This book is a personal narrative of one adopted man's journey to find his birth parents. It is a fascinating step by step description of investigation and outcome alongside a continuing narrative of his own thoughts and reactions to situations as they occurred. My favorite relative he discovered was Rachel, a cousin on his father's side.
This book, while enjoyable in its own right, could serve as either a blueprint or a cautionary tale for someone in a similar situation.
I know the author and the angst he has gone through in searching for his roots. I am pleased he has a background of health issues with his bio relatives and can now tell his family history when he goes to the doctor. It is my hope to meet his bio mom and tell her its ok that she gave up her beautiful boy more than fifty years ago. That she has nothing to be ashamed of, only another son , daughter in law and 2 fabulous grandsons to get to know and his family who raised and adore this terrific man, Craig. Life is short Abby. This is 2021. Judging and marginalizing people is an old paradigm. I can't wait to run into her very soon.
