Dark Choices Trilogy Dark Choices The Quandary ★ Dark Choices Paradigm Shift ★ Dark Choices The Accord

Dark Choices The Quandary

When Rufsur and Edna meet, the attraction is as unexpected as it is undeniable. Except, she's the clan's judge and councilwoman, and he's Kalugal's second-in-command. Will loyalty and duty to their people keep them apart?

Dark Choices Paradigm Shift

Edna and Rufsur are miserable without each other, and their two-week separation seems like an eternity. Long-distance relationships are difficult, but for immortal couples they are impossible. Unless one of them is willing to leave everything behind for the other, things are just going to get worse. Except, the cost of compromise is far greater than giving up their comfortable lives and hard-earned positions. The future of their people is on the line.

Dark Choices The Accord

The winds of change blowing over the village demand hard choices. For better or worse, Kian’s decisions will alter the trajectory of the clan’s future, and he is not ready to take the plunge. But as Edna and Rufsur’s plight gains widespread support, his resistance slowly erodes.

Romantic fantasy

This trilogy sees Jacki and Kalugal married and a continued lessening of the distrust between the cousins. Rufsur finds his mate but their romance is a difficult one. Wendy and Vlad try to recover from her betrayal and Richard tries to find a way to be accepted. A paradigm shift is in the works for the clan. Eleanor turns up at Kalugal's home with evil intent.

A Good Read

I enjoy The Children of the Gods Series. The clan is driven to extreme measures to keep their village hidden from outsiders. The finding dormants for the clan's females may be solved with Kian's cousin, Kalugal.

I have read the series from Book One (Dark Stranger) through book 46! This is the best paranormal romance series I have ever read. Even better than the Shade series by B. Forrest! I read them all since the beginning of the summer till Oct 27 2021

I can't get enough...

I love this story and can't wait to see what happens next. I wasn't sure about how the clan was going to grow. I am very much satisfied by the development and connection of each coupling and how it spurs on the continuation of the story. I'm so hooked.

Re-reading the entire series

I've been reading each book as they've been released from the beginning. I figured since I'm waiting for book 90 to be released, I'd go back to the beginning and read all of the bundles this time.

Great read....

I love these sets of books in the series of the children of the gods. I'm enjoying the storyline almost as much as I'm enjoying the characters.

I was not excited about Rufsur and Edna, but when you commit to a 70+ book series, there is information outside of the relationship in focus important for the reader to absorb. Good luck self trudging through this trilogy...perhaps I will be pleasantly surprised. Nah- I am struggling with this trilogy. Perhaps I need a break from the series or perhaps I am simply sick of Eleanor and Edna. Yeah, that's probably it.

Within the first few pages, as is typical, readers are reminded of certain things: facts, family relations, powerful abilities, though I find this extremely unnecessary. This is the 41st book of the series. No one starts with book 41 and anyone who has read to this point already knows.

Also, I want to be surprised. I am not. I do not want my predictions to be true. They are. Why is it that every time two choices are available, one that will cause a huge problem and the other that will cause no problem, that the former always happens? For example, not everyone should transition, it is not realistic nor is it for multiple clan women to be pregnant at the same time. And suddenly accepting a non-immortal into the clan is a big red flag. Overall, the series is in dire need of changing its course to less obvious but more realistic conclusions.

Mild Spoilers:
Nothing between Rufsur and Edna beyond a physical attraction is real. After two encounters in passing and one intimate night, each claims too many feelings and too much interest, yet she turns away without hesitation. Without any building of a relationship or time to develop something between them, readers cannot be expected to buy into whatever it is they may or may not have. I certainly do not.

With Richard serving as the clan stud, Stella mentions that all of the potential dormants (he has been with) have transitioned. How? Richard is human, therefore does not have venom, which is needed for females to transition.

Let's not forget about the awkwardness that is Vlad and Wendy. He will always be too good for her. And I simply do not believe in their relationship nor do I like their nicknames for each other; just reading them makes me cringe.
