Since a child, Brynley Brinks has been down on her luck. After being forced to live with her deceitful stepmother after her fathers untimely arrest, Brynley is no longer living life, she's simply just surviving. When things hit the fan and Brynley finds herself out on her own, she ends up in the presence of True. True Jameson is the epitome of young, black and paid. With the streets on lock and being known for his ruthless ways, he is the most feared in the city. Despite his cold-hearted nature, True finds himself having a soft spot for Brynley. The only problem is the one thing he may not be able to himself. After being taken out of the hood by her boyfriend, Ryla Turner had every intention on never looking back. However, when her younger brother gets into some trouble, Ryla finds herself having to work for the same type of people she looked down on. Despite where she came from, she's constantly critical of those around her but she's quickly humbled when she meets Justice. After recently being released from prison, Justice's main focus is his daughter. With an entire empire on his back, Justice has everything he could ever want in the palm of his hands. When he crosses paths with Ryla, he's instantly attracted to her, however his past and her judgemental ways may be too much for them both to handle. Will Brynley and True find solace in one another? Or will True's demons be too much for their relationship to bear? Will Justice and Ryla have the ultimate love story? Or will Justice be everything that Ryla judged him to be?
Every book just gets better and better. I’ve been following since the beginning and I love this author’s work. Never disappoints! I loved the storyline and the characters. True was everything. It was a really great story and i true didn’t want it to end
This was a great reimagining of Cinderella. I was so hurt for Brynley (great name by the way) Her stepmom was so evil for no reason. I’m so glad Brynley got out of that toxic situation and met True. Great story and plot.
Brynley was dealt a bad hand after her daddy was arrested to me I thought Nia had something to do with that because of her lack of concern and then to sell everything really had me wondering but True stepped in and saved the day
True was definitely protective of Brinley from the start..this was a page turner,I read this book in a few hours cause once u start u have to keep going too see wnt happens next..Justice was such a good dad to his day Hope even his baby mama was something else..they brothers knew how too treat a lady..I wish a PT2 was coming ,I wanted to see how Chance was going do Nia & her daughter for the way they him & his daughter.. U will definitely Enjoy this read ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is my first book from this writer. After going through a slump with a decent urban romance I stumbled upon this jewel. I loved it. Im def going to check out more from her.
First thing I really wanted Brylen to beat up Gabi and even Danni, this would have made this door much better but I can see how it wasn't necessary. B.B. bossed up her life without even doing much but being exactly who she was. She didn't have to belittle anyone, threaten anyone or give up the goods. She was just herself. Now with True being a real one he knew when he had a gem. He had his little hang up but it was warranted with what happened to him. He took her in no questions asked, got to know her and understood her while running things in the streets. Now I liked Ryla but she had her moments with that mouth of hers and I loved how Justice handled it. Every diss he laughed off and that made me like him even more. He knew what he brought to the table and didn't need her validation. She had to eat those words though and she apologized and took responsibility for what she said. How she loved Hope was really cute as well!!! Overall really good story!!!
This was a great story. I love how the characters didn’t just fall in love after an hour of knowing one another. They were able to take time and let it build up, even before they had sex and it felt a lot more real. Those instalove stories are getting super old so this was kind of a breath of fresh air. I had to take a star away because we didn’t really get to see the downfall of the stepmom and sister and that took away from the story for me just a tad bit. It’s nothing like seeing the reaction of the haters when the hated glow up. Also I really didn’t want justice to be with ryla she didn’t deserve him. Other than that I really enjoyed this book and I finished in a couple hours.
Wellll.... boring and blah! Not what I thought it was going to be.
First time reading this author and I was disappointed because this was re as ply lame, boring, and just blah! I had to skip so many areas that at one point I was even considering to change book but it ended finally so I was happy. Brinley was childish, gullible, stupid and weak as hell. What did she graduated from. Ryla was also childish but judgmental as hell. She really thought that she was better than anyone. True and Justice were truly one of a kind. They were the best part. I just couldn’t figure out who was older and who was younger but true acted as if he was older and Justice was just like a punk... Now I know I will not go back but I will see if I will give another chance
True and Justice are book bae for real. I loved their bond even though True was wrong for not considering BBs feelings more when she tried to come on to him. He didnt play when it came to her and his family. I loved how they cared for their women. Even though Rylya was on some bs at first. Glad that she got her attitude together and got a real one. Her ex should got her ass properly kicked for putting his hands on her when more than likely he was cheating on her anyway. What type of man take that many trips but never takes his lady. Nadia was a true rider would luv to read her story with her new bae. Hell I would like if this was a series. Couldn't put this book down.
I will day that I enjoyed this story, it was my first from this author but I will be read more for sure. The editing really needed to be improved at one point I had to reread to figure it out. The story is a good finding love with two brothers and ladies who become sisters. So much jealous and hate for others really was a the way poor BB had to live and that stepmother needed a hit...ugh the baby mother needs to be hit too from the way she treated Hope...ugh. The story starts off for page 1 and takes a bit of a dip in the middle but picked back up. Hea and goals accomplished.
This just didn’t give me what I thought it was gone give. This is a fairly new author and I can tell that by the writing style. The story could use a bit more thought into the scenes to make the story feel more real. I can read about a 24 year old drug deal that’s the richest and most fears in the city. But don’t play in my face. Ok the story starts off with a guy owing the money to his boss. So he ends up running to his sister house begging her for the money. Sister didn’t have. The guy wants to kill him and threatens her. She promised to pay them back or work it off but the Drug Boss brother who just got out of jail and lives next door to the sister promises to pay off her brothers debt and the drug boss just let it go. We never hear about the brother again in the story trying to help the sister pay his. Debt down or nothing. So now....just nevermind. I don’t even feel like it. 🤦🏾♀️
Omg this book was so amazing!!! I promise I didn’t want it to end. The way True and Justice loved their girls was everything. But the one thing I didn’t like was you didn’t say what happened to Nia and her raggly ass Daugther. I would have loved to read about what Chance done to them when he found out how they treated Brynley. Ohhhhh I was so waiting for that day he caught up with them raggly ass heffaz. That would’ve warmed my petty little heart to see them get what they deserved.
So this was the first time I have read a book by this author and it didn't disappoint. Brynley story took a turn for the worst a few pages into the book. Nia was awful to Brynley for no reason as soon as the money stopped rolling in. True was for the streets except for Brynley which surprised me. Now Justice came off sweet from the beginning but Nyla was working that man nerves. Brynley was so gullible so I understood every time True got upset with her. I'm not going to tell the book so I suggest you read it for yourself.
Fate stepped in right on times things always happen for a reason and once BB dad got locked up her step mother's true self came out despite everything they couldn't break her, and that night it so happen fate sent her a guardian angel someone they both needed but didn't realize until they found peace. True didn't understand what was going on but he couldn't fight it any longer and once they finally gave in everything worked out. Wish it would have told us what happened with the step mom, sister and her boyfriend and Riley brother but overall good short love story.
This Book Was Really Good. I'm Glad Brynley Got Away From Her Step Mother Nia And Her Lousy Step Sister Gabi And Ran Into True. I'm Glad Ryla And Justice Worked Things Out And Finally Made Things Official. The Chick Ariel...I Did Not See That One Comin. Brynley Reuniting With Her Dad Was Beautiful. Although They All Had A Hard Life And Made A Few Mistakes Along The Way...It Was Beautiful To See How Things Turned Out In The End. Great Book ❤❤❤
BB and True’s story was so sweet! I love how he protected her and checked anybody behind her. I’m glad that she finally got some happiness. Ryla got on my nerves in the beginning but I understood where her attitude was coming from. I’m glad that her and Justice got it right. I did not see that coming with Ariel!!! I would love to find out what happened with Chance and how he handles Nia! Maybe a wedding book...hint hint Great book!
This standalone was good from beginning to end. Enjoyed the storyline and these characters. True, was definitely a knight in shining armour, I so loved how her cared and protected Brynley. They were meant for each other and they saved each other. Justice and Ryla, were instantly attracted to each other and I loved them together as well. Only drawback, I wanted to know what and how Chance handled His, Gabi and Quan, but still a good read. Great job T.Alise.
I loved reading about True and Brynley. True was a real one and Brynley was so lucky that he was the one who found her that night. Brynley was young, but she had to grow up fast. Ryla was hard to like at first. She was judgmental and was basically a kept woman. She also had a lot of growing up to do. All storylines were wrapped up in the end, so there were no lingering questions for me.
I'm not much for reading about young, high school, love but this was decent. A few grammatical errors but it didn't detract from the story. Some of it was pretty predictable but I still liked the few twists that were sprinkled in the story. Some characters that were mentioned were never heard from again, and not in the way that you think. Overall a decent story. When a story can pull you in and have you feeling emotions...... that's darn good writing 😊
Yooooo this book gave me ERRRRTHING MY READING LIFE. This is A NEW TO ME AUTHOR AND I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED. This story is basically the hood Cinderella and I’m not mad at that. I think the character couples were equally yoked. The editing was on point and the storyline makes me want to see more of them. I can honestly say for the first time I’m mad this is story is not apart of the series.
I enjoyed the book with Justice and True! OMG, I was mad at Ryla in the beginning when she snubbed Justice like she was better than him. Everybody that was against Brylene should have got it. I wanted to know what happened to the stepmother, sister and her boyfriend also what happened to Anthony. I was definitely shocked about Ariel. All and all I enjoyed the book!!
Two brothers who fell in love with women who needed them. Justice lust after Rayla, but all she see is a drug dealer. Never judge a person without all the details. True runs into Brynley, literally. True doesn't think he is capable of love. Bryn!ey life is no longer what it was.
Just when you think you saving somebody the, they end up saving you. I just wanted to cry at the end of this story. But also want to know how he handle his sneaky wife and step daughter! And what was shady admit his court case? Could I get anther part on dads story? IJS
This was the first time I read from this author and I read plenty..this story was really good, the characters were portrayed well. It is a great story..I would certainly recommend..and I'm reading more of her stories based off of this book. 5 stars..
They were the cutest couple. I’m so glad she stumbled upon him. Mia was out of pocket trying to force that girl to sleep with that her daughter boyfriend. Eww. Then Justice and Ryla crazy selves. She was really stuck up but once she got humbled she starting acting right. 🤦🏾♀️. I loved how Hope took to her. The baby mom was dead wrong how she treated her baby.
If it's not nothing else Toddy gone do it's make you fall in love with her characters. True was everything to me and I loved the way he was with Brynley. As much as I lived Justice Ryla got on my nerves and I still don't like he got with her lol. That step mother and her daughter though Bry need to go hand both of them a beat down. Ariel was crazy
I can’t believe I’ve never had the chance to read this author’s work. Just know I’m coming back for more. BB was almost bent, but True didn’t let that happen. Anyone that even had that thought in their head better shake it loose. Ryla learned that dealing with Justice that you can’t judge a book by it’s cover.
I really enjoyed the way these couples came together and overcame all the BS. I would have liked to know how that broad Mia and her scandalous daughter Gabbi got handled cuz they screwed BB over and then almost stole her innocence. They needed just a lil bit of torture like living without a limb or something 🤣🤣
This book was very entertaining! It doesn't surprise me that. Nia was on some trifling mess after chance got arrested. I would have love to see what became of her and Gabbi they was jealous for no reason at all. True and justice was all that and then some they were definately men of their words. Great read
