Voxeran Fated Mates #5

Her Alien Rogue

Rate this book
He claims we’re fated mates. But does that mean it’s true love?
When Kaide declares—in front of the whole village, no less—that we’re fated mates, he acts like that’s the end of it. Like it’s all been decided, and we’ll just live happily ever after.

Uhhh… not so fast, buddy.

I barely know the guy. And even though I have to admit his gorgeous smile and cocky attitude turn me on, that doesn’t mean I’m ready for a lifelong commitment.

But when I tell him I’m not interested in letting some mystical bond make my decisions for me and would rather fall in love the old-fashioned way, Kaide doesn’t even bat an eye. He just vows then and there that he’ll make me fall in love with him.

He even agrees to let me join him and a few other Voxerans on a trading mission to Pascia, which I was sure he’d deny. He treats me as an equal, something I can’t say for any of the men I knew back on Earth. And no matter how many walls I put up around my heart, he keeps finding ways to break them down.

Turns out, my would-be mate is as stubborn as I am.

And he’s clearly up for a challenge.

Her Alien Rogue is a full-length standalone sci-fi romance featuring blue-skinned alien warriors, a tough heroine who doesn't think she needs a mate, and the brash, cocky warrior who's determined to prove her wrong.

If you like sexy aliens, steamy romance, and thrilling adventure, you’ll love this series. No cheating, no cliffhanger, and a happily ever after guaranteed!

Note: each book in the series can be read as a standalone, but for maximum enjoyment, it’s recommended that the series be read in order.

I love reading romance, baking (well... eating) cookies, and binge-watching sci fi shows with my husband. I'm a sucker for a dirty talking alpha with a heart of gold, and I write stories about fierce aliens and the strong Earth women they fall in love with.

To the prison world marketplace!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙🤎🖤❤️
Steam: 🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘📔
World building: 🌏🌍🌏🌎
Character development: 😍😚😉🙂
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration Type: Dual Narration

The heroine: Raina - She considers herself adaptable. So when she finds herself on the alien prison planet Nuthora, she is determined to create a new life for herself and be as independent as she was on Earth. She goes foraging for nuts and fruits every day, not waiting around for the huge Voxeran warriors to accompany her.

The Hero: Kaide - He is large and loud, always cracking jokes and talking crap. While practicing his warrior skills one day, he notices Raina watching and feels something deep in his chest. It distracts him and bothers him since he never lets himself lose focus during a fight. Yet Raina’s face keeps popping into his head and he soon knows that she is his mate.

The Story: Raina doesn’t want a mate bond to determine who she ends up with. She wants to fall in love the old fashioned way like on Earth, and get to know a man before she is expected to be with him. Though she did feel the same thing as Kaide when their eyes met at the training grounds. She never wanted the males to get any ideas because she wanted to stay independent.

Raina is disturbed when Kaide figures everything out and blurts out in front of everyone that they are mates, so she tells Kaide that she wants to take time to get to know him and see if feelings develop between them. Kaide agrees and when they both decide to go on the mission to the city to trade for goods, they are able to spend time together.

I like these alien romance stories when the main characters go on a journey together and though Raina and Kaide went to the city with four other Voxeran warriors, they end up spending a few days alone together in the city after something goes wrong. It was a good storyline and it held my interest.

This book was told in dual points of view via dual narration and was narrated by C.J. Grey and Kat Auden. I like that these books have different female narrators. Though I was really happy with the last book. C.J. Grey has a great voice for alien romance and his tempo reminds me a bit of Mason Lloyd who does the Ice Planet Barbarian series. Kat Auden also has a great voice, soft and feminine, which is exactly what I like. I dislike a female voice which is too loud or clear, or an annoying one which can hurt the ears.

Another great installment!

Kaide & Raina are a great match in this. This story offers another race against time chapter for the overall plot and a wonderfully sweet/Hot romance with characters to love.

Kaide is a wild card. He throws you off balance with his carefree disposition, and quick light hearted smiles. But dude will snatch you up or knock you on your ass quicker than you can blink. One minute he's joking the next minute he's not. You never know what hit you😳😳😳
...And I like that😛😍😍😍👅

Raina: Is just awesome. I love her. she's strong. Practical, loving, and real.

I love how each book nicely gives the stage to the main characters, while balancing the overall plot as well. Then introduces the next story in the Epilogue. Everything about this book and the others before it, flow beautifully. On to book 6. I hope I love it.

I would recommend this series. Because of the ongoing plot that is addressed in every book, I strongly recommend that you read this series in order.

I just love this series. Presley Hall writes great characters who rarely piss me off (except book 3 lol) and I appreciate the hell out of that!

Kaide was sweet and committed to winning Raina's love without simping or losing his personality or becoming emasculated. He stayed strong and confident and true to his character the whole book, and I loved him.

And Raina was tough and stubborn and independent without ever being annoying or bitchy or TSTL. And when she gave her heart to Kaide, she gave all of it! I so appreciate a heroine who knows how to love her man.

These books are fun, exciting, and super steamy, and really, I can't ask for anything more! ❤️

**3.5/5 stars**

As she sees a few of the women get mated with the Voxeran warriors, Raina isn't interested in forming that sort of bond. Growing up in foster care, she had to learn to become independent and quickly understood that she could only rely on herself. When Kaide announces that he is her mate, in front of everyone, she can't believe it. The only way she will accept the bond between them is if Kaide makes her fall in love with him. And as the flirtiest and cockiest Voxeran, he is up for the challenge. Meanwhile, a group of people is selected to go to Pascia, the closest city, to bargain and hopefully, find someone who will be able to build the communicator they need. Kaide is going, but Raina also wants to go...

I didn't expect to like Raina but I was agreeably surprised by her. The way she was portrayed in the previous book, she seemed too much like a badass-wannabe woman but here, I think she had good reasons to be independent, and to not want to fall behind. She wanted to pull her weight but she also wasn't an idiot about it. She kept Kaide at arm's length at the beginning, but she quickly felt like their personalities matched well. She was sassy but also mindful and strong.

“It takes time, getting to know each other, developing feelings for each other. Where I’m from, people do all of that first, then maybe they talk about something permanent.”

“I do have feelings for you,” I tell her.
Regardless of whether or not I thought I wanted a mate, that much is definitely true. My grin widens, turning seductive. “I feel a lot of things.”

As for Kaide, he was flirty and cocky. He was kind of boyish but also stubborn and protective. In Her Alien Beast, he was shown to have flirted with Elizabeth but he was just playing around. And everything was solved quickly as he understood he had overstepped, and he also didn't know at the time that Axen and Elizabeth were mates. I thought that this past behavior would bother me but it didn't really. I like that, even if he was mostly cocky, he also had a serious side to him. He was kind and a generous lover.

“I will do everything I can to earn your love, my kira. I won’t force you to accept the bond, but whether or not you accept it, it will always be real for me. I will protect you until my last breath no matter what. I will love you no matter what.”-Kaide

I think overall, Kaide and Raina paired very well. They didn't fear the danger and would mostly be on the same page when it came to plans. They communicated clearly with one another and never argued for stupid things. They came up to agreements fairly quickly and listened to the other's concerns with an open mind. Keeping each other grounded. Kaide and Raina had a flirtatious dynamic that I really liked. I also appreciated that their relationship didn't solely rely on the fated mated bond to grow stronger. It felt very organic between them.

The mission was an interesting and eventful one. I liked the action, the fact that it wasn't all that easy. Being in Pascia, it was nice to explore with Raina, see the variety of aliens as well as the different groups and dynamic in the city.

Happily surprised by this installment. Not sure if it's my favorite but it is definitely up there; the story kept me interested. Maybe the ending wasn't all that great because we are introduced to a new character (the next heroine) and I'm not looking forward to reading about her. But since I want to fully read this series...*sighs*

I believe this series has a main plot that will chronologically develop with each installment, so you probably want to read them all in order.

Overview: Another cracky good SFR series, it seems to contain the Presley Hall formula - huge, protective heroes who love wearing loincloths and nothing else. The Voxerans were banished to a prison planet called Nuthora and have lived there for 5 years when they see a spaceship crash and, thinking that they can salvage the ship for parts, head towards one of the crash sites. Unbeknownst to them, two human women have just found out that their world leaders basically sold them off to alien warlords as sex slaves in return for alien tech. Fantastic. When the ship they're on accidentally crashes on Nuthora, they also found out that there's a whole bunch of other women on the ship with them. The fight for survival begins, but along the way, you guessed it, we got some fated mate situations happening.

All in all, I like this series alot more than the previous series I'd read by Ms. Hall, the Kalixian Warriors. The premise of being able to reject the mate bond is still in effect, but I think the storytelling here is better and there's much more character development on the way to that HEA. There's also a cohesive overarching storyline that snaps into place and keeps the reader turning that page to find out if they succeed in their plans. I liked alot more fo the books here. If you're into SFR where the romance is central, then I'd recommend this. Now onto the individual books:

Book 1: Her Alien Prince (Charlotte and Droth) - solid start to the series, romance was right blend of insta and built up love. May have issues for those who would struggle with married heroine. Husband basically helped her get on this flight/no love, and there's no way she's going back, so I'm counting that as his fault, it didn't bother me. 4 stars
Book 2: Her Alien Savior (Sadie and Jaro) - I liked the couple, no external complications, all character driven. Deals with anxiety issues and survivalist action. 4 stars.
Book 3: Her Alien Beast (Elizabeth and Axen) - tender, protective hero with pregnant heroine. Probably messiest of the books with a prickly heroine but I still enjoyed it. 4 stars
Book 4: Her Alien Warrior (Gemma and Kzuri) - MCs captured and sold into slavery, so a little darker but my main complaint is it slowed down in the middle but made up for it by the end. 3.5 stars

Book 5: Her Alien Rogue (Raina and Kaide) - I always love with the grump is the heroine and the sunshine is the hero, so this is probably my fave. The overarching storyline is really building now and while sex on the run can be tricky, this made it work. 4 stars

Terrific story🌟🌟🌟🌟⭐

Kaide is the next Voxeran warrior to find his fated mate in an Earth woman.. He's been attracted to Raina ever since she held a blaster at anyone who would dare enter their crashed ship. She's prickly, independent and fierce. She wants to do everything herself and rely on no one. Kaide wants to love and protect her, while allowing her to be herself. He just needs to convince his fierce woman that his love is true and no one will love her more than him. Both of them venture on a dangerous mission to help the Voxerans find away to communicate off planet. On this adventure they get to know each other on a deeper level and come to admire the strengths and weaknesses that make them perfect for each other. All while battling enemies, thieves and finding something to save all of them. Can't wait for the next story! You'll be surprised who is struck by love next!💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖

Raina is a human woman stranded on the alien prison planet Nuthora along with two dozen other females. Sold by the government in exchange for advanced weaponry, their ship crashed on the prison planet with no means of escape. They were found by the Voxeran warriors and now cohabit with them in their village far away from the other criminals that were dumped on Nuthora. But the Voxerans aren't criminals- their leader is the prince of their home world, and they were banished to Nuthora after a failed uprising against the prince's uncle who stole the throne.

In this book, a small group of Voxerans are traveling to the city of Pascia on a mission for some needed supplies, and- most importantly- to quietly find someone to build an off-world communication device with some very rare valuable material acquired in the previous book so that they can contact allies on their home planet Vox and escape Nuthora. Will they find someone who can build the device and safely return with it back to their village? This mission is the most exciting aspect of the book- dangerous and incredibly important- and really reminds readers that the protagonist characters are on a very dangerous planet of untrustworthy criminals far opposite of the honorable Voxeran. The writing gives a great sense of tension and unease as opposed to the more peaceful safety of the Voxeran village.

The secondary plot of the book is the relationship between Raina and Kaide. Raina is a woman who grew up bouncing around in the foster care system, and learned quickly the importance of self-reliance. To take care of herself and watch her back when no one else would, and worked three jobs to insure she could support herself without ever having to borrow money, as she doesn't like to owe anyone anything or be indebted. Out on Nuthora, she works hard at foraging to do her part of providing for the village. And she made a point learning about the environment so that if anything ever happened, she could survive in a forest of dangerous plants and animals that could kill her. She is strong and fiercely independent.

Kaide is a skilled warrior, respected in the village and leader on the mission. He is playful and cocky, but not arrogant, and knows when to be serious and when to relax. Days before the mission, he discovers Raina is his mate, and pretty much announces it in the presence of the rest of the village. She claims he's mistaken and runs off, but he follows and promises to win her heart and would do anything to please her. Thus she gets permission to accompany the warriors on their mission- pleased that she gets to explore more of Nuthora, and Kaide gets to know her better and try and bond with her.

I like that the relationship aspect is more relaxed and happens naturally during the dangers of the mission. They aren't simply growing closer during easy interactions in the village- but in their actions in Pascia. Though the independent Raina begins to trust Kaide, will he be able to win her heart?

Though this book is a continuation of a series, it can easily be read as a standalone that will mention/explain the main points of previous books, so readers aren't lost. Although the plot of this book is complete, the underlying storyline of the Voxerans trying to return to Vox is continued in the next book with new protagonists that you meet here. I loved this book, it's characters and this world! Great story and action. I eagerly await the next book, and fully recommend you give this one a read! 5 stars!

I love this whole series, and this book is another great addition. Kaide is an easy going, good natured warrior who felt the mate bond with Raina one night at dinner. He was so surprised that he blurted out that she was his mate in front of everyone. Raina doesn’t want or need anyone. She’s always managed just fine on her own and being someone’s mate is the furthest thing from her mind. Kaide certainly has his work cut out for him.

I loved the two main characters. They both have a pretty good sense of humor and honestly, seem very well suited for each other. Raina just needs a little time to get used to the idea. Watching her come around to Kaide and the mating bond was very satisfying. I not only like them individually, I really like them as a couple as well. I loved that While Raina tried to maintain some of her independence, for the most part, she listened to Kaide, and followed his lead while they were in Pascia. As it’s a very dangerous place. And Kaide understood her need to feel useful and have some autonomy and provided that for her.

There were some things that were obvious - like when the alien they were looking for was supposedly to be found in the pits, gambling. I knew that there would be some type of plot device that would require Kaide to have to fight. Sure enough. Yet, I didn’t mind. It was still an enjoyable read, and I felt very satisfied when it was over. I hope that there are a few more stories left, not just Bohrir and Willow’s story. Because I desperately want to see these guys return to their planet and kick that asshole king’s ass right off that throne.

I highly recommend this book and the series as a whole.

So I thought the book was ok. I liked the hero and the heroine.

My main issue is I have no idea when they fell in love. When did it happen?

The book blurb says, "But when I tell him I’m not interested in letting some mystical bond make my decisions for me and would rather fall in love the old-fashioned way, Kaide doesn’t even bat an eye. He just vows then and there that he’ll make me fall in love with him."

But he didn't do anything to get her to love him.

SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER

She avoids him for days after the mate bond appears. Then they have a talk and she says people on earth don't have mate bonds. They fall in love gradually. So he says he'll make the heroine fall in love with him.

He does nothing. No gestures of love. He asks her what can I do? And she thinks and says I want to go on the trading trip. He says it'll be dangerous and why does she want to. She says she wants to explore this planet since they are stuck there and can't go back to earth.

So he gets permission for her to go on the trip. That's the only gesture of love he makes. At night, he cuddles with her so she can be warm since there is not a fire.

They go to trade the diamantum for an off world communicator. It gets stolen and they all split up to find it.

They find it and rescue a human woman in the process. During that time, they have sex for the first time and agree they are mates.

I have no idea when they fell in love. And I thought there would be "dates" and "wooing" based on the book blurb. I felt like the hero did not put any effort in at all.

What an amazing addition to a suspenseful series, only this time there is a twist in acceptance. The fated mates bonds have always been accepted from both parties, until now, allowing for an eventual turn of events for these fierce warriors!

Raina is skeptical of the women who have paired off with their “fated mates” with what she has been told is the universe’s way of putting them together. But that’s not how it’s done back on earth and she has no intention on ever being “mated” with any of them.

Kaide has had his heart broken in the past, turning his sole focus on his warrior status. He has completed given up on ever finding his fated mate, so when he finally recognizes the bond when keeping Raina from falling, her reaction was definitely unexpected. Now, his solo purpose is to make her fall in love with him since she’s not accepting the mate bond, and it only works when she willingly accepts.

The excitement these two go through while on their trip to Pascia in search of a communicator, is filled with so much playful banter. Kaide’s foolish side catches Raina’s eye, especially since all the other warriors are always so serious all the time. They learn they actually have a lot more in common than originally thought, exposing just exactly why the universe chose them. But, it is so exciting to see the other side of acceptance as she learns to love.

Her Alien Rogue by Presley Hall is the well-written story of Raina and Kaide, two interesting characters who were not looking for love, but found it all the same. Readers cannot help but like Kaide because of the way he treats Raina. He has such a respectful attitude at all times—he respects her thoughts, her wishes, her desires, her determination, her actions, her mind, and her whole person. He’s open and honest and wants to know everything about her. I’ve never encountered a book character like him. Raina, too, has never met a man like Kaide; she cannot help but fall in love with him even though she does not want to do so. Their tale furthers the Voxeran determination to leave the prison planet Nuthora as they travel to the criminal city of Pascia to hire someone to create a communication device. Needless to say, the trip is fraught with danger and betrayal from the criminal inhabitants. They get their device (a little bent, but hopefully not broken) and return to their home with a captive woman they rescued. Hopefully, she’s not broken as well. If bookworms haven’t read Hall’s Voxeran Fated Mates Series and like alien stories, then they cannot go wrong investing in this or any of her alien tales. The stories and the interaction among the characters will keep readers enthralled as they work through each novel.

The world-buildings keeps on giving and I'm really happy about it. This time we're on the streets of Pascia, a trading place full of dangers where loyalties changes as fast as they come.

I liked this couple but no more than Gemma and Zrui or Sadie and Jaro.

Raina wanted to fall in love with Kaide, not just dive head-first on to their bond and I thought this approach could be interesting because most of the other female character didn't put too much resistant in the attraction they felt towards their mates. However, I just didn't see a lot of differences between this couple and other previous couples. Kaide's already smitten with Raina due to the bond(I felt like he lacked personality), and Raina fell in love with Kaide because he took care of her while accommodating her needs of wanting to be part of the action.

All of the other girls fell in love with their aliens for similar reasons, the main one being taken care of by them. So, besides Raina being included on the action I just didn't feel anything too unique or different from the others, which made it feel repetitive.

The action wasn't that great either. I felt like it was almost too easy considering this is supposed to be a highly dangerous place, and them being split from the others just counting on one another.

Overall, subplot moved forward at the end of the book and I'm still excited to see what awaits.

This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

Raina and Kaide's story which is the 5th story in the Voxeran Fated Mates series. This book doesn't disappoint and i'm so itching for them all to finally leave that planet. But, slowly right? The anticipation and these alien warriors getting their brothen and their mates home to Vox. Anyways, when the village was about to have dinner Kaide helps Raine from falling into the fire. He immediately recognizes Raina to be his mate. His immediate draw to her begins,but alias Raina has her doubts. She doesn't believe in 1 true mates like the other ladies. But, Kaide and 2 other males must go to the city to get more supplies. But, Ms. Raina is a stubborn, closed off person, and wanting to be able to survive on her own if possible. Yet, Kaide can't keep away from her, they make an agreement to get to know each other and see if Kaide can make Raina sweep her off her feet. Will Raina drop her barriers and allow this Voxeran warrior into her heart? Or will there be something else to block them?

Also, when will these warrior be able to leave that planet and seek their revenage? I'm impatient..

I really enjoyed Raina and Kaide's story. It was the next great installment of the Voxeran series. I liked that Kaide was a party boy with heart. Always up for a good time but still got down to business. Any time he had a serious moment you could feel his smolder. I also enjoyed that Raina didn't just go along blindly with being his mate. A girl has gotta be herself and stand up. Like the previous book, the locale for was outside of the Voxeran village in Pascia. It was awesome to hear about some of the other inhabitants of the planet and see just how good the girls have it at the village. Raine and Kaide's dynamic was amazing and their partnership made the book such a joy to read. No damsel in destress here. Their ability to partner so well is what made all their hurdles in Pascia more exciting to read. It also helped to move along the overarching storyline of the Voxeran's. I can't wait for the next story and see how our Voxeran's hopefully get home to their planet eventually.

👽 “You’re so much more than I ever expected, my fierce, sweet Raina. So much more than I ever thought I would find... How perfectly the stars aligned when they brought us into each other’s lives.”
~~~
This is Raina and Kaide's story.
Raina is fiercely independent and stubborn. Growing up in foster care, she’s learned to rely only on herself and finds it difficult to trust and lean on others.
Kaide is cocky, fearless, honorable, protective and a bit reckless. He’s always smiling, playful and teasing but he’s experienced deep pain and loss. There’s more to him than meets the eye.
I loved their relationship! Both are very stubborn and determined to prove the other wrong. But their chemistry is undeniable and scorching hot. I loved their banter, how they gradually built trust and friendship, how they supported and protected each other, and in the end got the HEA they deserved. They just compliment each other so beautifully!
Overall, the story is a wonderful read, filled with action, danger, adventure, suspense and steam.
I absolutely loved it!
Kaide and Raine
He's like the classic clown and she's always only counted on herself, very serious. They have sparks flying when she trips at the fire pit and he catches her. He announces she's his mate in front of everyone but she explains to him she's not looking for a relationship but will allow him to court her. They make a trip to a city where sections are led by master criminals to see if they can have a communicator made but the tech takes off with the precious mineral they had for the device. They split up to find him and cause a gang war to be able to infiltrate the tower he is in and retrieve the device. Kaide and Rains outrun the criminals and meet the others in the forest. Bohrir has rescued a human female named Willow from a pirates den, she had been abducted by the pirate and when his ship was boarded she was arrested with the captain and crew, sentenced and taken to Nuthora. Oh, Kaide and Rains became mates on the trip and she thinks she's pregnant.
Human Raina has had a difficult upbringing and life and so she is strong, feisty and determined to stand on her own two feet. When Voxeran Kaide declares in front of the whole village that she is his mate, everyone seems to think that is that and it is decided. Certainly not Raina! Yes, he is gorgeous and has a great smile, but that is certainly not enough for her to make a lifelong commitment. When she explains she wants to fall in love in the old fashioned way, he is not phased and just vows that he will do what it takes for her to do that. So she joins him and a couple of other Voxerans on a trading mission to Pascia where he treats her as an equal. Can they achieve the aims of the trading mission and can Kaide win Raina's heart?
I enjoyed this story which definitely had a lot of drama, danger and challenges. Throughout it all, Kaide was very respectful of Raina and treated her as an equal. It was great to see them working together as a team especially as there were a lot of twists and turns. Easy to read and very enjoyable. Contains explicit sexual content.
A heck of an adventure!
When the slave ship carrying the human women who had been kidnapped and sold by their own Earth government crashed on a prison planet, they were saved by a group of political dissidents already dumped there. The huge blue warriors had left the area the criminals were in and formed their own village, where they kept the humans safe. In order to escape the planet they need a long distance communicator, some of them must trade with the criminals of dozens of planets who live in several "cities" , days away, to get the tech they need. There are already several women who have happily found mates amount the Voxeran males, and now the most stand offish woman of all, an orphan from the streets of LA, has met her "match", the male who says she is his fated mate. Voxeran Fated Mates by Presley Hall
This is the 5th book in the Voxeran Fated Mates series and like the others is action packed from the first page to the last. This is Raina and Kaide's story and what a story it is! We get our first look at Pascia...the big city on the planet...where the Voxeran's go to make trades for what they can't make. It is a city of the worst criminals. Things get exciting real quick when they enter the city looking for someone to build the communications device. What a wild ride! Can't wait for Willow and Bohrirs' story!
 Presley Hall is a master story teller whose worlds are well built. The characters have charm and likeability...you can't help rooting for them. The sexy times are hot. And the story lines are gripping. It is my opinion you can't go wrong with a Presley Hall book. It is so easy to recommend this book..I am positive you will enjoy it!
So Raina is a spitfire for sure. She is one tough cookie. Then we have the fun loving Kaide but he also takes being a warrior seriously. They go on a mission and while on this mission they get close. She does not want to because she is determined to get back to earth. The question is why do you want to get back there with what your government did. So why not help the Voxeran get back to their home where you can live free. Anyways, we see how Kaide and Raina connect on all levels and this just sparks the budding relationship. You cannot deny your mate can you? The end up on one heck of an adventure. We get a good amount of action whether it be fighting, running or them being intimate. You don't want to miss out on this story. You will need this book to understand what is going on later in the series.
Raina grew up in foster care in LA, so she is used to relying on no one but herself and even now she is stuck on Nuthora a prison planet she gets out everyday and forages for food. She is not looking for a mate like some of the other women she crashed here with, she is perfectly happy on her own.
Kaide is a playful cocky yet committed Voxeran warrior not interested in looking for a mate, until he catches Raina that is.
Kaide is tasked with a mission to Pascia to trade for supplies and to find someone to build the communication device, Raina wants to go, is this a way into Raina's heart. Kaide promises not to push the mate bond but is going to try and win Raina's trust and love and as the mission progresses Raina realizes how much they have in common.
I love the two side by side stories we get with each of these books we get the new relationships between the human women and the Voxeran males and we get the story of the Voxeran males and the journey they are on to make back to Vox.
'Her Alien Rogue' tells Raina and Kaide's story and I have to say I really liked the book!
At first I wasn't quite sure what to think of Raina and whether I could establish a connection with her, which is important to me. She has a very strong personality and always seems to have to prove to herself and others that she can do anything and does not need any help. That made me curious about her background story and how she became that person.
I just loved Kaide! I was really won over by his playful and cheeky manner. And he really gives everything to convince Raina of himself and to make her fall in love with him.
What also convinced me was the story itself. It was exciting and action-packed - I just loved it!
3.5 stars!
These are such fun, sexy, drama-free & sweet reads. I like how each story is different, but still plays on the fated mate trope.
Here we have Kaide and Raina - Raina is a strong, pragmatic, and independent woman who’s determined to carry her own weight in the group. I liked that she didn’t sacrifice any of her independence or competence, but just learned to trust & emotionally mature.
Kaide was such a good match. Funny, boyish charm, but serious when he needs to be, Kaide was so much fun, but didn’t lose himself in this mate bond. I particularly liked how he was protective, but not smothering. Raina isn’t the type to cower & he respected that. Of all the characters in this series, I think I would want to be these two’s friends the most.
Oh come on! Presley Hall gets better every book. I just love Raina and Kaide. In amongst charged action sequences and mortal danger, these two get to know each other deeply.
Kaide is all in on the mate bond from the second he feels it, but Raina takes longer to unfurl. He’s more patient than I think he’s going to be in the beginning and this j really appreciate. He does try to steamroll her, he coaxes her out of her shell with patience and understanding. I was actually a little surprised by how well Presley Hall characterised Kaide.
Raina is angsty at the start, but it’s never gratuitous, it’s always believable. Her reasons for her tough exterior are well-explained and make perfect sense.
Another exemplary romp from Presley Hall. I can’t wait for the next one!
Action and sweet romance. More please :-)
I gave this book and really this series 5 stars because it's such a sweet, wonderful, action filled series. My daughter would call it a cinnamon roll, but I'd say with a little spice. So, a cinnamon roll with a touch of cayanne pepper. If you love sweet romance with an action flavor, this series is for you. They are well written, with amazing world building and just plan fun to read. The women's reactions and responses are believable and the kind friendships they have with each other are refreshing. I look forward to the next book and hope the Ms. Hall takes the story to planet Vox. I would love to read her world building of that new world and the possible new adventures on Vox.
Raina never thought she would be abducted by her government to be used as intergalactic currency.
Kaide and his fellow Warriors are stuck on a prison planet. They are not like the rest of the prisoners on the planet.
I love this series so much I forgot to wright reviews when I finished the books so now I'm playing catch up
I wish Aug 27 would get here.
Each book is about a new couple and can be read in any order but I recommend reading the series in order it's better that way.
Journey
To get a communication device should be the subtitle of this book.
I was a bit disappointed in this one. I had high expectations for R. Thought she would insist on training with the warriors. And I bet their had to be at least one human that knew some self defense.
Felt like she and her mates story was a lot down. Much of their story was sex, etc. There was enough to rate this amount of stars.
Hopefully the next concentrates on the wary and trauma of Willow and how her mate slowly earns her trust and love.
And why the heck have they not gone scavenging the ship? Or decide to move to the ship? Think it would be logical to move since it is elevated, metal or some material not easy to burn, and still has many materials, medical they can use
“I can’t wait to hear you say you love me.”
Kaide sure knows how to sweet talk a lady❗️I instantly loved his character, he was level headed but also cocky and assertive with a funny side 😉. Raina was a foster child back on Earth who was used to depending on herself and it was really hard for her to learn to trust.
He looks like a predator and a playboy all at once. (Raina’s words not mine.)
Kaide and Raina are destined but... it’ll take a lot on his part to prove it. Especially in a lawless city away from their village.
