The author has been laying on Feminist conditioning thicker. This is really annoying to me, as if we guys need more of it from books we want to enjoy and escape reality in. His next book gets worse, and I can only assume the trend continues.
There's far too much of this conditioning everywhere, in every movie, TV show, talk show, media, music, and now book. Guys are so easily manipulated. I don't want to read Feminist conditioning in male fantasy novels. It's already everywhere else, let us have our escape time free of manipulation please.
One example of (which ofc come off as non threatening and subtle and normal, and is laid on bit by more bit over time so you acclimate to it) is where the author spends 2 previous paragraphs stating how strong and capable and brave and amazing a girl is and how she can totally handle herself in any situation, far better than most guys could, and could deal with whatever comes her way and would feel sorry for anyone messing with her, and ofc the girls there agree with such statements, BUT then they ALL proceed to get critical and mean toward Idman for asking his daughter to get him medicinal drugs, (who has done this before! And did it fine all those times! And don't forget she's super capable and amazing and doesn't need a man). So right after praising the girl, they get mad at Idman for no other reason than sending a GIRL INSTEAD OF A GUY to do this. Thats the reason they're being jqckasses to Idman, even tho it shouldn't be a problem. And then, even those the girl is so incredible they decide to go help her cuz she's probably in trouble! But when they get there of course it will turn out that she didn't need help and men are stupid for thinking girls need help when they can always take care of themselves!
This is typical feminist bullshyt they keep feeding us. And I love the ones where girls even get angry at men for men defending them. Sigh.
Delivering the Goods The story continues with better bonds being built amongst the frat team for the mage games. Interspersed with Justin trying to learn more about his past the team goes through the games successfully, fighting off the blade sisters amongst others and starting to gel as a team with some strategy. The challenges, environment, and way the games operate are creative and interesting.
The culmination of the games are a journey to raid a Dragon's lair, where death is for keeps. Half the teams drop out because of that.
The dean has set this up because it so happens that Justin's moms soul-focus is in the dragon's horde that his team is sent to raid. Kind of disappointing ending to the big dragon fight as Jason basically one-shots the dragon with a special gee-gaw he got from one of his sponsors.
Then its suddenly Christmas, and Jason gets invited to have it at the Chaosbanes family retreat, involving a ride on the real Santa's sleigh. Aww...
Okay, this book was good. Justin is really getting into his own now. We are finding out some interesting things. He’s made some revelations and some interesting allies. I’m thinking Acer will be added into the fold…. She is a mystery and something to be pondered over for sure….so is Leah, that’s one interesting girl as well as Mallory. Finally meeting Felicity was really cool. I hope we see more of her. I hope there’s some relic or charm to have her in that form more often. Also, I’m hoping we see Justin visit the inscriber soon as well. There’s lots of things to ponder on, especially the Amber dragon! I’m so pumped and hyped for the next book! This book had me laughing at all the jokes. The dwarves armorer was hilarious. 🤣. Onward, lads!
Our Creation Mage and his frat brothers join the qualifiers for the Mage Games. They must use their each skills to beat out alot of other teams to find and ends up as a monsters egg. Oof, well, you'll see. And he gets to see his dead dad... After the win they must work to increase themselves while getting better as a team. They fight in the Mages Games to kill the biggest and meanest monster, yes a dragon. The size of 2 city busses... The treasure found is his mothers staff with her soul, to talk to in the next book...
By book 5 you know what to expect for this series. It's action packed adventure with the mage games upon our motel crew of misfits. Lots of action on and off the field of battle with more new spells being learnt in the best way possible. The end of book 5 sees the best teaser for book 6 and damn it! I want it now!
What can I say? Dante King is the frikkin man! Actiony Action! Sexy Sex! Sarcasticky Sarcasm! This series has it all! And this is another awesome entry in said series. Seriously though, do yourself a favor and if you’ve haven’t stated the Creation Mage series, do so now! And if you have? Well you aren’t reading this review because you’re already hooked!
This series keeps getting better and better. Following Justin’s adventures has been so mesmerizing, this when I read these books at night I get no sleep, no inclination to stop at a chapter and drift off. I can’t wait to read book 6 and see how Justin’s Yuletide adventure progresses
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. The War Mage Qualifers are upon the guys as danger lurks around every twist and turn. The story and characters were intriguing and engaging. I look forward to reading more about these characters and their further adventures. This book is definitely worth reading.
I thoroughly enjoyed the latest installment of this series. Action, adventure, dragons vicious bitches that way our hero for nefarious purposes. Top it off with adult action I can't wait to see where we go from here! Buy this book you will enjoy it!
If you are on book 5 you.know what this is all about. The action gets more exciting and our boys are in the thick of it. I can't wait to see what these new possisilities present in the next book.
The best interest the series so far!!!! Great battles, great magic and fantastic adult fantasy action!!!! As always from Dante King first rate world building and a truly enjoyable story!!! I for one can hardly wait to see what comes next!!! Keep up the great story telling!!!!
This latest installment in the story is great I had a lot of fun reading it and it was full of humor, exciting times, tough situations and hot romance. I'm really liking this series a lot I hope the next one comes out soon.
Back again with another amazing tale from nevermoore
I fully loved the latest adventure of the creation mage and his fellow band of misfits and lovely ladies. I eagerly await the next chapter and can’t wait to see what comes next.
I'm not one for writing reviews but I enjoyed this series so much. I loved the story and the humour. It makes for a great escapist read during these dreary times. Thanks and keep them coming.
This is the most enjoyable book of the entire Creation Mage series yet. I really enjoyed the antics of the main character and his buddies. Who even fought a dragon this time.
More sexy women and enemies abound in this episode. I like the maturation of magic that is shown. I also enjoyed the reference to an old sorcerer from another series. The will and the word are quite a ways off from this tale!
If you've gotten to book five, the important things to know: Justin continues to be a badass, the plot starts to speed up a bit, and it still feels like the same series and tone. This was a fun book for me.
My third reread and have enjoyed it more than ever. First read sped through, next read the story wasn't complete, finished number ten as it was released and knew it was time for a full read of them all!😀
The story really keeps you guessing and on your toes. Beautiful job by the author letting the reader get just enough of the suspense and questions moving forward without giving too much of the overall story away. Very funny dialogue. Bring on Book 6.
Good story the ending was a little screw up . There would be hell to pay because they didn't return to the stadium . The council would be very suspicious so that part was kinda of stupid.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
We are into book 5 of this series and the author does a good job of keeping things interesting. The story started out a bit slow but ended on good pace.
