I was really enjoying this book up until the last chapter. I felt that it ended super abruptly and the transition to the epilogue was awkward. Basically Abby climbs on top of Hugh, sinks down on his cock... chapter is over and on the next page is the epilogue where it starts with her pushing out a baby. Well shit, that was fast. 😝 I think there needed to be a bit more in between.
Other than that it was pretty cute. Abby was described as a curvy girl and it was actually referenced a few times, so that makes me happy.
This story was short, sweet romantic, steamy and had a sweet HEA. Hugh and Abigail met by chance and fell instantly in love. Nothing and nobody could stop them from being together. A short romance without drama👍👍👍
She finds the item of clothing that changes her life forever in Connolly Antiques
My Killarney King by Ava Pearl is the fifth book in the multi-author Kiss Him, He's Irish! series. This is the first book I have read by the author so I was not sure what to expect. But as I love the other authors with books in this series I picked this book up and am glad I did. The story was sweet and charming with some deliciously funny moments and also steamy sexy moments. The story is about Abigail and Hugh Connolly. They meet a week into the new year at his mam's store, Connolly Antiques, in Boston. Well actually they first lay eyes on each other in the parking lot and then inside there is a bit of a situation of a denim jacket that Hugh's mam decided to sell without him knowing about it and he is not quite ready to let it go, after all each patch has sentimental memories attached. Hugh wins to the jacket back but not without Abigail putting up a fight first. She may leave the store without the purchase but in the end she gets the jacket and Hugh's phone number. As Hugh leaves to go to Maine to work, he is a custom wood craftsman, and is gone for the next several weeks they get to know each other over long video chats and texts. When he comes back into town the and their first in-person date is on St. Patrick's Day where else does an Irishman take his lass.....but to his local Irish Pub to meet friends, drink some Guinness and then win the coveted Killarney Pub's KING OF THE BEARDS Trophy and crown.
This is a fun story which is a bit different as it is an insta-love story but at the same time they don't just jump into bed together and instead get to know each other over several weeks. I really loved the way they met as it was a "meet cute" that made me lol. This was a nice addition to the Kiss Him, He's Irish series and I enjoyed it.
Abigail and her friend, Tina, are heading to a new store called Connolly Antiques in Tina’s new convertible. After about 2 blocks of travel, the thrill had worn off Abigail with her hair whipping her eyes to tears. She knew she must look horrible with the knots that wouldn’t come out of her wind-blown hair. And at that precise moment, a tall handsome man went by. He watched Abigail go into his mom’s store and knew that woman was special. He noticed his old jacket that had sentimental value hanging on a hanger for sale! He hurried over just as the beautiful woman was trying it on. He told her it’s not for sale and, after giving him a hard time, handed it to him and went to the back room where Tina had gone for shoes. Hugh Connolly’s mom laughed and told him he had met his match… and his soulmate!
When Abby got back to the car, she found a box containing the jacket she had wanted to buy. He enclosed a card as well with his phone number on it. But he was off to what turned into a 4-week job in the mountains so all they have had is phone calls and texts. Yet they are getting to know each other and both of them like where this seems to be going. He gets home in time for the St. Patrick’s Day Donegal party and heads right over to see Abby.
I almost melted when Hugh won the St. Patrick’s Day contest for the best beard and abs, finally kissed Abby, and told her, “I don’t share. I won’t share. If we go further, you’re mine. My girlfriend. My future wife. Mother to my future children.” What will Abby’s response to that challenge be?
Hugh spots Abigail outside of his mom’s thrift shop and he is totally smitten with her.
Abigail spots a blue jean jacket inside his mom’s store and she wants its and buy it. Hugh is not ready to part with but decides to let her buy.
Hugh boxes up the jacket and looks for Abigail; with advise from his mom he puts a note inside with his phone # asking her to call him.
This is my first time reading anything by Ava Pearl and I rather enjoyed reading about Abigail and Hugh. It is an easy fast read, characters are great.

This is a super-short novella, so short that there was much time for plot or character development. Unfortunately, the book has swearing and other crude words—which I never liked to see in books. It's an instant turn-off for me. I really wish authors would warn about this in book descriptions so those of us who did not like that kind of language can skip the book. Aside from this annoying issue, the book also had problems with grammar, punctuation, and usage. The book had random capitalization, missing commas, extra commas, and more. Clearly, the book was not copyedited or proofread. I did receive an ARC copy of the book, but sadly, these errors persist in the published edition.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the story of Abigail and Hugh. When Abigail went into an antique shop, she saw an old jacket that she wanted to buy, but Hugh told her it wasn't for sale. Hugh's mother owned the shop and was trying to get rid of his jacket for years, but he wouldn't let her sell it. Hugh saw Abigail and knew instantly she was the one for him, but she was mad at him over the jacket. Hugh sent the jacket to Abigail with a note and his number, but he was away for 4 weeks on a job site. Hugh does hope to see Abigail when he gets back home and make her his. I liked this romance. I love how they both felt they met their soulmate, but how things weren't as as easy as they should have been . Good one.
This is the first title of Ava Pearl's that I have read and I am definitely a fan! The final novella in the awesome Kiss Him, He's Irish multi-author series, Ms Pearl's My Killarney King is a wonderful short and steamy instalove romance. Abigail and Hugh's meet-cute at his mother's thrift shop is adorably hilarious. The two are instantly enamoured with one another but they do not ride off into the sunset without some excitement. Throw together some distance, video calls and a highly entertaining St Patrick's Day beard-growing contest, and this is a wonderfully engaging, sweet and steamy love story.

Hugh and Abby meet at a little shop he mom owns, debating over a denim jacket that she found and he did not plan on selling. Talking while he is on a construction site for a month, they become closer than they expect. His first night home is St Pats Day with a beard contest at the local pub. The characters are heartwarming and comfortable with themselves. The storyline is terrific, with intense feelings and emotions. Loved how they bonded and then became intimate later, sealing their bond and love. I will be rereading this one again and again. Can not wait for more from this author.

First things first; I like the cover of this book! My Killarney King is a novella in the ‘’kiss him, he’s Irish’’ collection. This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. Whilst out thrift shopping, Abby meets Irish man Hugh. From the moment they meet, sparks fly. The chemistry between Hugh and Abby is clear to see and I liked them together. I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story. The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read.
Another entertaining read in this series. Abby and Hugh have a sizzling connection when they first meet in a thrift store arguing over a jacket. They begin chatting over several weeks while Hugh is away on business. He finally returns to take Abby out on a date in time for St. Patrick’s Day. Abby and Hugh have serious chemistry and are perfect for each other. This was an interesting fast paced read with entertaining characters. I received an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
These story is a sweet and funny insta love story. They meet while at a thrift store arguing over a jacket. With him away on business can these two find time to get together for a date and see where they go from there?

I really enjoyed this story. It was entertaining and funny. The characters were interesting and likable. Hugh's mom (mam) was hilarious with the way she was teasing him and giving him crap. Hugh's way to make up for his actions and to get Abigail's attention was inventive and sweet. Abigail and Hugh spent time getting to know each other long distance. Their happy ever after made me smile. I recommend reading this book.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. 3.5 stars. I liked how the soul bond was done in this story. Hugh and Abby both work with their hands and are down to earth. It was an unusual way of getting to know each other remotely after the spark connects them but it made it more special when they connect again in person. I only wish the story was longer.
A sweet holiday read that will leave a smile on your face. Hugh and Abigail first met at his mother's thirft store, when his mother mistakenly put an old jacket of his from school out for sale. He had to explain to Abigail that it was not for sale, but then he turned around putting it in her friend's car with a note to call him. Another case of insta-love in action.

Abigail is an artist. She goes to a thrift store. She sees a denim jacket that she wants. Hugh is not ready to part with the jacket so he gets in a tug of war with Abigail. They get to know each other over the phone for the next few weeks. This is a sweet short with back and forth banter between Hugh and Abigail.

The author has given us a wonderful story of instant attraction. When Hugh sees Abigail across the parking lot, he is drawn to her and continues to keep his eye on her when she enters the store his mother owns. What will he have to do in order to have her in his life?

A fun storyline of finding the perfect jacket, that will lead Abigail to find the perfect guy Hugh. An enjoyable book set just in time for St. Paddy’s day, good characters that get to learn everything about each other through calls and FaceTime. The chemistry between them is hot with an even better ending for this couple.

I absolutely love these Irish books and can't get enough of them. It started over a Jean jacket but will it end up a love story or Heartbreak? This story is absolutely so good and loved Abigail and Hugh. I want more from this couple.

My Killarney King is book five in the Kiss Him, He's Irish series. This is an insta love story between Abby and Hugh who meet over a worn jean jacket. The story is fun and the characters are likable. This is my first book by Ava Pearl and I look forward to reading more of her books in the future. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
Hugh will have to wait for a while. He is Irish and sentimental. Why else get in an argument over a jacket you can’t fit that hold memories. He waited for her to call and now he is away for an extended time to fulfill a contract he won. What? There is a beard in it this story too? No cliffhanger

My Killarney King: A St. Patrick’s Day Curvy Woman Instalove Romance
This book was given a five star rating because it was a Good Read . It contained happy scenes and love and romantic scenes. If you like happy ever after endings you will love reading this book. I most definitely will be following her.
This story is short and easily read but I only found it okay. I didn’t feel a connection to the characters and I didn’t really care if they got together or not.
The story is quite cute, I had fun reading it but I loved the epilogue and Abby’s parting words, she is content and happy with Hugh, her husband, and their child, Liam James
