I didn't like that Lindsay was Gibson's boss but they were a cute couple. Also why did they hire a nanny? they have 2 kids not 10! i thought this only happens in my Harlequins lol

"The Possessive Groom" is the story of Lindsey and Gibson.

A sweet romance with a heroine, who has fostered her adopted siblings since a very young age and now finds herself as the head of her brother's company. She meets the brooding hero, sparks fly, lots of drama ensues, and the book ends in a HEA.

Good one time read.

No strong representation of diverse characters or minority identities.

Overall: 2.5-stars

BOO – I'm SO done with Hero's who decide carte blanche what's best for the Heroine. I get that the Hero, Gibson, wanted to protect the Heroine, Lindsay, but seeing as how he did so by stealing her company's Top Secret project, the decision affected her in many ways.

The unilateral decision by Gibson was uncalled for and since everything (of course) works out fine concerning the Top Secret project (Linday's company is able to file for the patent first, rendering the stolen information useless), he really could've stopped to have a conversation with her about it. Especially, considering Lindsay's past is riddled with her being used as a means to an end.

I also didn't like how Lindsay's brother was Team Gibson after Lindsay told him what Gibson did. Her brother didn't know Gibson well and no matter how you qualify Gibson's actions: he stole and didn't tell Lindsay. Her brother also knows how shaky Lindsay's trust is, so it made no sense why he was so forgiving when at the end of the day Lindsay was hurting.

I did like how Lindsay was Gibson's boss and that she's the CEO of this billion-dollar company. I want more women CEOs!

The Possessive Groom, Book 2 of the Groom trilogy, was about Lindsey, the elder foster sister of Darian from Book 1, and Gibson Fox, the former owner of a company that merged with Darian's.
At the end of the first book of the trilogy, Darian turned the reins of his company over to his eldest foster sister, Lindsey, even though she had no idea what to do or how to run such a large multi-million dollar company. What she did know, however, was how to read people and manage the business side of a small cafe. So one of the first things she put into practice was a working retreat with all of the department heads. She figured doing that would be the best way for her to not only learn the names and faces of the people who worked for the company, but it would also give her the opportunity to learn just what it was each department did. While it was a good idea, she hadn't expected to land herself and her employees in the middle of a hurricane.
Gibson flew to the island on the last plane allowed in before the airport shut down all flights coming or going. What he hadn't expected was to become so entranced with the CEO of the company that had purchased his that he couldn't think straight. But what Lindsey didn't know was that Gibson had a secret agenda, one that could end up getting her physically hurt if he didn't follow through and see it to the end, even if he no longer wanted to do what he was being forced into. Gibson hadn't expected to fall in love either, but now that he had, he didn't know how to keep her safe from the clutches of the person who was blackmailing him, and threatening to hurt Lindsey if he didn't do what she demanded. So he did what he shouldn't have...and he got caught doing it. But what no one knew was how the blackmailer found out about his relationship with Lindsey in the first place. Was there a corporate spy amongst the employees of Lindsey's company? Who was sharing information with the blackmailer?
When Lindsey found Gibson stealing information from her computer, she walked away from him without a backward glance, even though it was the last thing she wanted to do. Although he tried to find her, she had simply vanished. All he could do was wait for her to show up again so he could fix things between them.
The title wasn't chosen too well and was a little premature as Gibson wasn't a groom with the right to be possessive , and the book was also more than a little repetitive. For instance, how many times can someone slide a ring onto another person's finger unless it was first taken off before being slid back on?
The short story had all the thrills, chills, angst, and drama of a full-length novel and it had just enough spice to keep it interesting. While the plot was simple, it was enough to not be boring. Other than that it was just okay. It would have been better if the author had dealt with the suspense/blackmailer in more detail, but it just fell flat and went nowhere, which was unfortunate because it would have made for a more interesting storyline.
The two main characters weren't quite up to par. They were each on the lackluster side of intriguing, they were too beta to be alpha, and neither of them had enough maturity to stand up and fill the roles of the hero and heroine that they were created for. The FMC, never having the experience of running a large company, and the MMC being too easily controlled by outside forces to be an alpha male just wasn't appealing. There were also too many unresolved issues that just died, leaving the reader to wonder what happened, who did what, and where it would have gone if the author had written the storyline to completion. Because of that, I couldn't give this novella more than a three-star rating. However, since the first book of the trilogy was good enough to find its way into my Keeper for the Shelves collection, I'll add this one too. At least, they'll stay there until I've read the third book before determining whether or not the entire trilogy deserves to stay there or to be removed.

When Alexa Riley has a new series out, imma buy it. The Groom series is three books, with the final book coming out next month. We met our heroine in the previous book in the series, The Loyal Groom ; Lindsey is the oldest sister in this found family of foster siblings and needed to grow up quickly to take care of them all. Now that they are all grown up and her brother has decided to retire and leave his company to her to run, she has to learn to be a CEO. Our hero's company was just purchased by Lindsey's company (before her brother's retirement, natch) and now he's stuck on this island with the new CEO and the department heads in a get-to-know-each-other retreat, however, he only has eyes for the fiery redhead who's now his boss. He needs to convince her that she's his, while jeopardizing it at the same time because he needs to protect her and the company. But mostly her. I do love me a crazy instalove novella and Alexa Riley satisfies that craving for me! The drama is insane - at one point I was legit screaming at the H to not do what he thought he needed to, but damn if I didn't love it.

THE POSSESSIVE GROOM

HERO /HEROINE:
Lindsey is the oldest of four foster siblings. She's been mothering them for as long as she can remember. She's been managing it all, and now her brothers given her his company, that made their found family billions, to manage. She's a nervous wreck trying to make it all work out. How could love ever find its way in?

Gibson is the CEO of a distribution company and a tech inventor. He's got no time for women or family, just work. He's hoping this new merger will help lighten his work load so he can finally put down roots.

Lindsey is the new CEO the her brother Darian's company after he "retires". To make the transition easier, she plans a getaway on a tropical island for everyone at the company. Gibson's company was acquired by Darian before he retired and when he gets to the island he runs smack dab into Lindsey. The moment they meet, they are attracted to one another. The next day, after saving her life, Gibson and Lindsey end up making out on the beach and later that night between the sheets. They spend the weekend falling in love until Gibson messes up. This story wasn't as good as the first one. I get that we got to know Lindsey better in the first book, but we got nothing about Gibson. But he is a very possessive alpha who likes to dominate in the bedroom and Lindsey loves him to bits.

Lindsay gave her all to her siblings when they found each other in faster care. Her years of sacrifice have led her to the helm of Darian’s company. Gibson Fox enters her world as a new addition to the company. He’s blindsided by the gorgeous new CEO at a corporate retreat. Things heat up between these two a first meeting and then combust when she gets locked out if her suite during a storm. Gibson is a pushy demanding man he commands her heart to love him. Things take a downturn and she runs from Gibson. Eventually things work out and he gets his way and Lindsay couldn’t be happier. I loved the epilogue and can’t wait for the next book.

Gibson and Lindsey

It was a ok read. A bit of a slow boring burner, well compared to other books like this. I also didn't like the fact that he stole company secrets from Lindsey company and that her brother just let him stay on after that. I am a bit disappointed actually. The first book on this series was a winner and I expected the same with this one. Oh, well!

Lindsey ha cuidado a sus hermanos desde muy joven y ahora se encuentra a cargo de la empresa de su hermano. Conoce a Gibson y saltan chispas.
