This book is chock full of color photographs and beautifully rendered colored-pencil sketches of the native life of the Galapagos islands, with an emphasis on birdlife. Accompanying the drawings are hundreds of pages of fascinating notes on bird behavior. It is the closest you can get to a guided tour of the Galapagos by a master ornithologist without actually going there.
