What happens when a summer fling doesn’t end with the season?
Sarah Blue has one dream—to open her own pet boarding business. When she receives an offer to spend three months in a penthouse looking after two dogs, she intends to do the best dog-sitting job possible and focus on her business plan. What she didn’t expect was to run into a stranger so handsome that she could barely put two words together at the sight of him.
And she certainly didn’t expect him to live across the hall and befriend her. Brigham Monaghan’s reputation is on the line. After an arrest that went very public, his future as an outfielder with Los Soles isn’t guaranteed. With his life a total mess, he welcomes the distraction from the blue-haired girl across the hall who not only doesn’t know his name, but hates sports. It’s the perfect situation.
But things get complicated when what was supposed to be summer fun and flirting turns into something more. Sarah’s business takes off, while Brigham’s future is barely hanging on by a thread. With the odds stacking up against Brigham, Sarah can’t help questioning his motives. Did he fall hard for her, like she did him, or is it just a PR ploy?
Jaqueline Snowe lives in Arizona where the "dry heat" really isn't that bad. She prefers drinking coffee all hours of the day and snacking on anything that has peanut butter or chocolate. She is the mother to two dogs who don’t realize they aren’t humans and a = mom to the sweetest boy. She is an avid reader and writer of romances and tends to write about athletes. Her husband works for an MLB team (not a player, lol) so she knows more about baseball than any human ever should.
Jaqueline Snowe hit a grand slam with Rounding The Bases!!!
In My Own Words:
Rounding The Bases is the third book in Jaqueline Snowe’s Out Of The Park series. Sarah and Brigham’s book can be read as a standalone.
College isn’t for everyone and Sarah Blue has bigger dreams that require far more attention than sitting in a classroom everyday. Her dream is to one day start her very own pet sitting business. With a few clients already on his list, she’s already marking her path in the world of pet sitting and rescuing. Never in her wildest dreams would she have ever thought pet sitting would change her life. But when she accepts a job, breaks her lease and moves into a penthouse for three months that’s exactly what happens and it’s all thanks to her sexy as sin neighbor Brigham.
Brigham is in hot water with the public eye, so he’s forced to stay on the straight and narrow. That means no partying, no clubbing, and no random women. Basically he is forced to live like a nun and take his fifeteen game suspension with a smile or accept his walking papers from the team. He’s innocent of all crimes, but somebody is out to get him. He now lives his life working out and keeping a low profile while letting his manager and his lawyer figure his shit out. But sometimes those who are closest may not always be the most trustworthy. So when he runs into his new ‘short-term’ neighbor, Sarah, he finds her innocence and her quirkiness fascinating. She’s unlike anyone he’s ever known. And he’ll do everything in his power to find out more about the beauty.
My Thoughts:
Jaqueline Snowe is a slight new author to me. Rounding The Bases is the second book I read by her and It must be said, the more I read by her the more I am loving her overall writing and storytelling style!!!
This book was an addiction. I couldn’t put it down to save my life.
So I’m a complete sucker when it comes to opposites attract storylines. Starting from the beginning Brigham and Sarah couldn’t be more opposite if they tried. Brigham sleeps and breathes athletics, while Sarah is more the quirky girl who wants to save the world. Brigham is the player of the story who doesn’t have a hard time finding a good time, and Sarah is the good girl virgin of the story who says exactly what is on her mind at that exact time, whether it be appropriate or not. Let’s just say, these two were so much fun to read… and Miss Sarah Blue may just be one of my favorite characters of 2021!! This girl, I honestly never knew what she was going to say next! I loved expecting the unexpected. Sarah was so genuine and sweet and she was exactly what a man like Brigham needed in his life. Someone who wanted him for the man he was and not for the ball player he was.
The chemistry between Sarah and Brigham was off the charts. I felt the connection from the minute the two met to the moment they fell in love and everytime in between. I can just imagine the goofy smile I had on my face while reading their story. I also loved the fact that Sarah rationalized every situation regarding Brigham that was thrown at her. In the short time she knew him, she learned he was worthy of her trust. I loved those moments where she would show Brigham she trusted his word and his actions. And anyone who tried to jeopardize that trust, well they saw a side of Sarah that was rarely ever seen. My heart loved these two.
I also enjoyed the fact that Sarah’s career path isn’t much mentioned in romances. This girl wants to save the world one animal at a time. She wants to not only own her own boarding house for dogs, she also wants to rescue all the puppies she can get her hands on. She has a beautiful soul and it shows throughout the pages of this romance. I can’t say this enough...my heart was invested in this one!
I loved this relationship in every way. I loved the playful banter moments just as much as I loved the serious moments. Their story started off with strong romantic comedy vibes, those vibes slowly morphed into a slight angsty approach the more their feelings and hearts became invested. Sarah and Brigham both have their own heartfelt backstory, which is the reasoning behind why I dropped a star in my rating. I wanted more of an insight into their backstories. I wanted to feel the pain of Sara’s parents (mother mostly) not being accepting of her dreams. But let’s chalk that up to a picky reader preference. And I wanted a flashback to what caused the dramatic nightmare Brigham is currently living in.
Alright, I think that’s enough rambling for now. So now that I’m finished reading Rounding The Bases, I have a strong urge to go back and start the series from the beginning. I really want to know Brigham’s friends more. I have a feeling their stories will also be one hell of a ride! If you’re looking for a sweet, quirky and sexy read look no further and pick up Rounding The Bases by Jaqueline Snowe!
It is no secret that I love sports romances. There’s just something about them that melts my butter. Rounding The Bases, has got to be my favorite baseball romance of 2021. Not only is it an incredibly sexy read, it’s also an amazingly sweet one as well.
Brigham is a sexy as sin player, on and off the field. His partying ways, having gotten him into a situation that just might end his career. Normally bad boys don’t do it for me, but this particular one - does.
Sarah Blue is a ray of sunshine. She is a unicorn. Beautiful inside and out. She charms every man, woman and pup that she meets. I loved her. Brigham and Fiona meet and hit.it.off. I absolutely LOVED every minute they spent together. Even though they tried, they could not stop themselves from falling head over heels in love. And what an incredibly sexy, sweet and funny ride it is. TBR Rounding The Bases and enjoy!
It was a delicious surprise. The tropes and character types were nothing original, but the situations and some scenes made up for it.
I’m a sucker for ex playboys who change their ways when they meet the right woman. Here, Brigham re-discovers himself, learns that intimacy means something else when feelings are involved, and ultimately becomes a giant teddy bear. I loved it.
Sarah was an adorable character–naive, awkward, but also caring. I loved the way Brigham took care of her. Her interactions with her friends–and some enemies–and her parents were interesting and created a fully fleshed out character.
There was just a bit of sports in this sports romance, but it was okay with me because I know nothing about baseball. Still I enjoyed the glimpse at the team’s dynamic–especially Brigham with his friends, and with his coach, though we don’t see much of it.
I felt the whole premise, with Brigham being accused of something, was a bit weak, as I’m not sure it would happen that way. This part of the plot made little sense sometimes. But that’s okay, it was mostly an excuse. It still worked in the whole story.
Quite an enjoyable read, with a lot of heat and a lot of heart.

OK, first of all, this book is a re-release, and it has been updated. I haven't read the first version, so I don't know what changed, but make sure you grab this new one when you want to read it 😁
Some might think I'm crazy. Some might even think I'm lying, but I'm not. I'll never ly in any of my reviews! They are 100% honest. In my last review for this author (an ARC I just posted a couple weeks ago), I said this book is the best I've read by Jaqueline. I have read nearly all her books, so I thought it couldn't be wrong. Don't get me wrong, the book was (and still is) a wonderful book, but after reading this one now I have to change my opinion 😎
I loved Sarah and Brigs so much. They are so perfect. But the reason why I love this book so much is, I think I could be Sarah 😁 Her dreams could easily be mine. I love dogs. I was a dog sitter myself when I was a teen. I had them at home, but I also stayed at someone's home once. Doing that professionally and having a house where the dogs could stay, WOW, absolute yes. And I wouldn't say no to a hot baseball player who wants me 🤣 And yes, all the trouble with the freaking press and all that, that's what I could do without. I felt so sorry for Brigs. I knew he was innocent. I believed him, even without his POV, but it's definitely not easy 😔
I now have book 1 in this series left, and I'll read it soon. Excited to read Gideon and Fiona's story 🤩
Firstly,I want to thank Love Notes Pr & Jaqueline Snowe for trusting me with this ARC 🫶🏻
Sarah Blue, gets a season job in order to fullfil her dream:opening her very own pet boarding bussiness. With her being just one step away from starting it the last thing she wants, is to fall madly in love with her neighboor ,who happens to be THE HOTTIE while being involved in a very public arrest, that may cost him his career. Will he give her his heart or it is an another PR ploy? That book was so,so good that I cannot even desribe it.The moment I read the first line I was Oh,Boy this is going to get GOOD! Sarah was my absolute favourite, with her bright personality and sarcasm, she lighted up the whole story. She was such an interesting character due to her ambitions to make her dream true despite anything.Added she was very cute!My favourite characteristic of her,was apart from the blue hair, her SASHY personality-girl I am your NO1 fan! On the other side Brigham,is the classic retired f*ckboy which we love to hate, and hate to love,he was tall hansome, and talented, yet life slapped him so hard that he doesn't even know if he is going to recover. When his BB comes into his life he evolves to cutie pie. Now,his only weakness is her,and he will gladly let her end him. Their romance was PERFECT,fast-paced,passionate even sincere.I loved that they trust each other to the bone, something that Snowe made clear really fast in their relationship.Plus,it is Sarah's first experience in everything-YES EVERYTHING,and she is so cute in her confusion on how to make things right! As you understood, many passioante moments WILL happen and oh.my.god. that man was ❤️🔥
To continue with,I loved that except from the romance we had a mystery happening around what actually happened with B,which added a whole other vibe into the book, that made you wanting to dive even more. Personally,it was one of my favourites!I cannot wait to reread✨ 5⭐
I may or may not be obsessed with Brigham and Sarah. I absolutely loved their teasing back and forth. Sarah was the right amounts of hilarious, witty, with a little chaos. I loved her personality so much. The way she worked her way right into the grumpy doorman’s heart over time bringing him baked goods. 😂
Not only Fernie’s heart, but right into Brigham’s as well. The way he called her Blue Bell. 🥹 *swoon* I love a cute nickname! He was so down bad for her. He was the sweetest and most attentive with Sarah in all their most intimate moments. He also made sure she never gave up on her dream, even with the little side voices (her mother) telling her that’s not a career, but just a phase.
I loved that Sarah didn’t care what Brigs did or who he was. It was such a breath of fresh air for Brigs to have someone that loved him for him and not who he was or what he did. Someone in his corner after all the media BS thrown at him from his old partying ways.
It was fun seeing Mitch (another nickname I loved so much) and Brooks in this book as well as Gideon and Fiona. I still need to go back and read their story! They were there every step of the way for Brigs as well.
Thank you Jaqueline and Love Notes PR for this ARC. I loved getting Brigham story after meeting him in Sliding Home.
“She believed she could, so she made out with a hot stranger in a hallway.”
This was my first read by this author, and i finished it in one day! While the hockey boys tend to be more popular in books, I am a baseball girl through and through and Brigham delivered.
From the very first chapter, I was hooked by Sarah Blue. She’s chaotic in the best way, refreshingly unfiltered, and oozes a kind of confidence most of us only dream about. Watching her win over not just Brigham, but even the doorman? Power moves.
Sarah and Brigham meet while she’s pet-sitting, and their connection is instant. Sarah has no idea Brigham is a “sports baller” which is just fine with him, since he's dealing with some damaging and highly publicised false accusations that threaten to ruin his career.
As their relationship deepens (not without some drama), Brigham starts to realise he is worth more than a paycheck. And the way he shows up for Sarah? From walking her dog, to standing up to her parents, to supporting her dreams… this man delivers.
Now, why not five stars? While I loved the chemistry, some of the steamy scenes didn’t quite align with Sarah’s bold, confident personality. I know talking about the ‘bases’ was a cute play on words and ‘virgin heroine’ is one of the tropes, but for me, some of the scenes made her appear more immature than she’s portrayed throughout the rest of the book. It just didn’t quite land for me.
That said, the romance, emotional growth, and overall storyline were well done. I absolutely recommend giving this one a read!

Big thanks to Love Notes PR for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
This was my first book by this author, and this book did not disappoint. This was a cute and steamy book that had all of the feels. Sarah has grown up with judgmental and non-supportive parents and is finally branching out to pursue her dreams of owning her own pet parlor/spa. She meets Brigham while she’s finalizing her first big client. Brigham is a hotshot Baller, who is dealing with some legal issues, as a consequence of one night out. As the story progresses, these two begin to form a friendship due to being neighbors. Of course, as time goes by the attraction between these two start to grow. I loved how quirky and fun and adorable Sarah was. She was the funny to Brigham’s seriousness and broodiness. Underneath the hard exterior, we see the soft side of Brigham. My heart really went out to him because I know what it’s like to be accused of something that you didn’t do and then being judged for it. I was happy to see the story work in both of their favors because, who doesn’t like a happy ending? I was so happy and glad to see Brigham actually stand up for what he wanted and get rid of toxic people in his life as well as seeing Sarah stand up to her parents as well. These two were just such a cute couple and I finished the story with a smile on my face. Sarah deserved a man like Brigham who stood up for her and gave her all of the love and support that she deserved. Shout out for the cute nickname he had for her! In a way this story was an example to show that we all deserve better and it’s never too late to speak up for yourself and to take up for what you want.
I received a free copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
I adored this! Sarah was an absolute delight. I loved everything about her - her energy, openness, awkwardness, authenticity and joy. And Brigham is drawn to her like a moth to a flame. Their blossoming love story - while Sarah chases her dreams and Brigham watches his potentially going up in smoke - was real and raw, sweet and swoony, sassy and sexy, frustrating and heart-wrenching - and I couldn't get enough. Their instant connection, passion, sincerity and trust kept me glued to the pages, and their happy ending left me with a warm glow.
I was lucky to get an early copy from the author and Love Notes PR and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
From page one, it’s clear Sarah’s relationship with her parents is complicated. I appreciated how that thread remained present throughout the book. Watching it evolve added real depth and emotional weight to her character. I loved how unfiltered and genuinely herself she is. Sarah’s voice isn’t quirky for the sake of being quirky, it’s real and refreshing.
The dynamic between Sarah and Brigham starts with a lovely meet-cute and grows into something feels sweet, balanced and supportive. He’s open about the fact that he’s struggling with where his life is at, but he doesn’t want to use her to fix it. He actually sees her. He finds her endearing, never treats her like she’s too much and clearly likes her for who she is, not in spite of her quirks but because of them.
He treats her with genuine tenderness, he gives her space when she asks, lets the physical side of their relationship develop at her pace and supports her dreams in a very real way. His friends also jump straight in to support her, which adds to Brigham’s depth, he has strong genuine friendships with people who will support him and those he cares about. We don’t meet his family but we definitely get to known his found family. Also, him standing up to her parents? Swoon-worthy.
Where Brigham lets us down, is his agent. I really did not like him at all (great writing to make me loath a fictional person quite so much!). I wish Brigham had been open and honest from the beginning about the way his agent was pulling strings. There were definitely things that were big issues to hide from Sarah, especially after how vulnerable she was with him.
I’m usually not a fan of third-act breakups or miscommunication tropes. That said, it was written with so much emotional intensity that I found myself understanding both sides, even if I didn’t like it. I fully understood where Sarah was coming from. I had a bit less sympathy for Brigham at that point, he definitely wallowed and got stuck in a cycle of self-pity. Thankfully, his brilliant friends gave him the push he needed to get it together. Him finally standing up for himself was a long time coming. It was mostly satisfying, although some parts felt unresolved. We don’t get a clear answer as to why he was set up or how involved his agent was. I’m still side-eyeing Charles in every scene. Was it a cover-up? A vendetta? Or was Brigham just an easy scapegoat?
Now to the makeup. His apology to Sarah was well written and solid, did she forgive him a little quickly for my liking? Yes, but it’s a HEA after all. I just like a good grovel.
I always love a good epilogue. That little flash forward, whether it is 6 months or 6 years is a lovely insight into what happens after the HEA. Seeing them both thrive, Sarah getting her dream? Absolutely fantastic.
Definitely one I’d recommend if you like your romance with heart, slow-burn trust, a bit of chaos on the side and just the right amount of spice (with no weird euphemisms, thankfully). Jacqueline Snow is one of those authors I’ll always run to read, and I’ve never regretted it.
“Mm. I made him mm. That word was going on my gravestone.”
Rounding The Bases was a funny, sweet, interesting, and deliciously spicy read! Right from the beginning I was hooked on Sarah and Brigham’s story, and loved the chemistry and heat radiating off them 💙 The plot is well written, interesting, and it kept me on my toes at times! I loved the characters, their banter, and watching their relationships develop with others and one another 🤍
Sarah was such a presence and I absolutely loved her and her bold, confident personality 😍 She is unapologetically herself and says what is on her mind! (Even though sometimes she feels like her mouth works faster than her brain 😝) She is hilarious and made me laugh so much! With Brigham she feels comfortable to fully be her real self, and I loved watching her be just that 💙 She may have been innocent when she met him, but oh boy… This girl is hot, hot, hot 🥵 She has such a passion for what she does and her dream, and works so hard. On top of that, she cares deeply about Brigham and wants to be able to help him through his struggles. Seeing her push and work through her issues and relationship conflicts was awesome, and I was rooting for her every step of the way! She was able to mend some personal relationships and it was so sweet to see 😌 I loved watching her character change and grow, and seeing her relationship progress with Brigham was both sweet and sooo spicy 😉🤍
Let me just say that Brigham is a heck of a teacher for starters, if you know what I mean 🥵… *Ahem* He is also a sweet, sensitive, and really caring guy! Seeing the different types of vulnerable sides to him both melted and broke my heart 💙 He has his inner and outside struggles, and watching him go through and deal with them was interesting to read. It definitely isn’t easy, and he did make me mad and irritated me at times from how he handled some things 😒, but seeing him try to work through everything he does proves that he is not just physically strong, but very strong mentally too. Sarah is the opposite of him, but he is drawn in as soon as they meet! I loved how patient and caring he was with her, and he really put her and her feelings first 🤍 But also, good lord the things he says and does… 🥵 This man made me weak in the knees, swoon, and sweat! Somehow Brigham is both spicy red hot, and the kind of sweet that gives you a toothache 💙
Sarah and Brigham have a hilarious, sweet, super hot, and gripping story that will have you from start to finish!! The plot is very interesting, and well written, paced, and developed. I loved Sarah and Brigham’s characters, their growth with each other and individually, and the way their relationship progresses 😍 The spice will make you sweat, the sweetness will make you swoon, and the banter will make you laugh! This was a fantastic read that I really enjoyed 🤍
Baseball romances are slowly but surely sliding into my heart, and Rounding The Bases just hit a home run for me. Jaqueline gave me everything I crave in a sports romance — fun, love, drama, steam, and a couple of adorable dogs to top it all off.
Let’s start with Sarah Blue. She is an absolute hoot — blonde with blue streaks in her hair, love and optimism in her soul, and a mouth that has zero filter (with hilarious results). She’s also an animal lover on a mission to open her own pet boarding business — and honestly, when animals are involved, I’m already sold. Her strained relationship with her parents tugged at my heartstrings, but watching her stand her ground and stay true to herself was so satisfying and inspiring.
And Brigham. Sweet, struggling Brigham. He’s under investigation for something he didn’t do, benched from the game he loves more than anything, and doing his best to hold it all together for sponsors, fans, and friends — but then Sarah barrels into his world, and you just know they’re it for each other. Their chemistry is off the charts but what I loved most is how tenderly their spicy moments are written. Nothing rushed, always full of consent, warmth, trust, and real connection. Brigham is an absolute consent king — patient, gentle, and so in tune with what Sarah wants and needs. He falls first, fast, and hard, and he works so hard to keep her safe from the chaos swirling around him — but Sarah doesn’t care about the headlines or the mess. She just wants him — all of him.
I also have to gush about the side characters because they brought so much extra charm and warmth. The dachshund duo, Pico and Cassidy, absolutely stole every scene — I want them immediately. Ferdinand, the grumpy-but-soft doorman, was secretly one of my favorites — all grouch on the outside, total marshmallow on the inside. And Megan and Ethan, Sarah’s found family, were such a delight — always ready with support, hugs, or a glass of wine when she needed it most. They made the story feel so real and cozy — like people you’d want in your own corner.
I will say there were a couple of typos here and there that threw me off for a second — but honestly, they were easy to forgive because the writing overall was so warm, fun, and engaging.
If you’re looking for a baseball romance that brings the laughs, the feels, the spice, and all the found-family vibes, Rounding The Bases is it. Jaqueline knocked this one out of the park — and I can’t wait to see what she writes next! ⚾🐾💙✨
I was totally in love with Brigham. He’s a baseball player who’s having trouble with his image and unlike I expected he didn’t want to use Sarah to boost his image. He was always trying to protect her about the bad publicity he was getting and I loved him for it.
(And let me tell you… he’s the guy who talks you through it iykyk😉)
Sarah is the pet sitter who moved in across the hallway and I have to admit it took some time to get used to her. She was quirky and at first I thought I’d be easily annoyed by it but in the end it made me love her more. She gets easily anxious and blurts out whatever comes in her mind. You never know what she’s gonna say next and she had me laughing out loud. She’s such a sweet girl and couldn’t help but charm literally everyone (even the grumpy doorman).
I loved them as a couple. It was definitely a story where opposites attracted and for the most part there was actual healthy conversation between the two characters! They were so flirty and lighthearted and it made me giggle and kick my feet. They started growing closer and I loved the mutual support.
The spice was super well done! I love a book with a virgin fmc (I know that’s not everyone’s thing) but I loved how easy and flirty and fun everything stayed during the spicy moments. There are explicit scenes, but they don’t overpower the book and help move it along. (So if you don’t like your books overly spicy, try it out!)
⭐ 5/5 🌶️ 2/5
I definitely enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read more from this author.
Thank you Love Notes PR and Jaqueline Snowe for this arc in return for an honest review!
ARC Review: • Rounding the Bases by Jaqueline Snowe • Thank you @jaquelinesnowe and @lovenotes.pr for this fiery baseball romance! This was such a fun read and tugged at my heart a whole bunch. I’m always rooting for characters to get their dream job and Sarah, the witty blue-haired sunshine, is working towards that. Then Brigham enters the chat and throws her in a whirlwind of unexpected feelings and a fling that lasts longer than they ever imagined. There’s nothing better than a reformed bad boy who changes for the sake of love. *Nathan Scott being my first playboy turned heart throb* 😍 • Review Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ • What to expect: 🧲 Opposites Attract 😇 Virgin Heroine ⚾️ Baseball Romance ☀️ Grumpy x Sunshine 🧡 Reformed Playboy 💞 Forced Proximity • What happens when a summer fling doesn’t end with the season?
4.5 Stars! Such a great sports romance, full of sweetness, steam and a dash of drama!
Sarah - following her dream to own a dog boarding business, she starts with dog-sitting for her first super rich client - for 3 months! Here she bumps into sexy sport-star Bingham, fortunately for him she isn't a sports fan, so is unaware of his past. As they start to hang out more and more, she can't help but feel the intense chemistry and attraction between them. What happens when the 3 months are over? And will she still feel the same way when his secrets are exposed?
Brigham - he used to be the ultimate party playboy, his days full of baseball and nights full of booze and women. That is until his most recent wild night out, which led to him being caught up in a drug and police scandal, despite his innocence. In order to do some damage control he's been forced to stop the partying and stay at home, or risk being kicked off the team. His life seems to be on a downward spiral until he meets petite and quirky blue haired dog-sitter of his neighbour. She's the complete opposite of his usual type, but maybe that's just what he needs right now. Will their newfound friendship lead to more? Or will Brigham go back to his old ways?
I love a good sports romance! The banter between Sarah and Brigham was just spot on. Plus the chemistry was so hot, it just burnt through the pages! Even though Brigham has a wild past, you can't help but fall in love with him, he's such a sweet and sexy package!
It was so close to being 5 stars for me, it was just the virgin heroine to playboy hero that wasn't my favourite aspect. I feel Sarah didn't really need to be a virgin. But I loved it all the same, and would definitely recommend. Can't wait to see what Jaqueline does next!
This is book three in The Out Of The Park Series and it is Sarah and Brigham's story. Sarah has always wanted to open a pet boarding business so when she is asked to look after two dogs and also live there for three months she sees this as a chance to do a good job and save money for her business and also show her criticising parents that she can do this herself without any help. Brigham is an outfielder for the Los Soles Baseball team and it is the one thing in his life that he really wanted but now his career is all on the line because of an arrest that went public but it had nothing to do with him but he couldn't prove it so now he has to do everything that he can to show them that he can be better and have a future with them as the alternative would completely destroy him. When Sarah and Brigham meet things don't go as planned but I love there conversations as Sarah is so quirky, sassy and says what she wants and Brigham loves that about her and he wants to get to know her as he realised that she doesn't know who he is. The more time that they spend together the more there feelings grow stronger but how will it all end and will they get a chance of a future together or is he just using her to get his place back on the team and to make his image look good. I absolutely loved this book and I couldn't put it down as I wanted to see what would happen next for them and I wasn't disappointed. Jaqueline Snowe is a brilliant author and writer and I definitely recommend you read this book and others by her and you will not be disappointed and I look forward to reading more of her books in the future.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Rounding the Bases is a baseball romance, opposites attract, grumpy x sunshine novel that I truly enjoyed! This review is on the re-released edition. I have not read the original so I'm unaware of possible changes. However, this was such a sweet & cute read!
Sarah Blue is our FMC, she's witty and charming. Sarah's going after her dream of owning her own pet sitting boutique. Sarah's on her way to meet a potential client who's proposed a three month dog sitting job. That will give her the opportunity to plan for her business. She meets Brigham Monaghan. Brigham is a baseball player with his reputation on the line after a series of unfortunate events leading to his arrest. The two of them find themselves living across the hall from each other. And soon the sparks begin to fly. But there's a lot on the line between Brigham repairing his image to secure his spot on the team. And Sarah working hard to archive her own dreams.
Everything about this read had me wanting to find out more about these two! The banter between Sarah & Brigham was perfect! And I loved the puppy cameos, this book really brought on the cute factor. But, it's not just limited to the sweet romance & cuteness of puppies and falling in love. There is still a lot of depth in the book. Especially, with the high stakes of Sarah working hard to own her business before her time dog sitting ends. We also have an ongoing storyline with the truth behind Brigham's PR disaster. The extra flair of drama really kept me intrigued my whole read.
Without spoiling anything, a favorite aspect of mine was Sarah's relationship with her parents. The whole storyline was impactful and the resolve was wonderful!
ARC REVIEW 5/5 stars, absolutely. First off, thank you to Jacqueline for this opportunity to read your book I really enjoyed this book!
This was my very first sports romance book and it did not disappoint. A hot-shot baseball player and a girl who loves animals (dogs specifically) is my kind of recipe for a perfect read! ⚾️ 🐶
Brigham (Brigs) is a pretty popular baseball player for Los Soles team. However, his reputation is on the line after an arrest that went public. Brigs ends up meeting Sarah Blue who is a hilariously unfiltered overthinking hot mess of a girl who has a dream of opening up her own dog boarding business.
One of the things I loved most about this book was how deeply I connected with Sarah and her anxious, overthinking “what if” spirals as she faced each obstacle. Her internal struggles felt so real and relatable. I also adored the mutual support between her and Brigs—his constant encouragement and her unwavering loyalty during his challenges made their bond feel truly authentic.
This fast-paced, strangers-to-lovers romance was such a fun ride. The witty banter and Sarah’s hilariously unfiltered thoughts—often spoken out loud at the worst (or best) possible moments—had me laughing out loud more times than I can count.
I really enjoy Jacqueline’s writing style—it’s engaging, easy to read, and had me constantly saying, ‘just one more chapter’ as I flew through the pages.
This book took me on an emotional rollercoaster, packed with unexpected plot twists that had me feeling everything from joy to frustration to heartbreak
If you love a good twist in a story and you’re into sports romance, this should definitely be your next read!
Overall, I really enjoyed reading this and it’s an easy ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ for this book!
Thanks to Jaqueline Snowe and Love Notes PR for the #gifted copy of this book.
Summary: This is an opposites attract baseball romance. There is a grumpy pro baseball player, MMC with his reputation on the line after a drunken mistake one night. On the other side, there's a sunshine FMC with a big dream of owning her own dog boarding business, and dog sitting for a few months in Brigham's building as one of the stepping stones to achieving that goal. What Sarah was not planning on was falling in love, especially since it was just supposed to be a fun summer fling.
My Thoughts: After reading Sliding Home, I was eager to get to Brigham's story because he was such a fun character and played a pivotal role in that one. It was harder to read him in this story, only because he was in a much different position with his reputation and career on the line. But Sarah was the perfect person to pull him out of his funk. She was such a fun ray of sunshine, even winning over the grumpy doorman with baked goods. I loved Sarah's heart for others, which made parts of this so hard to read, with her heart breaking. The ending was the perfect wrap-up to their story, and honestly, I wanted just a little bit more about their future. I truly loved reading about Sarah and Brigs' happily ever after.
Also, I was thrilled to receive little snippets from Michelle and Brooks (Bummy) from Sliding Home. I missed them, but it was fun to see Brooks helping Brigs through his tough season. This was a fun book for my baseball-loving heart... Hope you enjoy!

This book was a sweet and surprisingly emotional read, filled with heart, heat, and a whole lot of dog love. While it’s technically part of a series, it works well as a standalone—and the updated re-release makes it a great time to dive in.
Sarah and Brigham's story is both adorable and steamy. Sarah, with her big heart, awkward charm, and dreams of running a pet spa, was incredibly relatable—especially if you've ever had a soft spot for animals (or dog-sat as a teen like I did!). Brigham, the broody baseball star with a past he’s trying to outrun, was the perfect match for her. Their chemistry was strong, but what really stood out was how they grew individually and together.
I appreciated how the story touched on standing up for yourself—whether it was Sarah finding her voice with her judgmental parents or Brigham cutting out toxic people and taking control of his life. Their connection felt earned and believable, and I loved seeing Brigham soften and show his more vulnerable side.
That said, there were a few elements that kept this from being a full five stars. The central conflict—Brigham’s legal trouble—felt a little flimsy at times, and some lines were repeated a bit too often. Still, those small flaws didn’t take away from the fact that this was a fun and heartwarming read with an uplifting message.
If you’re into sports romance with a side of dog cuddles, a quirky heroine, and a reformed playboy who turns into a total softie, this one’s worth checking out. And now I can’t wait to circle back and read book one in the series!
ROUNDING THE BASES was a perfect sports romance! When Sarah Blue takes a job as a pet sitter for the summer in a swanky penthouse suite, she has no idea that the neighbor across the hall is the famous, incredibly hot, baseball player Brigham Monaghan. Sarah is at a crossroads in her life, dealing with disapproving parents and her uncertain future dreams of owning a dog lodging/grooming/adoption business. Brigham is dealing with bad press and a public image in need of repair. This unlikely couple make sparks fly as soon as they meet.
I loved this book so much. I haven't read the first two books in the series, but after reading ROUNDING THE BASES, I'm certainly adding them both to my TBR. Brigham is my new book boyfriend, and is So. Incredibly. Sweet. Sarah is quirky and adorable. I loved how honest Brigham and Sarah were with each other about their attraction. And there are PUPPIES! The friendships and side characters (like Fernie the doorman!) made for entertaining breaks from the romance, and there was a perfect, contemporary romance type plot alongside the growing relationship between Brigham and Sarah. Ms. Snowe knows how to bring on the heat, but with emotion, too, and the sex scenes were certainly steamy, but not gratuitous.
I thoroughly enjoyed ROUNDING THE BASES and I'll be adding Ms. Snowe to my list of one-click authors!

Sarah Bell Blue had dreams to start a pet-sitting and boarding business much to the chagrin of her parents. As luck would have it Sarah lands a three-month pet-sitting gig for two pampered pooches. It pays well and gives her a posh place to stay. Things get even better when she sees the next door neighbor. Brigham Monaghan is a baseball player on a 15 game suspension for alleged drug dealing and use. Wrong place, wrong time kind of situation. The two start an unlikely friendship and when their picture goes viral on social media, Brig’s snake of an agent plays up his association with Sarah. A misunderstanding could be the end of a relationship that has barley begun. Somewhere along the way, Sarah learns to stand up for herself, even with her disappointed parents. Sarah’s strength may just be Brig’s catalyst for reclaiming his own life and the love he has for her.
All the feels for this couple! Sarah was a breath of fresh air, unassuming and naive about a lot of things. Brig is enamored with her from the beginning and falls for her innocence and ignorance at who he is. Sarah’s charismatic personality even got the grump of the doorman to break a smile. She was definitely shine personified for those whose lives she touched.

There is so much goodness in Rounding the Bases by Jaqueline Snowe. Where do I start…? Rounding the Bases is Book 3 in the Out of the Park Series I enjoyed this book so much it had me picking up the first two books in this series.
Sarah Blue Bell it cute, witty and down right adorable. This heroine knows what she wants and strives to achieve her goals. Even with parent issues Sarah was in top of her game. Now all she had to do is decide what to do with the delicious sport baller across the hall.
Brigham Monaghan Is a outfielder for the Los Soles team, who has a bad reputation for being a drug user and a ladies man. Brig is out to clear his name, but it just might cost him more than he wants. Brigs smile is just Y.U.M ! I love it when he truly “Gets” Blue.
Brigham and Sarah gave a lot of great Melt, Swoon moments through out Running the Bases. Both have issues they need to work through, but in doing so they formed a friendship and possibly something more lasting? There are a few mishaps along the way.
Supporting characters are fun, helpful and interesting. The bonds of true friendships last a life time. As for Sarah’s parents I have a dislike/like feel towards them. Truly Author Jaqueline Snowe helped me like them. If you enjoy Sexy ball players, independent sexy women then Rounding the Bases is must have for your reading library.
Sarah had a vision of opening her own dog boarding business so it was like a dream when she was hired to watch two cute pups for 3 months. She was going to be moving into their ritzy penthouse and living across from a super hot mystery man.
Mystery man, Brigham, played baseball and was trying to save his image after some bad publicity. He needed to change his reputation from drunk party boy to dedicated baseball player and his agent thought Sarah was just the person he needed to help with that. She had an innocence about her that people would eat up.
Sarah and Brigham hit it off almost instantly and Brigham immediately knew he couldn’t use her for his image. He was super clear about that to his agent but word still got out about her and the rumors started spreading like wildfire. For Sarah, this was all working in her favor because Brigham believed in her dreams and supported them. She quickly had the money she needed to open a boarding business thanks to Brigham and his famous friends.
With her boyfriend’s image to save, parents that didn’t support her, and an heir of innocence that could be mistaken as naivety, would Sarah end up with the business of her dreams or lose it all?
I absolutely loved this book!! I mean, just LOOK AT THE COVER. The colors and illustrations had me wanting to read it immediately. This is a re-release that I highly recommend!
Upon reading this, I did not know that it was book 3 in a series. I am not sure if that made a difference in how it read as I have not read the first two books in the series but I didn't feel like jumping in to this one was hard to follow at all. I picked up this book because books and baseball are pretty much what I live by so I figured this story line would be right up my alley. However, it was just okay for me. I found the MMC and the FMC to be likeable enough but Sarah, the female main character, came off as very immature and her wording irritated me a little bit. For me, it made the romantic scenes somewhat cringey. I understood the play on words the author was using, but it seemed very juvenile. The story line was a good concept and overall it was well done but I just felt like the relationship between Brigham and Sarah left something to be desired. It was cute but kind of awkward. I don't know. It just felt odd. I enjoyed the overall conflict story line for Brigs and found it to be very realistic but the relationship part just didn't work for me. This was a quick easy read that you didn't have to think much about but so if you're looking for something simple, this isn't a bad read. Give it a try and let me know what you think. I'm always curious if I'm expecting too much or if it's fair to say it is just okay.

Thank you Love Notes PR and Jacqueline Snowe for the ARC (of the re-release) of Rounding the Bases 3.5/5 ⭐️ 2.5/5 🌶️ What to expect: 🧲 Opposites Attract 😇 Virgin Heroine ⚾️ Baseball Romance ☀️ Grumpy x Sunshine 🧡 Reformed Playboy 💞 Forced Proximity Sarah and Brigham are adorable together. The over the top, doesn't have a filter temporary dog sitter next door and the baseball star struggling with his life in the spotlight. She could not care less about who he is and he likes that he can be himself and not just a professional athlete with her. The banter between these two is 10/10 and definitely among my favorite I have come across in any story. Sarah and Brigs didn't understand how they ended up together, but they both ended up finding exactly what they needed in each other. Even if they were a bit confused at the start. I also really enjoyed the side characters and the dynamic between them and Sarah and Brigs. Definitely adding any of their stories to my TBR ASAP. Sometimes at the end of a review I like to include a few quotes that I highlighted, but this time there is only one and I have never felt more seen by an author/character than I did after reading this quote: "I could never wear aviators since I tend to wear sunglasses like a hair accessory and the little nose guards get stuck in my hair. It's a whole thing." - Sarah That quote has literally nothing to do with the overall plot, but from that moment on Sarah was a ride or die for me.
Thank you, LoveNotes PR, for the ARC of this book. I absolutely loved Sarah's character, she was witty, sassy, fun and full of joy and sunshine. She had so many good comebacks and witty comments. Her banter with Brigham was amazing, I loved it. Brigham was good, but his character was a little flat for me. I feel like as the book progressed, it became more about Brigham and his court case and battle, and all the fun elements Sarah brought in weren't as present at the end. He was a baseball superstar, but that wasn't talked about; he was famous and rich, but that had no depth to it. It was very focused on Sarah getting her business started and Brigham's court case. I did love the nickname 'Bluebell', it was sweet and fitted Sarah so well. I would have liked more on Sarah's relationship with her parents. You saw it was strained, and her mother said some awful things, but again no depth to it. I think the big saving grace for this book was Sarah's honest and sassy personality, and the connection and banter between Brigham and Sarah. It wasn't even a long book, but I feel like the first half was character-driven and the second half plot-driven; there wasn't that ebb and flow. This was my first time reading a sports romance in a while. I love sports romance, but this was more like he plays a sport and she has no clue or interest, so we don't talk about it. 3.5
