This was different. The heroine is an identical twin and they have identical twin brothers. They are part of a half French, half Spanish family that is filthy rich. When the h's sister was nine, she was kidnapped for five days. Since then the entire family has been security conscious and paranoid. The heroine is 23, and designs dresses with her twin who is never seen in public because she has panic attacks and suffers from all kinds of issues stemming from her kidnapping.

The story opens with the hero, heir to a desert kingdom, arrives to confront the h, whom he thinks is having an affair with his sister's groom to be. The heroine points out that it would be weird for the mistress to be making the bride's wedding dress and then explains how the groom, a friend of her twin brother's, did some computer magic at age 16 and found her kidnapped sister and that's why the family is so close to him. The hero believe her and they embark on an affair.

There are lengthy descriptions of security precautions and the fish bowl existence they both live, but they manage a whirlwind romance. The hero knows it won't last because his father wants him to marry for political advantage and he won't take two wives like his father did. (He has a very complicated family life

Thankfully, the heroine's sister begins to take steps to reduce her anxiety and get out in the world and the hero's father

This is the first of a series, so there is a lot of page time setting up the other characters and the weirdness that is their family life. The rich are different is never truer than in this story.

Book was okay but I was a bit on the fence. In fact I didn't care much for this series and after 2.5 books I gave up. I understand (as well as a person can) what the family went through with the kidnapping but this is just so over the top. It's been fifteen years and the whole family acts as though it happened a week ago. There is always a family member no further away from her than the next room. Every family member is a terrible enabler and I think they only weaken the girl's resolve. She is allowed to go nowhere alone. A family member is with her 24/7. I have to question if this wealthy family really got the girl and themselves proper help and counseling after the kidnapping.

The thirty-year-old twin brothers took a vow to never marry or have children because they are already so over-burdened being in the position as the keepers of safety for the entire family. How could they add to that a wife and children to protect when they spend 24/7 protecting their family of origin.

When the sister, who acts strong but is weak and possibly even more damaged than the kidnapped sister, needs to act strong and feels weak she pretends she is the other sister and that makes her stronger. What? The other sister does the same. It was just strange-weird. This family lives their life to protect the wounded sister. The twins are twenty-four now and they always wear a panic necklace so they can call for help even though security guards are at their side.

Kasim, Crown Prince of Zhamair, is our hero in this book. He has gone to confront our heroine, Angelique, who owns a fashion house with her sister. They are designing a wedding gown and trousseau for Kasim's sister...free of charge because of their friendship with the groom. He once did a huge favor for them and they want to show him their gratitude. Kasim thinks he has it all figured out and shows up at the fashion house to set Angelique straight. See, he thinks she's only doing this for free because she must be the groom's mistress. He accuses and she fights back. She's finally able to set him straight but problems remain as he has shared his theory with his mother, the queen, and his father, the king. He tries to tell them he was wrong but they think he is only covering for the designer and they have her banned from the wedding.

Kasim shows great interest in 'Gili' but she declines his dinner invitation because how could she leave her sister for the evening. But she has a change of heart and goes to meet him for dinner...and 'dessert.' It's to only be a one-night-stand which she never does but once it's over he wants to see more of her. This continues for a month or so and they have both fallen for the other. There is one major problem. Kasim made a deal with his father to let his sister marry for love. (All spouses for a royal marriage must be chosen by the father, who is the King.) Kasim convinces him to let her marry for love and in return, he would allow his father to pick out his bride who would one day become his queen. So he basically has nothing to offer Gili and they are both so gone on each other but he doesn't let her know because he knows his fate.

This is a sweet love story, but again, like the first book, I felt it was a little all over the place. They're in Spain, then Paris, the desert and so on. It was a little confusing as I was never quite sure where they were.

WOW this is an amazing powerful, emotional and sizzling story one that should not be missed by any romance reader from page one this story lights up the pages brings the characters to life and sets us up for a very moving and sensual journey to a beautiful HEA, grab a drink make yourself comfortable because you are not going to want to put this one down.

Crown Prince Kasim of Zhamair is stepping in to ensure that one of the designers of his sister’s wedding dress Angelique Sauveterre is not going to attend her wedding he is convinced that she was a mistress of his new to be brother in law, but upon their first meeting there is an electrical jolt that Kasim cannot deny she is feisty and gorgeous and should be so off limits to Kasim but needless to say he cannot resist but can he save his heart?

Angelique is an identical twin and has identical twin brothers as well they are famous in Europe for more than just their beautiful fashion designs as a family they are followed by the paparazzi and security is always there. So when The Prince drops in to meet Angelique a lot happens as with Kasim Angelique cannot deny the spark that connects them and it takes a lot for her to agree to a date but what a first date it is. Angelique surrenders to the passion and sensual pull that is Kasim.

Both Kasim and Angelique have been through a lot in their lives but being together brings the caring, loving and emotion out in them this one is so beautifully written it made me smile shed some tears and above all cheer this couple on. The first in a series which is fabulous because I want to know so much more about these siblings they are close to my heart already this is a book that I highly recommend a fabulous story.

Pursued by the Desert Prince by Dani Collins is the first book in The Sauveterre Siblings quartet and is Angelique’s story. Angelique is the quiet and shy twin compared with her identical twin sister Trella but she has been forced to step outside her comfort zone to protect her sister after Trella was kidnapped as a child. Kasim, Crown Prince of Zhahair, mistakenly thought Angelique is having an affair with his sister’s fiancé. When she clears the misunderstanding up nothing can stop him from having an affair with her himself!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it is fast paced, shows the glitz, glamour and drawbacks of celebrity living and the characters are hotter than hot. This is a great start to the series and I look forward to reading the next story. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys romantic HEA stories.

I read His Mistress with Two Secrets two years back and it was my first and favourite Dani Collins, even before I knew it was Book Two in The Sauveterre Siblings series. Ever since I've wanted to read the other sibling's stories as well.

The Sauveterre siblings are a set of identical twin brothers and sisters each.
Angelique, Henri, Ramon and Trella—two sets of twins born to a wealthy French tycoon and his Spanish aristocrat wife.

Angelique Sauveterre is a dress designer for Hasna's wedding. She's like me, in that she can work the room but still is an introvert to boot who gets tired after having dealt with too many people. And that's why she's not too thrilled to be entertaining Kasim ibn Nour, Crown Prince of Zhamair, so soon after the bridal party left her office. She wants her twin Trella to be the face of Maison des Jumeaux, their premium fashion house but is patient with her ever since the ordeal the latter faced at a young age.

Kasim is there only because he believes that twenty-four-year-old Angelique is his would-be brother-in-law's mistress, seeing that her exclusive label is making the entire wedding trousseau at no cost. And when she explains the real reason, Kasim is still unwilling to believe her.

Dani Collins always brings something unique to her stories and in this one too, in spite of me not knowing about the culture well enough, I think she represented Kasim and his feelings and thoughts in a very fluid manner. She's my favourite Harlequin author! Also, the way the paparazzi hounds certain people and how a family comes together to support their own is beautifully highlighted here. The Sauveterre family's bond will make anyone jealous. Sigh!

I was so happy when Henri made an appearance here, all the siblings did, but there was the mention of his companion of two years Cinnia, along with her relationship (or not) with Henri. I can't wait to re-read their story again! Also here was, Prince Xavier of Elazar from Book Four: Prince's Son of Scandal, playing out a particular scene which is the main reason I love twin stories so much.

The way Kasim and Angelique came together at the end was both sad and sweet, and the epilogue two months down the road was everything I wanted!

P.S. It's only recently that I discovered the background Dani Collins shares on her website about each of her books as well as series. Pursued by the Desert Prince's background/extra read is here.

My review of the books in The Sauveterre Siblings Series is as follows:
Pursued by the Desert Prince
His Mistress with Two Secrets
Bound by the Millionaire's Ring
Prince's Son of Scandal

UPDATE: There is a small glimpse of Kasim and Angelique in Innocent In The Sheikh's Palace.

This was a tough read. I’m glad I read book 2 first. Her sister’s tragic backstory sets the stage for the series and overshadows the storyline. If I had read this one first, I’m not sure I would have continued with the series.

His family’s backstory isn’t as horrifying, but it’s also tragic.

This book sets the stage for he rest of the series.

3 off to read book 3 stars

The first story in the Sauveterre Siblings quartet introduces us to the two sets of twins that will be featured in this series about passion, duty and family. Ramon and Henri are identical twins, as are their two younger sisters, Angelique and Trella. Trella endured a kidnapping at a young age that changed all of their lives. Because of the panic attacks her sister now suffers, Angelique is the face of Maison des Jumeaux in Paris, their designer fashion company. Sadiq, the man responsible for finding Trella is getting married and as a favor to him and his bride to be Princess Hasna of Zhamair, Angelique is designing a wedding gown and trousseau for the bride. All is going well, until Hasna’s brother Kasim shows up.

Kasim believes that Angelique is Sadiq’s mistress, for why else would someone give a fortune in clothing to another woman except as a personal favor? He’s determined to thwart any plans she might have to dally with Sadiq after the wedding. When Angelique explains their family connection, Kasim finds himself relieved but also troubled – because he desires Angelique for himself! His duty to his country is to marry a woman of his father’s choosing and take up the crown after him, but he can’t resist drawing Angelique into a heated affair. Family secrets have taken their toll on Kasim and spending hours with his lover helps him forget, even if it can’t last. When love and duty collide, what path will Kasim take? And will Angelique find in him a worthy lifelong partner or just a bittersweet memory?

I really enjoyed learning about both families featured in this story. The half french half Spanish Sauveterre family is wealthy but it didn’t stop the young Trella from being kidnapped and the media attention that went with that has not left them. Angelique used to be the shy one but was forced to become the public face of their company to protect her sister. She is a sensitive woman, compassionate and quiet, but very skilled and a competent businesswoman. She still feels guilt over her sister’s kidnapping as they had meant to take her, and the connection between her and her sister is very strong. We also learn a little about her brothers and some hints about what their upcoming stories will be about. I liked the closeness of the siblings and their concern for each other.

Kasim’s family is a more traditional Arabic one, complete with a desert oasis getaway to go with their family palace. Kasim’s father has two wives and this has caused many problems with rivalry among the women. The children, Kasim and his half sister Hasna are close and Kasim’s concern for her is what brings him to Angelique in the first place. They had a brother, Jamal, who is no longer with them and his loss is grieved by them both. Kasim comes across as arrogant but not excessively so. He acts like a man who will be in charge of a Kingdom. His duty to his family and country supersedes anything else, and sometimes he makes decisions that are not ones he would make if he were free to choose his own bride. The love scenes with Kasim and Angelique are sensual and passionate. They have some rocky times as Kasim navigates the path set before him, but we get a lovely happy ending for this couple complete with a sweet epilogue. The variety of settings from European cities to the dry desert Kingdom of Zhamair make for an exotic background to this sexy romance. I’m looking forward to reading more of this series!

Pursued by the Desert Prince by Dani Collins
This is book 1 of the Sauveterre Siblings series.
Angelique Sauveterre got a call from her guard saying the Kasim, Crown Prince of Zhamair is there to see her. She thinks he is there to arrange a special gift for his sister. Recently she had had his sister and bridal party in for ideas and plans for the bridal dress. But no, he is there as he believes that Angelique is having an affair with his future brother in law. She denies it and he decides to try to make her his. She also cannot believe that he believes she is someone’s mistress.
After some time in each other’s company she finds herself other than irritated he would think that of her but also very intrigued. The feeling is so mutual. What might start as a short fling but will they be able to stop it. Kasim is set to marry someone the King chose for him. But he cannot stay away from Angelique.
Find out what happens in this riveting story and with the way Dani Collins writes the story. I wish I could give her 10+ stars.

If there is one book you must read in the month of release, March 2017, this is it! I would almost beg every romance lover not to pass by this beautiful and emotional story which I adore so much I feel I need to give it 6 stars.

The first in a quartet we meet Angelique, twin to Trella who is the catalyst of all the emotions each of the Sauveterre's feel. What was to only be a one night stand with Prince Kasim turns into months of nights snatched here and there when their hectic lives allowed. What made this story remarkable to me was the characters, the sense of humor brilliantly sprinkled throughout which made for awesome banter and the fabulously suspenseful family secret of Kasim.

A lot of thought has gone into the writing of the story and hints for the future installments, the complicated setup of Kasim's family and the plot of this book is all brilliant in its delivery.

I truly, truly adored this story and very much look forward to books 2-4!

PURSUED BY THE DESERT PRINCE by Dani Collins is a March 2017 release by Harlequin Presents series.

This is Book 1 of The Sauveterre Quartet miniseries by Dani Collins.

Kasim, Crown Prince of Zhamair believed that Angelique Sauveterre was involved with his sister’s fiancé so he came to warn her off. But sparks flew and they ended up having a short fling.
Would this fling last for long? Because Kasim was fated to marry with a girl his father, the King chose. He was oath bound. Yet he couldn’t keep away from Angelique.

Pursued by the Desert Prince is a sensational romance filled with shimmering emotions and sizzling scenes. Author Dani Collins wrote this romance filled with mysteries and some secrets. It is intriguing to read and kept me engrossed till the last page.

Highly recommended to all readers of medical romance.

This was the first book in Sauveterre Siblings quartet. I already read book two in this series, which I loved, and it was very interesting to see some of the set up from this book that lead to book two as well as set up for the next two books in the series.

This book I didn't love, though I did like it. I found that I enjoyed Cinna and Henri' story better than this story featuring Angelique and Kasim. I just didn't connect to them or their story as much as I did Cinna and Henri's. There was just something that was off for me in the beginning. Once it got the middle story, then it got much, much better. I would say right around the time when the twist with Jamal, Kasim's brother, then it really took off for me. I think because I was so shocked and didn't see it coming. I never would have guessed. I don't think a Presents has ever shocked me the way this one did, which was fantastic. It became very interesting after that and I really enjoyed it after.

The beginning wasn't hard to get through, and there were definitely sparks between Kasim and Angelique from the moment they met. The attraction was prominent, and there was that playful banter between them that lead them to an explosive, hot kiss. But then after that when they decided to become lovers for one night, it started not feeling right. It felt that it happened way too quickly with very little angst and anticipation between them. They just came together, and that was it and agreed to just have a physical relationship. For whatever reason it didn't feel very natural and almost contrived at times. And just felt like two sleeping together and no emotions between them. It wasn't as engaging or emotionally intense enough for me.

Then like I said once the Jamal revelation came it got so much better. It became more emotional and more raw. It was more intense, and generally just felt more real. I could feel their love and caring for one another while in the first half it just felt like sex. I was more gutted by this half. I was more able to root for their love story.

Also they had this beautiful time at the oasis, which was very rich in descriptive details, and I felt like I was really there. Plus on an emotional level, I could feel their love for one another. There were so many tender moments between them that it made it worth it in the end. I was satisfied by their little romantic rendezvous. I loved the romance there. Their love scene in that moment was so beautiful and really showed off their connection between them. It was a very fulfilling scene.

Once the second half came into play, it was really a great love story between Kasim and Angelique. They really had a connection, which I didn't necessarily believe in the beginning where I thought it was only lust. That was the only thing that seemed to be going for them at first. It just didn't have the intensity going for it in the beginning. And it didn't feel right until the second half. It just didn't have the flow that I was looking for in the beginning. The second half made up for it though. I really enjoyed it. I liked it.

Can't wait to read book three and four in this series especially intrigued by Trella and Prince Xavier's story.

Pursued by the Desert Prince is the first of a series called "The Sauveterre Siblings" and what an amazing first book.  First you have 2 sets of Identical twins , a family dynasty that has been destroyed by a kidnapping and are forced to go to extreme measures to protect them.  I know I cannot do justice to the review as the book is that amazing but I will try.  the first book has Angelique who with her twin Trella design wedding gowns.   Add to the mix Kasim ibn Nour who doesn't believe the story of why they are gifting the gowns to his sister, instead thinks she is the mistress of his sisters fiancée.  He confronts Angelique and this is just the beginning of a story that has everything in it a romance reader would love and throw in 1000 more reasons to love it. Amazing is not giving it the credit it deserves and I am anxiously awaiting the other 3.  Ms. Collins has written one of the finest romances I have read and truly worth more than 5 stars and instead of gold its Platinum.  don't miss this one.

Really enjoyed this kick-off to a new series from Dani Collins! We get the first of the four Sauveterre sibling stories with another sibling following the next month. They're easy to connect to, yet shrouded in lots of secrets and an overly protected life, so it's fun to delve below the surface and get to know them more.

Prince Kasim ibn Nour is determined to see his sister happily married to the man that she loves, so he visits designer Angelique Sauveterre to make sure she ends her liaison with his soon-to-be brother-in-law prior to the wedding!

Angelique can't believe he thinks she is someone's mistress! She sets him straight in no uncertain terms ... and by the end of being put in his place by her, Kasim is so intrigued that he wants to claim her for his very own! Family obligations on both their parts limit their freedom to live their lives as they wish, but they decide to have a short lived fling that is just for their enjoyment. When their time together is supposed to be coming to an end, will they be able to walk away?

This story captivates you from the first page with the tug-o-war of words passed between the hero and heroine. Both headstrong, independent and successful, will not settle for the last word but kissing each other passionately on their first meeting opens them to a passion they both cannot resist. I hate Kasim at first for jumping to such rash conclusions about Angelique. I was mentally scratching him in the first few pages of the book...and then that kiss happened. Angelique is flustered by the chemistry between her and the Crown Prince of Zhamair. But eventually she cannot get enough of him. I love Kasim's reaction when it dawns on him that Angelique is who he thinks she is...and to say he is smitten by her is a tame word. These two are perfect for each other whether they admit it or not and seeing them pursuing their attraction is the crux for me. I loved this story...the authentic plot and the drama, and I can't wait to devour the second book in the Sauveterre Siblings! Highly

I couldn’t give a damn about the characters in this book. They could fall off the planet and I wouldn’t shed a tear.

The entire beginning of the book was ridiculous. The H shows up at the h’s place of business because he believes that she is having an affair with his sister’s soon to be husband.

The h is designing and creating his sister’s wedding gown and trousseau for free. Is that something her fiancé’s side chick would do?!

Then there was the kiss and the necklace thing. Then the dinner that led to the most boring sex scene I have read in ages. Yeah. and I only got to chapter 6.

It’s a new year and I’m done torturing myself. This one is a stinker and it doesn’t deserve any more of my time. Too bad I can’t get my money back. Sad face.

There are two sets of identical twins in the Sauveterre family (French father, Spanish mother): Henri and Ramon (30) and Angelique (Gili) and Trella (24).Trella was kidnapped 15 years ago ,is still insecure and recluse. The 4 have security detail all the time, with daily passwords and panic buttons on them all the time.Ramon races cars, Henri is a businessman and the sisters design haute couture dresses for princess Hasna of Zhanmair.
Crown Prince of Zhanmair, Kasim, is sure that Angelique is involved with his future brother-in-law,
Sadiq. He has no idea that Sadiq is friends with the twin brothers and helped the police to find Trella.
One day Kasim sees a bracelet left by Henri's girlfriend -it was made by his late half-brother, Jamal.
Will Angelique come to Hasna and Sadiq's wedding ?Is Jamal really dead ? Will Trella ever overcome her phobias ?
Interesting story, where two pairs of twins in the same family and they double up :Henri and Angelique (both very French and introvert) and Ramon and Trella (Spanish and extroverts). Also,Kasim grew up with a full sister Hasna and half-brother Jamal, son of his father's 2nd (parallel to the Queen) wife. His country is mostly Muslim, with Christians and Jews living there, too. Kasim agrees to let his father choose his bride...to be continued.

A really great start to The Sauveterre Siblings series. Angelique has worked hard at her family's clothing design business, being the face of the company while her identical twin recovers from a traumatic childhood experience. They only take on select clientele and a princess on her wedding day is exactly who they work with. But when the princesses's brother, Crown Prince Kasim, storms into Angelique's office to demand she stop her affair with the groom, she isn't sure what to think. Besides rage at such an accusation. Angelique may feel rage but she's also drawn to Kasim and the spark they share heats up. But Kasim cannot offer Angelique anything more than affair, he's destined for an arranged marriage. When their feelings begin to grow will part time be enough for them or will Angelique have to walk away from her love? Really enjoyable and great set up for the remaining books in the series.

This is an easy read and the first in the Sauveterre Siblings Quartet series . Unusual storyline as the Sauveterre family has 2 sets of twins , the 2 girls are 24 in this book and the men are 31 , none is married , all are too busy watching out for Trella who was kidnapped at a young age.
Kasim , Crown Prince of Zhamair, visits Angelique at her business to persuade her to stop her affair with the man who is to marry his sister Hasna, and to insist on paying for the wedding clothes the Sauveterre family business is providing for Hasna.
There are some interesting twists and turns to unravel throughout the book as Kasim and Angelique work to sort out what is going on.
This is a good start to the series and I am keen to find out what Dani Collins has instore for the other twins. Anyone who enjoys a romance , will enjoy this book .

Angelique Sauveterre is the quiet twin. The introvert. The one that always hid, until tragedy at the age of eight made her be the strong one for her sister. Letting herself play at being her sister Trella lets her get thru being the face of the company they run. Having to face the Crown Prince of Zhamair, Kasim is very hard. Trying to make him believe in her, and not the lies in the media, she lets out bits and pieces of the tragedy that guides their lives.

Kasim only wants to protect his sister. Angelique is a little too close to her sister's fiancé, and he means to end it. But finds that sparks fly when they are together. And he must decide between the promise to his father, and his own heart. Can he really give up the love of his life?

An OK story. Little slow.

I’ve read this a few times and love it!

I liked this one the best of the Sauveterre stories.

Angelique and Kasim are a great couple and their story was really well done. Emotional, tender and romantic. The author gives equal weight to the POV of both h/H and that really adds depth to them.

I struggle with the way the Sauveterres deal with their sister Trella who was kidnapped when she was 9. They don’t seem to have moved on in 15 years and surely they would all have had counselling etc to help?

I kept thinking their behaviour was counter productive to any recovery for her.

However the focus on Angelique and Kasim is simply delicious. DC creates adult characters who really engage the reader’s interest.

This book was interesting. Definitely different than what I've read before. It was a little more angsty but overall pretty good. It had an interesting storyline and the h Angelique was unique IMO, even if I didn't totally agree with her choices regarding her sister a few times in the book but I'm glad it was an issue that was brought up a few times between her and Kasim and that Kasim wasn't afraid to point out the flaws of her overprotectiveness toward her twin Trella. Overall the book was what I'd call a solid read with a sweet HEA. I'm actually looking forward to checking out the next book in the series, and maybe the rest but we'll see.

To ensure his sister's successful marriage, Kasim, Crown Prince of Zhamair, must stop Angelique Sauveterre's alleged affair with his future brother-in-law. But when Angelique denies any involvement, Kasim can't resist the chance to make the feisty beauty his!

Angelique is tempted by Kasim's offer of a fling--always compared to her twin sister, she's never allowed to just be herself. They couldn't be from two more different worlds, yet Angelique blossoms under Kasim's touch and surrenders to the desert prince. But can he give her more than passion and precious jewels?
