Melissa has done it again – I've been hit right in the feels, in the most incredible way!
So much emotion and so much warmth –this book filled my heart and my soul. It was just what I needed.
Maybe We Should is a wonderful, love-filled book about overcoming your past and realizing your own strength. The one that comes from within, but also the one that comes from those around you.
Cait takes center stage in this book. She’s too young to have endured everything she’s gone through in her life, and she is closed off because of it. Sometimes the scars you hide run a lot deeper than the ones your skin shows. It was heartbreaking to know her story, but it’ll also make you feel empowered: you don’t have to be stuck in your past; you can fight for your future.
Every woman out there deserves their own Brant. I’m serious. Not only is he hot and sexy, but he’s also adorably flirty and cheesy at times, patient and loving. He’s too charming, and just genuinely too good. He noticed Cait a few months ago and he’s been flirting incessantly with her, but she doesn’t give him the time of day.

When Cait jumps in the water trying to save a dog from drowning and almost drowns herself, Brant is there to save her. And they start getting closer. Slowly, sort of a one-step-forward-two-steps-back situation, but Brant tries his hardest. He wants to get through to her.
Everything that follows, like all the stories I’ve read of Melissa’s so far, is all about love. It’s all about opening up and believing you have the right to be happy, and taking a leap of faith.
I loved how wonderful Brant was, and how tender and caring he was with Cait. He was careful not to push too much, giving her space to set her own pace, all the while showing her it was OK to trust, and give in. To him, to them.

Reading Melissa's books really is an experience, and this one was no exception. The book fully captivated me. I truly felt like I was living this story.

I wanted so much for this experience to be a positive one, so I could start on a high note with my first ‘read now’ arc from NG. Unfortunately, this was not to be.
I’m just going to be upfront here. I generally find romance written in the third person the most problematic & difficult to connect vs other genres written in third person. I’m not about to say it never works for me in romance. It definitely has happened, which is why I took the time & gave MWS a genuine chance. Nonetheless aside from one or two romance authors, it’s one of those things that’s far & few between when I find a third person romance that appeals to me. That’s a pretty consistent preference for me the more I read romance.
I wish I could say that was it, but it wasn’t one thing. The beginning read like my copy was missing the first maybe 3-5 chapters that set up the rest of the story. I felt that much more left out & a little put off, to be honest. The writing itself was sometimes a little wordy - I felt the effort in the writing vs a natural flow. Between those things & being written in the third person, finding a connection to the story felt out of my grasp throughout.

5 "Love like every minute is the only one you'll ever get" Stars
WOW, Just WOW. I thought, operative word there - thought, I was finally going to get through one of Melissa Foster's books without needing tissues but nope, I was wrong I did need them but thankful not an entire box full like I have with some of her other books.
Cait Weatherby has been a bit of a mystery she's always quiet and kind of closed off. In MAYBE WE WILL Cait is summoned to Silver Harbor for the reading of her mother's will, her birth mother's that is. Kate was adopted and has always known but didn't know the circumstances on why she was given up for adoption, she finds the answer to this question and many more in this heartbreaking story.
Brant Remington is a charmer, and I loved it, the way he's flirted with Cait from the moment they met was great and it shows his determination that he never once gave up on her no matter how many times she told him it wasn't going to happen. He knew there was something special about her and he was willing to keep trying until she finally said yes.
Cait and Brant have great chemistry together, even if they are like yin and yang. Just goes to show that everyone has a perfect puzzle piece out there it's just a matter of time before you'll find them.
Melissa Foster is one of my favorite authors and It's no surprise that she is because if anyone can write as many books as she has and keep each and every story so very different and evoke emotions for a multitude of reasons, well, how can you not be a huge fan then?
I listened to the audiobook version of this book and absolutely loved the way Savannah Peachwood and Aaron Shedlock brought Cait and Brant to life. If you have a choice in which way to enjoy this book, I would recommend listening to it - you won't be disappointed.
Would I recommend this book? Heck yeah I would!
To Whom? Everyone! Especially those that enjoy Steamy Contemporary Romances, Small Town Romances, Grumpy/Sunshine Romances or Slow Burn Romances. Even though Cait appears in the first book of the series that book does not have to be read in order to enjoy this one, this can be read as a standalone.

In 🎧︎📚 Maybe We Should, Foster wielded her magic and created a story, which will tug at your heartstring and have you shedding a tear or two.
I have been looking forward to Cait Weatherby and Brant Remington's story ever since their introduction in Maybe We Will. An air of mystery surrounded Cait, which made me eager to learn her story. In Maybe We Will, she discovered she had siblings, whom she has grown close with since. She knew she had been adopted, but was never aware of the circumstances behind adoption. This information came to light in this installment of the Silver Harbor series.
From the moment Brant met Cait, he knew she was the woman of his dreams. However, it would seem his flirtations and charming personality had no effect on her. He knew he needed to convince her they were meant for each other. Giving up was not an option.
As fate would have it, Cait’s attempt to save an adorable dog from drowning provided the perfect opportunity for them to get closer.
The chemistry between Cait and Brant leapt from the pages. It could not be denied, no matter how much Cait tried to running from it. I loved how patient Brant was with her. He wanted to be with her, but he chose not to push until she was ready. With his charm, patience and understanding, he slowly chipped away at the wall which encased her heart.
The revelation of Cait’s past was heartbreaking. Despite the pain suffered in the past, she stayed strong. I admired her bravery in confronting the person responsible for the pain and hurt. Her actions showed how much she had grown.
🎧︎📚 Maybe We Should, is another wonderful story in the Silver Harbor series. It introduced characters to whom readers can relate. The romance featured was well developed and authentic. One cannot help but root for this couple as they work through their issues.
Narration
Savannah Peachwood and Aaron Shedlock narrated. Both are new to me. I thought their voices complemented each other. I believed they did a wonderful job of bringing Cait and Brant to life, and they both added emotion into their narration.
Conclusion/Recommendation
Overall 🎧︎📚 Maybe We Should delivered a wonderful romantic story, which fulfilled my need for a heartwarming romance. A story which romance readers will appreciate for its charm and for the emotions it will evoke.

First Impressions
Maybe We Should is the second book in her Silver Harbor trilogy and this is Cait’s book. Cait is one of the three sisters that we got introduced to in the first book “Maybe We Will” and I was really curious about how her story would evolve. She is very resistant to the hero so it’s definitely an unrequited love, but as I absolutely loved the first book I just knew that this one would be a win for me and it definitely was. This book was such a comfortable read and what I love about Melissa Foster and her style of writing is how she can pull you into a story and her characters become so relatable. They have such a human touch to them, so much so you feel like they could be your neighbor down the street and I really love seeing such realism in these characters. I also really loved seeing this town again and all of the characters that I fell in love with in book one. The sisters are such fun together but we also get some fun characters from the Bayside MC series which was a delight as well.
Summary
Cait Weatherby is an artist and tattooist. and she has a past that is painful and causes her to struggle with trusting others. But she is determined to move on with her life and find peace and safety here in Silver Harbor. When she sees a puppy drowning and goes in after him, and almost dies herself, she is rescued by the last man she expected….Brant Remington. Brant is a man that goes after what he wants, and he knows that Cait is the woman for him. But she is highly resistant and he knows he just needs to be patient and let herself begin to trust him, he has good instincts and he knows that the connection between himself and Cait is real and worth fighting for. Cait knows that there is an attraction and connection she has with Brant, but she also has fears and even though she understands that Brant is a good man with an honest heart and would protect her, she also knows that she can’t control her fears. But as she and Brant begin to spend more time together, and a slow trust begins to form, Cait will have to learn to face her fears if she wants a future with the man she loves…
What I Loved
This book was everything that I had expected and more. I really wanted so much for this pair to find their way together and from the first few pages, I was really drawn into the story. I fell so hard for Brant, he is one of those heroes that you would marry if they were real. I just love how honest and caring he is, he is such a flirt but confident in himself, and knows what he wants and goes after it. I adored the way that he is with his family and the tender patient care he is with Cait. He stands his ground and doesn’t let her push him away and I really admired the way in which he does it too. There is such healthy boundaries that are focused on in their relationship, and that Brant understands when to push and when to let Cait work through her issues. I really admired the manner in which the romance was developed. It had such heart in it all the way through. I was cheering for these two from the very beginning. Cait is stubborn but you also see much of what she does is from her past and working her way past it. My heart ached for Cait but I also admired her strength of will to move past what happened and carve out a good future for herself. There was so much intensity that is balanced with deep emotion and with a mix of humor to really bring a beautiful balance to the story.
What I Struggled With
The only aspect is the pacing was off about 50-60% in the story. I don’t know if it was just me (probably as I was super tired) or if it was the actual pacing of the story but I did have to push myself a bit to keep reading but the last 1/3 of the story really picked up.

I found Maybe We Should to be a superb installment that feeds the reader with plenty of sexy chemistry, good-natured humor, and plenty of heart to bring a satisfying gem!!!

First Impressions
Maybe We Should is the second book in her Silver Harbor trilogy and this is Cait’s book. Cait is one of the three sisters that we got introduced to in the first book “Maybe We Will” and I was really curious about how her story would evolve. She is very resistant to the hero so it’s definitely an unrequited love, but as I absolutely loved the first book I just knew that this one would be a win for me and it definitely was. This book was such a comfortable read and what I love about Melissa Foster and her style of writing is how she can pull you into a story and her characters become so relatable. They have such a human touch to them, so much so you feel like they could be your neighbor down the street and I really love seeing such realism in these characters. I also really loved seeing this town again and all of the characters that I fell in love with in book one. The sisters are such fun together but we also get some fun characters from the Bayside MC series which was a delight as well.
Summary
Cait Weatherby is an artist and tattooist. and she has a past that is painful and causes her to struggle with trusting others. But she is determined to move on with her life and find peace and safety here in Silver Harbor. When she sees a puppy drowning and goes in after him, and almost dies herself, she is rescued by the last man she expected….Brant Remington. Brant is a man that goes after what he wants, and he knows that Cait is the woman for him. But she is highly resistant and he knows he just needs to be patient and let herself begin to trust him, he has good instincts and he knows that the connection between himself and Cait is real and worth fighting for. Cait knows that there is an attraction and connection she has with Brant, but she also has fears and even though she understands that Brant is a good man with an honest heart and would protect her, she also knows that she can’t control her fears. But as she and Brant begin to spend more time together, and a slow trust begins to form, Cait will have to learn to face her fears if she wants a future with the man she loves…

What I Loved
This book was everything that I had expected and more. I really wanted so much for this pair to find their way together and from the first few pages, I was really drawn into the story. I fell so hard for Brant, he is one of those heroes that you would marry if they were real. I just love how honest and caring he is, he is such a flirt but confident in himself, and knows what he wants and goes after it. I adored the way that he is with his family and the tender patient care he is with Cait. He stands his ground and doesn’t let her push him away and I really admired the way in which he does it too. There is such healthy boundaries that are focused on in their relationship, and that Brant understands when to push and when to let Cait work through her issues. I really admired the manner in which the romance was developed. It had such heart in it all the way through. I was cheering for these two from the very beginning. Cait is stubborn but you also see much of what she does is from her past and working her way past it. My heart ached for Cait but I also admired her strength of will to move past what happened and carve out a good future for herself. There was so much intensity that is balanced with deep emotion and with a mix of humor to really bring a beautiful balance to the story.

Maybe We Should was the second book in the Silver Harbor series by Melissa Foster. It was one in the many Love in Bloom series, but could be read as a stand-alone.
Cait and Brant were introduced previously. Cait was the unknown half sister from book one in the series. She was a mystery from every angle but it was obvious she was guarding her heart, feelings and past. Brant was the town flirt but he had his sites in Cait from the moment he met her and wanted more. Foster took us through their development while filling in back stories and including many previous characters that we’ve come to love from Foster. At times it was sad and heart felt, but definitely a “good feels” in the end. Another success for Foster.

Brant has been drawn to the gorgeous, skittish woman he calls Caity ever since she appeared on the island. He flirts and he charms, but he knows the shadows he sees in her eyes are there for a reason. Rescuing her and a dog from the marsh, though, then offering to co-adopt the dog with her has given him a way to reach her, to scale the walls she keeps around herself. He knows she's wary, but he's determined to get herself to open up completely to him, to get her to see how he feels about her. Now she just has to figure out her part and let him in.
Cait - my God, I just wanted to give this woman a huge hug the whole way through. She had been through so much, was so guarded, but I could tell even before she opened up to Brant that she had so much love to give. I love the way Brant sweetly, gently (and so so deliciously) wooed her and found his way into her heart. Sweet, swoony and sexy - now I can't wait for more Silver Harbor.

I have not read a ton of books by this author- but this story’s description really grabbed me from the start. And, though I’d not read the book prior, I was able to dive in completely with our small town and all the characters. There is a lot of swoony charm and sweet feelings to enjoy in this story-emotionally complicated heroine trying to learn to let others in, a hunky and charming boat builder gently trying to win her heart, lots of endearing side characters, and that good ole small town delight.
Cait is a heroine you can root for, and one that you feel for tremendously as she tries to balance reconciling aspects of her past with the new-found peace of her new life- with the sisters she didn’t she had and with friends and a home that feels surprisingly secure. She’s got a lot of walls to break down, and there’s a compelling stoic strength paired with a tender vulnerability to her character. And Brant is a charming and sweet hero- a loving and healing presence, a light next to Cait’s more complicated character arc. Individually, I found them both very compelling and likable as characters, but together as a couple I found their chemistry to be a bit lukewarm for me, even with the fun opposites attract vibe. Perhaps it is Cait’s emotional distance, or maybe my own headspace, but their connection didn’t resonate with me in the way prior reads have resonated. Despite that, I appreciated the themes around healing and hope- and finding oneself in family and love.
Still an enjoyable story overall, and I found the other characters of Silver Island intriguing, and will be checking out the prior and future stories as well.

Melissa Foster has done it again! This book is about another Silver Harbor couple, this time we have Cait and Brant. She is a tattoo artist and Abby and Deidra's sister from the previous book. She was given up for adoption by their mother's and lived a difficult life with her stepfather. Now, an adult she has difficulties in forming bonds with others, specially a love relationship. In this way, Brant is the perfect guy for her, he is from a big, messing family and is used to think about others. He is a dream guy that will give strength to face her fears and start to live fully her life.
The book is beautiful since one of the main messages is not live with fear, we all deserve happiness and new beginnings. After all, we only live one and living with fear is just surviving.

I enjoyed this. I would give it a 3.5. I will read the next book. I also feel like I am missing a lot of back story on the other characters, but not enough that I was confused. I would really like to read Grant's book next.

I freakin’ loved this book. I wasn’t sure I would, which I will get to later, but it definitely hit all my romance loving buttons and then some.
Cait and Brant. I adored these two. Brant is seriously a good man. It may make him sound boring, but he is anything but boring. I loved how open and honest he was and how he did everything he could to live his best life and did his best to make sure everyone else around him was as well. Cait. This woman is fierce. She survived a lot growing up and where some may have allowed that to keep them down, she picked herself up and did all she could to find her happiness.
Their journey to their HEA was a fun one from start to finish. The chemistry between them was intense, their bantering was a lot of fun, and I just really liked their flow. But most of all I liked how they learned to communicate with each other. Brant was already an open book, but once Cait allowed herself to trust him, she didn’t hold back and it made all the difference in her own personal growth as well as them as a couple and I loved where they were at in the end.
So, to that whole “I wasn’t sure” statement. I didn’t have to say it, but I believe in full transparency…and basically, as much as I’ve loved the books I’ve read by this author, the first in this series was a rough one for me, I still enjoyed it, but not as much as her others, which made me a bit wary to dive into this one, but I was totally curious about Cait so I did and loved it! (And yest, I know this is a crazy, horrible run on sentence, but it is what it is). There are triggers in here, but they are handled well. And as for the supporting cast of characters ~ I will admit that part of my love is due to the Wicked’s being a big part of this book ~ but also I really liked hanging out with everyone on the island and if Deidra’s man is who I think it will be…well, I’m all in!

Melissa Foster, you did it again. This book has left its mark on my book loving heart. Maybe We Should is the kind of book that is good for your soul. It’s more than just a romance, it’s also about overcoming your problems, facing them and coming out better for it - all while finding happiness, love, acceptance and family.
Cait Weatherby is a strong, strong woman who has overcome a lot in her young life. The things she has been through would have broken a weaker person - She is bent but not broken. Oh Brant. He was so sweet, charming, caring and it is hard to not completely fall in love with the man from the start. Cait is a little more complicated, but you can’t help but root for her, because the woman deserves all the happiness in the world. Brant is the perfect man for her, he brings a lightness to her world that she really needs. The two of them have undeniable chemistry from the start. Plus, add in their adorable dog! I loved it.
I loved getting more of previous characters and if you’ve read any books from the author then you’ll definitely recognize the names and it was a great little update on everyone.
This story was a longer one and at times I found myself getting distracted if the story slowed down too much. It is probably just a personal thing, but I really needed something to connect me to the overall story and this just wasn’t doing at times, though I love the characters and the emotion in this.
I loved getting more of previous characters and if you’ve read any books from the author then you’ll definitely recognize the names and it was a great little update on everyone.

It was great to be back on Silver Island for the second book in the latest series by Melissa Foster. Maybe We Should was well written with characters whose story you cannot help but become quickly invested in.
Cait and Brant could not be more opposite and yet there is something between them that is impossible to ignore. I really liked Cait and Brant and it was interesting to watch as Brant did his best to break down the walls that Cait has surrounded herself with. What will happen when Cait’s past comes back to haunt her? Will it destroy their blossoming relationship before it gets the chance that it deserves?
The chemistry between Cait and Brant is intense and their connection strong. The banter between them is witty and as they they get to know one another the attraction ignites. This was an emotional roller coaster of a read that got to me on a number of levels. I really liked Brant in the first book, but I fell completely for him in this story, what a swoon worthy, caring man.
Cait and Brant are meant to be together and I was cheering for them to get the happily ever after that they both deserved.

Maybe We Should is the second book in the Silver Harbor series. This one is Cait and Brant's story. While I loved the first book, I loved this one even more. Brant has been added to and moved up near the top of my book boyfriend list. I just loved how he broke down Cait's barriers and proved to her she deserved everything she wanted in life. Brant and Cait were wonderful together. I loved their banter and their fall into love. One of the best parts of the story was Ava's letter to Cait. What an emotional scene! I love this series and can't wait for Deirdre's book next!

J'attends chaque roman de Melissa Foster avec impatience (je vous rappelle aussi que sa saga des Whiskey sera traduite en français à partir de janvier) et même s'il y a des séries que je préfère à d'autres, j'avoue que les derniers romans m'ont tous beaucoup touchée car ils abordent des thématiques très fortes à travers les romances. C'est évidemment le cas avec le tome 2 de la série "Silver Harbor" "Maybe we should", sorti le 2 novembre et reçu en service presse via Netgalley et Inkslinger Pr et que j'ai dévoré une fois encore.
Cette série est consacrée à trois soeurs qui sont revenues sur l'île, suite au décès de leur mère : dans le tome 1, Maybe we will , base de cette trilogie (ou plus?) nous avions découvert Abby, une cheffe de cuisine, qui était déterminée à sauver le restaurant fermé de la famille : elle va tomber amoureuse par la même occasion d'Aiden, un chef d'entreprise que sa soeur avait obligé à venir se reposer sur l'île. Elle a une soeur Deirdra (une femme d'affaire qui vit ailleurs mais avec qui elle s'entend très bien) et s'est découvert une demi-soeur, Cait Watherby, une jeune femme tatoueuse et introvertie qui vit dans la même ville que les Wicked (une autre de ses séries, que nous découvrons aussi en parallèle et que j'adore ^^ ) et elle travaille avec le héros du tome 2 Tank en tant que tatoueuse... (si vous me suivez ou que vous connaissez l'univers de Melissa Foster, vous savez que chaque roman peut se lire seul MAIS qu'ils sont reliés à toutes ses autres séries et que forcément, quand on les connaît, on les apprécie encore plus car on apprend ce qu'ils deviennent)
Dans le tome 1, nous avons donc vu son arrivée pour le testament de leur mère : on a appris (attention, risque de spoilers)
que sa mère était tombée enceinte jeune et que ses parents l'avaient obligée à abandonner son bébé et qu'elle ne s'en était jamais remise. Malheureusement, alors qu'elle la pensait heureuse dans sa nouvelle famille, sa mère adoptive est morte jeune et elle a eu une vie terrible jusqu'à ce qu'elle se sauve et rencontre les Wicked et notamment Tank qui l'a prise sous son aile. Ses véritables amis sont donc là-bas et même si ses deux soeurs l'ont totalement acceptée au moment où commence le roman, elle a aussi attirée l'attention de Brant Remington (une des familles phares des séries de Melissa Foster) un constructeur de bateaux, sexy et riche. Mais si le jeune homme semble sincère, Cait, elle, doute d'elle-même et ne comprend pas comment elle pourrait avoir séduit un tel homme si différent d'elle qui en plus, est sincère, altruiste et ouvert sur les autres alors qu'elle est introvertie, parle peu et semble toujours sur la défensive. Mais Brant n'est pas devenu ce qu'il est sans une volonté de fer : Cait est la première femme qui a réussi à retenir vraiment son attention et il sent qu'elle pourrait être la bonne et l'unique MAIS la jeune femme le laissera-t-elle l'approcher et se laissera-t-elle aimer? Pourra-t-elle lui faire confiance? De plus, elle vit ailleurs, comment alors pourront-ils vivre une histoire alors qu'elle est déjà compliquée à la base du fait de la vie passée de Cait? eh bien, vous le saurez en lisant cet excellent roman, une fois encore, de Melissa Foster.
Mon avis : J'avais beaucoup aimé le premier (notamment parce que j'adorais le héros depuis qu'on l'avait rencontré dans une série précédente), je peux en dire tout autant du second, bien qu'il soit totalement différent parce que justement l'héroïne est différente : en effet, Cait est une jeune femme qui vient de découvrir qu'elle a une famille, que sa mère a été forcée de l'abandonner et qu'elle est aimée. De plus, elle a suscité l'attention d'un des plus bels hommes célibataires de l'île, Brant Remington : pour la jeune femme qui a eu une enfance et une adolescence terribles, c'est beaucoup de changements et bien qu'elle soit attirée par cet homme, elle n'a pas envie de risquer de perdre ses soeurs pour un homme qui vit sur place, qui est leur ami et qui est, en plus, une sommité sur l'île.
Brant est en effet, un natif de l'île de Silver Island où il a vécu avec sa famille, des parents et des grands-parents aimants (il a tout appris auprès de son grand-père) et a des frères et soeurs avec qui il s'attend à merveille (et dont j'ai déjà envie de lire les histoires : elle est très très forte pour ça) Ils sont donc totalement opposés et ont eu une vie totalement différente ce qui leur a forgé des caractères bien affirmés. Si Grant est solaire et veut absolument attirer Cait vers la lumière et le bonheur, la jeune femme a des ombres cachées et elle a peur de faire confiance. Rares sont ceux en qui elle peut compter et même si elle le repousse alors qu'il lui plait (mêmes ses soeurs la poussent à s'ouvrir et à lui faire confiance), Brant ne renonce pas : il respecte son besoin d'espace et de temps : comment ne pas craquer pour un tel homme? Il ne s'impose pas, il est juste suffisamment là pour lui faire comprendre qu'elle peut compter sur lui et attendra qu'elle soit prête. Mais son passé ne l'empêchera-t-il pas d'obtenir le bonheur que tous deux méritent?
Cait est vraiment un personnage à part : comme ses soeurs, elle a reçu une lettre de sa mère, remise après son décès : cette mère qu'elle pensait qui l'avait abandonnée et qui en réalité aurait souhaité la garder. Comme Abby dans le tome 1, elle attend le moment propice pour la lire et nous avec. J'ai beaucoup aimé ce personnage mais ai souffert aussi pour elle : j'avais envie de la rassurer et de lui dire de faire confiance non seulement à Brant mais aussi aux habitants de l'île (et notamment la famille du jeune homme) qui l'ont accueillie à bras ouverts. Mais on ne change pas quelqu'un comme ça qui a été rejetée une grande partie de sa vie. C'est une jeune femme talentueuse, qui a un don innée pour l'art et qui va se révéler sur cette île plus encore. J'ai adoré aussi les interactions avec Tank et ses employés et le fait qu'il la protège : je l'adorais dans son livre "The Wicked Aftermath" (sortez vos mouchoirs pour celui-ci) et il m'a encore confirmé combien il était exceptionnel et combien on pouvait compter sur lui. Il est protecteur avec elle et saura le faire comprendre à Brant. Petit plus, on sait ce qu'il devient avec son épouse. ;)
Mais comme je vous l'ai dit avant, Brant est encore un homme à la fois qui sait ce qu'il veut (et là, il veut Cait) mais il a été élevé dans le respect des femmes et jamais, il n'ira contre sa volonté : il est prêt à s'effacer si elle ne veut pas de lui (même si au fond, il sent qu'ils sont faits l'un pour l'autre) Il va lui démontrer qu'il a certes été un séducteur mais qu'avec elle, les choses sont différentes : il va l'épauler et la faire s'ouvrir au monde et à la vie : j'ai adoré lorsqu'il la présente à sa famille et comment ces derniers l'accueillent tout en respectant son histoire : sa mère était amie avec sa mère biologique et elle va l'accueillir comme une fille. Non seulement les jeunes sont géniaux mais les parents, les grands-parents sont tout aussi exceptionnels dans ces romans et ne croyez pas qu'ils sont rangés ^^ oh non! Ils sont bien vivants et sexy : c'est si drôle quand les parents ou grands-parents évoquent leurs relations ou quand un des enfants évoquent une scène où ils les a surpris mdrrrrrrr Là, j'ai particulièrement apprécié, comme dans le tome précédent, la brigade des femmes (de tout âge) et qui revendiquent le fait de bronzer seins nus (ou en bikinis) Elle sont connus de tous (là encore, j'ai bien ri quand les garçons ont avoué qu'eux ou leurs copains avaient surpris leur mère, grand-mère et étaient bien gênés ^^ ) et prônent la liberté du corps de la femme : bravo. Et leurs hommes (frères, maris ou autres) les soutiennent dans leur démarche : bravo bis !
Melissa Foster nous transmet une fois encore, des valeurs universelles et qui nous touchent : elle nous raconte une histoire à la fois sexy et forte par le passé de l'héroïne et aborde des thèmes pas faciles (je ne vous en dis pas plus, pour ne pas vous spoiler) : on passe donc du rire aux larmes et même si l'on sait que cela finira par un happy end, cela ne nous empêche pas d'être émues plus d'une fois et comment ne pas l'être avec l'histoire de Cait?
Je ne dirais qu'une chose (comme à chaque fois, d'ailleurs ^^ ) Vivement le prochain. J'ai hâte de lire le tome 3 sur la dernière soeur "Deirdra" qui semble bien plus rigide que ses soeurs (et qui n'a jamais pardonné à leur mère d'être redevenue alcoolique à la mort brutale de leur père) et Jagger, un musicien qui travaille pour Abby et qui semble avoir une vie de bohème (il était aussi le protégé de leur mère : quel est donc son ou ses secrets? sa vie passée qui l'a amené là où il est au moment où débute cette série : tellement hâte d'en savoir plus le concernant) j'ai hâte de découvrir leur histoire car il semble que tous deux ont aussi des secrets et des blessures qu'il leur faudra soigner et dépasser pour trouver le bonheur ensemble : là encore, tout semble les opposer mais nul doute qu'ils feront un couple exceptionnel car on sait que derrière leurs apparences, ce sont des personnes sur qui l'on peut compter. Cette série est consacrée à trois soeurs qui sont revenues sur l'île, suite au décès de leur mère : dans le tome 1, Maybe we will , base de cette trilogie (ou plus?) nous avions découvert Abby, une cheffe de cuisine, qui était déterminée à sauver le restaurant fermé de la famille : elle va tomber amoureuse par la même occasion d'Aiden, un chef d'entreprise que sa soeur avait obligé à venir se reposer sur l'île. Elle a une soeur Deirdra (une femme d'affaire qui vit ailleurs mais avec qui elle s'entend très bien) et s'est découvert une demi-soeur, Cait Watherby, une jeune femme tatoueuse et introvertie qui vit dans la même ville que les Wicked (une autre de ses séries, que nous découvrons aussi en parallèle et que j'adore ^^ ) et elle travaille avec le héros du tome 2 Tank en tant que tatoueuse... (si vous me suivez ou que vous connaissez l'univers de Melissa Foster, vous savez que chaque roman peut se lire seul MAIS qu'ils sont reliés à toutes ses autres séries et que forcément, quand on les connaît, on les apprécie encore plus car on apprend ce qu'ils deviennent)
Dans le tome 1, nous avons donc vu son arrivée pour le testament de leur mère : on a appris (attention, risque de spoilers)
que sa mère était tombée enceinte jeune et que ses parents l'avaient obligée à abandonner son bébé et qu'elle ne s'en était jamais remise. Malheureusement, alors qu'elle la pensait heureuse dans sa nouvelle famille, sa mère adoptive est morte jeune et elle a eu une vie terrible jusqu'à ce qu'elle se sauve et rencontre les Wicked et notamment Tank qui l'a prise sous son aile. Ses véritables amis sont donc là-bas et même si ses deux soeurs l'ont totalement acceptée au moment où commence le roman, elle a aussi attirée l'attention de Brant Remington (une des familles phares des séries de Melissa Foster) un constructeur de bateaux, sexy et riche. Mais si le jeune homme semble sincère, Cait, elle, doute d'elle-même et ne comprend pas comment elle pourrait avoir séduit un tel homme si différent d'elle qui en plus, est sincère, altruiste et ouvert sur les autres alors qu'elle est introvertie, parle peu et semble toujours sur la défensive. Mais Brant n'est pas devenu ce qu'il est sans une volonté de fer : Cait est la première femme qui a réussi à retenir vraiment son attention et il sent qu'elle pourrait être la bonne et l'unique MAIS la jeune femme le laissera-t-elle l'approcher et se laissera-t-elle aimer? Pourra-t-elle lui faire confiance? De plus, elle vit ailleurs, comment alors pourront-ils vivre une histoire alors qu'elle est déjà compliquée à la base du fait de la vie passée de Cait? eh bien, vous le saurez en lisant cet excellent roman, une fois encore, de Melissa Foster.
Mon avis : J'avais beaucoup aimé le premier (notamment parce que j'adorais le héros depuis qu'on l'avait rencontré dans une série précédente), je peux en dire tout autant du second, bien qu'il soit totalement différent parce que justement l'héroïne est différente : en effet, Cait est une jeune femme qui vient de découvrir qu'elle a une famille, que sa mère a été forcée de l'abandonner et qu'elle est aimée. De plus, elle a suscité l'attention d'un des plus bels hommes célibataires de l'île, Brant Remington : pour la jeune femme qui a eu une enfance et une adolescence terribles, c'est beaucoup de changements et bien qu'elle soit attirée par cet homme, elle n'a pas envie de risquer de perdre ses soeurs pour un homme qui vit sur place, qui est leur ami et qui est, en plus, une sommité sur l'île.
Brant est en effet, un natif de l'île de Silver Island où il a vécu avec sa famille, des parents et des grands-parents aimants (il a tout appris auprès de son grand-père) et a des frères et soeurs avec qui il s'attend à merveille (et dont j'ai déjà envie de lire les histoires : elle est très très forte pour ça) Ils sont donc totalement opposés et ont eu une vie totalement différente ce qui leur a forgé des caractères bien affirmés. Cute, cute, cute!
This is the story of Cait, a girl with so much on her plate, trying to make sense of her new life and new found family and Brant, the easy going, flirty guy who sets his eyes on her and tries to convince her they are perfect for each other.
To be honest, he does his convincing nicely, being there for her every step she needs to, though the princess saves herself in this one. In the beginning he seems a bit too much, too pushy, but as the book progresses this issue gets tamer. Cait is a likeable character and all the gang and her dear friends make these pages filled with laughter and warmth.
This book has the typical Melissa Foster writing, at times it feels timeless, with the trademark big community and family love. It's a successful recipe for warming one's heart.

This is the second book in this series, but as any reader of the talented Melissa Foster will know that all her books link and weave together, so don't be surprised to meet friends from other storylines. I love how this happens, and it just works so well every time.
In the first Silver Harbor book we met sisters Abby and Deidra, back after their mother's death. Much to their surprise they discovered that they have an older sister, Cait. In this book we get Cait's story, as she finds her way in a new family, and still happy with her tattoo shop family on the mainland.
Cait has not had an easy life, and she is very cautious when making friends – but Brant is patient, determined, and clearly falling for her. As Cait is trying to navigate between supporting Abby in the restaurant and also taking her tattooing shifts, she is really pulled between the two. Brant becomes a safe haven and gives her the chance to explore her new feelings. It is endearing and very romantic, and their friends love it happening.
As ever, Melissa Foster gives her an entirely believable, family-oriented, and sexy read. I really could read about these wonderful people every day of the week – I am really invested in their lives and happiness!

I wondered about Cait's past from the first book and I never dreamed it would be so painful. But author Melissa Foster has a way of bringing all the pain to the surface and making things better for the characters and the reader.
While Cait just wants to live her life her way, Brant wants to know more about her. He is intrigued by her, and he thinks they would make a great couple, but she refuses him each time he asks her on a date.
As they grow closer and her walls began to fall, she remembers her past and thinks she doesn't deserve to be happy and Brant could find someone better than her.
Brant will have to show her that they can be happy together. Cait must face her past in order to have a future with him.
I have loved reading Melissa Foster since I found her years ago, her stories are the best. I love the way her characters cross over with ease, it wouldn't be Silver Harbor without the whole gang there. This story has a painful back story, but it will keep you reading to see that Cait and Brant get their happily ever after in the end. I was cheering for Cait and Brant from the beginning. Thank you, Melissa Foster, for another great story.

Maybe We Should is the second book in the Silver Harbor series by Melissa Foster.
You are first introduced to Cait in Foster’s previous books, she is reserved, a talented artist and has had a troubled past and upbringing. She is brought to the island upon the new of the death of her birth mother. A woman Cait never knew, but has always felt a bond to.
Cait has begun embracing life on Silver Harbour, throwing herself into working at the Bistro with her half-sisters and getting to know the clientele. One customer of which is the devilishly handsome, overly honest and confident Brant Remington.
Brant is a David Beckham lookalike, who is an avid boat builder and who has lived on the island his whole life. Family means everything to him, and he has a creative free-spirited side, which you cannot help but be attracted to.
When he first locks eyes on Cait, he is instantly attracted, however he knows cracking her will be as difficult as completing a rubicks cube, as Cait has walls, built up from years of mistrust, disappointment and pain, and Brant is desperate to chip away at them bit by bit.
He is refreshingly intimidating with his brutal honesty, what you see is what you get, and he very much wants to get Cait. He isn’t afraid of competition, confident in the chemistry he feels between them. I love his pursuit of courting Cait and winning her over. A beautifully written love story of two very intriguing and complex characters. I love the island connections and the mermaid history, and these two are so meant to be together. Their story is genuine, the love is believable and I couldn’t help but swoon for Brant Remington.
I’d recommend to all series lovers and those who love deep and meaningful romances which have quirks and feels.
You are first introduced to Cait in Foster’s previous books, she is reserved, a talented artist and has had a troubled past and upbringing. She is brought to the island upon the new of the death of her birth mother. A woman Cait never knew, but has always felt a bond to.
Cait has begun embracing life on Silver Harbour, throwing herself into working at the Bistro with her half-sisters and getting to know the clientele. One customer of which is the devilishly handsome, overly honest and confident Brant Remington.
Brant is a David Beckham lookalike, who is an avid boat builder and who has lived on the island his whole life. Family means everything to him, and he has a creative free-spirited side, which you cannot help but be attracted to.
When he first locks eyes on Cait, he is instantly attracted, however he knows cracking her will be as difficult as completing a rubicks cube, as Cait has walls, built up from years of mistrust, disappointment and pain, and Brant is desperate to chip away at them bit by bit.
He is refreshingly intimidating with his brutal honesty, what you see is what you get, and he very much wants to get Cait. He isn’t afraid of competition, confident in the chemistry he feels between them. I love his pursuit of courting Cait and winning her over. With the cute inclusion of co-parenting a rescue dog, meaning they are forced

This is the second book in this series, but as any reader of the talented Melissa Foster will know that all her books link and weave together, so don't be surprised to meet friends from other story lines. I love how this happens, and it just works so well every time.
In the first Silver Harbor book we met sisters Abby and Deidra, back after their mother's death. Much to their surprise they discovered that they have an older sister, Cait. In this book we get Cait's story, as she finds her way in a new family, and still happy with her tattoo shop family on the mainland.
Cait has not had an easy life, and she is very cautious when making friends - but Brant is patient, determined and clearly falling for her. As Cait is trying to navigate between supporting Abby in the restaurant and also taking her tattooing shifts, she is really pulled between the two. Brant becomes a safe haven and gives her the chance to explore her new feelings. It is endearing and very romantic, and their friends love it happening.
As ever Melissa Foster gives her an entirely believable, family oriented, and sexy read. I really could read about these wonderful people every day of the week - I am really invested in their lives and happiness!

Brant is relentless in his pursuit of new comer, Cait. She is an enigma to him. While she is shy and sometimes reserved, she has this strength about her and Brant wants to see what she’s about. When he rescues her from drowning while she’s attempting to save a puppy, he learns again, that she’s so much stronger than she appears.
Cait is trying to get her feet under her. She’s always been about art and now that she has found some sisters, she knows that her family is starting to become what she’s always dreamt it to be. Growing up, Cait had a less than ideal childhood and had a horrible first marriage. She knows that she is the only person she’s ever been able to rely on and while she wants to change that and learn to trust, she’s wary.
With Brant and her sisters’ help, Cait learns that it’s OK to have more than one family. She has her family on the main land who make sure to check out everyone in Cait’s life and then she has her island family. When the two clash, Cait isn’t sure she’s ready. But, with each day, Brant chips away at her armor and Cait learns that these people, these new people aren’t going to see her lacking in any way.
Cait grows into the person she’s always known she could be and Brant shows her what unconditional love truly is. It’s a coming of age story and a love story wrapped into a tight community who won’t let Cait fail.

What an emotional and beautiful story! Cait has been running away for so long and when a determined and patient man was slowly breaking all the walls she built, all bets were off.
This story explored tough and difficult issues throughout Cait’s character but filled with hope and strength. Never wanting to set roots anywhere, she was about to realize that she might find her home and also love along the way. Maybe she should take the leap of faith… or not.
After meeting her half sisters and coming to a place where everyone knew her mother, she had never expected to feel so much love and support from this community, her new friends and family.
She was always keeping parts of herself well hidden until Brant. A man who was willing to be with her and let her settle the pace… le freaking sigh and swoons!
They had such amazing chemistry and I appreciated how slowly he managed to help her overcome her obstacles along the way. There was no misunderstanding or miscommunication but always honesty and respect for each other.
It was a relationship built on strong foundations, sincere and passionate.
I really liked this journey, emotional and tough at times, sweet and tender the other with also a strong hint of swoony and hot moments. There was something about the narrative that conveyed the emotions so powerfully, through the eyes of this dual POV, every touch, every glance that emphasizes each moment. Can’t wait for the next book!

Having read several of Melissa’s books, I was already keeping my eye out on Netgalley. And there was Maybe We Should, the second one of the Silver Harbor series. The great thing is, that several series of Melissa interconnect. So, if you have read different series, you still can encounter a character from another series.
The Silver Harbor series concentrates on the sisters Abby, Deirdra and Cait. In Maybe We Will we learned how Abby and Deirdra found out that they had an older sister, Cait, who was given up for adoption, by their mother. What we didn’t learn, but do now in Maybe We Should, is the rest of Cait’s past. This explains a lot about her behavior and also about her reluctance to let people get close to her. Brant is the total opposite of Cait: an open book, a charmer and not afraid to show his feelings. He feels attracted to Cait and uses every opportunity to flirt with her. Cait doesn’t know what to think of Brant. But when he rescues her and the dog she was trying to help from drowning, Cait agrees to shared custody over the dog. Shared days lead to kisses at night. But Cait is not ready to move on from the ghosts of her past. Can Brant help her to shed the shadows of the past?
A wonderful, gripping tale of trust, family and letting go of the past. Absolutely loved it. Five out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

Cait Weatherby met her sisters in book one of this series. She was adopted, had a rough childhood, made a life for herself as a tattoo artist and then received an inheritance that was divided between her, Deirdre, and Abby. Abby’s story was told in book one when she met Aidan and my guess is that Deirdre’s will be next.
What I liked:
* Small town romance with big families and big hearts
* The link to various other series written by the author
* Cait: strong, independent, wounded, guarded, talented, artistic, caring, survivor, tentative, has “dreams”, difficult backstory, shows quite a bit of growth through the story.
* Brant: boat builder, patient, charming, open, caring, from a large family, saved by a mermaid, knew Cait was for him almost immediately, willing to pursue what he wants.
* Scrappy: a small dog that broke the ice between Brant and Cait
* The support group that was like family that Cait had at the tattoo parlor
* The growing bond between the three sisters
* The letter Cait received from Ava
* Cait’s confrontation of her fears – more than one time
* The growth of the relationship between Cait and Brant
* The movie on the lawn that reminded of the one my parents let me have on our lawn when I was in high school
* Knowing that there will be at least one more book to read in this series, and perhaps more
What I didn’t like:
* Cait’s painful backstory and hearing how rough it really was
* Knowing that such painful childhoods are real and happen to more people than we imagine

Cait and Brant have slowly been introduced to us in a few recent books, and it is so good to see them get their HEA.
Cait experienced a difficult childhood, but manage to escape and eventually settling with the Wicked on the Cape, where she works for Tank in his Tattoo shop. Her world was changed again when she discovered the sisters she knew nothing about after the death of her birth mother. Now she's trying to split her time between her life on the Cape with he4r new life on Silver Island.
Brant Remington has grown up on Silver Island with his brothers and sisters, having fun in a loving and stable family and mixing with their friends.
When Cait and Brant are introduced by her new sister, the attraction startles a wary Cait and Brant has to prove to her that history won't repeat and she deserves her happy ever after.
As usual Melissa writes with such emotion that you feel every thing that the characters on the page go through. I really think that Melissa's book need a tear rating! Even though this is book two of the Silver Harbour series, you don't need to have read the previous one or any of the others to enjoy this book, but I guarantee you'll be reading them after :)
