Could Not Put Down!

I was totally consumed with this book! It has love, passion, family, diversity and real life experiences. This book has an amazing story line and the author does not miss a beat. I was able to get the back story and the current story! Well written and worth EVERY minute of the read. Please tell me this is a series, because I CANNOT wait for a second book!

Dei brought me interesting, intense characters with an exciting storyline that held me all the way through. And I got to learn a bit about Korean culture at the same time :)

Entertaining read.

Camille ran from her husband Seung-Ju years ago because her life was in danger from threats by outside forces. He finds her four years later with the purpose of obtaining a divorce, thinking she was paid to leave him, but of course when he sees her, he knows he just wants his wife back. In typical alpha male fashion he manipulates a situation with her company to get her to come to Korea for business and to finally get divorced. There, secrets are revealed, love is renewed, and true colors are shown.

Overall this was a pretty good book. The characters were interesting and the story kept my attention. While Seung-Ju frustrated the heck out of me with the way he didn’t believe and brushes off Camille’s concerns, I was still happy to see them get their HEA.

Everything was wrapped up nicely, although I would liked to have seen the h’s relationship with his mother in epilogue. How far had they come? Also, what happened to the family friend who was obsessed with the H?

All in all, I enjoyed the book. Worth checking out.

Overall I liked

Overall, I liked the book. I love the dynamics between the couple and how the husband's unwillingness to support his wife's concern drove the wedge between them. However, I think the book needs some more editing. There were parts that did not seem to tie together or stay consistent throughout the book (ex., the mother in laws past). Including the climax of the story with the son needs editing. It just seemed kind of like a kitchen sink moment. But the book is still good. It just could be better.

I liked The Chaebol's Wife enough to give four stars instead of three. Overall, I thought it was well written story with likable characters. In addition, I liked how knowledgeable Araujo is about Korean culture. That being said, The Chaebol's Wife is sometimes a bit repetitive and flat. Araujo should have woven flashbacks throughout the story, so that the reader could See what Camille went through during her marriage to Seung. Show me five strong scenes rather than telling me fifty times.

I have read both books by this author and I have to say this book is even better than the first one! I am an avid reader but this read was my first KDrama. I loved the suspense, drama, the character’s storylines and a glimpse into the Korean culture. Overall, the book was well written and I am looking forward to reading more from this author. There are definitely some other characters in this book that can have a storyline of their own.

So much action in one story. Seung-ju found his wife Camille again and he was determined not to let her go. He convinced/pressured her to return to Korea with him….not believing that her life was really in danger. Will their love survive, will he be able to keep her safe?

This is a good book with a powerful husband and a rich beautiful wife. This a beautiful interracial marriage couple, but not everyone is happy for them and wanted the marriage to end. And it's aspect in their four years apart, a little juju. And he is three and a half.

Wonderful suspenseful and romantic book! I was on my toes the entire time and once I got further in the book I didn't want to put it down! The author did a wonderful job with painting a picture with every scene. I really felt the love that the two main characters had for each other. I definitely recommend this book to everyone!

This is a thrilling 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 steamy, IR romance filled with drama, angst & suspense! Set some time aside to read this novel, because once you start it is hard to put down , even to attend to IRL responsibilities😆 This author is super talented, with a highly immersive writing style that has the characters jumping off the pages of the 📖. The epilogue was a chef's kiss😘 Enjoy🍷💃

Very much enjoyed this book. From the first chapter down to the epilogue. It was good. However, it had a few hiccups that left me disconnected.

1. Did the MIL get off scotch free? Because it sure seemed like she did. And it was very unbelievable that she suddenly “came around” in that scene while they were waiting in the hospital. No! That woman had some deeply rooted racist ideals. There’s no way she just suddenly comes around from that. And stop trying to explain away her racist behaviour away as classism. No! It was racism and one of the ugliest, if not THE ugliest I’ve ever seen in a novel. I HATED her.

2. Camille let off her husband too easily. She was quite weak to him too, but that’s not my focus right now. He literally never had her back. At. All. All that gaslighting and manipulation and … *gasp* emotional abuse (because yes, there was some emotional abuse here, and I still love this book, but I can point out the flaws). When he started apologising and she started crying and got her on knees to apologise, I was, “girl, if you don’t get up and let them man apologise” 😒

3. For someone as “sharp” as Seung-ju, it felt SUPER unrealistic that he wouldn’t question JuJu’s paternity. That was just super ridiculous to me. Especially with the timeline match up. This was kind of a lazy way of having the reveal be a bombshell in the climax, but it just felt lazy and dumbed down one of your supposed “smart” characters. Everyone else saw it the moment they looked at JuJu. Why didn’t Seung-ju?

4. There were some inconsistencies too that had me confused. When we first meet JuJu, “he has his father’s eyes” then further in the book, “he has Camille‘a eyes and features” to, I guess, make the audience think Seung-ju would really think nothing? Then near the climax when MIL saw JuJu, all of sudden, the eyes belonged to Seong-ju again. Huh????

5. We got an epilogue, but I would have liked to know how they handled the announcement at the banquet and what happened to Mae-Ri. If they turned in the transcripts to the police. What became of the MIL? How did the vote at IpCorp turn out? It just felt like these should have been tied up. Especially with a 5 year epilogue.

Don’t get me wrong. I loved the book and felt it was really good, but the inconsistencies annoyed me a bit.

I enjoyed the story. I enjoyed the characters. Even the antagonists. They were well written- to the point where I loathed them. So… job well done author. Fantastic book.

This was the most exhilarating love story, of late, that I have read. I loved the characters. This novel was a page turner from the beginning. Camille and Seung-ju were electrifying. The writer invites you to come along and live the 38 chapters with Camille as she resists the love of her life and then melts back into arms, while standing up to fierce prejudice and opposition. Love wins out with an adorable HEA….

Think of a raunchy Korean fairy tail Romance. It does have a lot of angst and push and pull between the wife and the husband. There is a conflict and no resolution until about the end of the book. There is a child involved and this is a happy ending. There is attempted murder by the male leads mother and by the female leads business partner. Overall this book was a little long for me I think they could have done it in 200 pages and been fine. I just got off of a six book series which I completed three in in about 4 days so I may be searching for that fill but it does have good content just a little too long.
