Susan’s childhood dreams of becoming a space explorer fizzled when she found out calculus was involved. Luckily, she didn’t need math skills to fly jets--or to create sky-high stories in her head, first for herself, then for friends, and now for readers everywhere.
A New York Times/USA Today bestselling author and a military veteran, Susan won the prestigious RITA® Award for her book Contact, a sci-fi aviation-thriller romance.
Our H has issues - he was previously matched as a teen, but before he could meet the girl, the ship transporting her and his mother was attacked by the Drakken. His dad didn’t take it any better than he did and it caused an estrangement.
Our h has issues - her parents were aid workers who died in a crash. She’s not afraid of flying per se, but she’s an intelligence officer because she’s never been able to make herself fly. She has not yet submitted her DNA to the program because of this. She has submitted it to the intergalactic dating agency.
We have the whole “Hot for Teacher” thing going on. We have discussions on how to teach her to fly…we have a secret relationship. We have a surprise match, because they allowed the dating agency to submit clients’ DNA…and we have reconciliation.
Falcon is the second book in this new series but with no third on the horizon. He’s younger than Hawk and it shows. “I surrender, Lieutenant Wilson. You win. Take me prisoner… of your love.”
Dee, about 26 which seems young for her job tbh, wants to be matched with him almost immediately but she’s afraid of flying. Not for want of trying - she’s been through ground school three times.
Errors: “…your paperwork is wending its way…” — winding “We’ll wend our way to the rock.” — wind
Probably the best part of this book was the scene at the retirement villa. I just loved that.
This was a happy story with nothing to get in the way of that. Well written and told. Wish the third book were available.
This was a really quick, fun, steamy story. Dee is afraid to fly but she's signed up at the Galactic TopGun school for Sky Mates. Dee will do whatever it takes to enter the Sky Mates program and be matched with a loving mate. She enlists the help of a huge alien warrior, Sky Warrior Falcon. Falcon is intrigued with Dee but he has to find out her secret on why she is avoiding him. An empathetic touch from Dee triggers synergy and Falcon knows that she is his. Falcon was very determined and sweet. Enjoyed this story. I received an ARC copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Sky Warrior Faulker "Falcon" is one of the warriors chosen to come to Earth to participate in a program named Project Sky Mates. The incredible Dragon warships of their people were eons old, the legacy of a mysterious, more technologically advanced past. Dragons required two pilots to fly them, a bonded pair perfectly matched to handle that flight—Sky Mates. But matches had become rare, which was why this program was so important to them. This program is their attempt to find ideal mates among Earth pilots who will have the qualities the aliens need so they can work alongside the warriors’ on their missions. And the pairing is for life.
Falcon has felt himself strongly drawn toward Intelligence Officer Lieutenant Dee "Rainbow" Wilson since he first met her. Dee likewise has an intense attraction to Falcon, but her dread of flying has kept her out of the Sky Mates program where she would have a chance to be matched with one of the warriors.
When Dee touches Falcon, her empathic touch triggers synergy which tells Falcon that Dee is his. She must get over her fear of flying, and he swaps places with the instructor she hired for flight lessons. She is terrified of the Sky Mates program because Sky Mates are required to fly with their Sky Warrior. Can he find a way to get her over her fears? Can she feel that the two of them are meant to be together?
This is such a sweet alien warrior romance with an intriguing story line and amazing characters. I really love this series. Despite her fears, Dee kept trying; and Falcon was willing to do whatever was needed to help her so that she could be his. This is my absolute favorite series and I know readers will absolutely love it!
A Totally riveting read, thoroughly enjoyed every moment This has been a wonderful read I loved the main characters Dee and Falcon and I found the plot to be so well written that once I started, I just could not put the book down until IO reached the very last page.
Falcon has his own theory about how sky mates may actually appear to their mates and he believes that when he sees the Terran women he will be able to instantly know which one of them is his mate, but can they recognise their mates in the same manner.
Dee has not sent in DNA and so she is not really taking the whole thing that seriously but when it actually starts to come down to the crunch, she stars to fee drawn to one of the males even though she is not sure what the attraction is. Could it actually be that humans also may have their own instincts regarding their Sky Mates.
Read this wonderful book and discover the fact all for yourself. voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.
Sky Warrior Falcon comes from an illustrious family and has never had to exert any effort in order to get female attention. So why won’t Intelligence Officer Lieutenant Dee give him the time of day?
Well, why should everything be easy for him? Falcon decides to go after Dee with the same dedication that he used to become a Sky Warrior. So he stalks her to an off-base airfield where Dee is supposed to be getting her first flight lesson. He finds her sitting in the cockpit in tears. Dee is afraid of flying. She has not submitted her DNA to the Sky Mates program because Sky Mates have to fly with their Sky Warrior.
Falcon is so sweet and gentle with Dee. He doesn’t mock her fears. He decides HE will be her flight instructor! Falcon takes her out to dinner, and one thing leads to another….but that would take away the suspense!
Pick up your copy quick, and treat yourself to the love story of the gentle giant Falcon and the very careful Dee who wants to spread her wings. You will love it!

Dee "Rainbow" Wilson's fear of flying is a top secret al Earth's Top Gun flight program. She's tried, but can only bear to sit for a few minutes in a cockpit - on the ground. She relishes here role as instructor and Intelligence Officer at Top Gun, and uses her formidable intellect instruct and challenge the new Sky's End flyers. One such flyer, Falcon, is the once-nearly mated disappointment of his father and all Sky's End. Now on Earth as part of Operation Sky Mates, he's duty bound to find and accept a match, and return home "synched" body, mind and soul, to his forever Sky Mate. The matching algorithm used by his people has been most unsuccessful to date, but there's hope... Biology may not be destiny, but it seems to have seized the reins in the Sky Mates program - Dee and Falcon "sync" before they match! Before Dee receives the neural implants to allow complete bonding! But she can't fly, and he can't live without it. No hints on how, but rest assured, HEA looms gloriously close for this matched pair, and Susan Grant's sparkling, tender, and hot story is a treat and a thrill ride - fasten your seatbelt and hang on!
Susan Grant has a way of presenting her stories that is fun and refreshing. She really is passionate about flying and it is reflected in her aviator characters (from Earth and other planets). I highly recommend reading Hawk (book 1 in this series) before this and probably the Otherworldly Men and Borderlands series (although only Warleader is available at the moment) will make the background of this story make more sense. Definitely felt most like a follow-up to Hawk as much of the story reiterates the time, setting and multiple scenarios that have occurred and only covers another few weeks with this new couple. Great to get an explanation as to why in all the universe, Sky Mates happen to be two people within this TopGun flight school training program as it seems much too coincidental. Looking forward to more, particularly Garokk, from this author as I have read most of her books already!
Sky Warrior Faulker "Falcon" has been drawn to Intelligence Officer Lieutenant Dee "Rainbow" Wilson, one of his instructors since he met her. Dee has a strong attraction to the charming Falcon. Her fear of flying has kept her out of the Sky Mates program. She did brave the IDA, none of the Collision men she was matched to were the one for her. An empathetic touch from Dee, triggers synergy, and Falcon knows she is his. He just needs to convince her. Helping her overcome her flying fear is his first mission in Operation Synergy. A sweet and a little steamy, military alien romance. A nice year later ending. Can't wait for Ellfen and Garokk, and the rest of Hawks small teams stories.
Once again I enjoyed/loved this book/story. There us struggles, growth and hearts...
This is a very well written book! I love how Susan Grant used words not cussing. It's refreshing to read an actually good book without all that deep if ugly words. That tell me and you she is a true blue author worth your time and getting this series.
The main characters build up their relationship. Heart warming! The supporting characters just enhance the story. Honestly it is well written, entertaining. Susan kept me hostage with needing to finish her book.
Now I have to wait for the next one to be released.. Can't wait
Falcon is a Solo Raptor pilot looking for his Sky Mate and he’s set his sights on Lieutenant Dee “Rainbow” Wilson, who is an intelligence officer, not a pilot. Dee really wants to participate in the Sky Mate project, but has a fear of flying that she’s trying to work on. Falcon is determined to help her because he’s sure she’s his match. I liked Dee and the way she fights to overcome her fears to have her heart’s desire and of course, Falcon is such a sweet, persistent suitor who deserves to find his mate. Another great story in the series and I can’t wait to read more.
Turning out to be a really fun series. Interesting and adventurous characters. Both Falcon and Dee have faced heart breaking loss, but they both maintained their positive outlooks for life. While Dee stays positive she still feels anxiety regarding her parents, and Falcon feels anger about the loss of his mother. While this book seemed from the beginning inevitable, it was still entertaining enough to keep turning the page until the end. Garrokk can't come out soon enough, really looking forward to it. While I read this via Kindle Unlimited, I consider it well worth your time and $$
Falcon hopes he will meet his Sky Mate while he's on Earth, and when he sees Dee Wilson, he is intrigued. Intrigued isn't the word, though, the next morning when he discovers that Lieutenant Dee Wilson (call sign Rainbow) is his instructor and probably off-limits. But the heart (and other parts) want what they want, and with their first kiss, he feels their connection snap into place. However, he doesn't know that Dee is afraid to fly, and if she can't overcome it, they will be torn apart.
Well done Ms. Grant. Written with amazing and intriguing characters that get into a little trouble but manage to get together for a life that's filled with lots of adventures. Very good reading. I hope Ms Grant will have more stories about the.members of the SkyEnd group. I know of one more of the groups stories in the future but there were others in the group so hope they get a story also.
The second book in the Sky Mates/Intergalactic Dating Agency series a well written story with a very good storyline. I enjoyed reading Cyborg sky warrior Falcon and human Intelligence officer Lieutenant Dee Wilson's story. I want to read the next book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Why, oh why, can’t gorgeous Falcon make any headway with sparkling Dee? Great fun, good story, wonderful characters, simmering romance, and perfect dialogue. I can hardly wait for Garokk! I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader copy of this book.
I loved this book because characters were so real. I felt like I was right there with the couple as they discovered their connection to each other. I sighed so many times because Falcon was so sweet and determined. Fast and enjoyable alien romance.
Dee and Falcon are Sky Mates but there is a problem with the pairing. She is afraid to fly and Sky Mates have to work together to fly a special ship. Of course there is a solution but it is fun to watch as they work toward their HEA. A fun read the is just right for today.
This is another fab story for the series and it really encapsulates the concept of a sweet and steamy romance. The characters just grabbed at my heart and I loved their determination to find a way. All great fun and I can't wait for more by this author!
This series has been so good. Interesting plot and well described characters. Love that it makes you feel good after you finish with a HEA ending. Can't wait to read the next book.
The story was.great, and the characters were also amazing. The romance was great not over done. The sex was tasteful and held interest. Kudos to the author. I highly recommend to readers.
Loved the first book also loved this one more, they are entertaining, read this in an afternoon. The people are well written the men are magical.can not wait for the next one.O and the sex is mind blowing!
When two awesome people like Falcon and Dee try to hold back from their mutual attraction, you feel their pain. At the same time you’re rooting for them. Thinking outside the box and positive action may be all they need, right? Enjoy!!!
I really enjoy these sci-fi romances. Susan Grant's story line in each one I've read is entertaining and filled with colorful characters. I can't wait to see what's in store for Solo Ellfen.
Can a high flying fighter pilot and a woman who is afraid of flying find a way to make it work after falling hopelessly in love? While trying to keep it secret from everyone else
I really loved Falcons and Dees story. They fell in love organically and Falcon had to work hard for Dee. A sweet and safe story with a HEA👍👍👍 Can't wait for the next Solo to find their SkyMate😍😍
A really nice build up to a romance with the teacher who has some engaging after school activities. I was a touch startled by some jumping past Dee's flying foibles.
