Many moons ago, a dynamic duo of romance authors teamed up under the pseudonym Max Monroe, and, well, the rest is history...
Max Monroe is the New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author of more than thirty contemporary romance titles. Favorite writing partners and long time friends, Max and Monroe strive to live and write all the fun, sexy swoon so often missing from their Facebook newsfeed. Sarcastic by nature, their two writing souls feel like they’ve found their other half. This is their most favorite adventure thus far.
I’m so over these scenes in books 🙄. I liked seeing the brothers’ perspectives and I do feel bad for Remy after being left the day of his wedding, but maybe he shouldn’t have had mostly naked strippers all around him days before his wedding 🤷🏻♀️- karma’s a bitch 💅💁🏻♀️. (Okay so his fiancé left him for other reasons- kind of stupid how it all happened- but she should’ve left him for having a stripper ruin his underwear and for being a weak @$$ and not telling his brothers no when he needed to🤷🏻♀️).
I’m glad I didn’t read this before The Bet- it would’ve ruined the book for me (although I do like the fortune teller scenes that I’m sure will intertwine with the other brothers’ books).
Blah 😑
⚠️safety squad⚠️ -strip club scene- OF COURSE the H can’t say no to his brothers and he HAS to have mostly naked women all over him 🙄. I’m sure it was supposed to be a funny scene when the stripper unbuckles his pants and ruins his underwear, but it wasn’t- tell that to my stomach 🤬 -is it cheating if a stripper rubs her boobs all over the H’s face???? And then proceeds to straddle his face after she rips her top off???🤬🤬 🔪 reliving it is getting me pissed all over again 🤬🔪
0 stars for this stupid a$$ not funny scene and 3 stars for the fortune teller stuff (and the fact that the h leaves the H👏🏻- yeah I’m freaking bitter!!! SUE ME!)
Alright y’all, @authormaxmonroe low key dropped this bomb of a free novella length ebook. If you’re familiar with the BAD series, and Winny Winslow’s book (Scoring the Billionaire) specifically then you know she’s the youngest of five siblings. And not just four siblings, but four rambunctious, over protective brothers: Remy, Flynn, Ty and Jude.
And y’all this lovely snippet and prequel is setting us up for quite the amazing series I think! I so hoped that these brothers (Remy specifically, because the angst around him in the StB alone was high) were going to get their turn at finding their own HEA.
Gotta Have Fate gives us a bit of a background into the Winslow brothers, their attitudes and personalities, sets up what each brothers book may or may not be about. You laugh, you’ll want to punch someone in the face (cough Charlotte cough) and you’ll just have the feels that leave you wanting what only a Max Monroe book can give you.
Keep an eye out! The Bet is coming in July and you can preorder it now!!
This was the perfect little prequel to the upcoming Winslow Brothers Series! Which is going to start with The Bet on July 17th! Gotta Have Fate was adorable, hilarious, a bit sad and heartbreaking... and now we can't wait to get started with those four guys!

This was an interesting little novella that captured my attention and made my very intrigued in terms of reading the full series. It was a little reminiscent in one of the aspects of Meghan Quinn's Port Snow series. (In no way do I think there is any copycat stuff happening, they just reminded me of each other, these things happen with books). Its been a long time since I've read a Max Monroe book that I enjoyed, so this was great to enjoy this and also make feel that I want to read more. The situation in this book is not the best thing, but it was the perfect way to create a lead in for the longer complete books of the series.
A prequel novella giving us a look at the Winslow Brothers, Remy is having his batchelor party with his 3 brothers Ty, Flynn and Jude. Their shenanigans take a turn when a fortune teller gives them all a reading and nothing good comes out! It was a fun, quick read with an unexpected outcome, I am interested to read more.
This isn't actually a novel. It is a prequel to an eventual romance series about four brothers. It is currently only offered free through the author and is not for sale.
Wow my heart breaks for Remy! What a fecking witch Charlotte turned out to be! I don't wanna spoil anything but know this, love true love comes before anything! And how she did what she did and when?!?!? Bloody h€|| what a cold hearted beyootch! The Winslow siblings are amazing! It'll be interesting seeing the fortune teller predictions come true or not. So far spot on as I've read Remy's story and Flynn's so far! I recommend reading in order so as to not spoil future reads. Character continuation!
Prequel to the series…what happens when your at your brothers bachelor party and go to a fortune teller who tells you all something you might not want to hear….
Loved reading the introduction to the Winslow brothers, each one has a different personality but they all have each other’s backs. The story is short but the interactions between the brothers were the best and now I can’t wait to dive in to their stories and see how they get their happy endings.
Holy crap. The nerve of Charlotte. The fact she didn’t even organize her own family to deal with the wedding being called off was terrible, such a horrible horrible person.

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads, so here is my review. This is a great novella, it is a fun, quick read, and about four brothers that are a whole lot of trouble. I could see these brothers doing all these things to each other, having a laugh at the expense of the others, and worried about the older brother when his world comes crashing down. I fell for these brothers and my heart broke for Remy. I need The Bet now. This is a first for me from this author duo and I can't wait for more.
I'm just going to put this out there right now - this is not what I'd normally consider a romance. Y'all know I think a romance should end with an HEA or an HFN, however, this is the prequel to Max Monroe's upcoming series on the Winslow brothers. Yes, those Winslow brothers. The brothers of Winnie Winslow, wife to Mavericks owner Wes Lancaster. Who we know from Scoring the Billionaire. Actually, this novella tells us the story of exactly what went down in the week before Remy and Charlotte's (who we know from Dr. Neuro) wedding that didn't happen: the danger of stilettos, the Taco Bell, the psychic... and just when it all went to hell. All this made me want was for the first book to be out. NOW. Even if it's not Remy's book. WANT.
They’re joyfully trying to celebrate one of the brother’s upcoming wedding and duck into a psychic’s shop for a reading that is meant to be a joke. She gives each brother their own reading and they are all deeply denying the things she’s predicting for them. She saw that the groom is going to go through great heartbreak and he’s upset and angry. Except the wedding is called off so now they have a very skeptical idea of what’s going to happen next.
This book gave me clues on which of the brothers I would click with and I confirmed it when I read their books. Remy and Flynn’s books were my favorite from this series.
glad i didn't read this until after starting the series. the banter between the siblings is what i've come to expect from max monroe and was absolutely hilarious but the way they behaved was not great.
Gotta Have Fate is the prequel novella to Max and Monroe's Winslow Brothers series and we get a glimpse of whats to come with the series ahead. It's Remy Winslow's bachelor party and if his younger brothers Jude and Ty have anything to do with it, it will be a night full of debauchery. "This is a fun escape from reality-a last hurrah with my brothers before my wedding day." However no one could have imagined they'd find themselves sat in front of a fortune teller. Of course Ty and Jude are ridiculously excited to have their fortunes told, Remy not so much, but Miss Cleo wasn't going to let him off of the hook that easily. "This is just for fun. It's inconsequential at best." Jude's fortune - "You my darling Jude, have a compulsion to feel the high of a wager." "There will come a time..." "No there will come a bet. One that will change the course of your life. One that will mold the shape of you as a man. Be careful, though, child. It won't be a period of easy choices. But if you handle it right, it could lead to a great deal of happiness for you and the ones you love." Flynn's fortune - "So practically minded, Flynn." "So sound of mind and judgement." "And I'm happy to report that, for the most part, you'll remain this way as far as I can see into the future. There will be a night, though. One wild, unexpected night in a seemingly predictable life where you, my sweet boy, will make a pact with a stranger from which there will be great consequence." "A significant agreement that will affect your family a great deal." Ty's fortune - "There's a kinship between you and Eve that is unmistakable, child." "The forbidden fruit will prove irresistible for you, my child, and I'm afraid you'll take more than a bite. The secret of this indiscretion will bring turmoil and pain." "The journey will be rife with unrest, but the end will bring you great joy and relief." Remy's fortune - "your story is the most complicated of them all." "You, Remington, my darling. I'm sorry to say, will experience great heartbreak." To say Remy is mad after his reading is an understatement, he's getting married next weekend, of course he's not going to have a great heartbreak. Fast forward to the day of the wedding and Miss Cleo was right, Remy is going through the worst pain imaginable and has left the rest of the Winslow brothers questioning whether their fortunes will come true now too. "Cleo wasn't wrong. Remington, you will experience great heartbreak, she said. And if this isn't the greatest heartbreak I've ever witnessed. I don't know what is. But if it's true...if this has anything to do with the prophecies she made... I can't even begin to imagine what's in store for the rest of us." So Miss Cleo was right about Remy's great heartbreak, was she right about everything else? Read the Winslow Brothers series to find out if Cleo was right about all of their futures! I loved Gotta Have Fate, it gripped me from the start and has left me wanting more of these lovable brothers and has set up the series perfectly.
For Jude: “There will come a time…” She pauses and then corrects herself. “No. There will come a bet. One that will change the course of your life. One that will mold the shape of you as a man. Be careful, though, child. It won’t be a period of easy choices. But if you handle it right, it could lead to a great deal of happiness for you and the ones you love.”
For Flynn: “And I’m happy to report that, for the most part, you’ll remain this way as far as I can see into the future. There will be a night, though. One wild, unexpected night in a seemingly predictable life where you, my sweet boy, will make a pact with a stranger from which there will be great consequence.”
For Ty: “Oh yes. The forbidden fruit will prove irresistible for you, my child, and I’m afraid you’ll take more than a bit. The secret of this indiscretion will bring turmoil and pain.” “Yeah...uh...that doesn’t sound so good, Cleo,” Ty adds, markedly less excited about having a whacked-out stranger tell him what to expect in the future. “Oh, but it is, child. The journey will be rife with unrest, but the end will bring you great joy and relief.”
For Remy: “You, Remington, my darling, I’m sorry to say, will experience great heartbreak.”
“What’s the rest of it?” “The rest of what, child?” Cloe asks, seemingly filled with sympathy. “The rest of the fortune, prophecy, whatever. What else do you see about Remy?” “There will be a chance for happiness,” she says. “A redo, so to speak. But he’ll never get there if he doesn’t learn to open up his heart.”
Who would’ve thought a fortune-teller would flip the Winslow brood on their heads. I guess I should just be thankful Rem-or anyone else-didn’t have forethought to ask Miss Cloe about our baby sister. Lord knows, if she would’ve dropped some horrible bomb about Winnie, Rem, being the uberprotective eldest brother that he is, would’ve literally gone Hulk Smash on that fortune-teller’s shop.
Cloe wasn’t wrong. Remington, you will experience great heartbreak, she’d said. And if this isn’t the greatest f****** heartbreak I’ve ever witnessed, I don’t know what is. But if it’s true...if this has anything to do with the prophecies she made… I can’t even begin to imagine what’s in store for the rest of us.
OMG! I can’t wait for this series. I need to know about Jude’s bet, Flynn’s wild night, Ty’s turmoil and pain. And of course, I need to know about how Remy will overcome this heartbreak. Will Charlotte come back? Will Marie come? Will it be another woman? I need answers. I need the books now. 5 stars.
This is just the start of a new series for Max Monroe and here we meet Winnie Winslow's (Billionaire Bad Boys Series) brothers.
This book outlines the events about fourteen years before the series takes place. This is the groundwork for their characters and the events that made them convinced to be bachelors forever.
Little did they know fate plans to step in and show them all how wrong they are.
A great tease and a fantastic way to get us ready for the Winslow Brothers. . . . It's Remy's bachelor party. As the oldest of the Winslow clan it's no surprise he's the first to get married and he couldn't be happier to walk down the isle. He may have been the stand-in father after their father left them and their mother but he wouldn't have had it any other way.
The boys have a wild night planned and it isn't at all what Remy wants. With Jude's idea to visit an out-of-the-way club from a friend none of his brothers trust, to get the strippers to blow his mind almost resulting in injury they think things can't get worse.
It's the fortune teller that Ty spots that actually knocks the night right off kilter. At first, it seems like all fun and games with even the series Flynn is willing to give it a try. When it's Remy's turn though he's slapped with a future he doesn't want and one that will make him miserable.
To turn it around the brothers regroup and things look like they'll end happily ever after, but on the day of the wedding, it seems like crazy Cleo the psychic might not have been far off with her prediction. While they gather around Remy to pick up the pieces Jude, Ty, and Flynn wonder how many of Cleo's other predictions are going to come true.
'But if it's true... if this has anything to dow with the prophecies she made... I can't even begin to imagine what's in store for the rest of us.
It introduces the Winslow Brothers: Remy, Flynn, Ty and Jude, and their younger sister Winnie. The story here plays out on the rambunctious night of Remy’s bachelor party and leading up to his wedding. The big question is if the ominous predictions of the fortune teller they visit will come true.
I haven’t read other books by these authors, but keep seeing them promoted and lauded on Kindle Unlimited. It says that this novella is a prequel leading up to stories about the individual brothers. I didn’t really love the style of this book. It seems to be very KU romance - raunchy and a bit shallow. (Some people love this.) But it’s an easy and fun read. The connection of the Winslow family seems to be very endearing. I loved Uncle Brad’s interactions.
It’s not a fabulous work of literature, but it’s not trying yo be that. So I’ll give it 4⭐️ for what it is - a quick intro into a loving family as they are about to navigate their own love stories.
