What sets the rich apart from 'normal people'? A mindset. In The Billionaire Mindset, Daniel Strauss, the Strauss in the investment firm Stocks & Strauss, and a highly successful venture capitalist explains how to adopt this life-changing new mindset. He shares his secrets of success, including how to access capital, where to find the right people to help you reach your goals, and explains how to free your mind from self-imposed limitations, so that you can also think like a billionaire.
LOVED this book. After the previous book that I read (The Advantage), I was a little weary of business books in general. Daniel's Billionaire Mindset completely shattered that perception! It was written in a way that made it feel like someone was sharing their wisdom and experiences with me at a braai. I have always preferred to learn from examples (metaphors) and this book used metaphors at the highest standards. I have already started working on "my big business idea" using one of the approaches mentioned in his book (different levels of thinking). I look forward to his next masterpiece!
It is a very short (can be finished in one day) book, but somehow it feels stretched out. All the advise could have been covered in a blog, a short one at that. It claims to be for South Africans, but then, examples use USD and foreign entrepreneurs as reference. It does not offer advice or mindsets of any of the challenges unique to South Africa. It feels like a long add for his industry, spending most of the book implying that you should sell your equity to venture capital firms, which makes sense if you realize he owns such a firm. He regularly, refers to his "poor" upbringing, but went to a prestige and expensive university in the country and did one of the most expensive courses, that alone puts him in the top 2% of South Africans by wealth. This book feels like a first step in a process, I will not be surprised if he launches an online course or some other scheme after this book, making this book the advertisement flyer for that service.

Contains a lot of "common sense" , for anyone who did a decent business course.Nothing new offered. The book is basically summaries or personal nuggets gained from his MBA.Did not enjoy unfortunately.

Daniel sets out logical principles in language that is easy to understand. I always enjoy authors that can convey complex ideas in layman terms in a way that does not make the point overly simplistic. Actionable tools for entrepreneurs and some great gems in the form of lightbulb moments are shared.
I enjoyed this book as an audiobook. Although a bit dragged out, I think it holds some important pieces of advice and changed my perspective on certain aspects of wealth and creating wealth.
