When Seonaid disappears only hours before their wedding, he can tell this is more than a rebellious reaction. And his worst enemy’s sword found in the crime scene ascertains all his fears.
Now Eoin and Seonaid are interwoven in a dangerous web of lies and deception. What started as a childish game might end in tragedy…
Fiona Faris is an American author of authentic historical Medieval & Scottish romance books. She started writing historical highlander romance after she visited the Scottish Highlands years ago with her husband.
Her books have received startling reviews about the humor, the darkness and the romance they have.
She lives in Dallas, Texas with her husband and their two sons. Before she started writing romance, she experienced the various occupations: translator, dog-training, and a substitute English teacher for the most part of her life... However, nothing could ever compare to writing stories depicting the majestic and mysterious Scottish Highlands!
This book rocks! A wonderful story full of love, friendship, loss, danger and deceit, it is a tale worth reading! Seonaid and Eion will struggle through their journey of finding love. A whole lot of danger will fall in their path as Seonaid will lose someone close to her and Eion will be faced with the betrayal of someone close to him. Her brother will return home to take his place in his clan and he will be needed to help Eion defend his lands from a rival whom Eion has had trouble with for years. The battle will be fierce and a truth about Eion’s father will be revealed that will shock him to his core. Eion will end up pushing Seonaid away, convinced she has no faith in him and he doesn’t wish to trap her. The separation will be devastating for them both, but he will come to his senses in time, and will be reunited with his one true love.
I read an ARC copy of this book and am volunteering my honest review.
Gripping and Suspenseful! I thoroughly enjoy when a book grabs you right from the start and keeps you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what will happens next as in God Save the Highlander. Fiona Faris has written a action-packed story from beginning to end with threads of intrigue, danger, violence and with heartstopping and jaw dropping events. The scenes are so strikingly detailed it paints an incredible backdrop that makes you feel like you are one with the story. The road traveled down by Seonaid and Eoin was fraught with danger as they journey on a rollercoaster ride full of suspenseful-twist and turns, sensual passion, into the majestic Highlands. The story unfolds beautifully with drama, fear, angst, trials and tribulations with an evil villain's obsessions for revenge swirling Seonaid and Eoin down into a vortex of duplicity, kidnapping and heartache. The Extended Epilogue rounds out the story very well.
Finding Love Wasn't Easy: The cover was nice to look at especially him🔥 This is a long story that had so many things going on along with interesting characters. The plot was easy and kind of typical with unwanted betrothal. It read like a roller coaster with it's many emotional up's, downs, twist, an turns. To me it read more like a Regency story. I just didn't get the highland feel. You could feel the smoldering attraction between the H and h. The kissing was also smoldering , but I would like to have had a little more charismatic sizzle in the intimacy parts. Story was thrilling with a kidnapping. rescues, battles, a bad villain, brotherly friendship that kind of left me thinking we might read about Jamie in another book? Mature reader: ✔ Intimacy before marriage: ✔ Heat rating: 1+ out of 5
Intrigue , different emotions , kidnapping and much more its just wonderful
This book really kept my attention. Its so fun to read the story of how a woman who did not want to marry and a man who did not want to marry ended up wanting to do just that. They are both strong characters and face kidnapping, betrayal, murder , and war together .And, then family must be faced. I really hope you read this book!!
This is the story of Lady Seonaid of Urquhart and Laird Eoin MacBain. Seonaid’s father betrothed her to Eoin whom she had loved since she was a young woman when he had spurned her. Begging and pleading with her father she didn’t want to marry the womanizing man but fate had a different idea. Could she overcome her feelings and become his bride or would someone else who hated Eoin come between them? A page turner to the end!

I had a very hard time reading this story. It's riddled with errors- missing punctuation, lower case when it should be capital, entire words missing from sentences. It was also incredibly long-winded. There was simply too much extra prose that had nothing to do with anything between every piece of dialogue. I ended up skimming to the end so I could find out what happened, and even that was anticlimactic.
An adventurous storyline with plenty of action, unexpected twists and turns, kidnapping, murder, villains, and so much more to be found within its pages! The characters had depth to them with a possible glimpse into the plot for a future book involving one of the secondary characters which would be very nice indeed. Definitely a book that a reader can sink their teeth into while they get to experience the wilds of Medieval Scotland and the brave, courageous men and women to be found there!
As your usual,Story was exceptional and your characters where well matched and strong in nature. The entire story kept wanting to go on reading until the end, never a dull moment in it.Well done Fiona. And the Extended Epilogue was a great finish to this story.Look forward to your next book.
Great historical romance with a hero and heroine who have several preconceived ideas about the other person. There are several twist in the plot that made the story more interesting to me. I felt that there were several hangers that could lead to another book, but the story is not reliant on another book.
Some men are stupid! Learning about how to treat women from his useless father, Laird MacBook has a long line of women from his past making his future bride, not to happy. I enjoyed watching these two through their relationship and trials as they learn about themselves and each other. Another winner from Fiona!
This story was chock full of suspense, treachery and strong emotions. Seonaid has been promised in marriage by her father to a man that is a known womanizer. She tries to get her father to cancel the betrothal, but he won’t hear of it, her intended also refuses. The next thing she knows is that she has been abducted.
Wow what a story. There is a lot of personal history in the key players. The Laird with his past history of woman and she not wanting to marry a man like that. An evil enemy shows up to try and ruin things and a loyal man at arms declares news that shocks the Laird. Excellent read
Great story with enough twists and turns to keep you reading till the end. Can Seonaid trust Eoin? Will Eoin be able to rescue Seonaid in time? Can they overcome their past differences and reach for a future together? This was a really gook read and I highly recommend it.
God Save the Highlander: Scottish Medieval Highlander Romance by Fiona Faris I just enjoy all the suspense, one minute you think is one thing and turns out to be another. The story captures you from the beginning. I would recommend this book
Fiona has outdone herself once again! These characters are fantastic. Love their verbal sparing. Their strong personalities. This story kept me on the edge of my seat until the final page.
I loved this book; it lacks for nothing. From the very first page I was engrossed and was kept so clear to the end. There was heartbreak, heartache, deception, rivalry, misunderstanding, reconciliation, and of course romance. It has it all. A definite must read.
I enjoyed this story, the plot is great as was the surprise that was revealed also great characters both main and supporting. Again I enjoyed the read hope we get to have a Jamie story and not leave us hanging !!! Just say 🤗🤗🤗🤗
God save the Highlander is Seonaid and Eoin's story of being betrothed and learning to accept and love each other Fiona wrote a great HOT scene in the extended epilogue
Another great novel by Fiona Faris. This book had Highland adventure and excitement. The characters were interesting and likable. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel.
