About the author

Cullen grew up in rural North Carolina, but now lives in the St. Louis area with his wife Cindy and his son Jackson. His noir/horror comic (and first collaboration with Brian Hurtt), The Damned, was published in 2007 by Oni Press. The follow-up, The Damned: Prodigal Sons, was released in 2008. In addition to The Sixth Gun, his current projects include Crooked Hills, a middle reader horror prose series from Evileye Books; The Tooth, an original graphic novel from Oni Press; and various work for Marvel and DC. Somewhere along the way, Cullen founded Undaunted Press and edited the critically acclaimed small press horror magazine, Whispers from the Shattered Forum.

All writers must pay their dues, and Cullen has worked various odd jobs, including Alien Autopsy Specialist, Rodeo Clown, Professional Wrestler Manager, and Sasquatch Wrangler.

And, yes, he has fought for his life against mountain lions and he did perform on stage as the World's Youngest Hypnotist. Buy him a drink sometime, and he'll tell you all about it.

I thought this was the last volume! Oh no now I have to wait for the next one! :(

This just gets better and better. This is one of the best comic series I've ever read.

In this volume we see the mantle passed over to the main heroine. She's badass in ways the men never imagined.

The guns have more secrets and there are even more evil spirits involved in the war of the six guns.

Will she change the world into her own image or will she let destiny take its own path??!!

More new characters and more solidifying of the main characters. Feels like this might be the end of the build-up. Still enjoying this series. It's very consistent.

Los primeros ciclos de El Sexto Revólver me parecieron uno de los más notables divertimentos y disfrutes comiqueros posibles. Con un envidiable arrojo imaginativo al guion y los lápices que invitaba a devorar sin muchas preguntas las páginas y aventuras que se iban sucediendo. Sí que el misterio en torno a las increíbles armas que desencadenaban la acción iba haciéndose más grande y enraizándose de formas más curiosas y ambiciosas. Y los personajes dejaban pronto de ser seguros arquetipos. Pero es con este 3º integral, que la epopeya weird western de Cullen Bunn se me presenta en esa gargantuesca escala que el autor seguro que buscaba desde sus escritos. Los personajes ya llevan un gran trecho recorrido como para que haya apreciado unos cambios internos que me implican más como lectore. La sucesión de increíbles encontronazos en este oeste místico y legendario alcanzan un punto mayúsculo cuando los misterios en torno al Sexto Revólver hagan acceder a Becky a un lugar fuera del Tiempo y el Espacio en donde atisbar retazos de pasados y futuros conocidos y desconocidos. Donde enfrentarse de verdad a lo que supone esta cruzada por los condenados revólveres. Volviendo a forzar al personaje y seguir erigiéndolo como uno de los grandes aciertos de la serie, en una envidiable construcción de un personaje femenino liberándose de toda cadena de tópico y convención no solo de su género específico de la ficción.

El Sexto Revólver es una de esas oportunidades de oro para que un guionista pueda generar sin contenciones en este medio exento de limitaciones de presupuestos o medios que no sean los de los artistas gráficos que se animen al proyecto. Y Brian Hurtt sigue cabalgando perfectamente la propuesta, pero el color de Bill Crabtree alcanza unas nuevas cotas de perfección a la par de los momentos más épicos y emocionales que se prestan en estos capítulos. Dejando con todas las ganas de continuar por estos inciertos senderos que amenazan con recibir un cambio total según quién reúna los seis revólveres y acceda a toda la capacidad de sus poderes.

This supernatural post-Civil War western just keeps getting better. And it started out top notch. The story, character development, and artwork continue to be some of the best ever created.

The artwork for the Gunslinger edition is fantastic! The story in this volume really stepped up and character development was dramatic. Really looking forward to the next arc.

So far this has been my favorite of the Sixth Gun since that first story arc. Both arcs in this book Winter Wolves and Ghost Dance are both pretty good. The lore continues to roll out in front of us however Cullen Bunn employs a narrative tool to remind the reader of the what the six do in each volume. I understand the importance of doing that if there was a lot of time in between reading the different story arcs. But since I am binge reading this series I find it kind of annoying. The first arc introduces the Wendigo and similar to the Thunderbird in the first arc of book one I really like these takes on the fantastical elements. Again some more flashbacks to give us some more character moments of characters we have lost or about to lose. Like the previous book new characters and factions are introduced. The Native American Tribes introduced here are both interesting but our heroes are I feel more fleshed out characters like Nidawi and Nahuel I want to know more about. Again like the previous two books the narrative remains constant even though I liked this more than the previous book its not by much.
