With a dad who made it big, his scheming bit*h of a concubine and a mother who is a pushover, Yan Yan’s life was bound to be rough. No matter. In her opinion, absolute strength could overcome any number of schemes in household struggles. As she became used to acting fierce, everyone feared her as though she were a wolf or tiger. She thought no one would want to marry her, but someone by her side actually said he had deeply rooted feelings for her.
Come, come, little fatty Luo, tell this lady how many years ago you’ve had these deeply rooted feelings for me.
Little fatty Luo: T.T…I won’t tell you that it was in my past life, even if you beat me to death!
Due to various reasons, Luo Huai Yuan only had the dirty thoughts but not the courage in his past life, and missed out on his consort. After reincarnating, he is determined to treat her like a treasure. He won’t fight back when beaten. He won’t yell back when scolded. He also wants to have her give birth to a bunch of fat little children for him…
definitely better than the other novel in its shared universe (i got about thirty chapters further), but suffers from similar plotting issues. the overt nationalism that comes more and more to the forefront later on is particularly grating.
the couple in this should technically be more endearing than the couple of the other book. the heroine is straight-forward and belligerent, while the leading man is chubby and avaricious. not traits you’d normally associate with the main couple of a romance. unfortunately the chemistry never really happens (kaomojis do not a love story make).
the best part of this book is definitely the schemes that are always occurring in the ‘rear house,’ or the vicious politics between the principal wife, the concubines, the mother-in-law, and assorted sister-in-laws. it starts out black-and-white, but as the chapters go on a lot of nuance is given to each character, and you find yourself rooting for people you were averse to twenty chapters ago. and the highs and lows relating to this set of characters is the most satisfying.
First of all, this author likes to have so many names/characters and unnecessary detail. At time, i really cant rmb who is who and need to pause to think.
Secondly, because this share the same universe with her other novel, the 20 last chapter (or was it 15? Not sure) have a lot of the same words as in her previous novel. Sometimes, she summarise it but still it's there. So, imo, you dont really need to read the first one before you read this one.
Thirdly, YO I WANT THE DADDY AND HIS SUGAR DADDY'S STORY. make them transmigrated to modern world please!! CEO XU!!!
The ML is reincarnated with the purpose of winning over his former wife MC. He aids his wife with her family troubles and manages to survive as a fatty dumb prince. I think there was too much stress on the MC "not being like other girls" and the reincarnated ML obsessing over a little girl was disturbing (at least the ML and the author acknowledged that and made it a point to say it wasn't a lustful interest). Overall it's a good read, the plot and the characters are well-developed and the ML is quite comical.
it's now 4/3/24... I wanted to like this more than I did; wavering between 2-3 stars... but I guess I loved FL's maternal family, even though her mom was a POS for so goddamn long. [Also the author ... overly loving her m/m storyline which was ... yo... cuz it was premised on rape and shit] ANYWAY. I ... couldn't get a grasp on ML like he was FAT fat like legit round - but not written so other than when author wanted him to be so it just ... I dunno. Also like ... all the creepy sex... Yeah ok I've convinced myself to drop it to 2 stars. I get ML was an adult and rebirthed but still - so ... goddamn creepy. ugh. *cringe*
All the "sweet" stuff was ruined by how gross he was. I think I mentioned below he got a big pass on so many things cuz "ha - ha it's not creepy it's just funny cuz he's fat" which ... dude. No. This author is ... definitely different.
Ugh. D++?

C4 I am STRESSED and HEATED. With a stupid POS mom like that who needs enemies. 😒😡 also where is the grandfather 😡
C52 I still think concubine Pei got off way too easy but 10 yo FL is a badass ❤️💯
C88 lol FL’s showing at the chrysanthemum banquet is 💯💯💯💯💯
C94-95 that wolf shit was so incredibly stupid and unrealistic. Literally it would’ve been more realistic if it was a group of monkeys. And ML was so goddamn useless doesn’t he know martial arts too? And how the fuck did he have a gun or whatever. Whatever. So stupid. 🙄😒 the author kept forgetting Yan Mo too 🙄
C96 uh wouldn’t the fucking winners of day one be FL and her group who killed 30+ wolves not shitty prince 3? 😒 stupid author 🙄😒🔪
C100 I was literally :x that Xu heir (noble consort Xu’s brother) raped FL’s dad 🤷🏻♀️ took him years to get it…
C129 damn is it her dad trying to kill her mom 😱😡
C136 AN spoilers - I knew scum dad didn’t die 😡
C138 I know there shitty grandma wasn’t living well at the very end but it still feels like she tortured everyone else even more. Yun 3rd brother is (also) a stupid fuck who needs to suffer. Too much time devoted to those assholes. Glad ML & FL are now in their Yun vassal state.
C149(148?) I feel insane. ML is minting coin like NBD & the authorities (well Shen family) knows and it’s fine? I can’t imagine this is legal in a country where it’s illegal to fucking kill a cow. And them not having a new year banquet AT ALL? Just… him being gone SIX MONTHS and nobody noticed? Dude. The plot wallpaper is rice paper thin.
I stalled on c152 & didn’t read for most of 3/19 (not at all during the day) - feels like the author really didn’t plan shit out & just meandered/threw in the kitchen sink by now 🙄😒
Skimmed c155; do not give a shit about pirates. Also 🙄 of course they find out FL is pregnant as soon as ML leaves again. Don’t love the speculating re: currency either.
