually like this book very much.
The little moment between Angie & Grayson, the moment with Peter, the silence dance, the poking fun between Anna & Grayson..etc. etc...

GRAYSON'S WAY BY LISA EUGENE

✨✨✨✨ 4.5 STARS

✨ MENTAL ILLNESS
✨ AGE-GAP
✨ SUSPENSE
✨ MARRIED

Grayson's Way picks up six years after Grayson, and it goes more in depth in to Graysons illness and who he really is. It is a raw story into the daily life of someone who struggles with mental illness and how there love ones help them.

In Grayson, it was told in Angies perspective, now we get a look in to how Grayson thinks. His daily struggles and how he tries to protect his family. Grayson is in long battle with schizophrenia and his trust in Angie is a long way from were they were in book one. Angie is Graysons little cheerleader, and ready to fight anyone who treats him differently. Graysons constant worry to keep his family safe was heartbreaking and showed in every page how much he loved them. In this book we get to learn about Graysons past and see his connection with his father, it helped fill in the gaps the first book left. When the suspense came, I will say it was unexpected and shocking.

It's been a long time since I've read a book by this author but reading this story just takes me back to when I read Grayson. I loved how it was written and how also mental health was brought up and included in the story. I'd definitely suggest to read the first book before you read this one as it will make more sense. Definitely a must read!

Grayson and Angie have built a life together and are trying their best to raise their two kids. Even with his diagnose of schizophrenia, they do the best they can to provide for a good private life. With Grayson's health slowly seeming to deteriorate, things are about to change and when a threat seems to be looming over them, Grayson's getting overwhelmed even more with everything going on around him. Even though Angie is doing the best she can to help, it's not always easy. And when it all comes ahead, both will do whatever it takes to keep the other safe. Will they find out who's behind it all in the end?...

This is the end part of Grayson and Angie’s story, and their marriage is not all smooth sailing, as she can only stand helplessly and watch his downward spiral as psychosis drags him away from reality. Can Angie and their unconditional love save him and bring him back to her? This is a beautifully written story which is though provoking, and with relatable and engaging characters, and an intricate and in-depth plot, which had me totally enthralled throughout his emotional and addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more form this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

An emotional, heartbreaking, steamy, heartwarming story with drama and twists mixed in. This story takes place six years after Grayson. This is told by both Gray and Angie, so you get more of a understanding of the way Grayson and his illness. I love how strong the love between these two are and no matter what Angie is always Gray's rock. This story captured my attention and I couldn't put it down.

I won an ARC and volunteered to leave a review.

This book is deep, it covers a very heavy topic, it took me a while to finish and it's not for the faint of heart HOWEVER I am so glad I read it. I jumped out of my comfort zone with this book but found it was worth it. This story was than expected.
