Welcome to space! Follow Lime, as he graduates from Mira Space Academy and becomes the newest crewmate on the Skeld. But strange things start happening all over the ship, and Lime and his friends have to figure out who the Imposter is. Kids will love reading this novel that follows the adventures of the crew of the Skeld spaceship as they try to find the alien that is sabotaging everything and threatening their plans. Fun illustrations, intrigue, and humor make this an instant hit for fan's of Among Us.
This is a fun backstory for the Among Us fan between the ages of 8-12. Lime is writing a diary that they received as a gift after graduation. Their first assignment is a crewmate on Skeld. The author gives a fun explanation for the crewmates’ suits and a reason for being referred to by their colors. Lime gets to shadow each crewmate on Skeld to learn the tasks that need to be done on the ship. In the process they discover that there is an imposter among them.
As a story, it is fun and creative. It is mostly pg, the crewmates do get injured by the imposter but there is never a dead body. The author does describe pools of blood around the injured body when it is discovered. There is violence in the form of the imposter stabbing with its tongue to wound the crewmates. I would describe this as a thriller for kids, and could be scary for younger readers or more sensitive kids.
As the one reading the story to my kid, this book is a tough read. There are grammatical and spelling errors galore. The pronouns are not consistent with the one given when the character is introduced. The writing feels rushed and is definitely not edited. The author has great potential but its hard to get past the editing issues.
This was terrible. I know it's just a kids' book, but even so, it was severely lacking in substance. It wasn't interesting at all and it was full of typos and grammatical errors. I don't want to be too harsh because I assume this was written by a child—which is awesome!—but reading this was a chore. Grade-schoolers who are die-hard Among Us fans might get a kick out of it, though, and it only takes about 20-30 minutes to read.
It was perfectly adequate with what it set out to do. And that is being a decent young reader for kids to be excited about reading. It stayed true to the game for the most part, slipping in some inside jokes here and there. Overall, a decent children's book. Nothing exceptional but I'm sure this would make a kid happy at a book fair. I know I always loved diary books as a kid. And one based on a popular video game would have been right up my alley.
This book was really great! I love how they used all the actual Among Us stuff in the book! Honestly, it is a really great suspense book! I sort of thought it was Red, but I also thought it was the Captain, because, y’know, if the author put the captain as the Imposter, nobody would guess it was him.
I hope you enjoy this book as much as I enjoyed writing it. Feel free to also leave a rating on Amazon as it helps us, independent authors. Happy reading!
it was bad, but i was expecting that. I am definitely not the target audience for the book but even then the writing was lazy and the illustrations where even lazier ( copy pasted images of the amkung us crewmates with poorly drawn Microsoft paint smiley faces). It was obvious it was made quickly to capitalize on the popularity of amoung us. But hey, I had fun reading it and if I was a little kid obsessed with amoung us I probably would have enjoyed it a lot.
