A cabin in the woods hides a deadly secret from a pair of criminals on the run. Play time takes a demonic turn when a child discovers a hellish portal in the snow-covered playground. And a satanic cult turns a family vacation into a living nightmare…

But before you set off on your journey, make sure you’ve packed the essentials. Flashlight? Check. Salt? Check. Iron? Check. You never know what awaits as you travel the back roads at night.

Pretty Good.

A great collection of books for you. There are fourteen books in this collection and most of them are very good.

I would say some are just good, most are very good. And of course I have my favorites:

1. Jacob and his Piano Teacher by Yoli Ramazzina
2. Mr. Stitcher by Sadie Gibson
3. 121 Ash Street by John Gallant
4. Books and Broken Glass by Ron Ripley

If I could give these more than five stars, I would.

For the rest of the book…Four stars. 💫💫💫💫

MY KIND OF HORROR STORY

Horror does not need to be all blood and guts to be scary. The scariest stories are those which I like to call the "thinking man's horror". It is when an author hits upon a primal fear of the reader and the reader, through his own imagination and experiences, maximizes the scare potential of a horror story. The stories in this anthology are that type of horror story.

This is the tenth volume in this series. It is the first one I've read and it will not be my last. There are 14 stories in this volume, none of which are bad. Two of the stories I did not care for, but only because I did not find the subject matter my cup of tea. I enjoyed reading the entire book, but four of the stories are, in my opinion, the best of the best. They are (1) Heister's Haunt (2) The Dark (3) 121 Ash Street and (4) Books and Broken Glass.

I was given an advance copy of Night Terrors 10 in exchange for an honest review.

I liked most of the stories in the book. The ones that I did like were really good. Some were "meh" and didn't really catch my interest but most of them were really good. The length of the stories was good if you don't want a full length novel. I enjoyed the book overall.

I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

This is a brilliant read.
Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start.
Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable.
Great drama and romance with wonderful world building.
Can't wait to read what the author brings out next.
Recommend reading.

I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.

I have yet to read one of these anthologies that didn't warrant a five-star rating. This one keeps the streak running. Each of these collections has an underlying theme, a source of the scares if you will. In this case, it's structures (houses, sheds, cabins, etc). They're out there, hidden just off the beaten path, behind the copse of trees you pass by every day, just waiting for some unsuspecting soul to wander up and decide that quaint old farmhouse is just the neatest place ever. Go ahead. Stroll on inside and make yourself at home. Just don't make any long term plans.
Keep them coming, Scare Street. You have a real knack for finding great new talent in the horror genre. They never disappoint.

I received a complimentary copy of this book and this is my honest and unbiased review.

Another good little collection of creepies. A murder of crows that may take the term literally. A blob that wants very much to come into the house and a suspected vampire are just a few of the dark tales down this street. The stories are just the right length for a quick read while you are on a break with a little something something for everyone. Nicely done yet again.

Jimmy Hsu

Is the best! Always love reading JH short stories, which seem to be the least story in the collection. I like it when he also meets Shane in the other novels, and how they work together some time.

Tales of terror

I enjoyed reading this tome of terrifying stories about haunting music, scary crows, haunted houses and unearthly creatures of the night. Each story was entertaining and gripping.

Nightmares

This volume of stories have some real knee trembling moments. All the stories were well written, some made you stop and think which can be even more terrifying. All in all another enjoyable collection of terrors.

Good Short Stories

Good stories but not enough of them. I enjoyed them, though. Kept my mind and imagination involved. Will probably read again

I originally really liked this series, but the stories got kind of boring after 10 volumes. The lack of quality became very apparent after I read the Best of Best Horror Collection by Ellen Datlow, which had so many well written stories.
The stories in Night Terrors feel more like something you can find on Nosleep in abundance. I appreciate giving new writers a chance but it feels like most were chosen for quantity instead of quality. How else could Scare Street publish these collections so frequently?

Volume 10 features a lot of stories featuring vampires or children or both.
The Dark was the only one that stood out to me as being a little more out of the box. The rest of the stories were not bad, but nothing special either.

I wish they would ditch the Jimmy Hsu series. Every story is just the same as last volume, just with a different entity. There are no stakes for Jimmy because he wins every time, either due to his unbelievably endless wit and photographic memory or by somehow miraculously being able to easily defeat a supernatural being in a fight.
