Lisa Renee’s first full-time job was as a marketing manager at 19 years of age. From there, she learned the ins and outs of small business and went on to create three business start-ups, including developing her own brand of organic smoothies and lattes.
When Lisa got the writing bug, she switched gears and now loves coming up with swoon-worthy stories filled with awkward moments, adding love and laughter to every page of her romantic comedies.
When she's not writing, you can find her enjoying nature, hiking, snorkeling or with her running buddies, jogging the great outdoors of her home country, Australia.
Aussie romances filled with snapshots of real-life grit.
Book 1: I enjoyed Lisa Renee's debut novel, especially the Australianisms and familiar everyday conversation. It's nice to read a novel set in Australia written by a local. 😊
Cassie and Chris were both interesting individuals filled with past hurts and struggles. Their journey from friendship to courtship was far from smooth. A real-life depiction of the intricacies of some relationships and work environments.
Book 2: What an unexpected story! Lisa Renee has a gift writing real-life yet unpredictable characters. Her stories tend to travel along paths where you don't think a character will go... which is refreshing as a reader!
This novel followed Chantelle Anderson, Cassie's best friend (the protagonist from the first book in the series) and single mother to Noah. Life has dealt Chantelle blow after blow, and mixed with poor past decisions, she's now living a difficult life.
Several people enter her life, and I thought she might've found happiness early on in the piece... but no. Chantelle's happiness is fleeting at best, and non-existent for large sections of the book. Yet the story is never completely devoid of hope... and I was so thankful for this.
Unpredictable, devastating and disheartening at times, yet a true example of redemption and second chances. Chantelle's story is based on true events, another surprise in the mix of surprises.
Book 3: This is the second Lisa Renee book I've read (yes, read it before book 2!), and I loved it! The story was engaging from the turbulent opening scene right through to the end.
I liked Beth although I got upset with her at times. My hubby heard me exclaim, 'What are you doing, woman?' several times (funnily, his name is Winston!) but was satisfied I was fine, ha ha.
I loved Lachlan from the first moment he graced the pages. Swoony and respectable. I love me a faith-filled man. 😍
The Nick situation challenged me. I won't go into any details for spoilers sake, but he conflicted my heart at times.
A wonderful read! Bravo! NB I received an ARC of this novel.

Contemporary Christian Romance, Australian setting, Sweet Romance, Clean Romance, Christian Fiction
Set in my corner of the world (Perth Western Australia and southwest Busselton my hometown gets a mention in book 2). Amazing to read Australian culture in Christian fiction plus the spiritual aspect even though Christian online dating/chat sites can be dodgy! Yeah! From someone who tried it for a time. Interesting my son told the guys to leave his mum alone? I went as far as travel to the eastern states to meet single Men. Some years ago now and I'm still single. ( kids are adults no grandchildren in site but dogs only)I had a tug-of-war in my mind in reading these stories as some is my story and challenged me to keep turning the pages. Second chances in relationships verses being lonely/alone? Where are these bible followers in our country. Unevenly yoked Men verses the believing Men who struggle of mental and spiritual battle that goes on.(women also have these issues.)Trying to witness and your identity/beliefs don't match the good life. Cassie and Chris Chantelle and Noah her 12/13yr old son. Andrew Lachlan and Beth
