the life of a combat marine in Vietnam,

What a great story of a bad ass Marine! The nation called and he answered and he served honorably. Always looking out for the young inexperienced guys in his unit. His marriage, his wife and family, suffered as a result of his service, but, he continued to work for a better life. His story illuminates what it was like to be a “ mud marine “ and I salute him and the thousands of other Vietnam veterans like him. I highly recommend this book and my wish for him and all other vets is to stay healthy and sober. Welcome home and Odaat.

Good book with a surprise ending.

Good book written by a little marine sent to mnam where his heart and bravery quota
Good book about a s!a

Good book about a small-sized marine with a big heart and a bravery level that went off the charts. As a Navy corpsman during the Vietnam war era this was the kind of guy I would have liked befriending had I been sent to the nam.

Not worth it

Written in third person leaves a lot to be desired. I believe this book would be much more desirable and believable written in first person. There is far too much jumping around in the narrative
The ending drags on for far too long. There are far many more books that tell about this war than this book does.

Welcome Home Marine!

This is an honest reprisal of or marine's service in Viet Nam. I hope many other Vets read this and are motivated to seek the assistance needed to thrive and enjoy their lives despite what our government has done TO them.

All gave some...some gave all! God bless our Vets! SEMPER FI!

Good Read

A good read, honest, down and dirty. As a former Marine I know how the BS can get you down. Thank you for your service and keep driving on your recovery, you are worth it. Semper Fi!

Style of writing

Just not very well written. Some good stories but could have been told much better. Hard to really get into the stories.
