The dating apps, are out for, Daisy. Because, the last five single men have had no, manners or etiquette. She's done, with online dating along, with blind dates, for sure. She prefers a more organic, approach. She is taking, Toby a little boy she sits for, who has autism, to his mom, a nurse, who needed to pull, a double.
The thing is today's routine for, Toby is out of sorts. Daisy has a meeting, it's raining in Southern California, and it's bumper-to-bumper traffic. Causing it, to be an extremely long time, on the road. At six years old, for any child in a car seat, it's hard, but for one with a disability, it can be torture. So, when he lets out, a blood-curdling scream, Daisy naturally turns, to check.
The thing is, in that split second, at about five miles per hour, the person ahead of her, stops. She, of course, pulls over with the other driver, she retrieves all paperwork, to exchange, and gets out to soothe, Toby. Now, unless you have been around any children, you can’t begin to find empathy enough for Toby’s situation or Daisy's. Yah! Daisy.
A perfect example is the other driver, who gets out and comes, over. She is like a yapping, Chihuahua. Asking, Daisy, ‘What the hell is wrong, with him? Isn’t he too old, to have fits?’ and ‘What kind of mother, allows this?’ Daisy doesn't bother, to explain his disability, to her she is too, self-absorbed. When a gorgeous man, comes up behind her saying, ‘Tabitha! You may go back, into the car.’
It seems, he did not care, for the things, she said. He asks if she and, Toby are alright, and she says, yes. She hands over her info, to take pics of, she then gets in the back seat holding, Toby's hand, singing, ‘You are my sunshine.’ When he calms down, she introduces herself. Turns out his name, is Caleb.
She tells him she would really like, to talk to him more, but she needs to get, Toby to his mom before, an appointment. Guess who her appointment, is with? Yup! It is with, Caleb attorney at law. Her nan’s friend, Doris is having surgery, and asked, Daisy, to fill in for her, with Caleb.
Love this series, so much. These women are, ‘kick a$$’ and funny, as hell. I love how the author highlights disabilities, or illnesses, and shows how people, can live fulfilled lives. Not always easy, but really who has, it easy?
