Hunter Brothers #1

Reckless Entanglement

Rate this book
Callie.
It was one of those days. I was late at college, and then I went off to work my shift at the restaurant and the first thing I do is trip on someone's handbag.
I'd have fallen flat on my face if not for a pair of hands that appeared out of nowhere to catch me.
Oh my, what strong hands.
I looked up and nearly fainted. The man was a freaking god! Those fabulous cheekbones, the extravagant sweep of sooty lashes, and that chiseled, arrogant jawline.
Apparently, Matt Hunter was there to work though. Which kinda shocked me. What would a guy like him be doing in a job like this?
Later I found out he had been running another branch of the restaurant chain, got demoted for unknown reasons, and sent here.
Curiouser and curiouser.
And then I found out his secret, and exactly what he was doing there... but not before our reckless entanglement and after I let myself fall for him.

NOTE: This book is a full length standalone romance with a happily ever after.

Didn't care for this one

At about 18% I was seriously questioning why I was bothering to continue to read the story. I didn't really care for the characters. I knew more about the state of her private area then either one of the main characters personalities. Callie has decided she's falling in love with Matt, when she knows nothing about him. Nothing short of his name and what he looks like. She rode on a bus with him for a few days telling him everything about herself. I guess the only qualifier here is they're both attractive. Apparently that's all it takes to develop deep feelings. She is manic and he is secretive. I really like this author and have read many of their books. This one just did not resonate with me. It wasn't well written, the characters were less than one dimensional and juvenile. Callie is flighty and immature. More high school thsn college. Majority of the book is basically the two of them with a strong lust for each other. There's no build up, no chemistry written into the pages, nothing. If you're looking for an Ioma Rose book, I would not start with this one.
Standalone, though part of series. Told from dual POV. No cheating no cliffhanger. HFN ending.

Callie works at the diner, taking enough shifts to cover her school tuition as she works toward her degree. Her boss is a tyrant who has a chip on his shoulder and wants to make her life miserable. Mario has been hitting on her and is angry that she's not responding the way he wants her to. One day, she not only came in late, but she tripped over a purse and just about hit the ground, still carrying the meals. Lucky for her, the new guy was standing right in front of her and managed to grab her and keep her off the floor. It took awhile for Callie and her colleagues to learn that his name is Matt and he had just been transferred from another restaurant. He's hiding the truth about who he really is and why he's there, and can't afford to have anybody discover his plan. Callie and Matt can't stay away from one another and they have a few casual dates, followed by some more formal ones, and all the while Callie is beginning to understand that he's very wealthy and she doesn't know if she can trust him. Matt asks her for some time to make sure that his plan is carried out safely and effectively. Callie has trust issues that, yes, are understandable, but she's so hard on Matt that she succeeds in pushing him away. But together, they're on fire and Matt knows he's going to have to come clean with her before he loses her for good. They are a passionate couple and are deliriously happy when they're together, but it's a struggle to smooth everything out and have a chance at a happily ever after. The secondary characters add so much life to this story and their personalities are humorous and loving. This book is sweet, sexy and the mystery about Matt is brilliant. Captivating!

I really enjoyed everything about this book. The main male character Matt is my favorite kind of hero. He’s sweet, caring, a one woman alpha male, and just enough drama to make a good twist. I liked the way that the drama was approached in this book. The reader knows that Matt is keeping a secret but even the reader doesn’t know what it is until the main female character, Callie, discovers what it is. I liked that approach because as the reader we are trying to guess what he’s hiding too and can totally relate to the possibilities that Callie creates in her mind. I liked Callie’s character as well; she is independent, refuses to cheat her way up the ladder, and totally crazy about Matt. My only complaint about her is that when Matt’s lies start to unravel, and he’s having the worse day ever, the way she approaches him makes it worse. I wish that she would have given him a chance to sort out the unfolding drama before asking for answers. I think it would have been met with a much better result and caused less heartbreak for them both. However it did build on the drama of the book, plus she’s young, and she wanted answers about what he has been hiding so it’s forgivable and didn’t make me like the book any less. I really enjoyed the characters, the story, the heavy steam, and the ending! I would read this again and highly recommend it.

Callie is working at the restaurant whilst paying for college and just trying to survive. Although it's not where she wants to be and the manager is a lazy sleaze, the hours work for her and the tips are good. Then she meets Matt who turns up as the new waiter but who Callie knows is hiding stuff from her. They travel home on the subway together and start to talk and the chemistry sparks between them. Matt isn't who he says he is but he can't risk telling Callie who is really is and what's he doing at the restaurant. He tries not to give in to temptation knowing that will put him at risk but in the end they can't help giving in. Their chemistry is undeniable and they enjoy spending time together but can Callie forgive him when she discovers his lies. If he doesn't tell Callie he risks losing her, but if he does he puts his reason for being there at risk. Matt is between a rock and a hard place but can Callie ever forgive his deceit?

This story captures you from the start - thoroughly recommend.

Fantastic!!

The story of Matt and Called is fantastic!!! The story draws you in from the very beginning. This is a great twist on the whole dating the boss or CEO book Matt really does try his best to keep his secret but that was never going to work. The only complication was falling for Callie and even though he knows he has to stay away from her he falls in head first.

Callie is a strong girl working hard to provide the best future for herself taking great pride in working for everything she has. She is very proud especially since she is putting herself through uni with no family to help support her taking handouts or preferential treatment and especially not sleeping with the boss.

The Hunter brothers are an interesting bunch I can see lots of ups and downs in the future. Can't wait to see what is in store for larger than life Sebastian.

Another fantastic read by Iona Rose definitely worth the read 100% recommended

Callie works at a diner to help pay for college when she meet Matt. Matt comes to work at the diner as a waiter but has a secret that he is keeping. Matt tries to keep things between him and Callie professional but its not long before they both give into temptation. Callie starts noticing Matt doing thing he shouldn't at work that have her questioning him but when their manager doesn't do anything to him for it Callie wonders more. Soon things escalate and Matt knows things are going to come out. Will he get to tell Callie his secret before she finds out on her own? Can the move past his deceit?

This is a great story that will captivate you from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Beautiful, she found the love of her life, friend and soul mate from a reckless entanglement.

A college student working at a high end restaurant and trying not to get involved with her colleagues. Callie was two minutes late for her shift when the manager started harassing her. She was taking an order to a customer when she tripped and almost fell when a pair of strong hands kept her from falling. Matt was the new waiter and he was just starting his shift. Callie tried to avoid him but they hit it off and with the secrets Callie didn’t want to be hurt. But the body knows what wants even if the mind is stubborn. Matt perused Callie on every angle. I enjoyed Matt and Callie’s story. Beautifully written and I highly recommend if you are looking for a good love story.

Hello Drama. Reckless Entanglement is the first installment to the new Hunter Brothers Series and it is easy to get drawn right in to this storyline.

Every interaction between Callie and Matt is full of irresistible passion and chemistry. This entire publication covers a wide range of emotions and you can bet that you'll have your nose buried in your Kindle, all the way to the end... Willingly. Overall Amazingly Crafted.

I was beyond fortunate to have requested an advanced reader's copy of Reckless Entanglement, from The Bad Boy Update, in exchange for my honest and voluntarily given opinion and I highly recommend reading this release.

This is the first book in the The Hunter Brothers Series. This book is read as a standalone and is a full length romance. This is a cute book that was well written with an engaging story line and likable characters. It won't take long for Callie and Matt to pull you into their world. Fate brought them together and their chemistry was explosive. Plenty of drama and some suspense but eventually an HEA. The book was well written and had a good flow. I read an advance copy via Bad Boy Update and voluntarily chose to review it.

Pleasant and Entertaining Storyline.
Matt and Chloe, the protagonists, provided for an entertaining storyline that held my interest from start to finish. The book was well-written and flowed nicely from chapter to chapter. The one thing that didn’t seem needed was having Callie in college as it lent nothing to the overall story. Besides that I do recommend this book for your reading enjoyment and satisfaction. PEACE.

This is a well written story with likable characters. Matt Hunter had come from another branch of the restaurant chain where Callie worked. No one was sure why he ended up with them, however. Callie and Matt quickly got together when their sizzling chemistry could no longer be ignored. But by the time Callie found out what his secret was, she had already fallen for him.

This story is filled with drama and suspense, well-paced and easily keeping the reader’s attention. Will they ever get their HEA? Grab your copy and find out what’s really going on!

This was a fun book (though I think it was supposed to be somewhat of a thrilling mystery) with a HEA ending. I think it was obvious from the beginning that Matt had some ownership interest in Trattoria and was doing some important (to him) undercover work. He was unhappy with himself for being tempted to distraction by the innocent Callie. However, our sympathies are for the hardworking girl who is wooed by a man keeping secrets that turn harmful to her situation, making this a book worth reading for sure! I look forward to more Hunters Brothers!

Callie goes to college and works at the restaurant to pay for it. She can't stand her boss, but in general she likes her job. It get better when hot new guy Matt starts to work there. The attraction is mutual but their flirty encounters suddenly end and Callie is left with more questions than answers. Matt wants to do what is best for the family, but his desire for Callie will override his duty. Great story with just the right amount of drama, intrigue and passion! I received this ARC from Bad Boy Updates.

Matt and Callie both try to resist the other, to no avail. Their intense chemistry will not allow it. My only real issue with the Story was Callie always thinking the worst about Matt every time something made her question him. She acted pretty immature about a lot of it. At least she has a friend who is her voice of reason. Now is Sebastian going to get a book?

This is a full length novel, first in the series of the Hunter Brothers. Well written with drama, humor, romance, and miscommunication, you get all the feels while reading this captivating story. Ms. Rose definitely knows how to grab the reader’s attention and keep them intrigued. I’m very much looking forward to Sebastian and Chance’s stories.

Callie works as a waitress to pay for her way through college. She has a problem with the manager, Marco who treats her badly after she refused his advances. Things look up when a new waiter, Matt starts working with her. However, although the chemistry between them is instant, Matt seems to be hiding something from her. Eventually his secret comes out but Callie doesn't know if she can give him a second chance. Hot and steamy romance. Read an ARC for an honest review.

A co-worker/employee romance

This is your typical co-worker romance with a little mystery. Callie is working as a waitress at La trattoria a restaurant while going to college. A new hot man starts working at the restaurant and Callie is instantly attracted to him but tries to avoid the complications with dating a co worker. Matt has a secret and he hopes that when the truth comes out, Callie will forgive him. The suspense element brought a bit of depth to this simple story.

Loved this book. Matt is the oldest of three brothers and when his restaurant has money missing he goes undercover to find out who, Callie is a college student that works at the restaurant but one thing she never counted on was getting feelings for Matt. Will she be able to forgive him when she learns the truth about who he is?

Good romance, tender and hot
The story is very well written, cute, a little predictable, but very hot and sometimes moving. There is also a bit of suspense about Matt's presence at the restaurant where Callie is a waitress. She falls under his spell but although both try not to give in, their rapprochement seems inevitable.

I received this as an arc for my honest review

This was an okay story. A bit too much lying going on, I just can’t really see a relationship lasting when it starts with so much mistrust and secrecy. I did however really like Seb and hope he gets a story.

Good Book

I have enjoyed this book and Matt & Callie’s story, I guessed who Matt was at the beginning just didn’t realise the real reason thought it was just to check on things.
Sebastian is funny though and his story should be good.

Good story

I've read her books before and this book seemed to be like a different writer. I think the love scenes went on a little too long. Every little thing didn't need to be described
