May

Fifteen years ago, Harrison blew my mind. He was the hottest guy I'd ever been with and to say the chemistry was off the charts is an understatement.

But it was temporary from the minute it started.

It ended when it was supposed to. He left and we promised we'd stay friends. I married another man. I got divorced. A lot of dreams never worked out.

Now when I see him, he's only gotten sexier. I can't help but wonder what if.

Maybe now it's too late to find out.

Harrison

May might be the perfect woman. She's sexy, smart, and she never got hung up on feelings. I'll never forget the way it felt to be with her.

A long time ago, we had the perfect summer love. We knew it would be over in August when I left for a scholarship, and we said we were keeping it casual. A clean break. Still friends.

But there's a secret I never told her.

It hurt like hell when it ended.

Now one mistake could be all it takes to reveal the truth and put us on the collision course we never expected.

Lost Mountain Fire & Rescue is a series of fast-paced short romances about rugged firefighters, beautiful mountain settings, small-town warmth, and happily ever afters. Harrison is the seventh book in the series, but don't worry, you don't have to read the others to enjoy this standalone romance with HEA and NO cliffhangers!

Harrison and May spent a summer together 15 years ago, knowing it was temporary since he would be going off to college. Neither had any expectations and just stayed friends. May had gotten married and divorced over the years, and now she was back home. He never told her that he had feelings for her back when it ended, and it really hurt when it was over. And now she wonders if it’s too late to start up their relationship again.

Harrison had to convince May of how he felt. He had written a letter that he still held from the time their special summer had ended. In it, he told her that he loved her. He left the envelope on the bar at the seat he would normally be sitting at, and she found it. Would it make a different to her? She was so careful not to make him feel pushed into anything. What else can he do to convince her of his love?

The One Mistake They Never Made

WOW! Harrison and May just knocked it out of the park ya’ll. I’ve loved every book in this series, but y’all, they made me cry. Two people so afraid of losing each other, that they won’t see where things could lead. They had one summer together when they were younger, but with him leaving for college, they knew it couldn’t last. Their connection was just so sweet and beautiful to read about, and their chemistry was very obvious. This book started off with a bang, and ended by pulling on every emotional heartstring I had. I loved it, and now I’m ready for more!

Harrison and May grew up as best friends. That all changed at the end of their senior year. They had a passionate affair but they both knew it would end when college time came. Their three months together was the best of their lives and then they turned their backs on the relationship. It is now 15 years later. They are both single now and living in town Their pasts have made them cynical about love lasting and long-term relationships. They are still close friends. Then one night they talk about the past and their old feelings come alive again. They can't resist another night together but they know it will just be one night because they don't want to lose the friend they have in each other.

This is a sweet story with a bit of steam. The two main characters feel very realistic, are friends who have known each other forever, and don't want to ruin a good thing with a real relationship. It becomes a friends with benefits type story since they are getting older and their friends are all getting married. I really like that May has a bar that is all female run and that she actually likes and supports her staff. Both May and Harrison are hard working, friendly, and loyal to their friends and community. The story is short, so the plot was fairly straight forward. I did not really notice any writing issues. All in all a nice story about love and romance for the long haul.

Harrison and May had a wonderful summer of love before he left for college. Once back years later, they remained the best of friends. Their banter keeps them open and close. One night things go further, and a few twists come into play. The characters and the storyline were wonderful, with lots of emotion and feeling. Learning to come to terms with those feelings brings their relationship one step closer to the end they both really want. Courage is finally leaving a letter he wrote eight years earlier after that wonderful summer. Truth springs forth and she finally hears it. The ending was perfect. Very well done. Love this series.

Harrison and May grew close over a summer break, knowing that their relationship had an end date made their split easier, or so they thought. Years later after bad relationship and a divorce, Harrison and May find their way back together but they refuse to move past friends until they start reminiscing about the past.

Harrison and May's feeling are forged in pain of past, when they are able to find the courage to step forward they soon realize where they are meant to be. There is something sweet about Harrison and May's friendship and connection that makes this a great story to read.

This series just gets better and better. Kudos to author Valencia Hess for taking us along on the emotional roller coaster ride that is Harrison and May's story.

May and Harrison are in their mid 30's now and find themselves reminiscing about the summer they spent together fifteen years ago. When the conversation turns jokingly to their sexual exploits as the bar is closing Harrison realizes May has made it clear the conversation isn't over as she prepares to leave. By the next day Harrison has realized he doesn't want just one night, he wants more. But will May's shocking news be a game changer?

May and Harrison have been friends and then the summer before they leave for school they have three wonderful months of wonderful romance. Then they leave and she marries and divorces and they kept in touch. They are back to the friend with benefits and could it be more. He was sad when they left each other before. May is a great characters and I really liked Harrison, I just wished that maybe they discussed their feelings a little more. This is a story story but it flows so well and its just a great story of two people.

Harrison is the hazards expert of the county fire department. There is a fire across the street from May's bar. Once the fire is out, Harrison goes to the bar. Harrison and May had 3 months together 15 years earlier. While they agreed to a date on the relationship, they never told the other one how they felt. Fast forward, May is pregnant and Harrison is trying to convince her that he truly loves her. This is a short read. I don't like how neither one of them spoke up about how they truly feel.

In love with May for the past 15 years, Harrison keeps his feelings to himself. They decided back then to stay friends but he regrets it. In love with Harrison for the past 15 years, May does not believe there is such a thing as an all-time love and tells herself that the deal she and Harrison made back then is for the best. Then Harrison and May get together one more time after which, May finds out she is pregnant. This is a sweet, steamy story with a HEA. Highly recommended.

This is a sweet friends to lovers second chance romance. It's a enjoyable short read. I look forward to reading the other books in the series.
Harrison and May had the most incredible summer fling before he went away to college. It was the perfect arrangement because it would end when he left. Fifteen years later, they have both lived their separate lives but have remained friends. What happens when they give in to the still burning chemistry? Can they stay friends or will this drive them apart?

Harrison, a firefighter and disaster response specialist had a 15 year history with May the local bar owner. The attraction is still strong.
This is a sweet story of a second chance love that is rekindled after a night of passion. I really enjoyed Harrison's character and how he thought about the relationship with May. He wasnt afraid to show her how he felt when it came down to it. Such a great story!

The author has pulled us into the lives of Harrison and May and never lets go. When they graduated high school, they had a romance knowing it would only last three months. Now, as adults they realize that maybe they should have been honest with each other back then.

Oh my Harrison is such a great short story about how Harrison and May turn thier friendship into a relationship 15 years after thier summer fling.

The characters bring out the feels as thier angst over thier past and indecisiveness over deepening thier friendship to the next level. So worth the read!!

This series has been so great to read and watch the firemen fall one by one.
