Fried Catfish
Have you ever been scammed in the name of love? Have you wondered what it would be like to bring that scammer to justice? That is what Laurie did. A middle-aged, divorced woman with teenage daughters from the Midwest innocently looking for love on a dating website finds herself "catfished" and willingly gives all her savings to a total stranger for the hope of true love.
With the help of an unsuspecting, undercover, modern day female crime fighter and a short, hairy former actor from the entertainment industry, Laurie finds herself in Malta in situations she never imagined trying to find her catfish and the real villain behind it.
Catching up with the villain and forcing him to give them the password they need to get Laurie's money back reveals the true meaning of love and sets Laurie into a new chapter of her life.

It's been awhile since I read a screen play, so i really enjoyed this.
Catfishing is when you lure someone into a fake relationship under false pretenses. It's not real they are only pretending to be in love. The only thing they want is your money.
There are romance scams that are happening everyday so this story is really relevant.
Laurie is looking for love, but instead she finds a scammer. Find out what happens in this fast paced story. It's a short read and very well written. Really loved Laurie.
Thank you, for writing about this difficult subject.

This book was my introduction to screenplays... and I loved it!
The storyline was so much more than I expected, great characters, awesome twists and turns and an insight into a, sadly, all too real issue in today's society.
I will be a very sad human if I do not see this go to screen in my lifetime.
I thoroughly recommend reading this screenplay to everyone, regardless of your genre preferences, it is thoroughly entertaining.

In this day and age where it seems everyday someone is scammed out of their life savings due to online fraud, a story like Fried Catfish is infinitely satisfying. It also has a lot of laughs along the way. The script format actually adds to the entertainment value. If you haven't read a script before, I suggest this be your first one.

Really entertaining book. Fast read and great characters. Really show how someone can be swindled so easy. Looking forward to the next book. Hope for sequel.

This screenplay exceeded all my expectations.
The story brings a very real, everyday issue to life. We all receive scam messages, emails, and phone calls daily. Social media is full of fake profiles and people trying to steal your money. In a world where everything is prized but not valued, love has become a high-demand product, and online dating sites a profitable business. The story is well-written, and the funny passages soften the harsh reality. This book is a reminder of online fraud and an invitation to rediscover love through personal interactions: sharing a coffee, enjoying a good conversation, and making genuine connections.
The characters are amazingly developed. Each has their own past dramas and present quests. I loved Laurie’s arc, how she transformed from victim to heroine. She discovers that even mistakes can lead you to better places and help you become the person you’re meant to be.
Fried Catfish is not only entertaining but also captivating. M. C. Madjoucoff’s writing style is vivid, allowing readers to visualize every scene as if watching a movie. The script format makes the reading immersive and engaging. I couldn’t put it down until I finished in one day. It is only 120 pages and fast pace story that keeps readers engaged.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves to live the story while reading. It’s also a must-read for anyone who has been a victim of online fraud, as it gives voice to all scam victims.

Fried Catfish by M.C Madjoucoff, is the first screen play I have read and I loved it.
The beginning of the screen play sets us up for the scam that will ensue later in the story. We are then introduced to main character Laurie, a middle-aged divorcee, battling an empty nest and loneliness as others, including her ex-husband move on with their lives.
Like many before her and knowing the difficulties of finding new love and companionship, Laurie joins an online dating agency, not having much hope of finding love, but going in with a positive, 'why not?' attitude.
It's not long before a handsome 'single father' begins the slow seduction to part Laurie with her money. Laurie, feeling the most wanted in years doesn't see the manipulation happening before her eyes, until it is too late. Over a period of time her new love, Stefan, is able to part Laurie with a large some of her cash, and Laurie, who is kind and sweet doesn't see that she's been scammed.
It isn't until an intimidating, strong woman called J.J in the local money transfer store informs Laurie she is being scammed that Laurie sees the scam for what it is. She's embarrassed, humiliated and angry at herself for falling for it. (not before Laurie ends up with a monkey called Jimmy - but you have to read it to find out how all that occurs!)
However, J.J isn't all she seems and tells Laurie she can help Laurie get her money back, if she's willing to be brave.
Fried Catfish is the perfect blend of sad and funny, and a warning of the dangers of online relationships. You can't help but feel sorry for Laurie - she is every woman whose been in a broken relationship that just wants to find love. But there is also a lot of humour throughout the story and the banter is just great. Jimmy was a surprise addition and I just love his comedic presence. And the ending - just perfect!
If you love a comedic story with a relatable heroine looking for her redemption and revenge, this screenplay is for you!

catfishing: the process of luring someone into a relationship by means of a fictional online persona
M.C. Madjoucoff's first publication, Fried Catfish, a screenplay, is uproariously funny, a wild ride with a serious point, taking on the proliferation of online scamming. Fake love in search of someone else's cash.
Laurie, a middle-aged divorcée with two teenaged daughters, is desperate for love. She think she's found it online, but once she discovers that she's been duped, the real adventure begins. Laurie connects with an undercover agent, and they take off for Malta in search of the catfisher and the brains behind the operation. Oh, yes, a capuchin monkey takes part in the chase. Incredible and crazy, in the right hands this would make a good movie.
Fried Catfish. Great title.

Excellent. I haven’t read a screenplay before so I was nervous to start. The only comments I have are - this would make a great movie, and when is Book 2 coming! Laurie is me, I am Laurie. I would love to be a crime fighting ACF agent!
If you have not read a screenplay before then this is the first one you should read. FRIED CATFISH is easy to follow, the characters are well developed and the ending will make you want to read everything this author writes.
Laurie still lives in my heart. I wrote this review a few weeks ago but I had to return to acknowledge this amazing author who made Laurie so real for me.
I hope this review encourages more readers to pick this up so as to understand why I hold this author in high esteem!!
