He’s dark. Dirty. Dangerous. A brother in my dad's MC. Everything Mom told me to avoid. Everything I shouldn’t want. But his dark, his dirty, and his dangerous are like catnip to me. He stirs fear into the hearts of men, but I hear his rage. I feel it like it’s my own. He’s a killer. Shameless. Some might even call him a psycho. I just call him soul mate. We were born to raise hell together, born to make sick b*stards pay for their sins, born to be the king and queen of darkness… Now, the king just needs to get that memo.
NYX is the first book in the eleven-book ‘A Dark & Dirty Sinners’ MC’ series. It is not a standalone.
USA Today and International Best Selling Author Serena Akeroyd aka G. A. Mazurke is most known for her mafia and MC series set in the Five Points Mob Universe.
Avid reader of all things romance, she first started her career as a why choose author in both contemporary and paranormal.
She eventually made her way to MF romance where she found her groove with the O’Donnelly brothers, the Satan Sinners and most recently the Valentini Family.
In her back list you can find some MM, MF, MFM and Why Choose romances. HEA guaranteed!
When not writing Serena is either reading, traveling or coloring.
I don't see how they can possibly end up together especially when Nyx has "thoughts" about her mother *I will come back to that* Also, apparently he kills people who are sex traffickers or people of such kind, but you should've seen they way he treated women himself! "...but Cammie wants to suck my cock, don't you, darlin'?" I hollered the last part so that my bitch of choice knew to get her fine ass over here.
She had the face of a saint and the body of a sinner- exactly how I liked my bitches
She knew was playing with fire tonight, but although she was feeling wary, she wouldn't say shit. She'd do whatever the fuck I wanted, whenever. Another reason I liked her.
"Get on your knees, take your tits out and suck my dick" "Thought you might wanna take this somewhere private"*cause he was in a bar in front of so many people* The instant the words slipped from her mouth, she knew she'd made a mistake. She kept pulling shit, trying to take shit to another level, which was never gonna fucking happen. She was a clubwhore, nothing less nothing more
See what I mean?
Now, coming back their relationship, I've read only up till chapter 2.5 yep! it was so bad so I can't say much, but I can't possibly phantom how they end up together because he mentions about how he used to jerk off to the thoughts of her mother when he was younger. Not only does he mention that multiple times, he also says how Giulia (h) was a carbon copy of her mother, only a pimped up version- bigger tits, narrower waist and rounder hips.yes, this was exactly how he said it
Also, did I mention that said mother is now dead? And when he hears the news, the first thing that comes to his mind is how fucking pretty she looked? or how he jerked off to her!?
I'm sorry not sorry but I just couldn't bring myself to read ahead in this book! And the quotes from the book? they were only the beginning, the things he said later on just got worse! I don't possibly see how they end up together or how he kills monsters as he calls them, like dude learn to treat girls right yourself first!
Nyx immediately reminds me of David LaBrava or as most know him Happy from Sons Of Anarchy.
Nyx is the type of dirty grimy hero most secretly fantasize about, and reading this story had me questioning my own deep dark soul.
Guilia is the type of no-nonsense FMC that I have come to love and appreciate after plenty of Mary Sue’s running around
My advice is to read the book, immerse yourself in the world of Satan’s Sinners and let Nyx and Guilia take you for a ride or two and let yourself feel a little bit bloodthirsty.
Satan's Sinners is a One Percenter Motorcycle Club which makes Nyx, as the club's enforcer, someone to be feared and avoided at all costs. Even the club Prez treads lightly around Nyx though it's known that Nyx is loyal to all his brothers and will do whatever it takes to protect the Club and it's members.
Giulia knows another side of Nyx, the hero of her childhood, but that was then and this is now. Traveling cross country back to the club after her mother dies of a heart attack, Giulia & her brothers want to come home where their father is still a patched member of the club. The only unknown is whether the club will welcome them or not.

Warning: This is a dark story that includes violence, blood letting, and fictional biker/motorcycle club lifestyle of the one percenters. Those having triggers with such content should proceed with caution. Consider yourself warned.
OK. Let's just get the warning issues taken care of. This is a dark themed contemporary biker romance that's heavy on sex, booze, illegal financial enterprises, and violence. One percenters live by a totally different code and that's evident in full spades in this book/story. The one redeeming quality is no sex trade/non-dub consent/underage content is anywhere in sight. I was going to include prostitution but club sweetcheeks/wh*res don't fall under that umbrella in my opinion.
Main characters. Nyx & Giulia. Nyx (translates to dark) and Giuliana (Latino curvy female) are explosive from the start. It would take a strong personality to be able to hold her own in this sort of environment. Sit back and enjoy as she does just that. Then watch as Nyx, who's used to being obeyed and even feared, flounders through uncharted waters with Giulia while trying to keep his man card intact. Does this transition into adult content/erotica scenes? Oh hell ya to the max.
Secondary characters. A full cast of characters round out the world building - some good (but keep in mind this is a one percenter MC) - some catty and bad - and some just TSTL (their fates are pretty much a given). As a new release I'll refrain from identifying which is which for now.
Issues. Not many and I'd be nitpicking with the ones I do have concerns over. Conclusion/ending was just too condensed, rushed, and wrapped up in quick fashion. I will also add that while the actual ending is not so much a cliffhanger - it's a 'to be continued' similar to a TV series end of season episode that keeps you guessing what the rest of the story will be for the future. The other thought I had was I wanted a better feel of backstory and character development. If I'm right, the author kept several secondary characters vague in terms of this so they could be featured in their own story (cough, cough, Maverick, cough, cough) which I get but still left me wanting.
On the whole I really appreciated and enjoyed this fictional rendition of MC club lifestyle and characters who would be a part of it. While dark, I didn't feel the author pushed any comfort zones or principles. Definitely a book fans of this genre/trope should check out.
***Re-read 1/1/24*** This is hands down a favorite of mine. And because I'm finally moving forward in the series again I wanted to read this one again just because. I absolutely love Nyx and Guilia. What's even better is that every time I read this one, I figure out something I either didn't before or I forgot. I also remind myself I need to keep going because I really want to know who helped her in the bar when she got attacked.
Seriously, read this series if you're looking for a good ole' motorcycle club series. Because this one is pretty freaking amazing! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ***Re-read*** This is one of my favorite books. Pretty apparent since this is the 6th time I've read through this book, lol.
I don't know what it is, but I just love Nyx and Giulia. Maybe it's because Giulia is one of those bad-ass females that doesn't take anybody's crap. She fights for herself. Nyx is that dominating, possessive/jealous, alpha male character I love so much. And together these two are just perfection! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This was my first book by Serena Akeroyd. I'm so glad I read this! Such an awesome book!
I absolutely love Nyx! He's such an alpha male. Even though he swears he will never claim a female he finds himself drawn to Giulia. She is the perfect match for him. Giulia isn't afraid of him and is constantly telling him no and he isn't used to that. Along with Nyx and Giulia's POV, we also get several others throughout the book.
“No one will ever hurt you again,” I vowed between gritted teeth. “You can’t promise that,” she said with a sad laugh. “I thank you for it, though.”
I'm such a fan of dark romance and this book hit all the things! Add the MC element and you can't go wrong! I can't wait to continue with this series!
This was honestly such a hot mess… The cover is beautiful, but the book has like 3 different plots with none of them being fully explained…
The slut-shaming every other page got old quick. Smut was good, but the writing was just blah. Some things an MC just wouldn’t say at all. Also Nyx’s obsession with Giulia’s deceased mom? Let’s not start with Giulia comparing her father to her fuck buddy on a scale of 1-10 in terms of good looks. The author needs some psychological evaluation.
Serena Akeroyd get back here and give me more! Be warned she is not holding back with this book. There is a trigger warning. Nothing that bothered me because I'm as twisted as the characters but for some there are themes that could be triggers. If you read her books you know she doesn't shy away from hard topics but knows how to handle them properly. Also this series is connected to her duet Screw You/Screw Me. So I recommend reading them as well since that world is connected to the Satan's Sinners MC world. You won't be disappointed. 😉
Nyx grabbed me from the first page, sank his teeth in, and didn't let go. It made me cry, made me cheer (sue me, I'm bloodthirsty) , made me feel soooo many fecking emotions. I wanted to slap some people and stab others all while hoping Nyx would find some light in his darkness and Giulia could find a place she belongs. Are they each others missing piece?
There is a lot going on in this book but they are details you need to read for yourself and I refuse to spoil them. I will say this, this is an MC series and as such prepare yourself for dirty, filthy bikers with a penchant for violence. Satan's Sinners MC is not to be messed with and Nyx is their Enforcer and feared by all for good reason, as you'll see page one. The men of this MC are dirty, dangerous, and hard. You'll get to see them along with Nyx.
The FMC, Giulia, is a firecracker with a short fuse, just ask the sweetbutts. She is strong, a ball buster, and maybe just what the devil ordered. With more blood on his hands then most of the MC, Nyx is the devil, the protector, the Enforcer. If you are a woman, then you have him on your side. But every bad*ss needs a tougher woman to ride b*tch. Giulia can go toe to toe with bikers, especially Nyx, after all she grew up there and you can take the biker brat out of the clubhouse but you can't take clubhouse out of the biker brat.
This book is dark but beautifully written. There is a lot to this new dynamic world Serena Akeroyd has built. So much so I really hated it when it ended. I know there will be more and we'll get to see the other men of Satan's Sinners MC as well as more of Nyx and Giulia, but dang it I want more now. If you love MC reads, this is definitely one you want to grab and read. I highly recommend this book.
Overall Opinion The Good: I liked that the h wasn’t a pushover or overly wowed by his hotness. I also liked that she was a curvy girl and while it was discussed more than a few times — it wasn’t jammed down my throat like a lot of authors do when they’re trying to represent a non-typical/perfect h in a book.
The Not-So-Good: The ending. I felt like it was way too abrupt. I also felt like I was just teased with this great connection and love story but it never quite got there. I did like them for each other in the end, but I think it could’ve been supported much more with them having deeper conversations or anything to help me tap into my feelings for them.
The Bad: I personally found the sex scenes a little cringey. See below in the heat level spoiler for more specifics. I also just didn’t feel a sexual chemistry between them so that could’ve contributed to my lack of tolerance there. I’m also frustrated that they never shared “ILYs”. I get that they’re supposed to be bad ass biker people — but I just wanted the moment I guess.
Overall: This was just alright for me. I wanted a mc romance that was a little more gritty, and this definitely was that as it wasn’t a fluffy romance. I might continue on to others in the series…I might not 🤷🏻♀️
Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Guilia and Nyx’s story. Guilia’s mom died and her older brothers want to return to their father’s mc that they grew up in. Guilia remembers the troubles her mother had with her father’s cheating ways in the mc, so she is not interested at all in becoming a biker’s woman. Nyx is the enforcer for the mc that is drawn to the new spitfire that is now the mc cook to earn her keep. There is some cat and mouse, some mc drama, some sexy times…and they get a HFN ending.
Point Of View (POV): This alternated between (mainly) Guilia and Nyx’s POV with some parts told in the POV of some of the side characters.
Overall Pace of Story: Alright, this did have some slow parts in the middle but I never skimmed.
Instalove: No, they take a while to develop stronger feelings.
H (Hero) rating: 4 stars. Nyx. I liked him. I appreciated how he protected women regardless of it was going against his brothers.
h (heroine) rating: 3 stars. Guilia. I liked her strength, but she was a little too bitchy at times.
Sadness level: Low, no tissues needed
Push/Pull: Yes
Heat level: Alright. They have some tension and scenes -- but not so much it takes away from the story.
Descriptive sex: Yes
OW (Other Woman)/OM (Other Man) drama: Not really
Sex scene with OW or OM: Yes
Cheating: Not between mcs
Separation: No, once they get together they stay together
Possible Triggers: Yes
Closure: This ends in an alright place for the couple but with a cliffhanger of sorts for the club drama. I wanted much more of their commitment to each other . I would call this a HFN ending.
Safety: This one is probably Not Safe for most safety gang readers depending on personal preferences
I liked it very much. What I didn't like though was the r@pe scene, I really could do without it. I definitely skipped this part. Also the part comparing the h with her mother to whom he had a crush as a teenager, totally unnecessary.
Nyx is the first installment of the Dark and Dirty Sinners MC Series. This book is dark right from the get go. If you're expecting a sweet MC read, this isn't it. The first chapter is a torture scene, then goes to the party celebrating Nyx's kill of a Pedophile. That'd right it's his specialty. This book isn't for the faint of heart, Nyx has his demons and it turns out Giulia Fontaine does too! They are perfect for each other and a good part of the book os them fighting that attraction. But there's plenty of stuff going on around them in the MC. When they finally give in to the attraction between them we find out exactly why he is called the Terminator. Nyx and Giulia will break your heart when they talk about their pasts. Especially when Nyx finally tells here about why he does what he does. This the start of a great team.
Audiobook review: The Narration by Connor Crais as Nyx makes Nyx sound Sexy as all get out. If ypu hadn't seen the cover, read the book before, you would be panting after him. The performance was spot on. CJ Bloom is able to bring both Giulia across as on tough MF Bada$$ b*tch and still have a vulnerable side. She didn't take crap ftom the sweet butts, but for some reason Nyx seemed to speak to here. I highly recommend listening to this audiobook!
Nyx is a cut right to my heart book! Wow! The story line is fantastic! Maybe a little dark for some but real! The MC club and characters are crazy. Can't wait for the other books! Nyx and Giulia were so freaking hot together! Strong willed, dark sides, take no shit perfect for each other! Serena knocked it out of the park! Loved it!
Nyx (club enforcer for the Satan's Sinners MC) and Giulia (FMC) have both had a difficult past. So like attracts like when Giulia and her brothers return home to The Sinners after their mother dies. Except Giulia is especially prickly with everyone and finds an adversary in Nyx. Mainly from Giulia who saw how her mother was treated as an old lady and refuses to end up like that or worse. These two characters are shockingly not the most lovable ones but surprisingly you cant help but like them. They so have redeeming qualities that you find out about gradually throughout the book. Still its a book that definitely pulls you in and keeps you gripped. Thats for sure. Just flaming great!! Please tell me Rex and Rachel get their own book? Hope so
LOVED this story!!! Ahh NYX was such a powerful character. I loved how all the characters in the background had such defining roles in this book to make the story line so incredible! And then of course Giulia..I love a strong woman in a book so these two together were just electric! Fantastic reading and cannot wait until the release of the next one!!
Now, this is one example of how to write a 1%MC romance. It was dark, gritty, and raw. Nyx just moved himself up into my top BBF's in this subgenre. I loved the bantering between Guilia and him. I loved that he's tatted, pierced, and has baggage. Baggage and demons that seem to be soothed by Guilia. There were leftover mysteries in this book but I think those will be answered as the series progresses. I need to know more about a certain savior too.
First of all, how great is this cover? I’m a sucker for a pretty cover, but you know you have to back it up with some good content. This one delivers. From the start, I was sucked into this story. Nyx is an Enforcer in his MC, a real tough type. He is wrestling some demons, a dark history that has made him into a man that inspires fear in most everyone. Giulia grew up the daughter of a biker and his Old Lady that got tired of the life and moved her and her brothers away. After her death, the siblings head back home to the club. I love that Giulia is an unapologetic, fierce woman. She’s not going to let anyone belittle or degrade her, or bully and intimidate her. She is fierce. Nyx is drawn to her fire, and it’s refreshing that he is attracted to that fiery streak in her. He doesn’t want to tame her, or make her be anything less than the spitfire she is. In turn, Giulia wants Nyx as he is. Not in spite of his demons, and not because of his darkness. Rather, his demons can flourish in her flames, and together they just fit, perfectly. Very well done, and sets up the rest of the MC for their s
Totally new author for me and got to say this one really hit the spot and I will defiantly be continuing on with this series. It’s dark MC romance so comes chock full of dark and gritty language and situations. It really doesn’t pull its punches and I was hooked from the minute I picked it up.
Giulia and her brothers end up back with the Satan’s Sinners MC after their mother dies. Their dad dog is a brother and the twins want to prospect Giulia is just along for the ride she dislikes her father but isn’t prepared to lose her siblings so soon after her mum. She’s also determined not to end up like her mother: her dad's old lady who he constantly disrespected with his cheating and violence whilst they were together this for her is just meant to be a stopgap. But she’ll need to make herself useful if she wants to stay at the compound and as she has no plans to use her body she instead offers to cook for them.
Giulia is a total spitfire and doesn’t allow anyone to disrespect her she’s has a temper and a mean mouth and she isn’t afraid to use it. She can also take care of her herself which she proves almost instantly with her take no prisoners behaviour. Nyx is the club enforcer and everyone is afraid of him he’s built a reputation over the years as being a stone-cold killer. He has a tragic backstory concerning his sister which affects his actions to this day. This has also contributed to his beliefs concerning violence against women. He’s instantly pulled towards Giulia not that you’d know it initially, their snarky back and forth banter becoming an added highlight to Nyx's day. When the two finally get on the same page with each other there antics together were electric so full of heat with loads of delicious chemistry. I was honestly surprised by Nyx’s hidden heart beating underneath all that testosterone and BS. it just needed the right key in Giulia to unlock the potential and now he’ll do whatever it takes to keep her safe from harm.
This also had a great story arc that I’m looking forward to continuing and learning more about the Sinners in the future. It's the first book in a longer series and going by this one I now have high expectations for the rest of the series. It was extremely well written with a raw gritty dark undertone that couldn’t help but pull me into the unfolding story. I definitely recommend this but do be aware this does contain triggers.
Serena Akeroyd has this amazing ability to write strong, empowered females that are likeable and relatable, as well as raw and gritty males that are utterly devoted to their women - it's a combination we can't help but drool over. This story is no different. I loved Giulia's spunk and determination. Her vulnerabilities were real, but they didn't make her weak. Nyx - eek - I just adored him. This tough and rugged male who has no clue what's happening to him when he meets Guilia. There's an innocence there that tempers that dark and dangerous part of him...and OMG...he's just...SWOON worthy. This first book set up the series and the MC world nicely - giving readers secondary characters that we become just as invested in as the main characters. Overall an awesome read. Can't wait for Link!!!
I read this as an ARC, I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This book is a book that has a trigger warning. Subject and some matter is not for everyone.
That being said Nyx and Giulia are just so meant to be their story is just one that shouldn’t work but it does. Nyx is the man you hate to love and he’s the ultimate MC bad boy. Find out more by reading this amazing book.
Lizzie was a fireball.” Fuck, I hoped Giulia had her fire. From what I’d learned of her so far, she did, and I couldn’t wait to be razed to the ground in her inferno. That statement pretty much sets the entire tone of this book. Wow! An amazing read!
Nyx by Serena Akeroyd is book One in the Satan's Sinners MC Series. This is the story of Giulia and Nyx. This was a book that pulled me into their story and I couldn't put it down. This started my mission to read as many books as I can by this author. There are some dark parts so beware of possible trigger issues.
Nyx is as dark has his name. They say everyone has a soulmate out there some where. He has met his match in Guilia. This book is dark. It has triggers of rape, and murder. It is written for readers over 18. It ends with a cliffhanger.
Steamy Darkness!!! This book is so good!!! I love MC genre books, but Nyx is my new fav!!! It is so 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥!! Lots of angst, love, and a snarky heroine to go around!!!
Serena Akeroyd has done it again!! She's created another must read phenomenon!!!
Oh my! Serena Akeroyd just keeps drawing me into this dark and dangerous world of motorcycle clubs and I am happily following this white rabbit all the way to MC and Mafia universe she’s created. Nyx was perfectly dark and delicious!
Guilia and her brothers return home to the Satan’s Sinners compound after an untimely tragedy. Guilia is young in years but her battles have aged her. She loves her brothers and didn’t want to lose that connection but an MC lifestyle is not what she envisioned for herself. She has a plan and this stint with the Sinners is meant to be temporary. Until Nyx.
Nyx is dark and twisted and lethal. Violence and power emanate from him without him having to say a word. Everyone is afraid of him. Well, except for Guilia. She irritates him, ignores him, and insults him. She also manages to soothe his demon. Oh, and she turns him on like no other. His need to protect her is so strong!
This story is gritty and sexy. The characters are wonderful. The writing is smart and the story moves with absolutely no slow moments. Even side characters are robust. There’s a cameo from the Five Points crew (you’ll find them in Filthy and Filthy Rich). Nyx was just plain fantastic!
What if Natural Born killers crossed an MC and Serena Akeroyd's imagination? You'd get an endearing love story between two bruised souls, who could do nothing else but give in to their attraction to one another. Giulia is a woman you do not want to mess with. Under that sweet exterior she has the fire burning of a 1000 suns. And Nyx? Nyx this dark, trouble soul, fighting his demons while fighting the demons of the world... Sparks fly!
This was my first true MC book, and though I'm not sure this genre is for me, this genre written by Serena Akeroyd definitely is!
This book is absolutely amazing! I love it sooo much! The love story between Nyx and Giulia is unconventional, yet beautiful! The storyline has it all, love, lust, steam, action, intrigue, emotion, family, and suspense that keeps going to the very end! The characters are all intriguing and delicious! I cannot wait for the next book in this series! This book is absolutely, positively a must read!
Awesome, I totally enjoyed this book and look forward to the next book in the series . I read Nyx on kindle unlimited , which I adore , but after I finished the book I bought it.
I was losing faith in the MC world. Been so long since I found an author, whom I actually felt like respected the raw and grittiness of the MC world. But this woman did. She took care. She build it up so deliciously & both the writing & the plot just pulled me in. And even if the community (family) part wasn’t there that was explained & had a good reason for, so I am not even mad that one of the reasons why I love MC wasn’t there. It actually made me more hyped because now I can’t wait for it be build.
Giulia was nice. A little brass at times but overall her attitude hit home rather than finding it ridiculous. I loved the cooking part. Her job. It felt good. I am also such a sucker for drama between the sweetbutts, and if you are like me this was just yummy. Nyx (love the name) was dark & complex, yet so straightforward as a man of the dark can be. They fit. The age difference was also hot. (14 years) And don’t get me started on the metal hardware. Ehm… just fuck😈
Read: 28/02/2022 1st rating: 4 stars Genre/tropes:MC/dark&gritty/romance Cover: 4 stars POV’s: Multiple 1st person (mainly Nyx&Giulia) Will I recommend: Yeees
An explosive introduction to a new series! I've read a lot of MC books but none can top this!
Satan's Sinners MC are a bunch of filthy, violent brothers like the SOA. Having Nyx as their enforcer was a wise decision. Once the monster is released it takes several brothers to reel him in. Deliciously dark and oh so twisted he will make your toes curl.
Guilia is a sassy, fiesty woman who takes no crap from anyone. Beware her punch is worse than her bite. She is untamed and unclaimed.
Nyx and Guilia have a strong chemistry between them. The banter only draws them closer. (Fans self) Guilia becomes Nyx's accomplice as he carries out certain missions to avenge his deceased sister.
Nyx will suck you in from the first page. Bloody and all.
Strongly recommend Nyx!! Can't wait for Link's story!
The thing I absolutely loved the most about this book is Giulia. She was a badass bitch & I loved it. She didn’t take any shit. She was the perfect match for Nyx. Who yes was super dark but also loyal, & a protector for those who needed it. Plus also sexy as hell!!! I want a Nyx of my own!
