Rate this book
Tormented by the knowledge that his father died thinking the worst of him, Colt Hall never meant to come home to Chance Creek. But with his brothers banding together to rebuild the family’s old ranch, he’s finding it hard to stay away. In accordance with the conditions for them to inherit the spread, Colt must soon marry. Too bad the only woman he wants is Heather Ward, the girl he walked away from years ago without saying good-bye.

Heather hid a secret for twelve long years, but when the Halls moved back to town it was only a matter of time before the truth came out. Now everyone but Colt knows he has a son. She’ll get one chance to convince Colt to forgive her—and become the father Richard has always longed for. If she answers Colt’s online ad for a temporary wife, will he fall in love with her before he learns the truth?

Colt knows it’s crazy to try to find a wife through an internet ad, and it’s even crazier to fall for a stranger who wants far more than a temporary marriage, but Helena Warner reminds him so much of Heather, he begins to wonder if the two might be the same woman.

Heather can’t believe she’s using a fake name to seduce the father of her own child, but is it possible Colt might know more about her true identity than he’s letting on?

Once all the lies and secrets are stripped bare, Colt and Heather must answer the ultimate can a love interrupted ever be renewed?

My Thoughts
I was most looking forward to Heather and Colt's book.

OH BOY. It started off really well and I was willing to give Heather a chance despite her mistakes with not telling Colt she was pregnant. However. The most stupidest, stupidest, stupidest mistake of hers was to say that Colt was engaged to Melanie. I actually threw my Kindle on my bed and punched my fist into the wall.

Huge spoilers coming through here.

It's been 30 minutes since I finished the book and started writing this review and I'm so annoyed. It may be that I'm slightly over emotional. I know that Helouise's character was meant to be this crazy, interfering Aunt we're meant to love, but I can tell you right now that by book 4 I despised her, there was nothing endearing about the hoops she made her great nephews jump through. They honestly should've told her to shove the deed up her arse and to fuck off there and then.

#5 in the Heroes of Chance Creek romance series

Following along with the previous books in this series, Colt is the youngest brother and the only one who hasn't yet married (to save the inheritance of their ranch from their eccentric aunt). Against his previous comments, he disengages himself from the Air Force and decides to come home, despite his fears that his brothers will hate him because of the actions he did when he was only 16. Seemed pretty weak as the basis for relationship problems, but apparently, he's been feeling guilty for years. The gang insists that Heather (his former lover) respond to his email, but in disguise, and that begins some sexting that sets the scene for getting back together. But Colt has also made arrangements with another woman who also comes to Chance Creek. Oops, when Heloise gets wind of this, she butts in and causes all sorts of problems. Cute, funny, great reconnections with previous characters, and a HEA. Only a brief novella to finish off this series, then I plan to move to another of Seton's Chance Creek series. Light and very enjoyable reads.

OK, wow! This novel brought out a lot of different emotions in me. I was sad, worried, panicked, relieved and then finally happy. If you've read the blurb or previous novels in this series, then you know about the crazy, manipulative aunt who requires the Hall brothers to marry within a year in order to inherit the family ranch. Well things get crazy and even ridiculous before our H/h's get their HEA. This story was a second chance at love for youngest brother Colt and the girl he left almost thirteen years prior. What a mistake that turned out to be! So many secrets! I really liked Heather and I worried about her at times.

Colt had me angry at times.
Seriously! What the hell was he thinking? I really didn't enjoy all the self-sacrificinig Colt and his brothers planned for themselves in order to get the ranch. How Colt could even think about doing what he almost did completely pissed me off. Thankfully he came to his senses and stood up to their aunt. The hell with the consequences. But what happens to the ranch? You'll have to read to find out. :)

There were some ridiculous and funny moments. Like...Hell, would I have the guts to do that? Probably not. Another good aspect of this novel was seeing all my favorite characters from previous Chance Creek novels.

One complaint I have is the fact that The Airman's E-Mail Order bride ended at 80%. That being said, I think this novel should have cost a little less than the $3.99 I paid if I compare length and cost to the other in the series. However, I really enjoyed reading this novel.
My Rating is 4 Stars!!!

I really enjoyed this story! U think since all the brothers are in the same predicament that their stories would be similar and predictable. I like how each story is unique with its own twists. Colts story was funny and ridiculous! I loved that!

Usually it's the heroine who is afflicted with severe angst and is an martyr. This time it's the hero. Well, the heroine has her moments as well, but, man, this hero is just not to be believed. The whole series is based on a quarrelsome old aunt who holds the title to the family ranch. She has proposed giving the ranch to four brothers, but only if they are married and one has a child within a year. Three of the four have complied and found true love and their Happily Ever Afters. Now it's Colt, the Airman's turn.

On the day his dad died 16 year old Colt Hall blew him off in favor of a tryst with his brothers ex-girlfriend and has carried the guilt ever since. When the family is evicted and forced to move by the evil uncle, Colt never even said goodbye to Heather.

Heather Ward was 17 years old when she got pregnant that day. Never hearing from Colt after, she assumed it just didn't mean as much to him and she didn't want to be responsible for causing a rift in the grieving family, so she kept her secret until the brothers began retuning to Chance Creek.

With help from the sisters-in-law Heather responds to Colt's ad for a temporary wife, but so does another woman. Heather takes it to a whole new sexy level and snares Colt's attention, big time. He proposes and everything looks wonderful . . . until their road to Happily Ever After hits some pretty big speed bumps that threaten to wreck their Happy Van. 3 1/2-Stars

This was an OK read, but not as full in terms of plot, and more far-fetched. I liked Colt well enough, Heather was OK, didn't seem as sweet as the other wives, but I guess her life has been rough.

The fact that all the lies and deception started and continued for Heloise's benefit was ridiculous, because she quite clearly wasn't fooled. The poor boy, Richard, seemed to have no one who could look after his floundering with the chaos created by the adults around him.

There was enough love and finally, sense in the end for Colt to stop the charade, but truly, this book could have wrapped up about a third of the way through for me.

Too bad, the other books were pretty good, but this last in the series fizzled. Oh well, still a happy ending, and no more books to feel compelled to complete the series.

By the time I got to this one... The main premise was wearing rather thin. I couldn't believe that 4 military hero brothers would lie to achieve their dreams. It doesn't fit for me although by now I was invested in the characters.

While I liked the story, I would have liked it a lot more if Colt and Heather had learned to actually speak to each other. And I just wanted to slap everybody - Colt, Heather, Melanie, and Aunt Heloise - at the muddle they all got into and Heather especially for opening her mouth and saying about the dumbest thing imaginable. And seriously, Melanie, you've got this huge thing going on and you go radio silent for the four days leading up to it? And Colt, you never double checked to make sure she got your message? LIKE HELLO PEOPLE.

I actually blame the author, because she had to throw something in there to mess things up if she wanted this to be book length instead of a short story, but this was just so contrived.

I about cheered when Colt told Heloise to take the deed and shove it up her... Because somebody needed to. Four weddings and a baby in a year? I mean, I know it was for the story, but seriously. I was proud of Colt for not being willing to hurt Heather or Richard anymore. And I was proud of the rest of the Hall family for rallying round to do the right thing.

And what it is it with all these women getting knocked up the first time they try? Or don't try, as the case may be? Those Hall boys have some potent sperm.

But yeah. Just a little too unbelievable, even for a contrived setup.

The Airman's E-Mail Order Bride by Cora Seton.

This is the fifth book in the "Heroes Of Chance Creek" Series.

This was it.....

He was coming home......

But home is where the secrets and lies lay buried, he doesn't know if he can face them or his family??

She has kept this secret for twelve years, and time is running out to come clean. But when you have loved only one person for so long and have no idea if the feelings are the same, which way do you turn?

Will there be a happily ever after?

Will everyone get the one thing they want the most?

This book brought me to tears (Yes I am the biggest cry baby and a sucker for all heart-wrenching stories)!!

This ties up all the stories and all the members of this family together nicely, the heart wrenching decisions made through out this book leaves you feeling that everything was for nothing, the stress and strains brought forth for everyone is devastating.

I am glad this finishes on a happy ending, even if it isn't what others thought it would be. I am also glad that the annoying, cantankerous auntie was put in her place.

Lovely way to round up this story.

The Airman’s Email Bride is book five in the Heroes of Chance Creek series and revolves around Colt and Heather. For me, this book is a solid three stars. The story is well-written but the characters fell a little flat for me.

Colt needs to marry and puts an ad out searching for a wife. After he agrees to a response, he is reunited with the woman he’s been in love with since he was a teenager. Something drastic happened and he left her years ago, but they both still carry a torch for each other. There were many parts in the story where I just wanted to ring Colt’s neck. I’m not quite sure how Heather put up with him to be quite honest. I understand they have a history and share a son together, but for most of the book, he needed is his butt kicked. I can’t believe he went on with the deception as long as he did. Even more than that, I can’t believe Heather allowed it to go on.

I enjoyed the previous books in this series very much and I enjoy Cora Seton’s other books as well, but this one just didn’t do it for me. If you’ve read the other books in the series, definitely give this a shot, it’s probably just me and you’ll probably love it.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.
Like all of the other books in the Heroes of Chance Creek series, it was amazing! Once I started this book I didn't want to put it down and ended up reading it the same day I received it. I was frustrated for a period through the middle of the book, but it was amazing through and through! This story makes you pull for the characters and root for them to make it to their happily ever after. Like all of Cora Seton's books the characters are well developed and the imagery that runs through the books makes you want to jump a plane and make way for Montana. Luckily for me, I live in Montana and I can attest that everything is right on! Great job on another wonderful additional to this series and I can't wait to take another visit back to Chance Creek!

ARC received in exchange for an honest review.

At long last, Colt has come home to do his part in helping his brothers' save the family ranch. All Colt wants is to find a fake bride, divorce and live on the ranch. However, the family has other plans for Colt and they don't include a fake bride! Heather can only hope the plan that they have concocted will convince Colt that they should be together and not push him away again. However, when you combine one meddlesome relative, one fake fiancé and one real fiancé there is bound to be trouble!
This book provided a great opportunity to catch up with the other members of the Hall family as well as the other residents of Chance Creek. While Colt may not have been my favorite of the Hall brothers, this was an enjoyable romance with a few comedic twists along the way.

My Musings

Another great addition for this great series. Surprising enough, each of the these books the a unique story line, which since all these brothers are in the same predicament. I really enjoyed Colt and Heather's story, so glad the parents of Richard finally get their "happily ever after." Happy reading!

Mrs Seton has out done herself with this one. Colt and Heathers story has waited so long and it is well worth the wait! I for one could not put the book down even though I knew it was the end of a great family saga. Laughter and tears are all mixed up in the craziness of the Hall family. This is most certainly a family saga that needs to continue!

DNF at around 60%.
These brothers are getting stupider and stupider.
I just don't know why I keep reading this series.
I understand that the author needs some kind of a conflict to weave the plot around.
But seriously, what was that scene with Heloise?
Just PLAIN STUPIIIIID.
I feel like the author insults our intelligence and no one even cares.

Not very well written. Most certainly the weakest one of the series. There were huge contradictions from this book to others in the series. The literary conflict was over contrived and unbelievable. The only redeem feature in this book is that it brings the overall series arching story to a conclusion.

I had great hopes that this last one, I assume, in the Brothers series would be as good as the earlier ones, even given the weird and unrealistic premise of the series.

For me...not so much. It simply went beyond my ability to suspend common sense.

Colt must marry soon to save the family ranch. It turns out Heather has already had his son. They get together again after 13 years. Then things fall apart. It got moronic, I had to toss it aside before I could finish reading it.

When I picked up the first book in this series, I completely and utterly devoured it. It was great, and I wanted to read the other books in the series. I thought that the second book was good as well.

And then I got to the third book, and it wasn't nearly half as good as the first two had been. But by this point, I was committed to seeing this series through to the end. I needed to know if Colt would pull through and save the ranch, or if everything was doomed.

And then I got to the last installment of the main series. And it was really awful.

It started off okay. I was really on board with Heather using a fake name to try and lure Colt in. I was invested in their relationship, which started with Austin's book.

However, then along came the shitty auntie, and too much drama that she fabricated... Because reasons. It was just insanely frustrating.
The only good part after that was Colt telling her aunt where to stick it.

It was a little before that point when I just started to skim the book, rather than actually reading it. After that point, everything else just felt rather unnecessary.

I'll save everybody some trouble and just tell you that the aunt ended up pulling through in the end, and they manage to save the ranch anyway. It was dumb and expected, and here we are.

I was waiting for this book for awhile. I like to read the whole series together so it had to wait until I got this book.

When I read the prior books, I didn't like Cole much because of the way he came across to me during the conversations with his brothers. He sounded like he was very opinionated. I'm glad that in this book we find out why he was acting like this. It was a great twist by the author to have the child that was fathered by Cole had people actually thinking his brother was the father. However, you can feel for both the child and adults because of the situation. Add this to the guilt Cole had over his father and mixed in his brother and you could see why he was the way he was.

The heroine in this one I didn't much like within the other stories of the series. Again, I'm happy that within this story it is explained to us why she did what she did, why she was acting like she was and how she really felt about Cole. I loved the interaction between her and Cole before they got together. However, the author did a great job of terrorizing them by circumstances. I was starting to believe they weren't going to make it and someone would have a mental breakdown. Well done once again to the author for the great twists and turns in this one.

The Airman’s E-mail Order Bride: Heroes of Chance Creek Series Book 5 is by Cora Seton. This is about a son returning home to a family he is thinking will reject him when they find out the truth. However, his Father came to him while he was on a mission in Afghanistan and told him it was time to go home. Was it a vision or was it his father?
Colt Hall was reluctant to return home. He had been dating ( on the sly) his brother Austin’s ex-girlfriend, when his Father approached him about her, he wouldn’t listen and rejected his father’s asking for a talk. He knew his Father would tell him to break up with Heather. He refused to listen and stomped off. His father had an aneurysm aster he left and he died. Colt was convinced he helped kill his father. After the funeral, Colt left to join the army, not telling any one he was leaving. Had he talked to Heather, he would have learned she was pregnant. She raised her son for the thirteen years since then. Now, how would Colt react to learn he had a thirteen-year-old son?

Colt Hall
Heather Ward

Colt is the youngest of the Hall Brothers, and he’s going home to a Chance Creek to live and work the family ranch but first he has to find a wife. So he puts out an ad for a temporary wife, so he and his brothers will meet Aunt Heloise’s conditions and deed the property to them permanently. Heather has loved Colt since High School and she is set on making him fall in love with her again, so she answers his ad. Just as everything is working out a woman arrives and problems begin. This is a very good book and finish to the series. Colt confronts his past, and gets a crash course on parenting. Heather takes control of her new business, and they both change as they let go of the past. The epilogue gives you a glimpse of the future. The book can easily be read as a stand alone but the whole series is very good.

i liked this one but it is not my favorite. and there are again inconsistencies with the previous book. i did not, however read the novella 'christmas bride' so i dont know if that story addresses the inconsistencies or not, but the name of storm's store has changed. the addition of dan and sarah seem so random to me, but again i guess i need to read the novella.

also at the every end at the wedding it alludes to the fact that reagan has had her baby, but no where is that talked about and that should be a bigger deal.

if all of this is covered in the novella, then that is a lot to add to a short story.

otherwise, i like colt and heather well enough, it just didnt have the same zing the others did

The Last of the Hall Family

So far I have generally liked Cora Seton’s books. This one, however, has more graphic sexual scenes in it than I felt the previous books had. It is not a clean HEA book. Oh, the HEA eventually comes and the plot of her books is always good, but I don’t need to read graphic sex scenes play out multiple times daily as the story goes. Nothing is left to the imagination and I find myself wondering if authors write these books to feel some need for themselves. Or maybe they can’t think up enough conversations or story line to add to the story line and have to fill their books with sex. I’m definitely going to have to tread carefully in picking my books or just give up on her as a potential author to read.
