Important reading to ones like me who need to have a clear dashboard of the operations of their respective areas.

This book doesn't age well in 2026.

It was written & published in 2013. While a fraction of topics like SLAs, processes, meetings, etc. are still relevant, a lot more tooling (who the hell still uses SAS in 2026?) and other processes (I really hate corporate short-names like PDCA, FMEA coming up; there are better and more modern tools and techniques now already, like Agile, Pre-Mortem, etc., to solve the same problem).

It was a great read in the 2010s, but there isn't much relevance in 2026

I feel the book could be cut a lot and still promote the same ideas. It has some pretty good techniques but it’s mixed with also how to provide KPI consultancy, which I didn’t really like. A lot of the checklists are pure work ethics and I think they could have been substitutes with more examples of real life KPIs. I would still recommend it for the topic but definitely as a quick read on specific chapters than as a whole book.

A useful book to establish fundamentals of KPIs to total beginners.
It's a bit basic, however, and could use an update on the technology side.
