Anna Elliott is an author of historical fiction and fantasy. She enjoys stories about strong women, and loves exploring the multitude of ways women can find their unique strengths. She was delighted to lend a hand with the Sherlock & Lucy series, and thrilled to continue a new spin-off series featuring Becky and Flynn. Her first series, the Twilight of Avalon trilogy, is a retelling of the Trystan & Isolde legend. She wrote her second series, The Pride & Prejudice Chronicles , chiefly to satisfy her own curiosity about what might have happened to Elizabeth Bennet, Mr. Darcy, and all the other wonderful cast of characters after the official end of Jane Austen’s classic work.
Flynn is fast becoming one my favorite characters in the continuing saga of Sherlock Holmes and Lucy James. His intelligence and street savvy make him an interesting addition to the sleuthing team. Much of THE MISSING MARINER is told by Flynn who finds himself in most uncomfortable circumstances. His friendship with Becky Kelly, sister-in-law to Lucy James Kelly insures his continued appearance in the series.
THE MISSING MARINER is one of the shorter adventures, yet it is packed with all the things a Sherlock Holmes mystery should contain. Just how do a missing relative, a stolen painting, and abduction mesh to become a coherent whole? It takes the mind of Holmes, with a bit of help from the Baker Street regulars to answer that question.
This story could well stand on its own. However, I do suggest that starting with this, the 25th book in the series, would seriously deprive you of all the character development that comes with reading from book one (THE LAST MORIARTY). Each one stands as a worthy addition to the canonical tales of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
Another will written British 🏰 mystery family relationships adventure thriller short story by Anna Elliott and Charles Veley The Sherlock Holmes and Lucy James Mystery Series book twenty-five. Sherlock, Lucy, and Watson are hired to find the missing bother of a woman 🚺. It is all a lie. But a painting is stolen and two murders is the real mystery. I would recommend this series to anyone who reads mysteries and Sherlock Holmes fans. Enjoy the adventure of reading. 2022 👑👒😤
These short stories following the adventures of Sherlock and Lucy, Jack and Beccy, plus that little scamp Flynn are a delight to read. I find myself thinking I know the conclusion only to be surprised by what really happened. I can identify with Lestrade and the police force in thinking it was obvious all along once Sherlock and Lucy explained things. I never tire of being wrong or of reading the next adventure!
This is shorter than most in the series but still fun. It focuses mostly on Flynn who is a favorite character of mine. All the regular characters are involved. It has twists and turns to keep you guessing and as always the ending is a surprise. I look forward to reading more in the series
What an interesting start to Season 3. Holmes, Watson, and James need to solve an art theft and murder, and to find young Flynn, all at the same time.
I appreciate these short story formats because the action comes quick and the authors can explore several different topics and crimes, just like the 56 short stories in The Canon.
Holmes is approached Mrs Athena Spenlow to locate her missing brother Roland Stiles. Having not seen him for 20 years. Meanwhile he is asked by Lestrade to find the missing painting from the Hampton Court Castle and the killer of two of the wardens. An entertaining and well-written Holmes mystery with its likeable main characters.
