Lots of very good advice here. The only part I disagree with is the diet advice, which is based upon Mark Hyman’s ‘Pegan’ diet- a combination of Paleo and vegan eating. I think this is far too faddy and particular for the average person to adhere to, even for the average person who is interested in achieving optimum health. It is possible to adopt some of the recommendations, but I do think that having a bit of wholemeal bread or a potato now and again isn’t going to shorten my life significantly. However, if I have to live on lentils, kale and sweet potatoes, I might just die of boredom.
Otherwise, I would recommend this book, as it takes a holistic approach and has some good tips for incorporating healthy habits into your daily routine. Basically, we all know what we should be doing: exercise vigorously most days, don’t sit on your @ss too much, eat healthily, don’t drink too much alcohol, drink more water, be optimistic and helpful to others and try to mitigate stress.
