Levi Strong has retired to North Myrtle Beach. With a home on House Creek, he's enjoying the life he's looked forward to for a long time. He spends his mornings fishing and his afternoons puttering around the house. This may be the life Levi has always wanted, but it's nowhere near exciting enough for his younger wife. When Levi is found murdered at the end of his pier one day, and his little row boat is missing, who's to blame? In Southern Exposure, the seventh book in the Jake Stellar Series, North Myrtle Beach detectives, Jake Stellar and Avis Lint round up and question a cast of oddball characters in and attempt to solve Levi's murder.
There isn't anything I don't like about Rodney's writing. And I always chuckle more than once! I'm always trying to be patient for the next book in any of the series!
Open ended for the next installment, in classic Riesel style. Keeps you guessing with more than one suspect and surprised at the conclusion. Got to wonder where he comes up with these plots and characters!
The author reached a new high in developing a surprise at the very end. The reason this author command such a large audience is his ability to keep his readers engaged to the very last page.
Good read. The ending surprised me and left me with questions. A little confusion in the middle with similar character names. Bert, Bertie and Bree got mixed up in my head at 2 am.
