Kyle: Military Men of Valor Book 3 A Curvy Younger Woman and Alpha Military Man Insta-love Romance
Kyle While I was deployed, I was dumped. I guess she didn’t really love me or found a new man to take care of her. Being lonely wasn’t fun, but I wasn’t ready to seek out a new relationship. One day I realized I wanted a dog, a truly loyal companion. I searched the shelter for a pup, when I ran into her. A family friend I hadn’t seen since she was a girl. Now she is all woman.
Elena It was a busy life going to school full time and volunteering at the animal shelter. I hardly had time for myself, but I always loved taking care of the unadopted dogs. One puppy was my favorite, and I wish I could take him for myself. I considered him mine, until I saw Kyle walk in. He was built, handsome as ever, and looking for a companion. I knew he would bond with my favorite puppy. I didn’t expect, however, that he would take such an interest in me.
Short story telling a sweet & steamy insta-love romance with a curvy younger woman and an older alpha military man. Happily ever after! No cliffhangers! No cheating!
When Kyle’s deployment was extended another month, his fiancée Maria broke off their engagement. She was unwilling to wait yet again. Then he asked, “Is it another man?” and at the silence, he hung up the phone. He came home to his lonely apartment, but he couldn’t face falling for another woman and risking this kind of pain again. So he decided instead to get a dog, a friend he can count on.
At the shelter, Kyle looked around to find the right pet for him. He heard someone call to him and saw Elena smiling at him. He knew her from high school. She was a volunteer worker at the shelter and was studying to be a veterinarian. She already had a dog in mind for him, but she showed him several to give him choices. Rocky was a dog she would have chosen for herself, but she couldn’t have a dog right now with her busy schedule. Rocky and Kyle hit it off immediately, and Kyle asked for Elena’s number so he could keep in touch about how Rocky was doing. Two weeks later, Elena texted him to invite Rocky and Kyle to the dog park since she was off that day.
These two were so awkward with one another. Each seemed interested in the other, yet hesitant as well. And their dialog was very repetitious. Texting over two weeks, they still talked incessantly about Rocky bringing them together and thanks for recommending him. It felt more like two teenagers getting to know each other rather than adults, and again, lots of repetition. Yet neither pushed hard enough to ask questions about the uneasiness they felt at not being confident in each other. Then his ex-fiancée Maria sent him a text and wants to talk…
I think that, despite the shortness of the story, it dragged way too much, circling back again and again on the same dialog and information already shared with the reader. And why Kyle even thought he had to talk face-to-face with Maria again after what she did, I can’t figure out. He expected an apology, but that didn’t warrant a meeting at the coffee shop. He went home and pulled out a box of pictures of Maria, acknowledged she had been in his head for too long, but still could not throw them away! When Rocky grabbed hold and the pictures ripped in half, Kyle was almost angry at him. Then he figured Rocky was right (and this story was getting more and more unrealistic). At this point, I no longer cared if he “got the girl” (either of them) or not. The filler all through the story line just wore out my patience.
After Kyle's fiancée broke up with him, he decided that a dog would be what he needed. At the shelter, Kyle runs in to a old friend, Elena. The connection and pull between them is strong, but Kyle is still hesitant and struggled with his feelings. Needing time to sort through things, Elena gives Kyle time, in which he meets up with Maria (not a fan). In that meeting it gives Kyle just what he needs to move on with his life.
This series are unique romances, the struggle and pain the character's navigate through hit the mark on so many levels. Kyle feeling not only with a new relationship, but also the old is something that most of of us can relate to . Elena wanting to help but knowing she should step back is an amazing quality in her character.
Great series and keeps getting better.

I enjoyed this story it was a bit of a heart-wrenching story. From the start, we see that Kyle is going to have some issues when he gets out of the military. He just needs a companion and gets a dog. But then he meets up with a long-lost friend. These two hit it off and then there are things that are going on with both of them that come between them. With everything that is happening, will they be able to move past these issues?

When his developments ends, he gets a dog where he meets his childhood friend, Elena. They hit it off but it takes Kyle time to come to terms with his feelings before they can start a relationship. I liked what Kyle did for work after getting out of service.
Found this difficult to get through. Characters lacked depth and dialogue was uncomfortable to read and not realistic. It just left me cringing throughout. Could be a result of novella - maybe a novel would read better.

An amazing second chance book three in the Military Men of Valor series! It is engaging, relatable, emotionally deep, funny, witty, and well written. The characters you will love and root for; the chemistry between them is undeniable and off the charts. Definitely recommended!

This short story was a light and enjoyable read. The characters were likable even though Kyle was confused and who could blame him when your fiancée broke up with you over the phone while deployed.
An enjoyable third book in this Military Men of Valor series. The story flows well, the charcters are likeable and they fit well together. A enjoyable read.
