Maximus 'The Gladiator' Turner has returned to his hometown thanks to an injury that ended his pro hockey career. Now that he is no longer in the spotlight, he is free to live the quiet and unassuming life he has always wanted. Donovan has a good life. He owns a pub in his small hometown, has a good relationship with his family, and has been coasting along just fine. All of that changes when the boy he had a crush on back in high school comes strolling into town as if by thin air.
