Who killed aging rock star Rory Rossum Cole? That’s what his daughter wants to know. When a grieving Brogan Cole needs comfort and support, she runs to her longtime childhood friend, Lucien Sutter, now living in Pelican Pointe.
Rekindling a relationship that’s had its ups and downs is always difficult. But in the middle of a murder investigation, it’s downright challenging. In spite of the circumstances, the two make a pact to start over, but old issues just won’t go away. To make matters worse, Rory’s murder may be just the beginning. It seems the killer wants the entire band dead, including Lucien’s estranged father, Rory’s best friend and bandmate, Graeme Sutter. But why?
The pursuit for justice becomes a fight for answers before anyone else becomes a victim. Will they be able to put aside family dynamics to get to the truth? Or will the killer succeed in his quest to end the band for good? And will the case change their lives forever?
Vickie's novels have consistently appeared on Amazon’s Top 100 lists in Contemporary Romance, Romantic Suspense and mystery / thriller. She writes what she loves to read -- heartwarming romance laced with suspense, heart-pounding thrillers, and riveting mysteries. Vickie loves to write about compelling and down-to-earth characters in settings that stay with her readers long after they've finished her books.
She's the author of twenty novels and numerous short stories with no plans to slow down. Vickie writes full-time. But when she does take a break from banging out the next novel, she loves to get outside. Even though hanging out at the beach is at the top of her list, there's nothing quite like a long, soul-searching walk through the woods, daylight preferred, of course. I love this little town and the people in it. Always new "residents" added with each new character. I recommend reading the series from the beginning to understand and appreciate a key character who is key to each story. Not necessary, but it makes it all so much more enjoyable. ;)
I have read all 40 of Vickie McKeehan's books. I love them all! In this one you get to know Lucien Sutter better and meet Brogan Cole, his long time girlfriend. They met as kids while touring with their rock star fathers' band during summer vacation. They fell in love as teenagers and best friends. Though their lives took them in different directions, they never lost touch and remain just as close. Tragedy strikes Brogan's life when her father is murdered. She turns to Lucien for the support and love that he's always given her. Together with help from their fathers' fellow band members and friends they try to find the person who murdered Brogan's father.
Rory Cole, the beloved lead singer of Indigo has been murdered and his death sends his daughter Brogan to Pelican Pointe to reconnect with her life long friend Lucian Sutter. When a murder attempt is made on another band members life it's up to the "Beachcombers" to solve this mystery. With a little help from Scott of course!
This is a fun return to Pelican Pointe. This book, however, is a bit of a mix between the Pelican Pointe romances and the mysteries that Vickie McKeehan writes. It was a fun mix of the two genres and I look forward to more books of both types.
This is one my favorite books in the series! I enjoyed every book. The plot for this romance/suspense was different, it kept me guessing the whole way, as well as laughing and I admit to shedding a tear as well. Don't miss this or any other book in the series.
This is the last one one of the Pelican Cove series. It does look like a spin-off series will continue and we will hopefully see some of the previous characters.
I really enjoyed this one. I was not sure of the direction it was going when I first started it but I was drawn in quickly into the story.
This series just keeps getting better with each story. I love how the people of Pelican Point are always there for each other. Looks like I will also be starting the new Beachcomber Series!
I enjoyed returning to Pelican Pointe, but this novel seemed to move or wander off the pace and character of the Pointe. I wasn't as emotionally invested in the protagonists in this novel as I was in the previous 14 books. Nevertheless a comfortable and enjoyable read.
I’ve loved this series. Discovered it when she’d written 12 of them. Was so excited to find she’d written a few more. But this one just wasn’t as fun as the others. Seemed to drags bit.
